Zombie Slayers: Dawn of the Living
The second book in the Floyd & Mikki series by veteran author Joseph Tatner. Picking up where the highly acclaimed novel, "Floyd & Zombie Hunters," left off, the two main characters continue their search for a place to call home in a dystopian world populated by the undead. Their love for each other continues to blossom, as the zombies get badder, the weapons get better, and the action gets bigger. The first book received a 5-star review from Readers’ Favorite, and is available as an eBook on amazon.com, iTunes, and other online retailers.
Reviewers have called the first book “A hilarious foray into the world of zombies.” Tatner approaches this world with humor, yet the story is “compelling” with “colorful characters” and does include “truly creepy parts and genuine horror.” The author’s engaging writing style, humor, characters, action, and story have all enabled the book to attract a wide range of fans, including readers who otherwise would never consider reading a zombie novel. There is something in this book for everyone.
According to Tatner, “I have never been a fan of zombie movies. I think they are the dumbest of all monsters and I don’t like excessive blood and gore. However, my wife loves zombie and monster stories. She and I had recently seen World War Z in the theater, and while we were waiting to change planes in an airport, I joked that I should write a book called, Floyd & Zombie Hunters. She didn’t like the name Wanda, so I changed it to Mikki. I liked the new spin World War Z had taken and I decided to write something completely different with a lot of humor.”
As the second book comes to publication on Valentine's Day, 2015, the author is already hard at work on Floyd & Mikki 3: Zombie Destroyers. Although the book is in many ways a spoof of typical zombie stories, Tatner also plans a spoof of his own spoof series in a fourth book. Meanwhile, the author keeps working on other novels and expects to release an action/adventure novel titled Caribbean Heat soon, as well. F&M 2 thumbs up
I enjoyed reading the first book and was so excited when part 2 came out! I loved it! Not going to give away anything but looking forward to part 3 (the sooner, the better lol). Love the humor, the suspense and the characters. Ok, maybe not all the characters, but again, no spoilers :-)

I'm really enjoying this series! A very good mix of horror & humor.

Great sequel! I'm so glad Floyd and Mikki's story continued. When I finished F+M 1, I had a book hangover for at least a week. Then I realized F+M 2 was out and that made me feel better. I spent the majority of this book worried about which characters would live or die. It really stressed me out! It's rare that I find characters that I feel that strongly about, so it's a refreshing change for me.
I love what this author has done with these 2 characters and I really enjoy most of the people they meet along the way. They sure do keep the apocalypse exciting!
This is a great book and a great series. I highly recommend it to all zombie fans. Keep in mind this series is more about how the characters grow and evolve from where they start. Mikki grows up a lot. Floyd was pretty much grown already, but he still learns how to...well you'll see when you read it!
