This book was *mwah* 🤌 Chef’s Kiss
Book two picked up right where we ended on the cliffhanger from book one. Obviously it’s focused a lot on Evelyn and Adam because they are the ones who were taken prisoner by HPAW.
To be honest, if I had to choose a favorite from the duo, it would be Revelations. BUT I should’ve tempered my expectations because clearly book 1 had the falling in love and relationship development. And then Atonement was HEAVY on the action. We still saw some romance, but not nearly as much.
I also enjoyed having some different POVs. When we started to learn about Adam’s mate I updated my GR status saying I wanted more of that… and was happy to receive a hint of it.
I’m going to keep it very generic to avoid spoilers, but the new addition towards the end of the story was so sweet and wholesome. It was cute to see how the characters reacted and behaved.
LOW: Atonement immediately sucks you in and keeps your attention with the fast moving storyline. Super bingeable and a great read.

1.5 ⭐️s. Or, this book could have been an email.
Wow, this was exceedingly bad. I’m shocked because I gave book one 4 stars for breaking out of conventional story telling tropes and being surprisingly highly enjoyable. This book was nearly the complete opposite.
First of all, it was BORING. All of the action happened in the first 30% of the book and from then on, the main character, Evelyn, was completely absent from any vital scenes. She was literally just TOLD what happened for the rest of the book. No, I’m not exaggerating. She saw no fighting. She watched most of the plot from a computer screen or heard it second hand from Knox. Yes the beginning hostage section was decent because of the suspense and the danger, and Knox’s fake out death did get me in the moment, but that was IT. The rest of the “action” was conversations and phone calls.
The entire huge boiling point of dismantling HPAW came down to a fucking video call where the wolves got… exactly what they wanted with no issues and no stress. It was extremely anticlimactic. The American government was all of the sudden a pushover with seemingly no backup plans? Cool, makes sense.
There were terrible inconsistencies and errors. On page 42, Adam was described as a third grade teacher, and then on page 302 he was retconned into a being a middle school teacher. On page 137, “lightning” was used where it should have been “lightening”. On page 210, Bilirubin was misspelled as “biliruben”. Who TF is biliruben.
The “friendship” between Evelyn and Adam could have been a really cool plot point and a chance for the characters to grow even more. Instead literally nothing happened between them and they never spoke about what happened at the facility, nor did they even interact much afterwards, even though Evelyn said he was her best friend?
The characters are mostly flat as hell. It worked for the first book because Evelyn was brainwashed and didn’t CARE to learn about anyone, so it made sense that they were mostly ignored from her point of view. But this one should have had a huge amount of fleshing out since she’s now invested in these people. Yet, I don’t give a single fuck about any character besides Adam, and that’s because he’s funny, because there’s genuinely nothing to know about any of them.
And please, don’t even get me fucking started on the baby plot. Are we fucking kidding? Evelyn spends many chapters saying that she’s not ready for children and isn’t in a good space for a baby. She spent literally the last 10 years of her life, including many childhood years, sheltered from the outside world with no idea of who she even is. She openly admits to being abused by men when she was a child and has had no time to unpack ANY OF THAT because her mate saw her (uncomfortably, mind you) caring for a baby and went “ummm my internal doggie likes that 🥺👉🏻👈🏻”. YOU’RE LITERALLY YANKING ON MY DICK BRO. He essentially guilts her into motherhood.
The ending was so weird and rushed. The sudden POV change was jarring and confused me badly. I thought at one point I was reading a sneak peak at book three but I remembered that this was advertised as a duology, and there was just essentially a random 5 chapter novella at the end instead, meant to give closure to Adam and Bells’s story? But it sucked really bad and made no sense so idfk what the point of that was. Also I guess we’re just meant to assume that everyone else lived happily ever after with no issues. Completely unsatisfying.
To top it all off, the sex scenes were AWFUL!!! Why am I having trouble following what’s happening? Why is this porn so inconsistent? They’d suddenly be “kissing again” when they never started in the first place, or Knox would start speaking when last we knew he was in the middle of kissing her. And it was boring vanilla bullshit.
Also, I hate to be an asshole, but the drawings are terrible and REALLY detract from the book. Half of them look unfinished, the other half look traced, and every time a wolf was depicted in one it was distractingly, laughably horrendous.
I don’t think I’ll ever read another book by this author.

Land of Wolves: Atonement was a decent read, but unfortunately, it did not quite live up to the expectations set by the first book. For me, it felt a bit more like a filler book in the series.
There were definitely aspects I enjoyed, particularly the overall plot and the character relationships. The book was broken up into distinct segments (parts one, two, and three), which ultimately made the reading experience feel quite choppy.
I really felt like the relationship between Alpha Knox and Evelyn should have been the main focal point. I wanted to see the story build on their dynamic much more. Instead, a lot of time was spent on Adam and Bells, which unfortunately made their storyline feel rushed at the very end.

OK so literally nothing of importance happened in this book, and I feel like it was cut short or something? The beginning was actually interesting, I liked it, but it just made the stuff after seem worse. Evelyn talks about wanting to find herself and her personality after finally escaping HPAW, but instead they bust some humans out of there, she adopts Hudson, and NOTHING else happens. No character development, no plot twists, nothing. Literally every problem Evelyn and Caleb had was magically solved when they adopted the baby, which is bullshit. The climax of this book was literally a PHONE CALL…The only good part was the last 3 chapters because they were in Bells perspective and it was something new.

3.5 stars. Not as good as book 1. The first part of the book was exciting and then it got kind of boring. Caleb is the only good part of the book. He was a good character and had some depth. Evelyn was strange to me and maybe it's because she wasn't really around other people but her character arc didn't really continue in this book. She always felt like a flat character. The book was a quick read and there were some side characters that you start to like but I don't know if it's enough for me to read any other books in this series. The biggest issue was that the book just ended, it felt totally unfinished.

This duology is 👌.
At the moment we have a few authors who dominate the paranormal romance SHIFTER space. In my opinion they mostly write formulaic trash. It's utter nonsense and you can almost always take the same bones in all of their books and just swap out a few details, slap a new title on it and call it a new release. And even though occasionally reading them to fill in the gaps between decent releases is functional, it's never satisfying.
This duology is different, we have a really quality writer here who has built two main characters that are so eye wateringly lovable and flawed, it's almost painful to read their journey at times. There is real thought here about who wolf shifters might be. What would their communities be like? This isn't Alpha-hole nonsense.
The MMC reminds me so acutely of my own partner it left me reeling.
I absolutely loved the way this author built her love story and the way she tied off the duology was perfection. I absolutely LOVED this story and the characters she created. In fact I loved it so much I'm going to read another of her duologies immediately! I would like these books in quality to Ali Hazelwood, if you liken her 'Mate' you're probably going to love these too

I’m not sure what happened between the first book and this one? But the writing got very repetitive and took us completely out of the main plot. We heard what was happening but were so far removed from any of the action. We were just sitting on the sidelines getting highlights and recaps tossed to us like scraps. I’m a bit bummed about it.

This book was way too long for what happened in it to be honest. The author could've just ended it with a happy ending in book 1. This felt like it didn't add much to the story, which is unfortunate as I was expecting more after finishing book 1.

I enjoyed the series and breezed right through this book however I did feel a little underwhelmed of the resolution. I kept feeling like there was this buildup that never fully came? I am not sure how or what to say/feel about it yet. I’m going to take a minute to marinate on this. I also felt like we were being told a story instead of getting to experience it if that makes any sense. Like an after thought almost?

Book 2 of the shifter romance between a human and alpha. Continues after the cliffhanger of Ev’s kidnapping.
Unfortunately this book could have been a few chapters added to the first. I still enjoyed the characters, but this had less action and character growth. Once the main characters were reunited things dragged. I will probably continue the series because I do enjoy a shifter family dynamic, but I’m really hoping for more tension similar to the first book.

I received an ARC of this book and am leaving my honest, voluntary review.
Invi's books are just so easy to read and get lost in the world. The second book in the Land of Wolves Duology was no different. Book one left us in a very precarious place, so I was desperate to start book two and find out what was going to happen next. Evelyn and Adam have been captured by HPAW. Ev's literal worst fear is being back in their clutches after she finally saw how much they manipulated her and destroyed her life. We get pure action for the first third of the book. I was holding out hope for the shifters to come to the rescue but it was a nail biter waiting to see if that was ever going to happen. I loved the bond that grew between Evelyn and Adam and the creative ways they found to attempt to communicate with the pack.
What I love so much about these books and the created shifter community is the genuine feeling of love and care between the characters. The most tender and sweet moments happened amidst the chaos and strife. The fated mates trope is swoon worthy and in this book I found myself wishing that was a real thing that I could experience. The all encompassing feeling of safety and love would be the ultimate gift.
I was taken on a journey with Evelyn's character, seeing her growth and sense of responsibility for a community that she betrayed, change to one of belonging and forgiveness. And we can't forget about Chunk, who was such a sweet reminder that redemption is there if we take a chance to reach for it. I could see more interconnected books within this world, and I'd love to see more about Adam and Bells; their enemies to lovers story could be epic.

I think this book was fine but could've been better. A lot of the comments say this could've been added to book 1 and I agree. The author could've included the first 25% of this novel, wrapped up the novel, and concluded in 1 book rather than breaking into 2 books.
My main gripe with this novel is this: In what world, in what history book, does the United States of America EVER do what they say they'll do? America has, and always will, lie. This book concludes with the US "agreeing" to the wolves demands and actually following through. Not only is that unbelievable, it's absolutely ridiculous. I write this as an American. US politicians and people in leadership positions have never told the truth and have broken most treaties signed throughout our history. So the fact that this ends with the US conceding to the wolves demands honestly made me laugh out loud.

I’m so sad the series is over, I love this world and the characters. This one sucked me in faster than I was sucked into the first one, devouring it in less than 24 hours. Whilst there is no doubt that author can really write & tell a super captivating story - this book fell flat for me. Especially in comparison to how much I loved the first book.
One major issue I had with this book is the lack of in depth descriptions of the new characters - I really hard a hard time imagining what the characters looked like, which makes it harder for me to engage with the story in general.
I felt the book actually focused more on Adam than Caleb - and I actually felt like him (Adam) & Ev had wayyyyyyy more chemistry! I wanted to know more about him, picture him better. I thought his choice of mate was totally random.
I thought the plot line was interesting enough - if not a little predictable.
I would have loved more spice - more jealousy - more SOMETHING. I love a happy ending but I wished the book had been fleshed out a bit more. It definitely wasn’t bad - it’s just not a book I’d rush to recommend - whereas the first book I was feral for!
I am definitely interested to read more from this author!
One major issue I had with this book is the lack of in depth descriptions of the new characters - I really hard a hard time imagining what the characters looked like, which makes it harder for me to engage with the story in general.

I DONT WANT IT TO BE OVER!!!!
I desperately don’t want to let go of Caleb and Evelyn after the whirlwind of chaos, tension and emotions from this duology!
Invi always gives the most binge-worthy reads and that is so true for Land of Wolves.
This second book really dove into the plot and clearing up all the chaos and destruction from book one & Invi was sure to wrap up all the loose ends and give everyone their HEAs ❤️🔥
This one was super fast paced and had a bit less romance and spice than the first, but what is here is perfection! We really get to see the healing and growth the characters and their relationships have gone through as they’ve developed, feeling like a full circle moment.
Evelyn finally has come into her own as a woman and I love seeing her step into the female alpha role.
Caleb is the perfect man, as per usual, I loveddddddd seeing him interacting with a certain new character that comes into play in the last half of the book 👀✨

Book one really pulled me in during the second half, and that ending had me excited to read this one. After finishing, I’m still not quite sure how I feel. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t dislike it either.
The writing style felt a bit choppy at times, though it also had some genuinely quick-witted moments that had me chuckling. I was expecting the buildup between HPAW and the shifters to play a much bigger role in the story, so that aspect fell a little flat for me.
I was especially intrigued by Bells and a certain shifter, but their storyline seemed to end rather abruptly in the final chapter. I’m not sure if that’s setting them up for their own book or if that’s simply where their story ends.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad read, but I was hoping for a bit more from the conclusion.

Lo mejor del libro son todos los personajes secundarios, los protagonistas son un desastre.
Sigo pensando que este libro me recuerda al estilo de escritura de Wattpad. Me pareció super infantil.
Ella después secuestrada junto con otro de los lobos de la manada, tuene que buscar la manera de salir. Cuando logra escapar se enfocan en rescatar a personas que han sido manipuladas por una institución humana que odia a los lobos. En medio de ese proceso el vínculo entre los protagonistas se sigue desarrollando.
Empezó media rara la historia, pero siempre puede ser peor y eso empezo después del 60% del libro.
A los adolescentes le encanta este tipo de libros, no creo que le gusta mucho a los adultos.

Atonement picks up immediately where book 1 leaves off and it’s straight action for a good chunk! (And once you read this book, you’ll understand how “chunk” is very much a pun/new character reference here 😉).
I enjoyed how fast-paced this book was. I also really loved Adam in book 1, and it was good to see him shine in this one!
Book 2 is less spice, and more focus on wrapping up the story.

Another easy read to keep me loving reading. Though I liked book one a little bit more, this one was still pretty fun to read. You get some more character development from Ev and Adam becomes a more lovable guy. There are some sussy things that grossed me out a little bit, but I understood why it was done to move the plot forward. I loved that the duology wrapped up with everyone getting a happy ending

This had such promise, but so much of the action happened off page and made it really difficult to connect. 3 stars cause the vibes were still there, but dang.
