Everyone tells Madison Grant she’s chasing a myth, but she knows mermaids and their ancient city of Ocearus are real. As an omega, she has to work twice as hard to prove herself, so when her thesis proposal is rejected by the dean of anthropology, Madison decides to take things into her own hands.
When she’s confronted with an honest-to-gods merman, her adventure kicks into high gear. Navigating secret cities, underwater dangers, and meddling exes turn what should have been a simple expedition into a fight for their lives.
Things become even more complex when Madison discovers not only is the merman her scent match, but so is the very dean who denied her research. Add in his best friend, a marine biologist, and you have a recipe for high heat, high stakes, and twists you’ll never see coming.
Welcome to Seaman's Cove is the second book in the Adventurverse series, but can be read as a standalone. It is intended for an 18+ audience.

I fell in love with this book! I couldn't put it down. I got hooked! The universe is incredible, and combining it with the Omegaverse is a great idea. It's well-written, and I love the main characters.
I can’t wait for part two; I need to read the rest of their story!
Great second installment in the adventurverse series. This series has such a fun and unique perspective on omegaverse that I haven’t seen anywhere else. The authors do a great job of creating a compelling plot line and characters that have chemistry. I’m holding off on a Star rating as this is only part 1 of the story and ends on a cliffhanger- I want to see how this resolves before reacting as a whole, but overall recommend!
“I’ve got you, omega,” my steady alpha whispers. “And I’m never letting you go.”
✔️MMMF omegaverse why choose romance ✔️mermaids are real (language barrier) ✔️accidental bonding ✔️professor x student (forbidden) ✔️best friends to lovers ✔️part one of a duet within the Adventureverse Series ✔️ends on a cliffhanger ✔️no 3rd act breakup
This is such a fun book, and I read it in one sitting because there was no way I could put it down. Be aware that it does end on a cliffhanger, as it is part one of a duet within the Adventureverse Series (part two will be released in November 2026). You don’t have to read Welcome to Bonetown before this book, as that is a complete standalone, however it’s a good introduction to this world and the archaeological adventure vibes. The authors state that this book pays homage to Splash, The Little Mermaid, and Atlantis, and that is an excellent way to describe this book. Part cute romance, part adventure tale, this book had me hooked from the first page and I can’t wait to see how everything resolves in book two!
The main characters in this book are Madison (FMC, omega), Dr. Hunter Anderson (MMC, alpha), Caspian (MMC, alpha), and Phoenix (MMC, alpha). There are many hints dropped about the pack growing in book two and I am so here for it. This is a build-a-pack situation, and when Madison and Caspian meet, they instantly realize they are scent matched mates and bond before knowing each other’s names. There is a language barrier and Caspian seems confused and intrigued by the world around him for good reason, he is a merman. She is looking for the abandoned city of Ocearus and its library, convinced that it is hidden from the world, but Hunter won’t approve her project, just not for the reason she thinks. All of the MCs are her scent matched mates but with scent cancellers and blockers, they never realized, and it makes things just a bit complicated, since Phoenix is in love with his best friend (Hunter) and he is in an open relationship with a beta that we haven’t met yet.
There is plenty of spice, but plenty of adventure as well. There are villains and danger, but also sweet swoony moments. I am excited to see how the cliffhanger resolves, but also how the relationships evolve in part two. It’s fun to see the combination of contemporary with mythical creatures and though there are lingering questions about the practicality of a human being bonded to a merman, I know everything will work out perfectly in the end!
*Thank you so much to the authors (Thea Masen and Clover Holloway) for the opportunity to ARC read this book! All opinions are my own*
OMGGG WTFFFF GIVE ME PART TWO NOW. I LOVED THIS ARC SO MUCH. Madison has been obsessed with the lost city of Ocearus, the long-lost underwater city, for as long as she can remember. she wants to do her thesis on it, but the asshole dean Anderson has rejected it. stubborn and brave omega that she is she's determined to find it in her own and thats what she plans to do but before she can do any real looking at the cove she spots a washed absolutely stunning man. he has gorgeous blue hair, ethereal skin, and weird hand tattoos that remind her of something she can't put her mind on.. oh, and he also doesn't speak a lick of English. she knows she must help him but oh my god he smells so good and now they're bonded and oh my fucking god he's also a merman. just when she thinks things couldn't get crazier she learns she's also scent matched to the dean who denied her and now his bestie that he's totally not in love with has joined the mix and they're all on an adventure together to make their omega dream come true. when the expedition turns deadly and things get out of hand, will they be able to stay togetehr or will their whole worlds come crashing down? this was everything I wanted and more. listen I love welcome to bone town but this blew that out of the waters(get it) I don't know maybe its cause i love the whole ocean theme cause I'm a water girly or maybe it was just the book. Thea and clover did so good with this. it was so fun and so entertaining. I was on the edge of my seat so when I was watching the percent read thing slowly increase and we still haven't got to a conclusion I about lost it. I cant wait I need more rn😫 everyone is just so good togetehr and genuinely i can't choose who I love more. I never wanted this to end and I also want to join this expedition team minus the aqua-cats. everything was just so good and oh my the spice was panty dropping. especially you Mr Dean Anderson 😫dirtiest mouth around. yes sir push it back it😝 plus that group scene might very been the hottest ever. anyways for side notes, we love the bone town reference, happy trail of heaven, let your jewels be free, werk pee-nuts kwad kump-ass shampain, poisoned by spicy food, semen cove, we love old pervy man hunter, "motherfucking tail " valid response, mad mate tail swim, knotting hill, knot your princess, betawatch, omg tickle that cervix holy fuck, squishy?? really??, I am also too old for this, chadrick, thadwick, brad-dick, dickrod, we love you fishybillionaire47, sabertoothtigerxarticsealxmarlin. Absolutely zero notes. I just need part two asap😫
Welcome to Seaman's Cove: Part One (Adventureverse) by Thea Masen & Clover Holloway ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Duet * Omegaverse * College * Royalty * Professor x Student * Multiple POV * MM * Merman * Lost Cities * MMFMM * Why Choose * Archeologist * Praise * BDSM 📖 272 pages
This is a duology, so be prepared to immediately need book two because that cliffhanger is BIG. Thankfully Part 2 is expected in November 2026, so the wait could definitely be worse.
I was really excited to ARC this story because I’ve previously enjoyed books from both Thea Masen and Clover Holloway, and seeing them collaborate gave me high hopes. And they delivered. Because how could I not love a book that combines omegaverse, why choose, mermen, lost cities, and professor x student dynamics all into one story? That combination basically feels custom-built for me.
Technically, this is connected to a previous novel in the “Adventureverse” world featuring different characters, and you can bet I’ll be picking that one up soon too. But don’t worry, Seaman’s Cove absolutely works as a standalone entry into the universe.
If you’re newer to omegaverse, I’d definitely recommend doing a quick dive into the basics beforehand. Terms like heats, knotting, slick, scents, and pack dynamics are woven naturally into the story, so having a little background knowledge will make the experience smoother.
The worldbuilding here was honestly one of my favorite parts. While the existence of mermen is unknown to society, the hunt for a lost city slowly opens the door to an entirely new hidden world. The mystery and discovery elements kept me fully invested the whole way through.
One thing I especially loved was how the pack dynamics developed. A lot of omegaverse stories start with an already established pack just waiting for their missing piece, but this one takes a different approach. None of the alphas are previously bonded, and each relationship is developed gradually throughout the story. It gives every character room to shine individually while still building believable chemistry between all of them. I was genuinely invested in every single character and already attached to this pack before the book even ended.
The tension throughout kept me glued to the pages, desperately hoping for their HEA while fully knowing there were still plenty of obstacles ahead. And after THAT ending, I absolutely cannot wait to dive back into this world and see where the story goes next.
Did I know that this book was going to be amazing...yes. Of course two of my favorite authors once again teamed up to cowrite this gem! And let me tell you what it was INCREDIBLE! I immediately fell in love with this FMC, she's a gorgeous omega that is determined to prove that she is more than just her designation. She's smart and feisty, despite her lack of support from her family and her awful experience from her previous pack. The MMCS.... my goodness... they had me immediately swooning...our very sweet, very fish out of water alpha (literally...iykyk), the broody professor alpha that is fighting his attraction to his student, the on again off again professor's alpha bestie that's a bit of a flirt ....and I feel like we've still got one more alpha that will eventually come into the picture for this future little pack. To say that this group has a bit of a challenge to over come is an understatement. There are so many moving parts and baggage these characters have to face before they can have their HEA....but I have faith! But one thing that comes naturally to ALL of them is that these Alphas are 100% dedicated to their omega...and they have no problem working as a team/pack to worship her! And lawd have mercybthey are HAWT together...it will have you needing to get a cold glass of water to cool down! Add in a lost underwater treasure/city....some personal baggage...a greedy previous pack...oh and of course some heat spikes and this duet is off to a phenomenal start! Now I just have to impatiently/patiently wait for the next book! I am counting down for more of these characters and this story!
Once again another book that has me glued to it. I inhaled it. Absorbed it. Couldn't put it down. I got laughter and so much overwhelming love for Phoenix and Caspian.
We've got Alpha's and an Omega. Now what makes this one different? A merman Alpha! I am so invested in their love and what is developing between them and sad that I have so long to wait. But it's fine...... it'll be fine. Now the other's....... Professor grumpy pants, Hunter and Phoenix are the remaining Alpha's. Phoenix is always on the go, away and with Seb or out doing things as he's a marine biologist. He's got a partner Seb who's a billionaire and not a people person and also not interested in a pack... Then Hunter the professor, dean. He can't be with her, but what happens when biology takes control? Our Omega is exactly as she should be. She's independent and strong willed and willing to go against her family's wishes. She eager with her thesis and her entire world view changes when she meets Caspian in a cave. Caspian not knowing English initially is awkward on land, doesn't know what things are and can't communicate. But one things for sure, his need for the Omega is so strong and next thing you know accidental bonding. Now what do you do when you're trying to find a sunken city, accidentally bonding a merman, lusting after your professor and find yourself falling for the Alpha who keeps cracking jokes?
I WILL KEEP RECOMMENDING THESE BOOKS. The pack that is forming is beautiful and so unique with their love for each other, their goals, and of course we also have Caspian who adds something entirely new. The tropes for the book are 100% on point and I cannot wait for part 2.
I received an advance review copy for free from Book Sirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved this so much that I'm off to preorder the second part of the duet (November seems so far away) and looking to grab the first book in the series (the first book isn't necessary to read this book).
"Spicy adventure story" was exactly what I had been looking for. You're pitching this as a reverse gender The Little Mermaid x Indiana Jones? Sign me up and give it to me now. And it delivered on what it promised!
Now, everything happens really fast in this book, with consensual bites happening at the 6% mark. I know, right? But the author does a good job building up the relationship after the fact (even if it felt a bit rushed, probably the biggest knock against the book). The pacing smooths out at the halfway mark, which allows you to settle in more with the relationships and the mystery.
This does feature MM content and everyone is hot for everyone else (which, let's be honest, is my reading wheelhouse). All of the characters feel balanced out (once you get past the rush of the beginning). I felt like each of them got a fair amount of page time. They might not be deeply developed characters, but they have been split up equally in the book. If I'm being a bit nitpicky, I think there could be more nuance in the way each one is written. At one point while reading this after a long day, it was sort of hard to tell (or remember) whose POV I was reading.
Maybe one negative: Branson and company aren't written well. They're like cliche high school bullies even though they should be in their mid 20s at least.
Warning: this does have a cliffhanger ending.
Final verdict: If you loved The Little Mermaid, Indiana Jones, or even National Treasure, but wanted them all gender bent, then this is absolutely for you. It wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed it so freaking much. I would recommend it to RH readers looking for poly relationships, treasure hunting, competent characters across the board.
This has very bit of humour and that sense of atlantis vibes that was promised! It flows so well from the first book in the series keeping that same sense of adventure mixed with the light hearted danger and low angst! The plot kept me invested, enjoyed the spicy scenes and had the ideal balance between them and the action scenes to keep you wanting more! The ending of this makes me wanting part two tomorrow if only it was possible! If you loved the first book in this universe then you'll enjoy this as equally!
This was definitely med to fast burn based on Madison's and Caspian's relationship but it takes away nothing from the relationship building and development! We all love the older professor and Hunter definitely delivers those vibes with a side of having a commanding presence. I'm loving Phoenix as the light hearted character whose very flirty and fun. Caspian is my current favourite with showing a slight bratty side to Hunter and adore his devotion and loving personality to Madison. Plus we have the mysterious Sebastian to make an appearance next time which I'm excited to see!

THIS WAS EVERYTHING I HAVE COME TO EXPECT FROM THIS DYNAMIC DUO!!!
Book number 2 in the Adventureverse series did not disappoint!
Right from the get go, I was swept up into Madi's story. I love the insta love between these characters and their thirst for adventure and knowledge.
Each interaction Madi has with Caspian, Hunter and Phoenix is well plotted and full of the heat that an Omegaverse calls for. Perfectly spicy without losing the plot, and my lawd, what a plot!
I adore the Adventureverse BECAUSE of it's adventuring (but also, the smut. It's delightful!)! It tempers the spice so nicely and gives you things to puzzle out and gasp over frequently.
I also love some good magical realism. Girl, give me a realistic plot and THEN ADD A MERMAN!! GAAAHHH! I love Caspian to no end!
This was the perfect follow up to Welcome to Bone Town and I CANNOT WAIT for part 2 of Welcome to Seaman's Cove to come out in November, 2026!
Oh my goodness!! For starters, I just want to say I loved Bone Town, but when I tell you I LOVED The Seaman’s Cove you should know I mean it! I absolutely loved Madi and how she was so determined and knew exactly what she wants! Caspian was the perfect merman and I won’t lie- the blue hair, tail, and eight-pack abs kinda did it for me. Now when Hunter (who is totally giving melt-my-pants-off-hot-mister-professor-sir vibes) came onto the page I was more than happy to sign up for his class 😉. And I love Phoenix! He made me laugh definitely more than once. But let us not forget Sebastian…I’m crossing all my fingers and toes on my theory of who he is. Ah I just love this book! It was fun, adventurous, creative, entertaining, and oh so steamy. This book being MMMF was the cherry on top in my humble opinion. I wish I had a time machine to November when I can read the next one, because that cliff hanger was a doozy! I can barely wait to see what happens next! 🤩
Thank you to Thea Masen & Clover Holloway for sending me the E-ARC💜 I had the absolute best time reading this!!
➕ - Seaman's Cove is a refreshing adventure, omegaverse, why choose (MMMF) that I devoured in a day. - Tropes: scent matches, professor x grad student, age gap, accidental bonding, best friends to lovers, "f*ck it". - 👏🏻 for our omega Madi, a brilliant and fearless woman in STEM. - Going into it, I thought Caspian🧜 would be my favorite. I mean, have you seen the character art?! But dang, Hunter is all alpha and has the dirtiest mouth, while Phoenix is fun, playful, and can pine with the best of them. - I love this world. I can't wait to find out more about the lost city Ocearus and the merpeople society.
➖ - Cliffhanger 😱. Even though I'm so happy we'll get to spend more time with Madi and her men, I'm going to be itching for part 2 until November!
Thank you to the authors for sending me an eARC. All opinions are my own.
I was hooked from the very beginning. Oh my gosh, I adore Madison. I love the vibe of "yeah I want to kiss him and yeah he's kind of in charge here but he can't tell me what to do." Watching the pack come together is incredibly satisfying. Phoenix is the funniest person any of them will ever meet, I swear. Caspian is just so genuinely sweet and kind. And Hunter is just fooling himself, all the way until he finally gives in to what both he and Madison want (and need). The adventure and mystery is so much fun. It's like a mix of Atlantis and Nancy Drew, on top of all the mermaid stuff. I was so tense during a handful of scenes. Like, I know they're going to be okay, but are they? The entire story of searching for the hidden city, Madison's family drama, and what the heck is going on with Caspian's family is just fascinating. I could not and did not put this book down. I knew this book would end on a cliffhanger, but man, what a cliff to be left on. I'm so desperate for part two.
I think this is my fourth ARC to read from Thea Masen and they do not disappoint. The book starts out as a typical omegaverse story, but then takes a twist into the fantastical by adding merpeople, among other mythical sea creatures. The story features typical broad array of alphas factor in and--perhaps--one of the shy betas that Masen writes so well...? It also features another former pack of bad guys of the sort that we often see from this author. I think that might actually be my least favorite attribute of the story though, because it's been done. But everything else felt new and interesting, and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!
Note: This book ends on a cliff-hanger. Be emotionally prepared.
Many thanks to BookSirens for an ARC in exchange for my honest assessment of this work.
ARC reader - Thanks to the authors & the BookSirens team !
This book is a brilliant example of what a perfect omegaverse romance is for me !
The FMC Madison is a curious , cunning and smart Omega. As for the rest of the pack we have some forbidden trope with one of the MMC , a stunning Merman , a wickedly cocky Alpha and some thrilling chase for a secret fairytale like underwater city in the mix ; we truly obtained an addictive read !
Thea Masen is a must buy author for me to start with; yet every single new release blows my mind. This is one of the best omegaverse I've read in a very long while !
The Authors did a fantastic job and I cannot wait for pat 2 to be out already ✨️🤌
“Holy f😮king mother of everything that is holy and unholy. He’s an honest to god merman!”
“Seaman’s Cove” continues the adventuring archaeologist world that Thea and Clover introduced us to in “Welcome to Bone Town”. In this two part book, we have a PhD student, her dissertation chair, and his marine BIologist best friend searching for a lost city where merpeople and humans lived together. This read does end on a cliffhanger, in the middle of the story. I am very much looking forward to the conclusion. Thea and Clover’s duo authored reads are some of my favorite.
MFMM HEAT SPIKES WEIRD CAVE CREATURES EX-PACK SHENANIGANS THEY ALL FALL FOR EACH OTHER MYSTERY BETA
This book is pure perfection! From start to finish I was hooked! And the ending!? I cannot wait for the next one to see what happens next!!
Madi’s determination to find the library but also navigating finding her scent matches. I was yelling a long with her at points at her awful past pack and parents.
I am a huge lover of the alpha omega trope and this book does it perfectly, I am so excited to see how seb gets added to the group. The add of a beta is going to make them all whole I just know it!!
November can’t come soon enough 💜
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I'm not gonna lie i got to 88% before I remembered it was part one LOL I was like how are they gonna wrap all this up in 12% LOL The ending man. I'm not saying I'm wishing the year away but damn I need book 2 now! Also i still have a theory and that I think is still going to come true but I definitely thought that was how the book was going to end and when it went a different way I was in shock! I couldn't tell you who my favourite was but I loved all three guys so much all for different reasons! So yeah.. I'm gonna need book 2 please *cries*
What do you mean I have to wait until November for part 2!! I love a good MMMF and Welcome to Seaman’s Cove hits the spot. While you don’t have to read Welcome to Bone Town before, I think the overall background really sets up this book. This book gives Atlantis meets sexy little mermaid meets older professor 😍
When I say I devoured this book, I quite literally stayed up until 2am to finish. Between the action and 🌶️, this book had me hooked! I honestly never knew what was coming and I’m sooo psyched for part 2 to come out later this year.
First and foremost I want to say the cliffhanger makes me want to flip a fucking table. I enjoy everything about this It combined some of my favorite things mermen friends lovers, student professor, and the biggest of them all omegaverse. Like it's so much going on but it all just works together so perfectly. I just can't believe how it ended and I have to wait to freaking November for the ending. That is so unfair.
After really enjoying Welcome to Bonetown I was looking forward to reading the next book in this world and it didn't disappoint. There's so much action, intreege, and plot that I couldn't put it down. The pack dynamic is complex, but each of the characters are so well-rounded that you really care about their relationships. The spice is well placed and superhot and as it ends on a cliffhanger, I'll be counting down the days till part 2. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
What a Rollercoaster! This story is about Madison, who single at the start ends up diving the men that complete her even if her exs get in the way. Caspian, Phoenix and hunter are three vet different men but each one completely is in love with Madison. But who is the mysterious Seb.
This series already looks like it's going to be absinthe, these authors are a favorite duo of mine and in so glad I got c to be an ARC reader!
Oh man, I really hope this is a rapid release because that cliffhanger was killer.
This is such a cool and unique Omegaverse Romance that is full of angst and adventure. The beginning starts with a spicy bang and the spice keeps coming afterwards. But there is also so much sweetness.
I cant wait for book two, because there’s so much more to come. The pack is a bit of a mess in book one but it adds to the angst of the story. Anxious readers, I don’t believe the angst will give you trouble.
I was absolutely obsessed with Bone Town and now this book has just jumped up to one of my favourite books. I absolutely love the lore, the creatures, and the artifacts that were described. I loved the characters and how they came together. I can't want to see how the story progresses and the pack adjusts. I also hope my guess about Seb is right!
*I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.*
Blend up this book and inject it directly into my veins! I loved every minute of this one. I especially loved that each of the men had a distinct personality and backstory--a problem I run into often in omegaverse. I cannot WAIT until the conclusion!
Omegaverse with merman!! This was a twist I didn’t know I needed. Madison has been told she was crazy, that Ocearus doesn’t exist but in her search she found more than she bargained for.
Merman, her dean at college, and her dean’s best friend all join her in the search and may all be her alpha’s as well.
It ends on a cliffhanger so be prepared and I can’t wait for book two.
This is a cool story. Things start off quick and never really slow down. Madi ends up in an unexpected situation with a total stranger who doesn’t even speak her language. Things continue to snowball while uncovering a hidden city with unknown dangers. We get some good spice even with all the craziness going on. There is of course a cliffhanger and I am so excited for part two.
I loved this book! I received it as an ARC. I adore a good ProfesserxStudent! The power imbalance thing is hard to do correctly and it was done perfectly! I feel like this book was very different compared to most Omegaverse books but in the best ways!
How fun! A mix of National Treasure and adult Dora the Explorer. This was very light hearted and easy to consume, easy plotline and story with lovely main characters. Big cliffhanger at the end, so be prepared. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
