Esri Rose attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, graduating magna cum laude with a BA in Radio-TV-Film.

Rose has written and produced ads for radio and television. She also worked at the National Potato Promotion Board, and has forgotten more about potatoes than most people will ever know. In a memorable stint as associate editor of Zymurgy magazine at the Homebrewers Association, she demonstrated her capering skills in a turkey mascot suit. It was hot inside, and smelled of beer.

Leaving the corporate world, Rose opened a small skin-care business, where she alternately slathered soothing goo on women’s faces and ripped hair out of other areas. One of her most valuable tools was a fund of anecdotes that took clients’ minds off the “minor discomfort” of waxing. When she told a client she was selling the business to concentrate on writing, the client replied, “I won’t keep it up when you go. I mostly come to hear you tell stories.”

Bound to Love Her and Stolen Magic are Rose’s romantic-suspense novels about Elves living in Boulder, Colorado. Esri Rose lives in Boulder with her husband and her cat, only one of whom has pointy ears.

Quick read! Witty dialogue at times which is always fun! The storyline was not as fluid as I would of liked, but it was good nonetheless! Nothing memorable about it, but would recommend it for the supernatural aspect & forbidden love a la Twilight style!!! Elves instead of vampires, but still enticing break from reality!!! 😂🤪😍

It was a fun novel! I read it awhile ago & forgot to input it here! Lol with that being said there was nothing great or memorable about this novel, but nothing bad either it was a fun easy romance novel with a supernatural twist! Would recommend it especially if need a “fluffy beach read” type of book!

Kindle read/ Paranormal mess

I had expectations for this book... I had hopes it would be as good as the many reviews stated. The blurb ensnared me almost immediately and I couldn't hold my excitement...But!
Things didn't go so well and I found myself unsatisfied, sighing like a sad puppy.

The first half of the book was ok and after that it just got dull and messy. Loosing my interests and boring me with it's predictable outcomes and character actions. I felt dissapointed in many aspects and I'm not just talking about the cover...

description

I was going to give it a 3 star... I did a re-read because I wasn't sure what bothered me exactly. Half way, the truth suddenly hit me so hard I decided to withdraw my previous rating. I just had to correct myself and say this was not a good read! Which I will explain in detail why I did so of course.

For starters, I had a hard time with the author's style. Her writing feels sloppy and too fast paced for my taste. Trying too hard to place intrigue and cheesy action scenes, that instead of being serious, made me crack a laugh more than once. It felt absurd, messy and unpolished.

Heroine and hero have definite chemistry, but they act like highschool kids. There thoughts and actions don't match their age at all. A huge "NO!" Especially if one of the characters is an elf over a 100 years old! He had Edward Cullen syndrome by the way... And the heroine is actually a positive hippy Bella Swan...

You heard me!!!

You can see where I'm going with this right?
Most of the events through the whole story are twilightish... It frustrated and angered me!

And it's a pity, because there was some good plot points and cool fay magic rules going on.

I appreciated the fact that she included a variety of colorful secondary characters who had more personality than the protagonists.
Hell... Even the bad guy was more interesting than the twilight pair!

I guess you've already figured out how the romance plays out between these two ...

*Sex scenes are not very explicit. Not bad, but cold and a little forced in truth.

Not recommended and certainly not amused. I bid you farewell and may your next reads be fab!

It has quite a few laughs in it.
And very romantic, plus is shows that not all Normis (normal people) are asses to the fay.

It is a 1 novel story and thanks the Gods since I've missed books like that, that end and start in 1 book.

The way the characters are beautifully narrated.
So in all it really was a great book.

The only thing I don't get from it is the cover, since the main guy had blond long hair. And not the color or length of the guy on the cover.

The synopsis was better than the story. I got all excited about it, but fell a little bit flat for me.

An elf and a bond

When a human rescues a battered elf, an invincible bond (and an equally strong sexual attraction) set them on a path strewn with danger, adventure, mayhem, and hope for the future.
Esri Rose has a talent for interweaving plot, character, and details as naturally as if you could dissolve into the page and live the life of the book. Her touch on a storyline sets it far above all the rest.
Not your typical delve into fae country. Worth the read. Get the book.

Every Boulder reference was thrilling and I could really see the story navigating around the town.

Everyone in Erin Chandler's world of present day Boulder, Colorado, knows that elves are found only in fairy tales and movies, right? Wrong! While walking her elderly neighbor's dog through the woods one night Erin discovers a dying man - a tall, buff, incredibly gorgeous, pointy-eared, dying man - who turns out to not be a man at all, but an elf!

The bond between Galan of Longtail Rock and the land that keeps him alive has been broken by the evil dark elf, Fellseth, and Galan is struggling for his last breath when Erin's touch inexplicably infuses him with energy and renews his life force. A life-giving bond between the two is created in that moment and neither of their lives will ever be the same. Erin finds herself in the midst of a community of elves struggling to hold on to their life-sustaining lands while battling the dark elf intent on killing them by stealing those lands and the humans who are unknowingly destroying the natural habitat that the elves have occupied for hundreds of years. Erin joins forces with Galen and the other good elves to defeat Fellseth but just when they think they have him outwitted, the dark elf sets his evil sights on Erin.

It's a testament to Rose's superb writing skill that I was able to suspend belief and immerse myself completely in this fast-paced, delightful and emotionally satisfying, magical tale. The relationship between Galan and Erin is romantic and frequently poignant while at the same time sprinkled with the humor you would expect when bringing together a practical, independent, 21st century woman with a sexy, sensual, supremely confident elf who has been around for more than 250 years. The crisp dialogue kept me turning pages late into the night and whet my appetite for more elf tales from this gifted debut author.

By the title and brooding torso on the cover, you'd assume this is a bondage romance. Actually, it's a light paranormal romance. Kensington, what were you thinking?

I've never read/seen The Lord of the Rings and whatnot, so this was my introduction to elves. The ones living in Boulder, Colorado, don't all have pointed ears, though Galan of Longtail Rock does. Basically, the elves have close ties to the land, and they each have their own territory. This opens the way for social commentary involving the environment and real estate, so at least this novel has something to say – which a lot of stories don't.

A New Age (read: hippie) shop employee, Erin Chandler finds Galan near death, attacked by the big baddie, Fellseth, who's nicked his land. Somehow giving him her 'energy', Erin saves Galan, but the action has somehow bonded them.

Why do sparky women chase so-so men? Erin has an entertaining voice, though I dislike her stance on some issues. ("I personally believe depression is fifty percent nutrition and fifty percent mental habits." Bitch – what about crap genetics?) Galan may be good at making jewellery, but other than that he doesn't seem to have much going for him. Thus whatever Erin feels for him seems mostly superficial. His sense of humour only involves sex jokes, thus his comedy needs more variety. Is it any wonder that my favourite character is Kitty Girl? Erin's cat, abandoned whilst her owner is captured, somewhat appeals to me, but maybe that's because I'm a cat owner.

It's easy reading, but not really my kind of thing. Fans of Tate Hallaway's novels should enjoy this. However, the author is a nifty person, so I'll still be reading her blog.

Well, um, I finished "Bound to Love Her" by Esri Rose. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't really good either. Thus the 3 rating. I couldn't quite buy into her world and the plot didn't flow too smoothly for me. Some of the actions seemed out of character and the motivations were all over the place. I think this writer has definite promise and a vivid imagination, but this book just didn't quite hit for me.

Erin's life is going well. She's about to become the owner of the New Age store where she works with her best friend. One night, she takes her neighbor's dog for a walk and helps an injured man. But he won't go away. He claims he's an elf and will die if he separates from her. What a winner!

Galan doesn't know how he became bonded with Erin, he just knows he is. During their investigations in how to safely break the bond, they run into other elves. Some are hostile (his parents), some are aloof, and one dark elf becomes fixated on Erin and her ability to provide energy. These two will have to work together and motivate other elves to help to overcome the powerful dark elf.

I'll be watching this author to see what's next.

I didn't like it at first. Actually I only kept reading because it was an InterLibrary Loan item from my library. I continued skimming along because of little moments of unusual maturity/realism/strength or something along those lines. For example, the heroine doesn't get angry or defensive after the hero starts giving her orders about how to behave and feel she replies, "You can decide not to discuss the possibility of being together, but you don't get to decide how I feel." There were lots of moments when most authors, and most stories, would go for melodrama, taking the story over the top of reality. Rose avoids that.

I'd say the characters, mostly our heroine, are what rescues this book. It's first person so we don't get as much insight as usual into the hero's pov. (And that first person pov allows for a much more suspenseful villain.) But I really liked Erin. She was smart, sensible and she never, *never* gave up. When she was kidnapped she fought, and fought intelligently.

Fun! I blew through it in no time. Enjoyed the character interactions as well as the pacing. Would have liked to know more details about Elven life, but understand the limitations of the category.

I look forward to reading the author's next book.

well, I would say that this is a great book but the story sounds very much like the one in Twilight. I guess if you were to get this book at dollarama for $2 which is cheaper than the original price $3.99, you wouldnt regret it haha
