Ok, I'm officially irritated with Henry in this one. Im over his goody two shoes attitude and his naive take on things. He hasn't seemed to have grown at all. There is such potential in his island, and he keeps messing simple things up. Im also getting really annoyed with the tables and his xp visuals. It shouldn't take up 50 pages every time he levels up and gets skills. The tables are a bit unnecessary, at least the extent they are given. A summary would have been better and added better flow to the book.
Book 3 of the Henry’s Harbor series. Not to worry, Henry is wheeling and dealing and of course dealing with all the powers that are bigger than him. The island is really shaping up and he is starting to establish himself. Well, just in time to deal with other people’s choices and his desire to help everyone. Caught between two warring nations that continuously threaten him, he does everything he has to in order to survive. I like the topic of work life balance that is addressed and the emergencies that keep disrupting it.
Love the idea behind these books, but there are some issues. The tables and stats pages are way too involved. Having just read this on Kindle at one point there are over 50 pages that are just tables and stats. They don't really add anything to the story and I just skipped them. Also I'm wondering who proof reads these as at one point the writer calls his main character by a different name. I'm beginning to think perhaps there is no author and it's AI generated?
It’s a continuation of the first two books in this series. If you liked those two, you will like this one. We do start to see the potential future of Havenport. There are a few ‘autocorrect’ editing errors in this book. For that, I give it 4 stars.
great town building…on an island. Overall the book is really well written and thought out. Perhaps, the only thing I don’t like is the way the MC acts so naive and goody two shoes all the time. In the end things just work out for him no matter the odds because of plot armor so…
