Built Different: The Complete Guide To Australian Cattle Dogs

Rate this book
The breed that will outsmart you, outlast you, and love you harder than you knew a dog could.
Written by a dedicated Cattle Dog owner, this no-nonsense guide tells the truth about living with one of the most intelligent, driven, and demanding breeds in the world.
Normally a fiction author, Greg Morgan adopted an unwanted Australian Cattle Dog who became his best friend. Through that bond, he discovered just how intelligent, loyal, and extraordinary this demanding breed truly is — and why life with a Cattle Dog is unlike life with any other dog. That’s why he wrote this book.
No fluff. No clichés. Just practical, real-life guidance from someone who understands the early mornings, the relentless energy, the laser focus — and the unmatched loyalty.
Inside you’ll
• Whether this breed truly fits your life
• Why their working-dog origins still shape their behavior today
• How to train a dog that needs to understand why
• The exercise and mental structure that prevent chaos
• Real solutions for reactivity, guarding, anxiety, and obsessive habits
• What daily life actually looks like — and why it’s worth it
“You chose a hard breed. You chose a breed that asks more of you than you thought a dog could ask. And you chose a breed that will give you more in return than you thought a dog could give.”

User manual for owners of blue/red heelers. Caution: owners should expect 15-year (or more even) commitment, at great expense of dollars and time, with bringing in very intelligent being into your home and family. Book is a great short how to guide on what to expect and know.
