After my mom passed I started attending GriefShare. The leader let me borrow this book. I enjoyed the small chapters because this made it easier to digest the material. Additionally, I loved the thought provoking questions at the end of each chapter.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has lost their mother.
Here are a few of my favorite quotations from the book:
"We all grieve our mom in our own ways because we each had a different relationship with her, although she was our mother."
"Jesus, I am grieving. And I need You. I know I've sinned, and I cannot save myself. I need Your forgiveness. But I believe You died for me and rose again. I place my trust in You -- give me Your peace now and Your promise forever. Amen"
"The closest friend aren't always the best companions in grief."*
* So true. I discovered during my grief journey that our friendship was very toxic.
For those who have lost their mothers, this is a very good resource to help on the journey. It gives very helpful way to acknowledge the loss as well as ways to work through the grief. As one who has lost their mother, I was greatly helped by this title.
