Gritty, realistic, well woven storytelling that captures the danger & despair of gangland life in south central. Add in the absence of police support during the week of chaos & rioting to create the scene of a city under siege. Great writing!

One of the best books I've read lately. Eighteen points of view woven together seamlessly in a compelling story about Lynwood in the days right after the Rodney King riots. Wonderfully written.
