Club Rapture: Risk Aware #4
By All Accounts
Daniel
I knew from the first time I saw her, I wanted to marry Sophie. Beautiful, intelligent, and playfully dominant, she's everything I ever wanted. The distance between us was never an issue, but eight years in with a ring on her finger after a cross-country move, neither of us is sure what the future looks like.
Sophie
I've never wanted more from a partner than what Daniel is able to give. He's a dream in all the best ways, but that's never had any bearing on the things we do when we're not together. Flirting with a good-looking man at the paint store isn't out of the ordinary, but when we take things further, nothing will ever be the same.
Finn Covington is tall, sad, and self-deprecating...and Daniel and I want him for keeps.
Finn
After having my heart broken worse than I ever thought possible, the last thing I want is the exact thing I need. Getting involved with (another) couple is a horrible idea, but I don't have it in me to say no. Being with Sophie and Daniel is better than I could have hoped, but as their wedding day draws closer, so does our expiration date.
Fighting the judgement of my brothers, my own self-doubt, and the ghosts of my past, I have to decide if a life with Sophie and Daniel is something I can fight for or something I'll lose forever.

Finn was a troubled soul. I’m SO glad he found Sophie/Daniel AND that he had met Daniel BEFORE. It added an extra layer where it made it believable that their connection was almost insta love.
The sex was HOT! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dare I say this was the perfect MMF triad. Nobody felt left out and everything felt real. Finn definitely met his matches. Love that for him!
Side notes: one of my fave parts was Finn and Lincoln with Hunter at lunch and Lincoln gave some great feedback. Love him.
Reading this book made me want to reread the others all over again. ♥️♥️

Review of advance copy received from Author
This book is about love, trust, patience, and what happens when the relationship you thought you understood becomes something bigger, deeper, and even more honest.
Sophie and Daniel are already in love. They’re engaged, they’ve survived eight years of long distance, and Sophie is finally living with him. Then there’s Finn, who has been burned before by being with a couple and is terrified of letting himself want that again. But the pull between him, Sophie, and Daniel is too strong for any of them to ignore.
What starts as a story about opening a relationship turns into one of the most accurate, loving, and emotionally grounded depictions of a bisexual MMF throuple I’ve read. This kind of relationship can so easily feel fetishized, or like the author is trying to make it more “acceptable” by focusing everything through the woman. But Hawthorne doesn’t do that. She lets every dynamic breathe, giving space to the three of them together and to each individual pairing, without ever making one connection feel less important than the others. The beauty is in how natural that fluidity feels.
Sophie especially stole the show for me. She is gentle when she needs to be, but she also knows exactly how to command and handle each moment with the care and attention it deserves. She never feels like a prop in the middle of two men, and she never feels like the only reason the relationship works. She is the heart of it in such a quiet, powerful way.
And because this is a K.H. book, yes, the kink is there, but the beauty of this one is in the subtlety. It never overtakes the emotion or becomes the focus. It adds to the intimacy instead of replacing it.
I honestly didn’t think anyone in this universe could come close to Dalton and Ivey for me, but these three were written immaculately. Their love felt earned, tender, complicated, and real.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to continue making my way through Hawthorne’s backlist.

Daniel and Sophie’s long, loving relationship shifts when a chance encounter brings Finn Covington into their lives — a man they both unexpectedly want. Finn, still hurting from his past, is wary of joining a couple, but being with them feels right. As Sophie and Daniel’s wedding approaches, Finn must decide whether to fight for a future with them or walk away.
I loved this story for the way it centred a love that wasn’t limited to just two people — trust was the foundation of everything between Sophie, Daniel, and Finn Covington. The care and support Sophie and Daniel offered Finn came with no pressure, only genuine affection, which made their growing connection feel warm and safe. Their communication was clear and easy to understand, and I especially appreciated how hard they worked to be equals in their relationship, making the dynamic feel inclusive and balanced. There were plenty of emotions and feelings throughout, from quiet vulnerability to moments of real tenderness. I also loved the way Finn communicated with his brothers and their partners — those scenes added depth and showed how much he was trying to rebuild his life while opening himself to something new. This was an MMF story with mature content.

I adored the dynamics of this triad so so much. Things were not easy for any of them navigating the different pieces of bringing not only a long distance relationship a decade long into a co-habitation relationship with next to no notice, adding an unexpected third during a new engagement, a severely shattered heart, a hook-up turned more that fell apart and left both parties hurting, and a lot of reuniting on multiple fronts. Kate handled it all masterfully and gave us a book of beautiful new beginnings, love that truly does conquer all, hearts that are more than big enough to go around, and spice that still manages to knock your socks off.

I've enjoyed every book in this series so far. This one has a slightly different spin with a MMF throuple. Emotions and passion run high as these three find their way to healing, hope, and a relationship that works for all of them. Finn is fresh off a painful break-up with another couple and doesn't know if he's ready to try again, but he's still drawn to engaged couple Sophie and Daniel. It was also great to get cameos of the other brothers in Finn's family and their significant others. Club Rapture is not central to the story, but it looks like it will be, as this throuple is drawn to some kinky dynamics. Good read!

I'm not a fan of MMF, but I wanted to finish the series since I love all the Covington brothers. At the start, I thought I would find Finn most attractive, but he had a lot of sharp edges that didn't appeal to me, and I disliked how closed off he was from everyone, particularly his brothers. Daniel, however, was another story altogether. Every glimpse of him on the page made me want to discover more about him. If this book had been about only Finn and Daniel I would have rated it higher.

This book describes so beautifully what true love is. What trust and patience can mean in a relationship.
How love doesn't necessarily have to be limited to just one person. That in a strong relationship, he can flourish and make everyone stronger.

not a fan of MMF or poly but this was still not working for me, I did not find the characters likeable or well developed. The chemistry is not really there and does not flow with the story. To make a poly work it takes real time and chemistry but this just had none.

Finn’s backstory should have made this interesting, but in the end this was just a story about things going really well.
