Evey writes heartwarming romances with steamy moments, often in small-town settings with an element of sports. An American from the Midwest, she now lives in a tiny country in Europe where it rains a lot. That is probably why she occupies her days typing away on her laptop with music on repeat and slow-roast coffee nearby. Oh, and she vows to never break up with cake.
Clashing Hearts is a fiery enemies-to-lovers romance that launches the Haven Crossroads series in style. This captivating romance is a spin-off from the Everhope Road series, giving readers a chance to revisit the world Ms Lyon has created while still delivering a story and a new series that can absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone.
With Clashing Hearts, Evey Lyon could not have asked for a better start to her new Haven Crossroads series.
And what a start it is.
This enemies-to-lovers romance ticks every box readers love—an engaging storyline, electric chemistry, and a heroine who completely steals the spotlight. Savannah is strong, determined, and refuses to be intimidated, even when she finds herself face-to-face with one of the most infuriating men imaginable. Honestly, she’s the kind of character that makes you think, I want to be Savannah when I grow up.
Then there’s Julian. The billionaire boss who burns through assistants at lightning speed, expects perfection, and has a reputation that would make anyone nervous about working for him. At times you’ll probably want to throw something at him—but that’s part of the fun. Because Julian is about to meet the one woman who won’t simply fall in line.
When Savannah is promoted to work directly for Julian, clashes are inevitable. Their sharp personalities collide instantly, leading to some brilliant banter and tension-filled moments. But beneath the arguments there’s been a simmering heat building between them for a long time. Now that they’re working closer together, that slow burn attraction is about to reach boiling point.
Packed with witty exchanges, sizzling chemistry, and a heroine who refuses to back down, Clashing Hearts is a brilliant opening to the Haven Crossroads series—and if this is the beginning, readers are definitely in for something special.

Savannah vs. Julian was EVERYTHING. The tension? Sharp. The banter? Top tier. And the way he falls first while trying to stay in control?? I ate that up.
She’s small-town grit, he’s big-city ego—and watching her shake his entire world was so satisfying.
Morally gray billionaire + a woman who won’t be intimidated = absolute chaos (the best kind).
And that ending?! I’m still thinking about it 👀 Immediately need the next book.
Looking for a book filled with angst, witty banter that is really a form of foreplay and two people who, if they could, would send one another off a cliff? Well, Ms. Lyon's Clashing Hearts is the perfect book for you. Ms. Lyon always delivers a storyline that is entertaining and characters who get under your skin in more ways than one. In this enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance, grumpy/sunshine romance, we witness the push/pull relationship between Julian, the billionaire boss who can't keep an assistant if his life depended on it and Savannah, the PA who has been promoted and assigned to Julian, aka Mr. Grumpy. He has this demeanor that has everyone afraid of him, except his new PA. Savannah is a strong and determined woman who refuses to be intimidated by her new boss. Is this love-to-hate relationship they share is one of intrigue and maybe just maybe there is a reason he is grumpy and she loves pushing his buttons. When they can't keep their hands off one another, things really heat up. From the start to the end, these two will have you laughing, yelling and falling in love with their story. What a terrific start to the Haven Crossroads series.
Thank you to Hambright PR for the opportunity to review this book.
This is my first book by Evey Lyon and it was such a fun quick read. This is the first book in the series Haven Crossroads and it follows an assistant who tries to ignore her growing feelings for her boss while he is doing the exact same thing. The two of them enter into a battle of wills that leads to them giving in and discovering there is something more there than just lust.
I really enjoyed the banter between our FMC, Savannah, and our MMC, Julian. The two of them may have a power dynamic in play but that doesn’t stop Savannah from putting him in his place, and Julian loves every word that comes out of her smart mouth.
Overall this book was a nice workplace romance with an enemies to lovers style story, an age gap, a morally gray MMC, and he falls first. In particular I really enjoyed the way the characters communicated in a healthy manner and how Julian realized how much more dangerous the situation was for her.
There was some definite spice in here with a little kink play and some minor bondage. If you’re looking for a steamy, but still full of heart romance, pick up this book!
So normally I love a grumpy sunshine trope, but honestly for me Julian was too grumpy and rude for absolutely no reason. I also feel like his behavior was disrespectful at times. He told her that she was a horrible assistant because she was too attractive, forced her to go to his house for a signature that he didn't actually need after hours, and complained that she "didn't understand the assignment" with a dress she chose because it was too revealing, but then later on was "showing her off". This is also marketed as enemies to lovers, and it is absolutely not enemies to lovers... on a positive I did like that he redeemed himself and fell in love. She became the center of his world and he could be really sweet at times, but overall I couldn't get past a lot of his behavior. I read another by this author that I actually loved, the writing itself was great. I would definitely try her books again!
Clashing Hearts had my heart pitter pattering through out the whole story. Julian and Savannah are a hoot! With Julian as the unattainable grump of a millionaire who is as demanding as he is sexy. And Savannah being the unstoppable, head strong new assistant hell bent on surviving her new position working for the boss who can't keep an assistant to save his life.
There are lots of banter and fun quips between the two that will have you giggling with delight. Their chemistry builds every time they are together and the romance is hot. Julian's romance game is on point and I swooned over every bit of it.
Evey Lyon is one of those authors that I will always pick up to read when I want something easy to read with that small town feel and heartwarming emotion. I'm excited to venture on with the on coming stories at Haven Crossroads. It's a must read for me.
Clashing Hearts is billionaire Julian and Savannah’s enemies to lovers, age gap romance and it’s the first book in the new Haven Crossroads Series. I loved everything about this book from the strong characters to the quirky small town vibes. Julian goes through assistants quicker than most, he expects perfection and most don’t last under pressure but when Savannah is promoted to his next assistant she has a different perspective. She is strong, sassy and she is not intimidated…… So what happens when Julian realises he loves a woman who can give as good as she gets. I fell hard and fast for this billionaire and I adored Savannah but what took this book to the next level was the sarcastic banter and the sizzling chemistry. This is a well written, entertaining and engaging story that’s a great start to Haven Crossroads.
It’s no secret that I LOVE a good enemies to lovers romance. Clashing Hearts absolutely delivered. As the first book in the Haven’s Crossroads series, it brings strong chemistry, great banter, and a storyline that kept me hooked from start to finish. Savannah is confident, bold, and unlike her predecessors she refuses to be intimidated by her new boss. Julian is grumpy, egotistical, demanding, and, at times, completely insufferable. Their dynamic together is everything you want in this trope. Full of witty exchanges and tension that builds perfectly with every interaction, making the payoff all the more satisfying. Overall, I really enjoyed this read. I don’t typically reach for the billionaire trope, but I’m so glad I made an exception here. Highly recommend to my billionaire romance besties.
This book was my first read by Every Lyon and it was fantastic and I can’t wait to read more.
The banter between Julian and Savannah was so good. Reading the push and pull between them kept me wanting more. I was happy that Savannah never got caught up with who Julian was but stuck to who she was and what she wanted. Watching Julian work through what he was taught that family was and what love should look like was a special journey to be on. They definitely are a power couple together and I can’t wait to see what more will come of them.
I can’t wait to the next one that was set up between Elodie and Hayes. I had a suspicion that this could be when we didn’t know the dad of Elodie’s daughter. I am so Excited!!!
It was an easy read. Great steamy scenes. With a happily ever after!
Thank you to the author Evey Lyon and Hambright PR for the advance copy of the ebook.
This is a quick read with a grumpy billionaire MMC who owns his own company and a younger sunshine FMC who is his assistant. We have workplace relationship, forbidden romance, age gap, billionaire romance, and grumpy x sunshine.
Normally I love a grumpy sunshine trope but honestly I couldn’t connect to the MMC. I felt like he was more rude and disrespectful than grumpy. The way he talks about women and “attractive” assistants kept me from warming up to him.
I did enjoy our FMC and the small town vibes! I liked the author’s writing style and would definitely read another book by her.
Savannah is sent to work as an assistant for Julian Haven, the CEO who cannot keep an assistant. Julian takes one look at her and tries to run her off but Savannah gives just as good as he does and soon their shenanigans become foreplay. They end up having a secret relationship that evolves into a forever love but a business decision made unknowingly causes issues. Now Julia has to show Savannah the lengths he’s willing to go through for her. I loved this book. I literally laughed out loud and cheered for this couple.
**I received an advanced copy of this book for free and I am voluntarily leaving this review.**
Savannah and Julian make a wonderful couple. There's something about reading the older billionaire MMC fall for the sassy and snarky FMC. This office romance was cute and offered a good bit of witty humor. Each character felt like they had a place and were individuals with complex relationships. The plot was fun and had me thinking of working from the office again. Who doesn't enjoy a beautiful office romance?
And OMG - The epilogue did me in. Hook. Line. Sinker. Elodie and Hayes have a child together?!? This is going to be a good one, I know it! It's a guarantee that I'll be continuing this series. I suggest you all give it a shot!
This is a good read. I just wasn't feeling it. I felt like I didn't really learned anything about them. Especially as a couple. Any time we saw them alone outside of work together it was straight to smex pretty much. For the most part I found Julian rude and a little immature. Near the end of the book Savannah got on my nerves. She runs because something happens but in my opinion she overreacted. He never gave her a reason to doubt him and he told her that he didn't know but she didn't even stick around and try to fix it. I did like how he fought for her even when she was giving him every reason not to.
Imagine the classic grumpy billionaire boss meets total ray of sunshine and calm assistant. It’s peak enemies-to-lovers. Savannah gets stuck working for Julian, who’s basically a nightmare in a tailored suit; and has a track record of scaring off every assistant he’s ever had. Instead of quitting, she decides to kill him with kindness and absolutely crushes it, despite him trying his hardest to make her miserable. If you’re into books that balance humor, banter, he falls first, and with heat, this is your read. You’ll honestly want to shake Julian one minute and marry him the next.
I love a good office romance and this one definitely checked all my boxes. Julian is the unbearable grumpy CEO that no one can seem to put up with. Savannah is the personal assistant to the COO but when the COO decides it is time to retire he assigns Savannah to be Julian’s new assistant knowing that if anyone can handle him it’s her. The bickering/banter between them was so good, both so stubborn with such good underlying chemistry! If you are looking for an office romance with good plot and spice definitely be sure to check this one out!
“Egos collide” My oh my, I loved everything this author comes up with! Her characters are always realistic and relatable and I just want to crawl into the story and be a part of their world. Savannah and Julian sparked and sizzled, and their banter just made my day. The tension is high and the office just got a dose of undeniable chemistry. These two are perfect for each other. This is full of heart and emotion, family and friendships. There’s humour, drama, romance, spice and character growth. I can’t wait for this new series to continue.
This was lovely. It's your typical boss/assistant billionaire forbidden romance. What's also good is the enemies to lovers part because Savannah and Julian fight with such tension that the elastic just breaks with their first kiss, which is my absolute favorite part of the trope. The writing is different in that even though they are keeping it secret for now, it's Julian who doesn't want to keep it that way any longer and Savannah is hesitant. But when a vote is made on Julian's behalf by his sister which inadvertently affects Savannah's family, can Julian fix the mistake to keep her?
Clashing Hearts is book 1 in a new series by Evey Lyon. I so enjoy a book with a strong female main character! This billionaire boss, age gap, workplace romance is a quick, fun read. A true enemies to lovers mixed with grumpy x sunshine main characters, this novel is a page turner. The banter between Julian and Savannah is incredible. I also love when a corporate, no-nonsense boss falls first and becomes a bit off balance chasing the romance.
Thank you Evey Lyon for the gifted advanced copy of this book.
Julian is as grumpy as he is handsome or rich, so when Savannah starts working as his assistant he can't wait for her to quit. She is efficient, gorgeous and a ray of sunshine so he can't keep his eyes from her, and their banter is their foreplay.
I loved how Savannah makes Julian more human and to love her small hometown where we can see some past MCs. And I can't wait to read about Elodie's story.
I was very underwhelmed by this book, but I can definitely see it being a book many will enjoy!
I just felt like there was a lot of immaturity for how old Savannah was. She was beyond frustrating for me. Julian gave her zero reason to not trust him, and the second something comes up, she runs. I understand conflict like this can make the story more engaging, but I felt like it didn't match the story.
Thank you, Evey and HPR, for sending me a copy of this book!
Clashing Heart is an enemies to lovers, workplace romance. Clashing hearts is the first in the new haven crossroads series. that follows Savannah and Julian. I loved their relationship. the banter the spice, and everything else in between! Some tropes inclide Billionaire Romance, age gap, small town, with a strong FMC. I was so invested in their relationship, i kinda never wanted it to end! I highly reccomemend this one!
First thank you to the author and Hambright PR for the advanced copy of Clashing Hearts.
This was a real struggle for me to get through. I almost stopped multiple times. It wasn’t so much the storyline cause the workplace romance vibes and plot were there. It was just the writing I think. It did not flow, and seemed choppy. And some parts just did not make sense to me. I wasn’t getting the enemies to lovers at all. Sure they would argue a bit but it just lacked the tension and angst.
This book hit all my favorite things- Workplace romance Morally gray MMC Billionaire MMC Age Gap And. FMC that doesn't take no shit. The spice was like a 2 for me and not too overdone. Small recap.. Savannah FMC is hired as an assistant for a hard to please jerk Jullian. Obviously our man falls for our girl. I love the banter, I kinda loved the 3rd act break-up, and I am excited to read the next one. Thank you to hambright pr for this copy to read and review :) you da best!
OH.MY.GOD!!!!!!!The banter between the lead characters is to die for!!! There was so much sexual tension in the book. If you are looking for an office romance, it is a go to book. However at the end quite a few chapters were boring for me that took place in the small town.
Overall it was a cutesy, enemies to lovers, billionaire romance book.
I AM SUCH A SUCKER FOR ENEMIES TO LOVERS! THE BANTER IS DELICIOUS, THE SPARKS ARE UNDENIABLE, THE SLOW BURN IS REAL. THE MMC IS GIVING A MORE MILD CHRISTIAN GREY VIBE. THIS ONE IS A TREAT!!
THANK YOU HAMBRIGHT, EVEY LYON AND LOST COMPASS PRESS FOR SHARING THIS WITH ME!
If you are looking for a nice palate cleanser after a intense book this would be it. The office romance that will have you shaking your head or holding your breath.😂 They shouldn’t be together but they can’t seem to be apart. 🙌🙌❤️
I love how Evey does small town romance. Savannah may have left the small town for her career but she is a small town girl at heart. Julian only knows how to succeed but he is pushed out of his comfort zone with her. I was hoping for the ending, about Hayes, and now cannot wait for book two.
