Finding Her Bear is set in Bear Creek, and can be read as a standalone story
Kayleigh has never know what it's like to stay in one place for long. She's never experienced being part of a real family, and has no intention of ever settling down and having kids. In fact, until she arrived in Bear Creek, she had never wanted to stick around for more than a couple of months.
It was just her luck that her job was coming to an end and she would have to move on whether she wanted to or not. Unless someone gave her a reason to stay...
Daryl is too shy to ask his mate for a date. When he finds out she is going to have to leave Bear Creek, he knows he's going to have to come out of his shell if he wants to claim her as his own.
But when your mate has sworn to never settle down and have kids. What's a bear to do?
This bear has to persuade Kayleigh that she is his eternal mate. He will always be there for her, and he most definitely wants to have lots of bear cubs running around.
The only problem ... he ends up looking like a weird stalker. Can he change her mind and convince her to marry him and start a family?
Harmony Raines loves to write romance filled with magic and love. Her men are usually not so alpha, but they know how to treat their fated mates, or alien lovers well.

Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
Nice follow up in the series. Kayleigh is damaged by her past but she's strong enough to trust herself and finally turn to Daryl. Daryl was missing his confidence and his ability to speak whenever Kayleigh was around. I liked the sweet beginning of romance. Adult read
Finding Her Bear is a quick, sexy story that is entertaining and introduces us to more of the bear shifters of Bear Creek. Kayleigh has been working in the local diner over the summer rush season, now her job is about to be gone and she has to find another one fast or leave town. Since she’s been a woman who rarely puts down roots, she’s a bit surprised at how much she really wants to stay in Bear Creek, a place that could easily feel like home. But with no way to support herself, it looks like it’s time to hit the road one again.
Daryl has been coming into the diner for breakfast everyday with his brother Sam Oh, it’s not that they couldn’t easily eat at home, but Kayleigh is Daryl’s mate and this is his daily dose of being around her. Daryl is extremely shy and rarely speaks to her beyond his breakfast order. Yet his hesitation to even ask her out is about to cost him his mate if he doesn’t do something right now. He’ll get his chance under slightly unusual circumstances then it’s up to him to convince Kayleigh to take a chance on staying… with him.
Take one woman who has been shuffled through the foster care system since childhood and doesn’t trust that anything lasts, not even love and one very shy bear shifter who is desperate to keep his mate near – and you have the chance for happiness or a major mess up.
I enjoyed Kayleigh and Daryl’s romance. It’s short, sexy with a touch of sweet and a bit of danger. If you plan on starting Harmony Raines’ new series Return to Bear Creek then this first series of short stories is a fun, quick way to get caught up on the history of some of the secondary characters you’ll meet in that new series. I would definitely recommend this series to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader.
I enjoyed this story but it wasn’t my favourite as not a lot happened. I liked the connection between Daryl and Kayleigh once Daryl finally told Kayleigh what he was and what she means to him, well after she found out after she ran from the extreme weirdness of Daryl’s parents looking way too young to even have teenage sons not sons as old as Daryl and Sam’s ages so it’s completely understandable why she ran away from them as they also acted really intense and she didn’t know the reasoning for it, if only Daryl had explained things earlier it would’ve made complete sense, that they weren’t crazy, they were just really happy that after all this time that Daryl had found his mate. I’m glad that Daryl found her when he did as he could save her from the Wolves that were about to attack her. Kayleigh took Daryl being a Bear Shifter and that they’re mates pretty well considering that when she was about to be attacked my the Wolves and Daryl changed into his Bear she ended up fainting as she thought that Daryl had been eaten by the Bear, not that he was the Bear. I really don’t think that Antonia, Kayleigh’s sister is going to take her whirlwind relationship to Daryl and the possibility of them starting a family together very well since their sh*tty upbringing they’ve only had each other to rely on and that they’ve both never wanted kids so I’m looking forward to seeing how that goes. I’d recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
I love me some bear romance. Maybe I've read too many wolf books in my time, finding bear shifter books is a bit of freshness! I preferred the first; this tried to go 'he's creepy awkward' but I didn't see it. Yes shy and introverted, but creepy? nah. and cause that was the constant "she's not going to like me because my shyness is creepy" reason for not interacting with her, it was weird. But HEA made it all ok!! so average it is!
This is a sweet, very good, well written, Shifter/Human romance. Kayleigh grew up in the system after her parents died when she was six. She has moved around a lot before finding Bear Creek. She is afraid she will have to move soon but Daryl hopes she will not as she is his mate. He is having difficult talking with her. Read how they finally overcome their awkwardness.
He's an insecure bear shifter and she's a human who had been through the foster care system. He realizes that she is his fated mate but it's his brother who makes the most of it for them. Then something terrifying happens and she becomes aware that he will never leave her. Definitely a good read!
I so loved Daryl and the concept of a terrifying bear shifter been to shy to asked his mate for a date! This story was much more easy to enjoy because they already knew each other for 2 months unlike the previous book where the whole story happen within 24h span. Highly recommend it
An enjoyable read, although I prefer my heroes to have a bit more confidence in themselves and Daryl wasn't quite what I expected in that regard. Loved Kayleigh and her intuitive sense of things being hinky once surrounded by the bears as well - I thought it was quite a realistic way for her to see how they were treating her.
Finding Her Bear (Bear Creek Clan Book 2) by Harmony Raines. Having been brought up in care Kayleigh never wants to have a relationship in case it breaks down. Daryl knows Kayleigh is his mate but is too shy to ask her out until she says she’s moving on. Now he knows he must do something or loose her for ever.
Another wonderful story. Being shifted from one home to another would leave any child with doubts about relationships and love. But finding your one true love makes everything right.
Each shifter book by Harmony Raines gets better and better. I have read over 30 of her books. Each one is different. I can't decide which one I like best.
The story was not overly filled with drama. Just shy girl meets shy boy. I kept waiting for more action like the first book held but that really wasn’t what this book had. It was cute.
Daryl is a shy near shifter who has met his mate but is scared to tell her. When he finally does they work through her insecurities and his shyness to form a sweet lasting relationship.
I am glad I read the Return to Bear Creek books first. I don't know that I would have made it to that sieres had I started with these. The first two are nothing like the books I have really enjoyed from the other one.
This story hits all the right spots. Two lovers dancing around an attraction only one of them understands until finally fate has her way and unfolds them both in its never ending warmth and hope.
Books 1 and Book #2 were excellent reads and I am now reading Book #3 - Harmony Raines does not disappoint - love these bear series - keep them coming Harmony.
I love how Daryl is a shy man but still has some Alpha in him. Kayleigh has a troubled past but Daryl is the man to bring happiness in her life. I love reading stories about men being shy but still Alpha male because most bear books portray the male being a not shy Alpha male. I just TrueType enjoyed this book I recommend anyone to read it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Daryl is the ultimate shy, cinnamon-roll hero trying to win over fiercely independent Kayleigh. Their opposites-attract romance is warm and heartfelt. Daryl’s awkward but endearing attempts to claim his mate will make readers smile, even when he fumbles. This one has an adorable vibe of growth, trust, and learning to believe in forever.
BEAUTIFUL, HEARTWARMING, ENTERTAINING AND SATISFYING !!!
Finding Her Bear is the second book in the Bear Creek series by Harmony Raines and I absolutely loved it! Exciting! Thrilling! Entertaining! Satisfying! Heartwarming! Romantic! Sweet! Sexy! A few editing errors but overall well written. Kayleigh loved Bear Creek and didn't want to leave but if she couldn't find another job, she couldn't afford to stay. She felt more at home here than anywhere she had ever lived. She was only six when her mother died and left her and her sister alone to flounder for years in foster care. No, she didn't want to leave, not again. She was tired of wandering and searching for a home. And Daryl Cartwright didn't want her to leave. He definitely wanted her to stay - with him. After all, she was his one true mate. Now all he had to do is work up the courage to tell her. And just one other little problem - he's a bear. Now if he could only find his courage, maybe he could convince her to stay - with him and be his forever. So sweet.....An awesome read!
