One smile. One damn beautiful smile infected my heart and soul with such a force that I nearly exploded. All hopes of afterlife and the eagerness to leave this one vanished with that one handsome smile.
Thump.
My heart gave one painful thud and began beating for the first time in its life.
And then he spoke. The beautiful smile had an even more beautiful voice. And with each word, each joke, and, eventually, each touch, I intertwined my soul so intricately with his that I never had a chance of letting go. I fell in love. And suddenly, life wasn’t long enough.

‘Til Death.

This is bad. But oh so good. The first kiss we shared was a glimpse into her soul. Her past. Her pain. This kiss is yet another glimpse into her soul. This time, fire and heat. And me.
The thought of her in eternal, torturous agony sends rage swirling in my veins. She can’t die. She can’t go to Hell. It doesn’t make sense. Then a dark thought enters my mind. I’ll protect her. Forever.

MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 4.25 Stars (pushed to 5 on the GR scale since I really have no 'cons' to reading it!)

I knew Alpha & Omega was a novella (200 pages) going into it, I am not usually one to read novella since they usually aren't well written and the cliff hangers are painful, but sometimes I like my books short and sweet and therefore indulge only to be constantly let down. To my surprise, Alpha & Omega was a hit and I was not disappointed!

PROS:

🔥 - Alpha & Omega is short, sweet, and engaging with a simplistic (but not mundane) plot.

🔥 - The characters are intriguing and I enjoyed the female protagonist, Lark. She's badass with vulnerability.

🔥 - It must be said, I LOVE the cover art! It is soooo different from the standard contemporary or paranormal romance novels, it really sucked me in.

🔥 - I have now read a few of K. Webster's books and this might be on the top of my list. For a novella that is quite a kudos to Miss Webster as an author!

🔥 - The book leads into the next novel without a cliffhanger, instead it will focus on another main character, Omega.

CONS:

☠️ - I actually don't remember (nor have noted) anything I disliked about the book except perhaps the length which shortens the depth of character development. As I mentioned before though, I was in the mood for a novella at the time.

BOTTOM LINE:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - my opinion is short & sweet just like the book, READ IT!

I read a fantastic prologue. Then, things turn to shit....

It's Just A Little Bat Shit, Robin

description

Did I mistakenly enter the cheesiest episode of Batman and Robin ever not made by some 40-something housewife alternating between talking like her 12-year-old son and 98-year-old granny ?

Seriously...

"Omega calls my hair the chick magnet."

"Apparently, I'm what the females call 'a hottie.'

"The females here call Omega dreamy. Hottie and Dreamy. We kick ass and were good looking motherfuckers too. This life is a pretty sweet one, I tell you. "

description

Not digging the too cool for school high school soap opera persona. These are characters in their late twenties, NOT TEENS!

Not digging the writing flavor at all.

description

Chicks "purr" and "growl like a puppy."

MMC says there's a "word on the street , a "gossip mill." , and it "smarts" when he gets hit by a girl.

Alfa male?

I think the author confused Alfa Male with ...

description

She tells him they can't be friends, lovers, or whatever because he isn't being honest. He replies:

"What? Why not?"

She reiterates that he needs to be honest about not being a "secret government" worker {lmao}. He replies:

"I'm an alien and I've come to snatch your body."

The male voices are beyond childish.

description

The FMC, despite being morose and depressed, could've, would've saved the day IF her brain wasn't catatonic for over 30% of the book.

description

Her brain revives itself at some point and she starts asking questions, but by that time, IDGAF my own damn self. And, the answers she believes .. TSTL.

Plot

He's an almost angel sent down as a human to protect a bad, evil woman until she's supposed to die and be collected three months later.

He and his kind have already died a human death, but they have no idea who they once were. He's immortal, but whatever happens to his body as a human now will be carried over to his angel body.

After a tragedy in her past, her heart is closed for business and her soul already dead. All that's left is a body & mind waiting to die.

Can he withstand temptation long enough to pass his final assignment and get his angel wings? Is she really the bad "thug" his superiors claims, or is she just a sad, lonely woman waiting to die and needing to be saved?

This would be a fine enough plot IF it wasn't so fucking unbelievably weird, unrealistic, and OTT.

description

Give me a unicorn... Fine! Give me a unicorn that speaks 10 languages, karate chops dinosaurs, and sits behind a desk at the Oval Office planning world domination via tampon Toxic Shock Syndrome ... Not so fine. My point? Even fantasy has to have some logic and believably to ground it.

Character reaction/action believability is a huge problem here.

EXAMPLE:

Dude shows up out of no mfing no where & demands I eat because I'm emaciated. When I don't, he follows me barefoot, cuts up his feet, and then says he needs to go to a church to clean them?

Do I run? Do I ask myself wtf would he go to a church to clean his feet? Do I wonder wth some random dude gives two shits about my safety, well being, and weight? Do I take any issue with some random mofo trying to force feed me at EVERY meal?

Uhm, hell yea...

description

Clearly, the FMC is not me~

Instead, she has breakfast with him and complies to his orders of eat, eat, and eat after only knowing the dude hours and him saying shit like:

"You're mine for three months, Lark. Then you can go on your merry little way."

I get that this chick has an IDGAF mentality about her life, but she's got enough self-preservation to not want to be molested by her meth head neighbor, right? So, she should have enough to at least give mental pause to some of the weird shit her new buddy does and says, a lot of which ends up sounding deadly familiar~

At this point, there's only one thing tethering me to this book... I want to know why the chick is such a train wreck. What the hell is in that box?

Secrets

description

Secrets spill from the box and her body in chapter 11. The second her story is told, the dots to the larger plot connect. The author does try to sweeten the pot by introducing a new secret in the form of a deal with a she-devil.

Ehh, I'm bored at this point w/ bad poetry attempts, piggy back rides, cheese sauce, and ghosts floating around in her brain.

Anyway,..

What to do, what to do? The bad and good guy are against them. He finally spills the beans in the most vague, roundabout way possible saying two companies, one bad and one good, are after them.

She believes this lame shit.

She suggest running away to her parent's house. His oh so Alpha response:

"You want me to meet your parents? What if they don't like me?

description

My Last Straw

73%

They have decided to run from the heaven, hell, and all the in between.

He only has $60 in his wallet.

They walk by a random homeless man asking for food and money.

The MMC hands him ALL
their money & the shoes off his feet.

description

Kinda hard to run with no FING shoes or money.

Bottom Line

1) I love para books. I don't like silly and absurd weirdness covered in cheese sauce.

2) It's always a mistake to make the shell of your characters adultly morse & explicit while their voices mimic a teenage soap opera. It makes the content too mature for YA readers and the characters too immature for most adult and NA readers.

Alpha & Omega follows the story of Alpha and Lark. All Alpha has ever wanted was to get his wings. He's worked hard for the past 6 years, proving his worth to HEA corp. His partner Omega, has been with him every step of the way. They are the dynamic duo. Nothing can stand in their way. All is going well for them on the path to getting their wings. They will each be faced with one more task. This final assignment will take away their angelic powers. They will have to live like humans. Their task: protect the life of their assigned human, until their time comes. Sounds easy enough, right? Wrong! They will also have to deal with Lovenia, one of HEL's top Leviathans, to stir up trouble. But, what will happen when Alpha starts developing feelings for his charge? Will he break the rules in the name of love? Will Alpha ever get his wings?? Are Alpha and Omega doomed to fail??

To say that I loved this book would be an understatement. It's no secret that I'm a big fan of K. Webster's work. Add in paranormal aspects and I'm sold! This book reminded me of why I love this genre in the first place and has reignited my love for paranormal romance. I can only hope this review will do this book justice for how I feel about it.

Alpha & Omega is beautifully written and will soon have realizing that nothing is as it seems. This story was so refreshing and at times, heartbreaking. The love and romance, timeless. It will have you asking questions. What would you be willing to sacrifice for love? Does your soul know truly when it finds it's other half? Is this fate or just coincidences?

This story pulled me in from the very first sentence. I was so intrigued with the story-line. It was like a breath of fresh air. I couldn't wait to know more and I found myself just devouring this book. I fell in love with the characters instantly. Their struggles made so real.

I loved all the great twists and turns. There were times where I couldn't believe what was happening. I was left breathless in anticipation, wondering what would happen next.I had to know if my theories of what was going on were correct or not. And it was so much fun discovering all those answers!

Alpha & Omega took me on one incredible ride. It is a beautiful story about second chances, romance, sacrifice, and soul mates. I loved everything about this story. It had the perfect ending, with no cliffhanger. That being said, it does set up Omega's story perfectly and that is one that I can't wait to dive into!

Alpha and Omega are partners trying to become Seraph Guardians and get their wings. They are minders and have been for 6 years. They work for HEA Corp. They have one final assignment before that can happen. Alpha and Omega are the top dogs at HEA and everyone knows how wonderful they are. They truly deserve to get their wings.

Alpha's assignment is Lark Miller. She is dark and evil, that's what he knows from her file. She's severely depressed and addicted to drugs. Alpha must keep her alive for 3 months until the Reaper goes to her to take her to HEL. Omega's assignment is Lark's neighbor. The dynamic duo must do everything in their power to keep these two alive for 3 months until their time is up. Only, Alpha finds himself in trouble and starts to fall for the depressed drug addict. He follows her around everywhere she goes and becomes her friend. In the process, he realizes she's not the person he thought she was. What will Alpha do to protect her? Will he be able to save her while trying to save himself? He crosses some lines and breaks rules.

Now I will be the first to say that I didn't know if I would enjoy this book. Well, joke was on me. I loved it! It was amazing and nothing is as it seems. That's all I will say. It's twisted! I don't know how else to describe it. There are some twists that totally got to me, absolutely shattered my heart to read about Lark's past. I didn't blame her for never wanting any sort of relationship with "Al" after all she's been through, but Al is wonderful, nobody can turn him away. He's charming and sexy, he will do anything to protect her.

I cannot wait to read Omega and Love's book. Their characters were in this book and I just hated Lovenia with a passion! I hope she rots in HEL forever. Omega deserves to have a HEA, so I'm definitely looking forward to reading more on him.

4 Freaking AMAzzzzing Book Stars

I was onto this book since many weeks , but somehow couldn't get to read it. Finally one day I fought all the obstacles on my way and sat to read dis... and it blew my mind.

The book started off with an interesting prologue & the more I read, the more invested I became. I was literally hanging on each word, it was so lyrical and yet it also felt as it held some clues.

Alpha is ... what can I say.. ALPHA, he is Strong-Passionate-Protective hero, even though he was trained to play by the rules , he fought against it all for what he knew was right. He is amazing , man....

Lark , at the first sight she seems as broken , damaged , woman, but beneath it all she harbors the pain of losing her soul, her love , and yet she goes to teach kids, no matter how much broken she is, nothing can dose the light of her heart. She is amazing

All the philosophical punches and the whole balance of GOOD vs EVIL , was packaged in this beautiful paranormal-fantasy novel , a place no one would expect it to be.

The writing was so good , I was sucked into , & felt the sadness consuming me , then again the author threw the rope of hope, & I held onto it, keeping my heartbeat steady.

The ending was quite a googly , & I am glad , it was done in such a beautiful way , completing all the pieces of the puzzle , and not letting single piece to waste... Phew.. I was damn scared , the epilogue would ruin me... but it didn't. I am also very much interested in reading what happens to Omega & Love , and would they meet Alpha again....

Me when a new K. Webster book comes out.

I don't normally read paranormal but when the cover says "K Webster", I'm in.

Lark has always been dark. She felt she was better equiped for the next life than for this one. She never thought she had a heart. Until she gave it away. And then had it taken away.

"I met a boy...And when he smiled, my life began."

Alpha has a job to do. He really wants the promotion that comes with the completion of this job. No problem....three months. In and Out. Done.

But all that is Lark wasn't in the file. Because Lark hasn't been all there for six years.

I cry for the woman I never got to be, for the woman I have become.

I loved Alpha & Omega. It was emotional, suspenseful, sexy, and very different. Not a formula book. I loved the connection between Alpha and Lark. And Lark's struggle to reconcile being happy with what she has been for years. Numb. Content with being Numb.

Pick this one up. It is heavenly.

Alpha & Omega is simply breathtaking, utterly romantic, mysterious.

"I met a boy," I admit. "And when he smiled, my life began."

The story begins with two best friends, Alpha & Omega , being assigned their final case(s) before moving up the ranks. Unfortunately their cases aren't as easy as they think. Then, Alpha meets Lark, and suddenly everything is not as it seems.

description

Alpha is confident, sometimes cocky and hilarious. Lark is heavily tattooed, snarky and is going through some really heavy stuff in her life. Behind each ink line, there's a story hidden so deep into her skin.

"She's Heaven and Hell in one delicious package."

"...but her file failed to mention the sparkle of a sea of emeralds that twinkles in her eyes. The file never mentioned the way her smile lights up her entire face and breathes life into her soul. The f*cking file never mentioned that some woman would cloud every single lesson and training I've ever received with just one look."

The characters are really well thought out, even the ones that made me want to hop inside the book and throttle them. I really enjoyed the banter between the characters. The plot, oh my God, the plot. One word. Incredible. I can't stop raving about this book, it's worth every cent. I highly recommend this story.

"If you were mine, I'd never leave you," he murmurs as he traces the curve.

Right?!! This story is packed with some really great swoonworthy moments, sad and laugh-out-loud moments.

I'm looking forward to Omega & Love's story.

This book is an irresistible tale. It sends you on a roller coaster ride of emotions from start to finish. I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love with these characters. K. Webster has done it again!! She is simple amazing.
Lark miller is a woman that has given up. She's got a lot of sass and heart but you don't know it upon meeting her. She's strong willed and sot burn as a nod.
Alpha is as his name entails. He is a total alpha sent by HEA corp to look out for Lark. He's tall, dark and handsome and totally swoon worthy. And he has an overwhelming urge to get to know lark and take care of her no matter what. Things don't go according to his plan at all. But you will see what I mean once you read this book. You will understand that everything happens for a reason and to never give up. This book is inspiring and you will all love it. I highly recommend it!! It's truly a tale worth reading. Definitely five stars!!! I couldn't put it done once I got started and I don't think you will be able to either!! HAPPY READING!!!

"We bite. We suck. We take. We own."

"Call me Lark. If you cook for me, maybe I'll eat more often. "
"I haven't cooked in years."
"I haven't eaten in years."

I hadn't read a PR book in a while. I love this book. Short, sweet, and heartbreaking at times!! Alpha is truly an amazing man. Lark is a broken woman trying to pass time with the living. At times this book didn't feel paranormal at all. I really enjoyed Lark and Alpha. They had their funny, sad, and sexy moments.

"Smiles are evil, but that laugh is the devil"- Lark

"Smiles are evil. Her laugh is heavenly" -Alpha

K. Webster is one of my must read authors and the most versatile romance writer I know. She moves through tropes and sub genres so easily and I was so excited to read Alpha & Omega, a twisted take on guardian angel romance.

Alpha is a minder in HEA Corp training to become Seraph Guardian and Lark Miller is his final assignment. He has to keep her safe for three months and then he will get his wings. He didn’t expect her to be completely opposite of the information in files. She is broken and lost and he will break all rules to save her, even at the cost of punished to be a reaper working for HEL corp.

This has issues related to grief, loss and mental health so read responsibly. I expected Alpha to be an alpha. But at beginning of the story, he came across a bit immature. The premises of the story wasn’t very believable to me. Lark is depressed and has zero wish to live after losing her love but Alpha kind of burged into her life and she let him..though slowly. I liked her grumpy brooding personality that still has so much love to give. Their chemistry felt a bit forced to me. Only towards the end, I started feeling Alpha to be the protective alpha I expected him to be. It was an interesting and clever take on the heaven, hell, angels and devil. The puzzle pieces were definitely put together very nicely. And I absolutely loved the ending. The way Lark and Alpha got their happily ever after and how their Souls were bound together for a long time but they didn't get to know that..it was beautiful. I wanted to see a bit more angst and a bit more build up.

Alpha & Omega was a beautiful story but also contained tragedy and loss love.
Lark is just drifting through life with so much sadness and loss. Alpha has been sent to protect her for 3 months. But not all is how it seems. Lark has been portrayed as a really bad person but Alpha sees so much good when he gets to know her that he is convinced that the corporation has painted the wrong picture.
I loved this story because it gave all the feels, love lost, immense sadness, a sprinkle of hope, and finally found love.
Beautiful story 💘

Alpha & Omega Duet by K Webster is the First book in the Duet Alpha & Omega. This starts the story of Omega and Alpha. Alpha and Omega have one last assignment before full fledged Seraph Guardians. To do their assignment they are turned into humans who are assigned a person to look after /into. Alpha is assigned to Lark Miller who isn't what he has been told. Lark is a tattoo artist so her looks are deceiving but there is more to her story. Omega is looking into Pedro but Lovenia is who has captured his attention. The next book Omega and Love delve further into their story.

I have never read anything by K. Webster that I haven’t loved, but Alpha & Omega is one of her best creations yet! This book is incredibly unique and creative, I was absolutely enthralled from the first second. In this paranormal romance, the author took the idea of angels, Heaven, & Hell, and built a world that I could almost believe existed!
Alpha is just as his name suggests. He’s strong in body and personality, determined, and focused on doing his job. And yet, there is a soft and compassionate side that hints at a mystery behind him, something we are desperate to discover. The dry wit and repartee between Alpha and his partner Omega, had me laughing. They are given a final test to join an elite force of guardian angels and their assignments are the most challenging of their existence…that they can remember, of course. Alpha is given the task of keeping a disturbed young woman alive. He is given restrictions that make his job all that much harder, but his attraction to her is a major problem. To make matters more complicated, Alpha begins to have memories of his previous life, which is a big no-no.
Lark is a dark and devastated young woman. Tragedy surrounds her life and to be honest, with what she has lost, I can’t say I wouldn’t have traveled down her destructive path as well. My first reaction to her was certainly not to love her. However, I saw immediately that she was broken, and my compassion for her gave way to like eventually. She also possesses a sarcastic humor that is razor sharp and at times, very amusing.
Lark and Alpha learn more about each other and they find a surprisingly deep connection with each other. But, the rules of Alpha’s job and the temptations placed in their way the one determined to see them fail, stack the odds against them.
This book is an intense read, full of angst, intrigue, and passion. The secondary characters are just as compelling and complex as Lark and Alpha. The weave the structure of the story, and give the plot depth. You’ll love to hate, Love (pun intended). You’ll be intrigued and repelled by Luc all at the same time. Alpha’s superiors seem good, but are so confusing. Omega is easy to love and his story begins in Alpha & Omega, but will be completed in Omega & Love.
This book is definitely a must read! If you’ve never read anything by K. Webster, this is a fabulous place to start! There aren’t enough stars to give for this book!

Alpha and Lark are two of the most likable characters you will ever have the pleasure to read about. Coming down from my post Algasm...let me just say this book is like… WOW. I fell in love with this story from the very first page. Everything just flowed so perfect and the more I read the more I fell in love. It’s not often all dynamics of a book work like the story, dialogue, characters and even the back characters, but Ms. Webster pulled it off in this one.

Lark has stopped looking for the light and has chosen to barely exist over the last few years. She has experienced loss that no person should ever experience. She’s not living she is just biding time on earth until she can find a way to be with the ones she loved so completely.

Her angel in disguise comes in the form of one god like, good looking and overly protective man. Just Al never imagined the pull he would feel to Lark and once the two meet the fireworks and arguments begin.

I love seeing an author step out and do something a little different with their writing and this was done so beautifully, that you would think this would be her normal. I found myself smiling so much during the dialogue of Al and Lark that I was consumed with the story and how it would eventually end.

Love this world that K. Webster has created with Alpha & Omega. Alpha & Omega are agents for HEA working to get their “wings”. They are on their final assignment and it is something that changes them both forever. Enter Lark Miller, Alpha’s final assignment, and Omega is tasked to watch over her neighbor. This book is an emotional world wind. The pain that Lark is dealing with is palpable. Al is the intense protector and fighter you sense he has always been. I felt the pull from these two from their first meeting.

I found myself reading and flipping through the pages as fast as I could. I wanted to know more. I wanted to know why these two were so drawn to one another. Lark has suffered a loss so great you understand how she has become this person. I may have chewed a thumbnail or two off while reading this book. There is also another story going on with Alpha’s partner, Omega, which builds and sucks you in further into the world at HEA and HEL. I found myself asking how in the H-E-L-L is K. Webster going to make this ok, because it totally had to be OK. I was more than pleased with this book and the prologue, just…..Ahhhhhh! This is definitely a favorite of mine in the paranormal romance genre. Read it, you won’t be disappointed!

What can I say but another fantastic read by this fantastic author. Alpha and Omega is the story of two angels in training looking to move up to becoming full Guardian Angels with that they must complete their final assignments to achieve their goals but fate gets in their way and emotions enter the picture and all Hell breaks literally loose. We meet a woman named Lark who is so down on life that nothing seems to matter anymore until she meets Alpha knowing their is something their between them she feels the pull of something wonderful happening but doesn't no what. alpha see something in her that makes him want her for all eternity even going against the rules for this to happen. The rollercoaster of emotion and angst in this book will take you on the ride of your life and will pull you along from page one right up until you see the words The End.

I loved Alpha & Omega! It was so unique and intriguing which isn’t surprising considering K. Webster kills it every time! Alpha and Omega are working to become Seraph Guardians, all they have to do is complete one final assignment. Easy, right? Nope! Alpha’s task is nothing like he thought it would be. He is told that Lark Miller is a sinning, drug abusing, terrible person so when he meets Lark and realizes pretty much from the get go that she is not at all what they said, he begins to question everything he’s been working towards.
I really enjoyed this story. It was refreshing and heartbreaking at the same time. Refreshing because it was a story I haven’t read before which is always a plus. But heartbreaking because I felt for her so bad! Her story will get you like real hard! I thought the ending was so sweet! And I can’t wait to read more about Omega!

I loved every word of this book, what a great story! K. Webster writes with such feeling and emotion, you will not want to put this one down until your done.

I loved the depth the author gave to each character. Alpha and Omega where bigger than life, Lark Miller was perfect as a tatooed bad ass.

If you love Angels and Demons and a great heartfelt story this book is for you! Enjoy, I did!

What a gem. I don't review often, but I loved this book. If your curious, then I urge you to read it. I'm not about to go on a looong speil, but I will say.. It's one that hits all the high notes, and is well written. A beautifully encompassing story that made me laugh, cry and want to kick butt.

I was gifted this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

"I've given you my tiny heart. And though it may be little, it will need the most protection of all."
Alpha & Omega reached inside of me and touched my very soul. Enduring love is what everyone wants. Love that will span life, death, and eternity. This is the story of Alpha and Lark.

Alpha is a Minder on his way to the top. He was once a human, but is now tasked with the work of protecting them. His partner is Omega and they are making a name for themselves. "Dreamy" and "Hottie", those names are mentioned and we know that we are talking major eye candy! They are part of the elite in their work and on the playing field. But while Omega draws all of the ladies and thrives on it, Alpha has a goal in mind and will do whatever necessary to achieve it. Both currently work for the HEA, and much prefer that over the alternative of HEL.

"Failure is not an option because I'd die before ever working for the other side, which is exactly what would happen."

We enter the story at a critical point for our Dream Team. It's time for them to go on their final assignment before acquiring their wings. We listen as they are told by Pallas, an SG officer, the parameters of their final assignment. They are also enlightened as to changes they must go through in their final task, which comes as a shock to them, but gives us the initial feeling that a downfall is a possibility. They are determined to conquer this last test, regardless of the people or circumstances involved. Alpha is to protect and guard Lark until the end of a defined time, and Omega is to do the same for Pedro. The wrench in the works is Lovenia, the Leviathin. She works for the HEL and is also Omega's long standing frenemy with benefits. She is sharp, sassy, and devilish. We can just imagine what her goal is...to ruin any chance of good coming from this situation. Yep, she's the devil in disguise.

"Save your arrows, Cupid. I don't fall in love. You'd have to have a heart left for that."

Leaving that heavenly place, we get out first glimpse of our female heroine, Lark. She is a tattooist. Everything she does is to support her habit. She has no family that she acknowledges, and lives in a state of depression. Her first meeting with the Dream Team is as her saviors, rescuing her from her crazy neighbor, Pedro. And what an introduction it is! Alpha immediately gets under her skin, and he is drawn to her as well. It is at that moment, that we begin to hear his internal confessions for the misgivings of this assignment...Lark Miller...everything her. He describes for us her beauty, her sadness, and we know he is headed to HEL in a hand-basket with a Lark bow on top. She ignites something in him and sets him aflame. She will be the death of him!

"Sometimes an angel is found in the dark."

Because of the information that Alpha was previously given regarding Lark, we find him totally unprepared for his outing with her the next morning. He follows her into what he assumes will feed her "habit", but is shocked by what he witnesses when he arrives. Lark becomes our guide through this part of her life. It is her "favorite high" for which she has sacrificed everything. As the day progresses, we go various places, learning more about our characters along the way. Lark gives us enough information about her life so that we can be empathetic toward her, but stops before allowing us to feel sorrowful for her. Alpha is once again reminded that this is just an assignment, to keep his eyes on the prize.

"I want wings. That's all I've ever wanted."

What proceeds was one of my favorite scenes in the book, as it was brilliant foreshadowing and symbolism offered by Author K. Webster. The setting was the tattoo parlor in which Lark worked. Her client is Alpha. Things seem to be going well for them, and I am content with the direction that the story is taking. But this day is unlike any other they have spent together thus far. For me, it was one of Alpha's most vulnerable moments, the admission of his hopes and dreams, and the realization that these dreams may be met, but in a different manner than he originally anticipated. Soon after this I am broken. I feel a deep sadness and longing for Lark. Her life could have, should have been so different. I feels as though I am an uninvited guest in the room watching as Lark lifts the covering off her past exposing her most painful and deepest sorrows. I am caught up in a whirlwind of emotion as this shift takes place, marking an end and a beginning. It's like Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit all over again. And I'm waiting for that slippery snake. But maybe the snake is only part of the picture, as words find their way to the forefront and are swallowed up by despair.

"This man in front of me ruins everything. He messes up my carefully constructed world that protects the most vulnerable piece of me - my heart."

We continue to watch as Lark is slowly cocooned in all things Alpha. Reading her inner turmoil and continual longing for answers from the past, present, and future causes us to feel somewhat unsteady.
We find that these questions don't always come with easy answers. It is apparent that neither of our main characters is prepared for the mind-numbing mysteries that surface, or for the interactions they will have in order to try and find a path out of this maze. We are fractured and rent into pieces, then carefully and wonderfully put back together again.

Alpha & Omega was one of the most exquisite paranormal books I have read. It was beauty and grace. My heart had no choice but to be pulled into this story. It started with "Hottie and Dreamy", advanced with Lark and Alpha's first meeting, and was fully lost at "God is Beautiful" and the fact that "sometimes an angel is found in the dark." Throughout the entire book the undercurrent in my emotional state was rocked and made me misty-eyed. It was the work that Lark did, the compelling nature of Alpha, her past hurts and pains, and his sacrifices. The side story of Omega and Lovenia constantly kept me on my toes. I never knew what crazy thing they would do or say next. And the ending...that ending left me absolutely breathless.

A quote from Alpha & Omega that I loved when reading the book and felt for it while writing this review...

"Words are extensions of our souls. Some people have the ability to let them out. I am one of those people, and you are worth the words."

I don't normally read paranormal but when I read this story I'm hooked. This book was irresistible and sends you in a world that you never want to escape. Webster is one of my favorites and with this one she didn't disappoint me at all. Alpha and Lark's story is one of a kind and I'm really happy with this one. Is amazing, yet intriguing and very mind challenging. Once again the author did a spectacular job with this one. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Alpha has to protect a girl named Lark Miller in order to finally get his wings. It should be an easy task but ends up being more difficult than first thought. One lost soul will change this Angel in training forever. Who is Lark really and why was Alpha assigned to her? Can he stay on track to finish his job? This was an easy read centering around a two connected souls veiled in pnr since they are on earth in human form. Some topics discussed might also be more emotional for others. Told in dual POV

MY REVIEW --- 4.5 STARS * * * * .
First of all can I say how much I love that cover. I read this on my kindle app on my phone so I hadn't noticed the cover as much. I have just been able to admire it now - and wow. It's beautiful and powerful. Cover's aren't usually something that I gush over. I most of the time I like them just as much as other people but this is my favourite one. I love it. Ok enough of gushing over a cover lol.

K Webster has this pull to her writing. I tend to stick with the same kind of books and somehow this woman has got me to read historical and paranormal too. And of course she did not disappoint. Paranormal scares the hell out of me, But I devoured this book. Ok so a little about the book first. Alpha and Omega are sent down on their last assignment so they can finally receive the wings they have been working towards at HEA corp. This will be their hardest and will be assigned to keep someone alive until they're collected by HEL enterprises, and will have obstacles and distractions thrown their way. Will they pass their assignment and get their wings?

Lark Miller is probably the most intriguing character. Ever. seriously. She pulled me in from the get go. I NEEDED to know this woman's story. Why is she how she is? What possibly could have went wrong in her life that she is this angry? what went wrong that got her to where she is today? She had this kind of darkness and sadness to her and yet she had such an alluring personality and presence. And her name Lark Miller? come on! - I love that name!. Yep. I love her. She has this grievance that is weighing her down and she continues to push everyone away.

Alpha is an Alpha *SNORTS* I couldn't wait to say that. He was focused on just completing his task and getting the wings he deserved but he was drawn to Lark too. She was his assignment but the feelings he was getting were not required and were banned to be specific. While he had alpha male qualities there was a sweetness and even a vulnerability to his character that had him pulling at my heartstrings and had me falling for him hard.

Ok so I'm not going to lie this book was a bit of a mind fuck. Keep in mind I don't read Paranormal romances. Still it was a mind fuck and a great one at that. It took me a few minutes to get my head around some of the paranormal-ly stuff but I got there and I was so engrossed in this story from the start. I loved Alpha and Omega's friendship. The thing I loved about this story - every story has 'the villain' and with this one yes there's villains and you can point them out almost immediately but everything is not as it seems and your trying to put all the pieces together I loved it I can't wait for Omega's story! Oh and K Webster just incase you ever see this. Clarence definitely needs his story! haha! I love Clarence he has such a small part in the book but he's just one of them characters that you want to know more about!

This story caught my attention early on and kept it through until the epilogue and I read it all in one day. Having read many works by this author it never fails to amaze me how she is able to come up with ideas this "outside the box" and make them so captivating. Alpha and Omega are angels in training and if they pass this final assignment they will either become angels and work for HEA corporation or fail and become reapers that work for HEL corporation. These final assignments or FA's are meant to test them to their breaking points, they are being sent out as humans stripped of their powers for three months to protect someone until their death. In that three months there will be trials and tribulations involving their charge and themselves needing not only physical protection but also mental stability too. While the title of the book states it is about both men, most of the focus of this book is on Alpha or Al and his relationship with Lark Miller.
Alpha is instantly attracted to the beautiful but emaciated girl he is supposed to be protecting. The file Alpha has on Lark states she is bad news - death obsessed, a drug addict and abuses children but there is absolutely no way that information could be correct. Alpha knows that he should not be even thinking half the things that are running through his mind but he feels an instant soul deep connection with this broken girl and can't seem to help himself.
Lark is a tattoo artist and lives in a crappy apartment in a crappy part of town. There really is nothing in Lark's life that she looks forward to except her one and only addiction and she uses all her money (after she pays the rent ) to cover the costs of it. Lark is broken and all she wants is to leave this life and be reunited with those she lost. Lark barely sleeps and eats nothing but ramen noodles and oreo cookies. Depression and darkness are all Lark has until this incredibly large man crashes into her life and saves her from the drug addict neighbor down the hall. Al slowly becomes a huge presence in her life and makes her feel emotions she thought were dead and buried resurface again. This was a sweet love story with mystery / suspense and it is becoming a series so I know some of my lingering questions will be answered...

Let me just say I have never read a paranormal romance before so I was a little skeptical going in. I figured since I absolutely love all the other books by K Webster that I have read I would give it a shot. I am so glad that I did, I loved every freaking minute of this book!!!

Lark is a really sweet woman who is just so misunderstood. She craves death and it is so very sad. She has always felt this way growing up and then it all changes for her one day and she gives love a chance. “One smile. One goddamned beautiful smile, infected my heart and soul with such a force that I nearly exploded. All hopes of the afterlife and the eagerness to leave this one vanished with that one handsome smile.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t work out and she just becomes a shell of herself going through life until she can get to the after life she so desperately craves.

Alpha is a minder on his way to becoming a Seraph Guardian all he has to do is get through his final assignment and he is golden. His final assignment just happens to be Lark. He has one mission when he meets her, keep her alive for three months, that’s it, get his wings and move on with his dream of becoming a SG. If only life were that easy. From the minute he meets Lark he knows this assignment is not all that it seems and it will test him in ways he never imagined.

There are so many moving parts in this story and every time you think you have it figured out, you don’t! Add to that the paranormal aspect, which just makes for so many more possibilities and it becomes that much more of an amazing read…

This story had me from the prologue and just didn’t let me go until the very last sentence. It is a story of undying love, second chances, sacrifices and finding yourself. I loved everything about it!

This story also ends with a perfect set up for Omega’s book, which I am dying to read now too. Write faster, please, Ms. Webster! I need to know how Omega gets his happiness.

Alpha and Omega is the first book I’ve read by K. Webster herself. And I half to say I really liked it.
I don’t get to read a lot of paranormal books these days, but Alpha and Omega was a good book to get me started back into PNR.
Alpha and Omega are on their last assignments trying to become Seraph Guardians. They have been Minders for 6 years at HEA Corp. Alpha and Omega are the best at their job.
At HEA Corps they get the bad people. Alpha’s final assignment is Lark Miller. She’s a drug addict who is supposedly dark and evil, well according to her file provided by HEA anyways. And Omega’s assignment is Lark’s weird neighbor, Pedro. They must keep their assignments alive for 3 months until their time is up. The thing is though Alpha starts to fall for his assignment, which is a big no no. He actually gets to know Lark and learns that she is not how they said she was. They have several rules and one of them is Thou shalt not fornicate with the final assignment. Does Alpha go against the rules for the biggest temptation of his life or does he do his job and become a Seraph Guardians.
I really thought I wasn’t going to enjoy this book as much as I did. I loved the story line; I loved the characters although I didn’t like Lovenia much. I hope that changes in her book. I loved the attraction and romance between Alpha and Lark. From the heartbreak at times to the refreshing twist this book took it was a great start for the series. I can’t wait to see what happens in Omega’s book.
Overall thoguhts…
Well, it was a fantastic start to the series. I really liked Lark and Alpha’s love story. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
