Joshua has screwed up big time. he knows he has a mountain to climb to redeem himself. He is in no mans land with Tiffany and needs to behave himself when he's around her, to prove he's not just obsessed with getting in her underwear again. A date at the creek to watch the sunset. Kinda romantic, he feels. It all seems perfect. Even if her little sister is tagging along. His day ends with an undercurrent of menace in the air. Problems he has to deal with and plans to resolve.
I like to read books with a helluva good story as well as the superheated hot stuff, and that's the kind of thing I like to write.
The story is of utmost importance in my mind. The characters and details fit into that framework. And I take a lot of care over my characters and details.
I'm a self confessed love-a-holic, living in my heated imagination. Not that that's a bad place to be living, but it does make ordinary, day to day life, a little less than exciting at times.
I have to kick myself up the backside now and then and remind myself that books is books and life is life. LOL
I've read hundreds of books in a variety of genres - love, mystery, intrigue - and to be honest, I enjoy a little gruesome horror as well. Shocking, scary, downright gory really gets me going.
I worked in finance until a few years ago, and if you've ever read Hot Options, one of my books, you'll see a real glimpse of the old me in there. All the technical stuff is true to life.
My office is my comfy sofa and my even comfier bed. YES, it really is. I sit on my bed and type like a pro getting up to 5k words out on some days.
Wow. In this second Riders book, we get a look inside Josh's head. He isn't quite as bad as he seemed in book 1. He's actually a bit of a sweetheart. Which is good, because I really wanted to like him. And by the end of this book, I did. And you will too. If you read book 1, (Which you HAVE to do) then you think that he is quite the bad boy. In a way, he still is, but this book shows that he is a bit misunderstood.
As far as Tiffany is concerned, we can't see inside her head this time, but we can see her lighten up and come to like Josh more as the story progresses. Her special needs sister comes to like him too.
In a side story, Josh is having problems with his father and someone causing problems on their ranch.
I'm anxious to see what happens in book 3!
As with all Katrina's books, I highly recommend this book. She is my all time favorite author, and you would be doing yourself a favor by getting acquainted with her books. ;)

I loved this second installment of the Riders series! In here we get to know Josh and his story, the real man behind the careless mask, the one vulnerable enough to do the things he normally wouldn't do for any woman.
It's clear how Tiffany rocked his world and how he's smitten (that may be an understatement) he is with her. It's sweet what he did and he really made the effort, although he's not so eloquent in words.
He and Tiffany are on equal footing when it came to admitting their attraction for each other. There's no hot sex here but the events were more meaningful. There's a teaser though. I'm looking forward to how the story would unfold.
