This story is full of inconsistencies and leave a lot to desire.
1-Why has the author introduced an aunt to Elizabeth who lived in Hunsford married to a clergyman only to completely abandon the character for the rest of the story? I had hoped that the aunt was married to Mr Collins, which would have given an interesting twist to the story.
2- What happened to Elizabeth that she needed to be tended to by nurses?
3- Why is old Mr. Darcy always going back to the beginning of their relationship as if they had no other fond memories from their 60-year old marriage?
Heartbreakingly lovely story of two people, who both are different in their own way,m& different together. This Darcy is misunderstood, because he himself is not what he thought, but forever changed by meeting Elizabeth Bennet. Darcy reveals himself so slowly, & in ways which are not being looked for, & only after, with time, is the fullness of his integrity, his devotion revealed. This story hits the heart, like a solid thud.
I don't understand why writers revisit Jane Auten's work with little variation other than the author's own words. Did Austen not do it well enough the first time? That's obviously sarcasm. If your going to a variation ... do a variation. Not some minor changes but something new, exciting, and different. The reason I read p&P variations is because I love the characters and can't wait to read new stories about them. This is a "oh hum".
