No matter how hard I've tried to let go of Mister Black, the memories of us together torture me. They're an unforgettable reminder of a life I can't have for many reasons.
Burying myself in work mostly keeps thoughts of him to a screaming minimum, until he's thrust into my life under circumstances beyond my control. Despite my need for his protection, this time I'm not sure if I'm strong enough to survive with my heart intact.
He is Black: a fierce protector and irresistible charmer.
I am Red: a trouble magnet and rainbow weaver.
Together we ignite. Explosive colors merging at the hottest melting point.

4.5 I liked the direction the author took this. The plot is interesting, suspenseful, and executed well. Sebastian and Talia have experienced some ups and downs but manage to find one another because their paths were meant to be intertwined. Sebastian is a little slower to realize his feelings but the process is sweet to watch. There's plenty of action and twists to keep us on our toes but the intimacy of the story isn't lost to those details. Sexy times continue to be off the charts and I am a cemented fan of the series.
Safety: Heroine has a history of physical and sexual abuse. There don't appear to be others during this separation.
omg. I am SO SAD this series is over. I literally fell in love with Sebastian and Talia and I will definitely be going through withdrawals after this! CUE THE UGLY CRY FACE GIF:
It's hard for me to really write about this book without giving away too many of the spoilers, so instead I will just write down my *favorite* quotes from Blackest Red! Most of them highlights my favorite part of thier relationship- the back and forth banter! Enjoy!
"Thank you for the gift. You give good rainbow, Mr. Black" "I give the best fucking rainbow, Miss Lone."
"Sebastian is my drug and I'm the addict"
"Why is it so hard for you to share with me?" "Sweetheart, I've been trying to share with you for days, but you haven't been taking deposits."
"I've always been alone, Sebastian. At least...I felt that way until I ran into you."
"I want to smell like you, Sebastian, to be unable to walk tomorrow without cursing. You keep telling me I'm yours, show me why I'll always feel empty without you inside me."
"You only fight with the ones that matter" "Say's the one who riles me more than anyone I know"
This book was just amazing, as was the whole series! The way that color is incorporated into the story line is truly genius!! This is one of those series I will be saving on my kindle and NEVER deleting!
I completely enjoyed the first 3 book series and will eventually read the rest of it since it gives more of the secondary characters stories and I'm excited to read more about Cass.
This book is suspenseful, SUPER SEXY and has some mystery which has twisting and turning going on. Lots of connecting of the dots in this 3rd book!
This couple is great and although it took them a while to get it together they certainly did in a big way!
One of my favorite series...Mister Black & Scarlett Red have so much chemistry its' hard for anyone to be in a room without noticing it. Talea has found herself in another mystery, she is an investigative writer, author, friend and lover. Talea is a no BS type of person and she finds the truth at whatever it cost to herself. Everyone who comes into contact with Talia falls for her deeply. So as she gets threaten messages on her book tour Blindside, there is only one man that can protect her. Yes Mister Black, although Talia has not answer any of his messages in the last six months, Sebastian is still looking out for the only woman who has pierce that armor of his, Talia. What Talia forgot is how well they loved working together and the chemistry they have that will burn down a forest.
Will Sebastian find the person before they get to Talia and destroy her? So many twist and turns, Aunt Vanessa, Nathan the ex fiancee, Talia's fans, my other favorite character is Talia's bubbly best friend Cass, I am so glad she got her own duet...it is worth the one click you will not be disappointed.
This is the best of the three books, I enjoyed every second of it!! Great development of the story, the hero Sebastian was as usual amazing, and the heroine was improved a lot ... so I began to like her very much.
There were still moments when she pissed me off...but generally I liked her behavior in book three.
I was very sad about Sebastian's health "situation" but I guess that made the story even more special.
Loved it!!
P.S: His issue picked my curiosity...so I googled it and found that there are some kind of solutions to improve the situation ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Wow, wow, wow! I've been anticipating Blackest Red for what seems like forever even though it was only a few short months. But man oh man when you're that engrossed in a series those few months seem like forever! I waited on bated breath for the conclusion of Sebastian and Talia's story and you know what? It was epic! Everything I was hoping for and more!
Blackest Red picks up six months after Scarlett Red, I'm sure I don't need to tell you this is not a standalone. You absolutely must read the previous two books in the series to follow Blackest Red. Trust me, they're worth your time and money.
PT Michelle has created a sexy, enigmatic storyline that will leave you on the edge of your seat anticipating the next plot twist. The chemistry between Sebastian and Talia is palpable with love scenes so hot you'll worry about your ereader short circuiting! It's a good damn thing we were in sub-zero temps this week because I had to go outside to cool off more than once!
A brilliant conclusion to an epic, suspenseful series, Blackest Red by PT Michelle is a must read! 5 Always Bet On Black Stars
This third instalment of the In The Shadows series was a perfect combination of scorching hot scenes and undeniable sexual chemistry between the two main characters. The plot is filled with love, danger, mystery and suspense that will leave you begging for more.
Sebastian and Talia have had difficult lives and to see how their stories intertwined and came together in the end left me in awe. Not to mention that the story also has a number of periphery characters that you'll fall in love with and that make the story even more rich. Can I please have some more of Den?!?!?! Blackest Red went above and beyond all of my expectations, you will not be disappointed with this one.
I love P.T Michelle, it is not secret, her writing is so passionate, exquisite and written with such a capturing detail that you fall in love with this incredible journey of Sebastian and Talia. This is the third and final instalment to what has been an epic series full of SUSPENSE, SMOKING HOT CHEMISTRY, and DEEP EMOTION between two GORGEOUS characters who will capture your soul and stay with you forever. This finale takes off six months after the second book in the series, 'SCARLETT RED'. And it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I was hooked from the start, shouting at my kindle, laughing out loud and feeling every emotion possible. This book was so much more than I was expecting and I feel so full of love that P.T Michelle delivered this masterpiece finale! I am telling you readers NOTHING about the story, you will thank me when you read it! PLEASE ensure you read the first and second books in the series before diving into this one. What I will say is if you want a book FULL of danger, thrilling, suspenseful, HOTTER THAN HELL, and SOUL GRIPPING plot, THIS series is an absolute MUST READ! MR BLACK.....*sob*....it has been emotional....I will miss you...*sob*....this epic journey of you and Talia....*sob*....I just can't bring myself to say goodbye....so I will...call DIBS.....so I can keep you forever.
An absolute blinder of a conclusion to the story of Mister Black and Red.
This book had one of the most erotic scenes in it that I have quite possibly ever read….the shower scene. It was so hot, the words made the page sizzle and my kindle smoke and my boxers bulge!
The mystery of the stalker and past events became unravelled in this steamy erotic story. Ms Michelle knows how to draw a reader into the web of words. I love how she describes events so I feel every emotion. I love how she slowly peels back the layers of her characters to expose them in their most vulnerable state. I love how everything she writes makes sense. I love how she weaves her eroticism into the story without losing the flow. I love how I felt the raw emotion pouring off the page as truths were unveiled.
Ms Michelle, you are, without doubt, a very talented writer. I fell in love with Talia, hell I even had a bit of a bromance with Sebastian!
This trilogy has got to go on your read right now list. It’s intriguing, it’s sexual, it’s erotica at it’s best.
I truly enjoyed this series more than I expected. It was packed with some much of what I like to read, romance, suspense, action, sexy hot alpha navy SEAL and a strong confident heroine. Great conclusion to a great series.
I devoured this book. The story kept me so engaged, that I couldn't put this one down.
The pull that Talia and Sebastian have with each other is intense. These two are so very perfect for each other. Sebastian has so many past obstacles that make him feel as though he isn't good enough to be in a relationship with someone. He truly thinks no one would want him. Talia feels that if Sebastian knows everything about her past, he won't want her. They are both so wrong.
I loved Cas and Mina in this one. I would've loved to see Isabel get knocked down several pegs, but understand why she didn't. Hopefully, we will get to witness it at some point in future books.
I'm really sad that the next books don't have Sebastian and Talia as the MC's but am glad to hear they will be in the next ones because of their relationship with Cas and Calder.

Oh my gosh! I absolutely adore this series and Blackest Red was a perfect ending for Sebastian and Talia. The book is probably my favorite out of the entire series. The first book was hottt, the second book was combustible, but Blackest Red is beyond words. It was steamy, sensual, sexy, but sweet and endearing as well.
What Sebastian and Talia go through in this book was amazing. Yes, they were tested in every book, but it felt like they were really challenged in this one. But they overcame the obstacles that were thrown at them. And for that, I very much admire them.
They did have a bit of a rocky start and they really did have a lot to overcome together, a lot they had to learn from and about each other. It did take them awhile, but when they finally put all those fears and insecurities to the side and fully opened up, my heart swelled so much for them. I also saw amazing growth in both characters. By the end of the book I saw their fears finally being conquered and their hearts finally opening to the love they held so deeply for each other. I can’t explain how much that just made me happy!
I loved the intensity between them (of course), as I have in the first two books, but the chemistry felt more intense and more passionate. I could not get enough of the chemistry that sparked and ignited between Sebastian and Talia. I adored the push and pull between them, but I loved when they finally started to truly love and trust each other. Those two are perfect for each other.
I loved that the book is a brilliant blend of gritty, mysterious, and intense, yet at the same time sensual, deep, and sweet. The book was a flawless balance of all those elements. There were a few things I didn’t see coming, but I loved that I couldn’t really figure out some of the plot factors in the book. I was on the edge of my seat and mouth on the floor at so many points in the book.
I felt the book built up nicely and everything came to a boiling point quite intensely. The pace also flowed quite well and I enjoyed the dual perspectives of Sebastian and Talia. I also felt that Sebastian’s POV was just right and just enough as well. And the ending, oh my gosh, it really was a perfect and satisfying ending. I felt it was well deserved for Talia and Sebastian! Though I do hate it is the ending, it was a breathtaking ending.
All in all, I'm so happy to have been a part of this story. It's a must read for those who want an alluring romance.
This, again, is another review that I'm copying over from Amazon. I'd already edited this review once, because I just re-read this this series.
When I started on this series, I had no idea what to expect. First I had no clue who P. T. Michelle was, had never heard of her. Picked the first book up and then was absolutely hooked on the series.
In these books I found everything I could want - mystery, suspense, adventure, a sexy dominant, and a woman who isn't really isn't submissive, but who trusts Sebastian and is learning how to enjoy her sexy man as well as try to protect him. I found both characters to be endearing and their stories intertwined with a fine hand. I've read some reviews that complained about the aunt being ill, or that Jared, the dick, disappeared halfway through. I'd have kicked him off the curb a lot earlier than the author did, to be honest. He was a jerk.
The story itself was perfectly arced and kept me interested from beginning to end. I did go back and read about 30-40 of the more recent reviews on Amazon and on here. Sorry, there IS NO correlation between 50 and this. 50 had a supposedly dominant male who acted like a spoiled brat and a woman who had no clue how to grow up. What I found in this series, with its Dominant Alpha and his Independent Beta was a lot of real life intertwined in the book. Remember what Sebastian says about how we never know how our decisions will affect others? That says it all for this, the third book, in the series. Now, I'm on to the next book about Sebastian and Talia, and yes, to the author, I know I'm missing Calder and Cass, they'll get their day on my Kindle too. :-) Loving this series. Thank you P.T. Michelle.
If you are on the fence about reading any of the books in this series, jump off that fence and go for it!
Mr Black is like a drug. One that Talia is addicted to for life. But unlike most drugs, this is one that is ultimately good for her. Not a toxic relationship that I expected. At first I thought Mr Black wanted Talia only for the mystery and catch but these two go way deeper than that. Their chemistry, their need for each other, is everything and more. The author thankfully wraps up loose ends that I honestly thought they would be forgotten and left hanging. This was a whirlwind suspense romance that was beyond enjoyable.
I enjoyed it just as much this time as the first time I read it years ago. The passion between the H & h is awesome. I love them. Normally all of the coincidences would drive me crazy too but I like the couple enough that they aren't too bad. The story/mystery however is not worthy of 5 stars either.
This is part 3 and the conclusion of the In the Shadows serial and should be read after Scarlett Red.
I was glad to see that our couple had only spent six months apart before their paths crossed again instead of the two years in the previous installment. Neither had been out of each other’s thoughts during that time frame. Sebastian was biding his time and keeping tabs on the redheaded beauty that he can’t get out of his mind and he’s back in her life the minute there’s a threat against her.
Talia, our author and journalist, wrote about the events that happened to her in Scarlett Red and it’s a national bestseller. People’s names were changed of course but it’s publicized as based on true events and written under a pen name. Threatening letters have come to her publisher just as the book tour begins and they happen to hire Sebastian’s firm for security, an interesting coincidence or is it, knowing Sebastian’s obsession with Talia?
I love this couple! Their chemistry is undeniable, their passion intense. They are two pieces of a puzzle. They provide each other with what is missing in their lives in a way that no one else could. Talia knows that giving in to being with Sebastian who she has loved for so long could end in a heartbreak that would destroy her if there is no forever and has to face her fear of losing him. But isn’t such a love worth the risk, of having those memories to treasure if it doesn’t last forever? There is so much to Sebastian that we never knew and only wondered about, the broken pieces of him that his being with Talia make whole. He’s not a communicator but in his own ways he’s told her the things that he couldn’t say aloud and finally she starts to see it when she starts to trust and he starts to share. These two really do make rainbows for each other, they bring light into the other’s darkness, they just had to deal with the things in their past that have haunted them.
I loved the mystery added to this series, the suspense, the twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and how the past came full circle bringing closure. The choices we make in life whether intentionally or as an act of survival create ripples that sometimes come back to haunt us and perhaps guilt comes with it. We shouldn’t feel guilt for the effects of those decisions for no one can control the ripples of every decision that they make on the people and the world around them, all you can hope for is that at the time you made the right choices.
Though I very much enjoyed this series and the author’s imagination, the style of writing continued to distract me with the overuse of the word “couple” and it missing the connector “of” behind it. I still can’t fathom where people speak like this.
I can't believe I just finished reading this incredible series. Every book seemed to be getting better and better. But all good things must come to an end it seems. And Blackest Red is the perfect ending to this series. It had everything I could ask for and more. I don't think I have the words to do this book justice. There are just too many emotions flowing through me right now after just finishing this. Ms Michelle I think you may have just out done yourself here.
*noms the popcorn*
Blackest Red starts 6 months after the events of Scarlett Red and Talia is busier than ever but she can't seem to forget her Mr Black. I loved how they first went again after the time apart. I think I may have had the goofiest grin on my face, but it was so entertaining. Only to make matters worse, she is now stuck with him during the promo tour of her latest book due to some mystery death threats received at her publishing house. The best thing I like about Talia is that she is not afraid to fight. She doesn't let anything stand in her way.
Sebastian is still has dominating as ever and willing to protect Talia with his life. He's not giving up on her so easily this time around. He's prepared to make her his, not matter the cost. But man does this man oze sex appeal. I was seriously waiting for my kindle to catch on fire a few time. The chemistry between these two is unbelievable. It was all fire when they truly let go of their passion for each other.
If you read the other books in the series (which is advisable because they should be read in order) You will notice that the plot follows a similar fashion to the previous book. Again Sebastian and Talia are tracking down a mystery person that has it out for her because of her book Blindside been based on true events. Somebody doesn't want the public to know. I was fully into the whole mystery thing and then BANG! So did not see that and that or that coming. You'll just have to read the book to know what I'm talking about.
After all the struggles and self denials, it was nice to see our couple get their happy ever after.
If you like your romance novels with a bit of everything thrown in and I mean everything; mystery, suspense, drama, hot sex scenes, humour; then I can't recommend this series highly enough. It truly is just epic.
Really fantastic conclusion to the In the Shadows series. After being left hanging in part two we meet up with our fearless duo six months later. Talia is about to go on a book tour for her newest release and of course she has found herself a new stalker. To keep her safe, her publishing company hires none other than Sebastian Black.
I love these two characters, I love their chemistry, I love their banter and I love how they work together. They both are running from something and both are running in circles around each other. Sebastian feels like he is less than a man and doesn't know how to commit. He is strong, brave and fiercely loyal. He protects what is his at all costs and leaves no room for argument. Talia has a questionable past she wants to forget about but she can't seem to get away from it. She is tough and doesn't take crap from anyone. She is also smart but sometimes too forgiving. She wants to see the good in everyone but herself. She discovers she wants more, but is too scared to go out their and get it.
The chemistry and tension was off the charts and at times exhausting. Beyond the tension of these two unbelievably stubborn characters we have a mystery brewing. Talia's life is in danger and Sebastian needs to keep her safe. But when the clues are confusing and the new threat is out for blood how will these two ever find their way?
I do have to say...that was unexpected. I loved how the author kept you guessing, because when you think you might know what is happening, you don't. These books were a great mix of steam, intrigue, action, suspense, chemistry and breathlessness. This was also a great ending to their story, everything gets wrapped up and everything begins to make sense.
I look forward to what the author has in store next because there are few other story lines that could surely be wrapped up in another book or two.
What can I say, except, what a satisfying, intense and thrilling ending to the In the Shadows series! Blackest Red not only bought Talia and Sebastian together, but their pasts too, and I was surprised and intrigued to see how their lives twisted together.
Talia is a very private person and has kept a lot of her past to herself. She has only told Sebastian some of the details and when I learned more about her past, it really saddened me to know what she had been through, but it also showed the strength she has to be the person she is today.
Sebastian is completely hooked by Talia, but finds it hard to deal with his feelings for her. He wanted to keep her as close as possible and taking on a body guard position, when she is threatened, is his way of getting under her skin. I could see how deep his feelings ran for her in his possessiveness and ever watchful gaze.
I love the intensity and the passion that these two have, but lack of love throughout their lives keeps them on edge and they feel a little unworthy. They helped each other with so much throughout this series and continued to do so throughout this book, even in the difficult situations they tend to find themselves in.
P.T. Michelle showed me once again how well she can build a world and characters that I enjoy to read about. There were a few twists thrown in that I didn’t see coming and I was constantly on edge wondering what was going to happen next. I have loved reading the In the Shadows series and I hope we get more books from this world in the future, because there are a few characters that I would like to see again!
Complimentary copy provided by the Author in exchange for an honest review.
This is one of those books that I highlighted something on almost every page. The words in this book were perfect and memorable. I feel like this series was a bit long and drawn out, but this last book blew me away. I didn't really connect with Talia and Sebastian in the first two books, but I fell for them both in this final book. Even when Talia was fighting her love and attraction to him with everything she had.
“I don’t want to be your obligation. I want to be your fucking obsession.”
As frustrating as it is when people deny themselves what they really want, sometimes it makes the moment they give in incredibly powerful and beautiful.
The dual narrative was much appreciated. An epilogue would have been amazing, but the ending was still perfect. I don't want to say much more about this book. There's so much mystery involved that I feel it's imperative to go in questioning everything. So instead of more review, I'll leave you with some of my favorite quotes...
“Thank you for the gift. You give good rainbow, Mr Black." "I give the fucking best rainbow, Miss Lone,”
“You asked me why I want you. I could say it’s because you’re intelligent, stubborn, and sexy as fuck. But the simple truth is, I don’t have a choice.”
"Sebastian is my drug and I’m the addict."
“Step off the ledge. Anyone worth winning has to be worth losing your heart to in the first place.”
“You bring color to my life every day in a sea of sameness, Talia."
“You will never lose red from your life, because your red will still be here, standing right in front of you. But if the day ever does come, where all colors completely disappear…let me be your rainbow, Sebastian. I can show you where to look.”
The first book pulls you in, the second one has a 'second-book-spunk' and here we are at the final book that wrap ups everything up.
Overall: The fact that P. T. Michelle has the ability to sustain the mystery and anticipation throughout the whole trilogy just amazes me. Not all authors of series have the capability to do that! It's like I'm falling in love with the trilogy book by book whereas some others, the wow-factor just drops as the series continues.
The ending was so sweet that I too, fell in love!!
"Settling me against his chest, he wraps his arms around me. “Now let’s watch the sunrise and don’t skimp on any colors. I want the full, 120 box of crayons version.” "
-
Made me smiled so hard:
PainInMyAss: Are you ever going to change my contact info?
Me: It’s perfect just the way it is.
PainInMyAss: While I admit to an endless fascination with that gorgeous ass of yours, something more personal perhaps.
Me: Maybe it should be PantyThief? Found your Talia stash today!
Even though I’m teasing him, I cried when I ran across them in a bureau drawer. He had kept every pair.
PainInMyAss: Those are Talia Trophies; hard earned and worth all that sweat. Of course I kept them.
I grin and while I’m changing his contact info, he sends a text with ideas for his new contact name.
Snorting at his outlandish suggestions, I send him a screen shot with his new name.
Me: Happy?
RainbowMaster: Exceedingly. How long does GNO last?
Me: Until it’s over.
RainbowMaster: Expect to be kidnapped after four hours.
Me: What happened to that infamous control, Mister Black?
Now the ending. Time to say good-bye. Sniff... Sniff... Yes, I am being dramatic. Maybe I want Sebastian too. Damn that man is hot in the book world.
Ok, back to the review...
Just finished Blackest Red. Every chapter was perfect. The last chapter brought a few tears of happiness. Sebastian and Talia have been written so perfectly matching and needing each other. The perfect mystery that keeps the plot moving and the chemistry you feel for the characters move you and make you yearn for the passion that these two feel.
Thank you PT Michelle for writing part three perfectly wonderful.
Now, I am just sad the story is over, but happy for the ending.
This type of book makes it hard to sleep, work or just freaking concentrate. Got home, growled at those around, picked up my kindle and didn't do anything else until I finished this book. YES, I am gushing a bit because I found this such awesome read.
The reader is tossed right back into the fray with Sebastian (one on the best male leads I've read this year) and Talia (her character is really good as well). There are stalkers, jealous exes, potential new love interest, fires, car crashes, fighting and guns. I am not forgetting the unexpected stuff that pop up. The author did so well with tying elements from three books together that doesn't leave any questions about our leading characters. A very angsty and edgy story.
I absolutely loved this conclusion to the In The Shadows Series. I was always devastated at the ends of both Books 1 & 2 with how they both ended. I'm happy with how Talia & Sebastian's relationship turns out. I don't want to leave any spoilers and trying to write this review expressing what parts I liked is proving to be hard. Let me just say that I was totally floored by the events that transpired through the book. I did not see them coming.
Dang it ... Is it really over already ? Way more than five stars 5+++++++ . I just thought the second book rocked well let me just say Sebastian and Talia story just keep getting better . We need more Sebastian in the world for sure . I hate giving spoilers so I'm not saying much other than there are a few surprises in this book but it also answers a lot of questions ... A MUST READ !!!
