A tragic accident had erased pieces of billionaire Finn Sorensen's memory. Including all recollection of his wife. But what wife?
The one he'd been told had married him for his money? The one who now owned a controlling share of his family's jewelry empire?
Ally McKnight's image was burned into Finn's memory from photographs--pictures that captured the passion between them. It was time she received a surprise visit from her long-lost husband. The one who wouldn't let her forget just what she owed him.

The most unusual thing about this story was that the hero was Danish and the heroine Australian - just like Prince Frederik and Princess Mary. (Although I think she's from Tasmania.) Anyway, that's about the only interesting thing.
Hero has amnesia from an accident that killed his father. He travels to Australia (with divorce papers in hand) to see if heroine can help him with his memory. It has to do with keeping his stepmother from taking over the family business.
Heroine agrees and then we discover all about this made-for-each-other couple.
They met and married in six months. Met in April. Married in October. Hero didn't tell her he was rich or a workaholic. She had a miscarriage two weeks after arriving in Denmark. Hero ignored her and she was in over her head. They had one last fight about a former girlfriend. Heroine left before Christmas and found out she was pregnant. Didn't tell the hero. Hero was in the accident. Started dating. Heroine started dating the company sleeze and had to fight him off on New Years. She ends up quiting her job. Hero travels in down under in late January.
All of this is told not shown, which means their trials and tribulations don't really ressonate with the reader.
After 2 months of being separated, Ally is awakened in the middle of the night by her husband demanding she come pick him up from the airport.
Finn Sorensen doesn't remember much from the last two years thanks to a recent car accident that ultimately took his father's life. Now, his father's company, Sorensen's Silver's was in danger of being put in his selfish stepmother's hands. The only hope is to find his father's codicil that he made just before passing. And the woman who might can help is his wife he can't remember.
Hoping to answer a few other questions, Finn is determined to find out what happened to his marriage. From looking at photos, they looked madly in love. So what happened?
Hearing about Finn's memory loss makes a million emotions go through Ally. After tearing out her heart she never wanted to see Finn again. But when he asks for her help, she can't find it in herself to refuse. How can she not help the father of her unborn baby. Yep, she's 12 weeks along with a baby Finn didn't want.
Despite their ugly marriage full of fighting, Ally finds herself still madly attracted to Finn and him to her. This Finn is so different from the other Finn.
The more Ally tells Finn about his old self and their past relationship the more he begins not liking the guy he apparently was. How could he be more focused on work than on this beautiful woman in front of him? How could he just let her run without chasing her. He's determined to remedy that though.
As their attraction grows, Ally seems to pull more and more away. The wall she's built up around herself is intimidating and Finn isn't sure how to reach her. When Ally's writing in a magazine from her ex-job receives an award, Finn meets her ex-boss, Simon. Once wanting something more from Ally, Simon hounds her to accept her old job back. Refusing he 'accidentally' lets slip her pregnancy.
Finding out he's going to be a father turns Finn's world upside down again. One thing is absolutely clear to him though. There is no way he's giving her a divorce and leaving her in the mess she calls a life. Not having a steady income and living in a small apartment is not how he wants his child raised. But Ally, coming from parents who were never there for her, is the most independent person he's ever met and doesn't want his help.
Finally he does climb her wall and as they dive further in the past Finn learns of Ally's first miscarriage and him telling her he didn't want children. All too suddenly Finn understands why Ally left and kept silent about the baby. Now, he just has to get her back.
When his father's codicil is found, the company is saved and Ally expects Finn to leave to run the company, but surprising her and perhaps showing her in the only way she would truly know he'd changed, he tells her he's staying and running a new branch of the company in Sidney.
I read a rash of amnesia Desires there for a bit. In this one, the rich (of course) hero was in a car accident which killed his father and his memory. There was apparently a codicil to dad's will that took money away from the wicked stepmother, and gave some to the hero's almost-ex-wife. He can't remember anything, so goes to Australia to track the almost-ex down and see if she can help him remember. She doesn't want to help. He broke her heart, plus she's pregnant and he said he didn't want kids. And the story's all about how they fall in love again. Lots and lots of angst. Nice quick read
This became the book I finished in record time, after a long time. In less than a day.
Finn Sørensen was in a car crash which placed his father in the intensive care. And which ultimately led to the latter's demise. After his father's death, he came to know that he has a wife who lives in Australia. Finn lost some of his memories in that same crash, and his wife is apparently a part of those memories.
While his cousin Louisa moons over them as a couple, his stepmother leaves nothing to the imagination in calling out his so-called wife as nothing more than a gold digger.
With Marlene digging her claws into the estate and business of her late husband, Finn has no choice but to find out a way around it, with his forgotten wife's help, of course, to ensure his father's hard work doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
Forgotten Marriage takes us from Copenhagen to Sydney. Alexandra 'Ally' McKnight never imagined that she would hear from her Scandinavian husband again, the same one who didn't even want their baby. More than two months had passed since she left him.
Thus, imagine her surprise when she gets a call from him! And there is no limit to her astonishment when Finn reveals that he needs her help to restore his memory. A man who never needed anything, not even her. Ally is twenty-nine and she is twelve weeks pregnant.
This is the first time I read a Harlequin with a Danish hero. I would have loved to visit Denmark though, through the book, of course. But it was not to be.
This was a true 'opposites attract' story. Such an organised guy and a messy girl. It was too cute as well as adventurous, the way they were trying to get back Finn's memories. It was indeed wonderful to see a Harlequin hero, even if inwardly, guilt-tripping about the way he behaves, admitting that he was selfish and arrogant.
This was such an endearing read, especially with their wicked flirtations. It also had an epilogue and even after having 20 chapters, felt like the shortest but sweetest read ever!
I can't exactly remember which read was it, but I have previously read books which have only two characters throughout the story. And they have always ended up being disastrous. But this one did not have even a single dull moment!
I had read only one Paula Roe before, The Pregnancy Plot, which was okay-ish for me, but this changes everything! I can't wait to read more of the author's works. I loved this one so much that I want to own a physical copy. But it isn't available anywhere in India at the moment.
4 1/2 Stars! ~ Ms. Roe's debut with Desire is an emotional sensual love story of love lost and rediscovered. Our hero, Finn, seeks out his estranged wife when he suffers from amnesia and only she seems to hold the key to unlocking his memories. Ally's love for Finn had nearly destroyed her, so having him back in her life is a threat for more devastation.
This is a heart wrenching love story that gripped me from the first pages. I know I've found one for the keeper shelf, when I'm so engrossed I read a book in one sitting and then immediately seek out passages to savour again. This is such a book. Bravo, to Ms. Roe on her amazing debut and I look forward to reading her other books.
I thoroughly enjoyed this reunion romance between hot Danish hero Finn Sorensen (I haven't figured out how to do the funny o thingy) and Aussi girl Ally.
The two met in Australia and in true opposites attract style fell madly in love, backpacked around the world and married in Vegas with an Elvis impersonator. As you do.
Then they went home to Denmark and reality hit. At home Finn isn't at all the same guy as he was when they met and between family, lifestyle issues and incompatible visions of future family life, it all falls apart.
Months later, Ally is struggling to make a new life for herself when Finn turns up. A car accident has impacted on his memories and not only has he forgotten their marriage, he's forgotten the type of person he was.
This is a lovely story of two people with a past working together to solve Finn's dilemma and falling in love all over again. How they can overcome the past is a big part of how this story develops and I love seeing the character development of both Finn and Ally. A good ending and a great read.
I really really liked this book and I am glad I ignored the bad reviews! The book had heart and I liked the fact that the characters didn't do stupid things and act immature. I've read my share of these books and have never understood why the characters act in insane, immature ways and seem to always do some stupid s@$#! This book was different and really lovely. I totally recommend it.
I almost liked it however I just don't understand and it was never explained why he had a new girlfriend days after heroine leaving him. The crash apparently happend days after she left him and his girlfriend left him while he was in hospital, it was never addressed if he slept with her. The story itself was ok and if the part of New girlfriend wasn't included I would have liked it. P.
I thought this was a good story. He has amnesia and has forgotten his wife and they sort through a complicated history. He is frustrated and annoyed but not too stubborn and hurtful.
I liked this. The dude's discovery of the past and the truth was paced well. I liked the woman and eventually the man. I sincerely appreciated the way things eventually resolved, particularly how much he changed his behavior.
