Breedable

Rate this book
A thousand years ago, there were alphas, betas, and omegas. Now there are only breeders and breedables.

In a world where male breedables are hunted for the auction block quicker than they are born, safety comes at a price. Luken and Iri’s time together is on a deadline. If they can’t breed, they can’t be together. They’re willing to try anything to stay in each other’s arms. Even if that means leaving the safety of the city.

Time is running out.

This was short and sweet. It was a very interesting take on omegaverse that I don’t tend to see very often. Having breeders and breedables it a world where conception was harder for the men and certain aspects of Alpha, Beta and Omega were not as prominent. I enjoyed seeing this take. The love Iri and Luken shared was so sweet and when the rest of their arrived and it was clear they were all meant to be. This was a nice read!

I really enjoyed this unique take on the OV world that Hazelwood has created - the breeders and the breedables, the way evolution moved from the 3 (well, 5) second-gender society to the now two gender; I was genuinely fascinated with this take, and loved that Hazelwood delivered all the world-building in such a clever way as one of the MMC's classes taking a pop-quiz (he's a teacher).

I think what I also love about this concept is that primary gender doesn't matter - if you're a breedable, you can be the one to carry child, and I liked the uniqueness that came with single-primary gender towns, as well as mixed-primary gender towns. Honestly, I could keep reading about this universe for a long time, because I know there is so much more lore to uncover.

The romance at the heart of the story is also really sweet, and I love how Luken is willing to do anything to ensure he and Iri can stay together, regardless of the rules society places on breeder/breedable pairs. I love that Hazelwood has still managed to include the theme of "pack" in this story, despite the new world order that's been created, and how Luken and Iri are still able to get their HEA with their pack through trials and tribulations of creating offspring.

I honestly hope for more from this new universe, because I can see so many opportunities ongoing. I do wish this introductory story was longer, but at the same time, it is the perfect length and filled with just the right amount of world-building and character creation to stand on it's own. Hazelwood has me curious, and I'm looking forward to more!

Thank you to the author for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily

This is a quick read but full of emotional struggles and heartwarming aspects. I devoured this story. Luken and Iri are in love and to be able to stay together they have to conceive a child in a certain time frame. Things are not going well for them. The whole concept of the story is unique and fascinating. Being a breedable but only if genetics between partners work regardless of sex. Luken is so strong trying to keep the two of them together he is willing to do anything even leaving the safety of the city they live in. While Iri struggles the most emotionally trying every concoction out there to try and conceive. There is still twists and so many heartwarming moments, and the introduction of the new pack was such a sweet moment. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Omegaverse stories aren’t usually my go-to, but Crea completely won me over with this one. It was such a fun and engaging read, and honestly—male breedables? I’m all in. Definitely worth it!
