Another exciting adventure with Alex Cross and John Sampson, only they are working cases separately this time! Damon, Alex’s son has gone missing and Alex must find him. John catches a bombing cases in D.C. and both of them are missing the other as they work their cases. Luckily Nana Mama is holding down the home front and keeping the younger kids safe. It was quite the ride up until things all wrapped up. I enjoyed the story and enjoyed seeing more of John Sampson in this story because he wasn’t being overshadowed by Alex Cross. A very good read!

This is a typical Patterson book that you can finish in one day. While Cross and Sampson don’t work their cases together in this novel, they share a great friendship. It is interesting and fast-paced. I immersed myself in reading it and was disappointed when I realized I only had 30 pages left.

I like the style of short chapters with endings that make you want to keep reading. An exciting story of bombings, and kidnapping. The 2 men Cross and Sampson are both trying to put an end to the horrible events of destruction and life changing. I didn’t want to put the book down.

Great book and not too long. the reader of Alex in the audiobook though whispered too much versus the volume of the characters so too loud or too quiet

Typical comfortable entertaining first three quarters of a book that falls flat in the end

Classic Patterson - even though now even his original series has a co-author. Clear plot, fast pace, family, and the good guys win

I cannot pass up an Alex Cross book. This one alternated between a case Alex was working on in NC and a separate one John Sampson was dealing with in DC. Very face paced.

BOO! I've been following Alex Cross for over 20 years and this was terrible! Terrible writing, old storylines and boring.

I love Alex Cross and John Sampson. Their crime solving, brotherhood, and the dynamic of their family. Great story, as always!

Typical Patterson fare. Shows how out of touch Patterson is with Black Americans.
