Ok, Skye von Triessen, you win…I, FINALLY, like Lane.

As “expected”, this was quite the emotional journey. Filled with angst, heartfelt moments, so much love and of course enough steam to overcook your veggies, Unexpected Us gives us one last tribute to Miranda and Lane. With several appearances by their good friends, Alexandra, (my favourite) and Blake, we witness Miranda and Lane’s highest moments before their world comes crashing down around them.
It’s sad to say goodbye to these characters, but I’m glad that, what was Meant to Be, may have been Unexpected, but everyone gets their HEA.

A Heartfelt End Of A Era💕

I wanted this story so bad. The characters of Lane & Miranda deserved it. Thanks Skye for taking us on a journey that had us smiling, laughing and crying. There was so much in this book that had us reeling. With all that was going on, the only thing that stood out through it all was Love. It is a special story that included our other heroines Alexander & Blake. We got to go deep and see the relationships of both couples go through their pain and their loves. Their fights and their sorrows. Their drama and accomplishments. It was the story we wanted. I am okay to say goodbye. Thanks Skye for delivering a spectacular Grand Finale for both series!

Literally did not put this down until finished

I have not yet met a Skye Von Triessen book that I didn’t love but this series (alone with the meant to be series) in particular have been so deeply impactful. I finished this book in a day because I literally could not put it down.

I love the characters that are so well developed and consistent throughout, the spice is hot and realistic, and the real life scenarios faced prove that life long love is possible.

Skye, please do not ever stop writing.

Excellent!

Excellent! The story was absolutely captivating from the very first page. The plot is beautifully written and full of twists that keep you completely engaged, constantly wanting to know what happens next. If you enjoy romance novels with a compelling storyline, emotional depth, and moments that make it impossible to put the book down, this one is definitely worth reading. I couldn’t stop turning the pages and finished it faster than I expected because I just had to see how it all unfolded. Highly recommended it.

What an end to this series.

This book takes everything we’ve come to love about Lane and Miranda and pushes it further. It’s emotional, a little angsty, and full of those moments that make you stop and just sit with what’s happening. Their relationship is really put to the test here, and while there are some heavy moments, what stands out the most is how solid they are together. No matter what’s thrown at them, they face it as a unit, and that felt true to everything the series has built so far.

The story itself is really engaging. There’s enough going on to keep you hooked the whole way through, with a few turns that keep things interesting without feeling overdone. It’s one of those books that’s easy to get lost in, where you keep turning the pages without realising how far you’ve gone.

I also loved seeing familiar faces again. The friendships and support around them add so much warmth to the story, and it rounds everything out nicely. It never feels like it’s just about the romance, it’s about the people around them too.

There are some tougher themes explored here, and I thought they were handled with care. Nothing felt thrown in for shock value, it all fit naturally into the story and added to the emotional depth.

Overall, this felt like a really fitting conclusion. It’s emotional, engaging, and gives Lane and Miranda the ending they deserve. Definitely one of my favourite reads of the year.

To read Skyler Von Triessen is to walk through a gallery of the human spirit. In these two series, I didn't just turn pages; I traced the scars and celebrated the victories of women who refuse to be broken.
Through the lives of Miranda and Lane, and the unfolding world of Blake and Alexandra, I found a mirror for the heart’s most complex rhythms. One moment, I was caught in the bright, sudden melody of their laughter; the next, I was submerged in the quiet, aching salt of their tears.
Von Triessen possesses a rare, poetic alchemy—turning the heavy lead of trauma and trial into the gold of true resilience. These women are not just 'strong characters'; they are breathing monuments to what it means to survive and then, finally, to flourish.
I gave these stories my hours, and in return, they gave me a new perspective on courage. To Miranda, Lane, Blake, and Alexandra: thank you for letting me walk beside you. To Sky: thank you for the beautiful, devastating, and ultimately healing journey. My heart is fuller for having known them.

Unexpected Us is a book that I never knew I needed, but am so glad that I picked up! Miranda and Lane are so beautifully written that, after spending time with them over the years, they honestly feel like friends. Their love story has its fair share of ups and downs, but no matter what life throws at them, they face it all the same way…together. The depth of their love is so powerful that even the most heartbreaking circumstances can’t shake what they share.

The people around them, friends and family, add so much to the story too, offering support, comfort, and those much-needed shoulders to lean on. I also really appreciated how thoughtfully the book handles tough societal issues, doing so with care and respect.

This is definitely a story that’s going to stay with me for a long time. It’s emotional, beautifully written, and absolutely one I’d recommend.

In 2022 I took a chance when I downloaded Skye’s very first novel If it’s meant to be and it was probably one of my best decisions that year. I fell in love with Blake and Alexandra and in doing so I got to meet the characters of Delaney and Miranda. Fast forward to now after finishing Unexpected Us, I am saddened their story is complete, but I am so happy I got to watch their love story unfold. The passion and love that Skye put into this story is so deeply moving that my words falter on how to describe what I felt reading this book. In closing I will say that the love and energy you put into Blake, Alexandra, Miranda, Delaney’s characters will always hold a special place in my heart. Your storytelling of these characters got me through some dark days, so take a bow Skye, you’ve earned a round of applause ❤️

Holy Fuck!

Skye Von Triessen knows what she’s doing.

It’s officially the end for Blake, Alexandra, Miranda and Delaney.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each of their journeys.
But this book is my absolute favourite 🫶🏽
I sat with myself after finishing and asked myself the same question over and over again.

Would I have the same courage as Miranda to stay?

I’ve never been in love but I have faith in myself to say with 90% certainty that I would.

Triessen writes as if she’s living the experience herself. Like she embodies both Delaney and Miranda at different end of the spectrum. One who doesn’t remember and the one who does.

A fan for life 🫶🏽

What an Ending

I have loved Skye’s writing ever since I first read Meant to Be. I remember seeing an Instagram post with one of the best quotes, it may be heel related 😏 But it had me wanting to know more.

The Unexpected series is no different. It was so easy to fall in love with Lane and Miranda. Being able to see their chemistry grow has been a lovely journey. Although, I will say there are times when I really want to throttle Skye for her plot twists. Girl, let your characters breathe for a hot minute lol.

This was such a beautiful ending to Lane and Miranda’s story. You should definitely check it out.

I had to go back and start from the first book in the series again as I usually do when it's been a while in between books. The character of Lane is obviously someone at first interaction, is a real turn off. Her persistent dirty flirting with Miranda every time they were in the same vicinity had me wondering when Miranda would just slap that smirk off her face. Every time they would banter back and forth you just knew there was a chance and with any good author, you would start to look forward to this happening. I loved the ending, at first I wondered why the niece was thrown into the book but it made sense to show another side of Lane.

Wow!

It’s a privilege to be able to read something written by Skye! Her books draw you in and literally never let you go! Reading the first 4 chapters made me realize I needed 2 things-a cold shower and a very large box of tissues! And that theme continued throughout the book! Honestly more tears were shed but they were rewarded with an amazing ending that ends this series on a beautiful note! Now if you will excuse me-I’m going to go back and read the entire series again! 5 🌟

Everything the characters deserved!!

I absolutely loved this entire series. I was obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy for so long when I first jumped into the Meant to Be series I almost passed out! I was addicted immediately. Then came Lane and Miranda’s story and just wow. You can’t go wrong with either series. The characters are dynamic and fun. They grow together through both series and Skye gave them all such a beautiful ending in the epilogue. I can wait for this to come out on audio so I can listen to it on repeat.

Wonderful Ending

An Unexpected Us was such a beautiful ending to Lane and Miranda is story. They were exceptional characters and I absolutely loved their relationship. Even though parts of the story were a little heartbreaking, the strength of their loved and the way they overcame such a big obstacle together made it incredible powerful. They found their way break to each other and that's all we wanted. I'm sad the series had come to an end but it truly finished on such a wonderful and meaningful note.

💚 Enemies to lovers (ish)
💚 Book three (please read book 1 and 2 before this one)

Ahh this book really ripped my heart up and slowly put it back together 🥺 I LOVED Lane and Miranda in book one and two and this finale did not disappoint. It’s the end, so it’s definitely bittersweet 🥺 but all I can say is PLEASE read this series. It’s so worth it. I’ll be over here slowly trying to recover from the book slump that’s about to hit 😫

And if you’ve read Skye’s books before, you already know she’s bringing the spice 😏 it’s definitely giving angst, tension and emotional damage but so worth it 🔥

Cheers to Them

Was excited to read the final book about Miranda and Lane. Ms. Skye out did herself with this book. She showed us that they are real soul mates from the very beginning. The love that each of them have for each other and the trust. With all the twist we see them survive and never giving up but be there for each other. As the say goes " The Heart knows what it wants". A wonderful book but an outstanding series sad to see it end.

I’m late to the party but happy I made it

This series is so well written. I’ve never read anything from Skye and I stared with this series. Yes I know the ment to be series is available and it’s on my list to read/listen. I wanted to ensure I was done with the story first. So now I get go back and immerse myself in this universe. Only criticism Delandry Mailaine - was not a fan.

Other than those two names together. LOVED THE SERIES! Thank you for this gift

Brilliant trilogy

This has been quite a journey with the 3 books in this series, finishing with Delaney and Miranda and the relationship they share, which is super loving and 🔥, we re visit our friends from previous books Alexandra and Blake with a sweet family.
There is of course twists and turns throughout but at last a wonderful conclusion to a great series. Thanks so much.

Fall in Love Over Again with Miranda and Lane

First and foremost, Skye thank you adding a third book to this series. You didn’t have, but you did and allowed us super fans of this storyline to have closure. Miranda and Lane are my absolute favorite and this book is the cherry on top. I fell in love with them, again. This book made me laugh, cry and fall in love.

a sexy playlist of a book

When you have a background of romantic sex inducing songs playing in the background of your mind as you read a book until five in the morning.
All I can say, please give me more.
Thank you for sharing your passion. I’m sorry for your loss. I felt it in certain sections of the novel.

10 Stars

I usually give most books I read 5 stars unless I really just didn't feel it. This book however deserves 10 stars. I know there was a lot going on in some parts, but the love between the two MCs was undeniable. The writing was great and I could really feel everything throughout. I highly recommend this book and all the others written by this author.

Thank you for a beautiful conclusion. I didn’t realize there was a third installment. I had just finished rereading Blake and Alexandra’s story and was about to reread Lane and Miranda’s story but was not patient enough to start from the beginning.
I am glad it all worked out for these two. I love Miranda. She deserved her happy ending.

Beautiful end to a story forever in our hearts!

This last book touched my heart in so many ways! With each book you connect with these characters of strong women who fight for love, love deeply, build careers, families, and a story that will last a life time. I can’t wait to circle back and read these stories again!

Unexpected

Man, this book was a total page-turner! The plot kept me guessing, and I couldn't put it down. Like the other books in the series, it really made me think. The chemistry between characters was super intense, and they felt so real that I got totally invested. Kinda bummed that Miranda, Lane, Blake, and Alexander's stories are wrapping up.

A great ending to a series

What a lovely way to complete a series. Lane and Miranda’s great love is tested. The reader also gets a taste of Alexandra and Blake and their life. Thoroughly enjoyable and spicy.
