The Society #2

Rise of the Fae

Rate this book
In a post-virus New World, authentic humans are a hot commodity. And The Society rules.

Neeman has tried everything to overcome the pain of both heartbreak and being forcibly turned into a vampyr. When he meets the headstrong Selene in a nightclub, she could be the change he needs. Her beautiful human-like features stand out among the vamps, and he has no choice but to bring her back to his Tracking Squad’s compound before she gets herself killed.

Charged with stopping a demon invasion, Selene has been sent back to the Earth Realm by the Fae. But en route, she loses the talisman that can keep her darker nature, and her impulses, under control. With Vampires now ruling Earth there are more vices than ever to distract her from her mission. Especially Neeman, whose hard body and piercing gaze awakens a primal desire within her. He’s the only one who can protect her from The Society, and from even darker forces on the horizon…but he can’t protect her from himself.

Review

description

To tell the truth, I went into this one with hesitations because I didn't read the first book in this series but I did read some great reviews and some mentioned that there was a love triangle between the H/h from the first book and the H from this (second) book. So that made me quite uneasy, since I absolutelly dislike love triangles. Thankfully, there were no love triangles in this story and I'm so glad I've been given the chance to read this amazing story.

Rise of the Fae is not a stand-alone story, so I would recommend to read the first book in this series. Also, it does has a HEA for the main characters but the story alone is not fully finished.

The story starts with Selene/Seraphine being sent back to the Earth Realm by the Fae (her mother and the Elders) with the mission to kidnap her brothers mate Danika. The plan is for Mason, Selene's brother, to follow his mate to the Fae Realm where he will be imprisoned, since he's too strong on his own and the Elders are afraid of his power. What the Fae don't know, however, is that Selene has no intentions of carrying out her mission. She just wants to get away from her evil selfish mother, find her beloved brother and to gain freedom on the Eart Realm. But there is one little (OK, maybe huge) problem to her plan: first off, the Fae have a back-up plan; Selene lost her amulet that helps keeping her demon side in check; and there is one sexy but very stubborn male keeping her from seeing her brother.

I loved seeing the journey of Selene and Neeman. They started off on a bad note but as they slowly got to know each other, they really became a cute couple. Of course there were some bumps and twists on their road but it was great to see the couple overcoming them.

Neeman is your typical alpha, who is used to things going his way. He's a soldier and expects from others to follow his orders. Of course when he meets Selene his world gets turned upside down, since she does what she wants for the most part. I liked how he overcame his past demons and opened up to Selene.

“He pulled her close. “You’re mine,” he whispered.
“Now and forever,” she replied.

As for Selene, she's half Fea and half Demon. She constantly batlles with her demon side for control, even more now that she's lost her amulet. She is full of life and would do everything to protect those she loves. I really liked her character, she's a strong heroine.

I would definitely recommend this story to readers who love mystery, action, romance and loyalty. A great read!

Rise of the Fae (The Society #2) by Rebekah R. Ganiere Rebekah R. Ganiere’s Rise of the Fae is a thrilling and stimulating novel.  This adult futuristic novel, where vampires now rule the earth, takes place in Chicago.  The Fae sent Selene to the Earth Realm to stop a demon invasion.  Selene is mistaken for a rare human and put in the care of vampyr, Neeman.

Being from Chicago, I appreciate that the book takes place there.  I enjoyed both Selene and Neeman.  Both characters are complex and interesting to read about.  I love the plot.  There was numerous twist, ulterior motives, and secrets that kept the story fast-paced and exciting.

This was the first book I read by Rebekah R. Ganiere.  I enjoyed her creativity and writing style.  I am interested in going back and reading book one, Reign of the Vampires.  I would also, continue to read this series.  It was a unique twist in vampire novels that is captivating.  I think this series would make a great television series or movie.

Wow, vampires, vampyr, vamps, demons, humans. Book two is jam packed with them all.
I love this storyline and I do love Neeman. He struggles with his new life, can’t let go of his old one. Can’t bring himself to be happy, until Selene shows up. But with Selene comes death, destruction and well hell on earth.
Can they all survive? Can Selene help Neeman become comfortable with his life and the way it has turned out?
This is so with the read

This review and more can be seen at http://gothicmoms.blogspot.com/

In Reign of the Vampire, Rebekah R. Ganiere introduced us to a new breed of vampires, with three distinct classifications; the Vampires whom were born, the vampyr who were bitten and the vamps who were victims of an experiment gone horribly wrong. Readers also learned that the human race was close to extinction, as well as the existence of demons. This action packed addition to the series introduces the fae, and Tinkerbell they are not.

By the end of Reign of the Vampire, most were thinking of Neeman as whiny, conceded b--ch. Before getting to the end of Chapter one those feelings will completely change. Readers will get a much more in depth look at the man and start seeing him as much more than just a jealous ex. By the middle of the book he will develop an even bigger cheering squad than Mason had.

Neeman never wanted to become a vampyr and has always hated and mistrusted that part of himself, and always mourned his mortal life. Having been able to find comfort within Dannika and then losing her just made things seem all the worse. But when a seemingly harmless 'human' walks onto the dance floor of his bar of choice, his entire world gets flipped upside down real quick. The vixen seems to be just looking for trouble in the worst possible way, and looking to make his head split in two. And though he can't seem to keep track of whether or not her eyes our purple or green, the more he learns about her, the more he wants her. But trouble seems to just follow in her wake and he knows she is hiding something that could destroy what little peace left in this plain of the Earth.

Most people have a metaphorical hidden inner demon, some like Selene have a very real hidden inner demon. One hell bent on causing chaos and destruction wherever she goes. That isn't her biggest problem. She has been sent back to Earth, something she couldn't be more joyous about if it didn't come with the mission she's been sent on. If she goes through with what it is she is supposed to do, not only will she lose what little family she has left, but the one male she has come to love. And while the vampires may be sick and twisted in their own ways, they have at least kept up some semblance of peace. The same won't be said if the fae or demons have their way.

This book is for true fans of the lore and vampires who most definitely do not shine unless they're glistening with sweat, or blood. Full of action, blood, guts, chaos, mayhem, plot twists, characters full of life and some romance thrown in between. A series to be enjoyed by any gender, so long as they are not squeamish. Though this book can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading book 1 first.

I loved this second book in The Society series, "Rise of the Fae". In this book we have the story of Mason's sister, who holds a similar secret that Mason had in Book 1, "Reign of the Vampires". She's come into this world with a secret mission that could not only destroy her brother but our world as well. While here she meets Neeman, once a human but now a vampyr. They are attracted to each other and she has to fight herself to keep her secrets. Through threats and passion she has to keep to her mission, but has a trick up her sleeve that she hopes will save Neeman and this world from the Demons that want nothing more than to destroy it. Pick it up and find out if she's able to stick to her destructive mission as well as save Neeman and the rest of this new Vampire Society and what's left of the human world. I don't do spoilers so this is all you get from me. If you've read this author before or are a fan of the paranormal you will need to run not walk to get this book in author Rebekah Ganiere's "Society" series, and I've got to tell you I can't wait to read whose story will be told next.

"Rise of the Fae" WOW, Rebekah has written one Undeniably Awesome Book. "Rise of the Fae" is in my top 3 most favorite books I've ever read.
Her storyline is exquisite and her plot is exceptional. There is a large cast of characters main and secondary. Each character is uniquely different and endearing. You will either love then or hate them.
Rebekah has such an inexplicable talent for putting a story together in a way that locks you into the very heart of the story. It simply carries you away into its depts. I laughed, I cried, I was scared and I was angry. It is a phenomenal writer, that can not only pull you into the heart of the story, but fill you with the characters emotions and bring out your own.
Selene is part Fae and part Demon. She has spent the last 20 years on the Fae Plain. The Fae are sending Selene on a mission so that the Fae can capture her brother, Mason, because they fear him as he is the only one who can put a tear in the veil of a plain. Mason is three-quarters Demon and one-quarter Fae. Mason is a scary man.
Neeman goes to his favorite bar, Club Midnight, for a few drinks after work. Neeman notices that the female vampires are all in a large circle around all of the male vampires. Pretty soon two vampires started fighting so Neeman pushed his way through and found a woman dancing for all she's worth while the male vampires are touching her and feeling her up. Neeman broke up the fight.
When Neeman saw Selene he had an immediate attraction to her. Neeman stops Selene by grabbed her arm for which she does rebel and starts dancing again. This time Neeman picks her up and threw her over his shoulder, He continued to ask Selene where her master was. Selene said her master was Mason, you know the one who is mated to Lord Danika.
Neeman saw red but he took Selene back to the compound and placed her into a room. Then he called Mason and let him know that he had picked up a girl named Selene. Mason said he was very busy and would be by in a couple of days. Neeman wondered how Mason would explain this to Lord Danika. Mason comes to see Selene and then sets Neeman straight. Selene is his sister.
Neeman gets sent out on a mission to locate a Demon that had been spotted. Neeman and his men found the Demon in a bath filled with blood and dead female vampires loaded up in the basement. Neman takes the Demon in and before they leave he puts a collar on the Demon.
When Neeman arrives back at the compound and begins questioning him. He gets called away to the Manor house. While Neeman was gone Selene went into question the Demon and her inter Demon was quickly overtaking her Selene was losing control to Seraphina her Demon. When Seraphina took over she killed the Demon and it wasn't too long before the compound was overtaken by a group of Demons. The first demon had been one the others could trace and find the compound.
Pretty soon fighting had started layers upon layers of the compound where beginning to collapse Selene and a group of men made it down to the bottom level where the workout place was there was a secret exit and she had them exit there but before she could get away the ceiling came down one here and broke her ankle. Selene prepared to die but Neeman ran in and tried to lift the concrete. He couldn't free her he was too week.
So, so much violence and passion left out. You must pick up a copy. It's awesome.
Was given a copy for an honest review.

Selene has been sent on a mission to stop a demon invasion but there are so many vices to distract her darker nature especially Neeman, whose hard body awakens a primal desire in this pulse-pounding paranormal romance.

Neeman had no choice but to bring Selene back to his Tracking Squad’s compound before she got herself killed and he’s wondering if she could be the distraction he needs and the reader can’t help but get pulled into all the excitement and intrigue as the fireworks fly. The chemistry between Neeman and Selene sizzles with lots of passion from every page but there is Selene’s darker nature causing trouble and Selene’s and Neeman’s emotional issues hampering the relationship which causes quite a bit of chaos. These strong, captivating characters grab the reader’s attention and refuse to let go while the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.

There is lots of excitement throughout the story as demons attack, vampires wreaking havoc, the Fae manipulating things and Selene’s darker nature breaking free and cutting loose with spine tingling tension spicing things up even more as time begins running out for Selene’s part of the Fae plans. Well written scenes paint vivid images that capture the imagination and make it easy for the reader to become absorbed in the story as the intriguing events draw the reader in and guarantee that there is never a dull moment.

The dystopian, vampire ruling world is fascinating, full of intriguing characters and interesting twists that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. I was completely enthralled with Neeman and Selene’s story from the very beginning and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this pulse-pounding series.

I liked the world that was built. I also liked the idea of different planes and the battle to keep one group from infiltrating the plane of the other. I liked Selene and Seraphine, the idea of her being a mix of two species and each of those getting their own personality, name, and physical characteristics was cool. Neeman I found kind of dull. Sure he is a sexy bad ass vampire enforcer, but his brooding was annoying and his personality was kind of dull. I didn’t really get what would make these two fall in love so fast considering the lack of trust and time spent between them. I will probably read the next book in the series, but this isn’t a series I will be eagerly anticipating a new book from.

Selene/Seraphine is a half fae and half demon. Selene is sent back to the Earth realm by her mother to capture her brother’s mate and bring her back to the fae realm. They are hoping that Selene’s brother Mason will come looking for his mate Danika and when he does the fae can capture him. Mason is very strong and the fae are afraid of him.

But what Selene’s mother and the fae don’t know is that Selene has no intentions of returning to the fae realm ever. All Selene wants is to find her brother and live in the Earth realm far away from her mother and the fae, forever.

Upon her return to the Earth realm, she loses her amulet. Selene’s amulet helps her to keep her demon side in check. Her demon side can become very dangerous to others if she loses control.

Selene’s plans don’t go as planned as they are interrupted by this hot vampire dude, Neeman. Selene and Neeman do not get along at all when they first meet but the more time they spend together the hotter things become. Upon her arrival in the Earth realm, the first thing Selene does is go into a bar for a drink. This is where she meets Neeman for the first time.

Against his better judgment, Neeman decides to take Selene back to his home as that is the only way he can keep her safe from other vampires. Selene is not safe running around on the streets by herself. Vampires have taken over the human realm. Humans are now ruled over by vampires.

I sorely love this world that has been created for the vampires to live in. I love everything about it. The more I read the more I want to read. The suspense alone is enough to keep me turning the pages. Oh, and did I mention there were quite a few big twists to also keep those pages turning. The more I read the farther I was pulled into its depths as if I belonged there myself or at least a part of this world.

Rise of the Fae was so well written that I had no problem what's so ever seeing it all playing out in my head as if I was watching a movie. I can’t wait to read more in this brilliantly made world.

I highly recommend Rise of the Fae to all fans of vampires and the dystopian world. Be sure and grab your copy of Rise of the Fae today!

This second book in The Society Series by Rebekah R. Ganiere was an intense emotional thrill ride of intense passion and spirituality. Selene/Serephine is one bad ass and super sexy woman with two distinct personalities and two distinct characteristics, one good and one not so good (and the conversations between themselves are really something else), who tries to deny her feelings toward the main security guard Neeman, a vampyr which is a human turned vampire and not a true vampire. There is intense action as the world we know is invaded by vampires and demons and other unholy and unwelcome creatures in an attempt to steal Lord Danika to capture Mason and Serephene. The author once again shows what can and what might be in terms of how the world would/could look under various conditions, most of which are rather frightening to consider. This story is also about trickery, revenge, betrayal, love, and family: finding it, defining it, and accepting it. I personally can't wait to see how it all plays out in book 3 of the series. This is a voluntary review of this book.

Once again Rebekah R Ganiere has knocked it for a six with this second book in the Society Trilogy and we meet Selene and Neeman.

Selene has been kept in the ring of fea for twenty years and when she returns to the human world it is completely different it is ruled by vampyr. She has been sent to stop a demon Neeman was a forcible turned vampyr and to make matter worse he also has lost his lover to someone else. Selena's lost her talisman on her journey so is easily distracted by the vices that are prevalent in this new society, Neeman will need to rescue her before she gets herself killed. Will they be able to stop the demons from taking over and will she really kidnap her brothers partner. All will be revealed as you delve into this wonderful story. This book cannot be read as a stand alone you need to read Reign of the vampires first and there will be more to follow as the story isn't finished yet

Great continuation of The Society series. In this book we get introduce to Mason's sister Selene, who holds a similar secret that Mason did in the first book. Selene has a secret mission that could not only destroy her brother but the human world as well. If they only knew that Selene has her own as secret agenda and has no intention of carrying out this mission. She just wants to get away from her selfish mother, and find her brother Mason and gain back her freedom on the earth realm. So much going on in this book and since I don't want to give out spoilers you'll just have to check it out for yourself. What I will say is that I totally recommend this story to anyone who love mystery, action, loyalty, and of course steamy romance. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

This is the second book in The Society series, and I loved every minute of it. OK, to be honest, Selene did get to me a little bit at the beginning because she seemed so reckless. However, as the book progressed and we learned more, I came to really understand her and her motives. She developed so well as a character. Speaking of characters, I really liked Neeman in the first book, so I was glad to see him in this one. The two of them worked very well together. Added to that, the plot was riveting, and the book was action-packed. I liked the first book in the series, but this one was excellent. I even now understand the differences between, vamps, vampyrs, and Vampires. This was truly a satisfying read. Try this book; it was an excellent addition to the series, and I eagerly want to read the third and last! Highly recommend! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.

Rise of the Fae, book 2 in Rebekah Ganiere's series The Society, brings us face to face with a battle between the Fae, the demons and those they wish to hurt on the earthly plane. Serene/Seraphine finds herself conflicted about her assigned task and has no one to confide in for help. Will she do as she has been told, or will she bring the wrath of the Elder Fae down on her head. Will any of it matter if the demons destroy everything first? War is coming. Which side of the fence will she be standing on?

The storyline is fast-paced and well written filled with magic, Vampires, Vampyr, vamps, humans, demons, danger, intrigue, subterfuge, politics and romance. The characters are well developed and engaging. The inner battle between Serene and Seraphine was well executed as was her relationship with Neeman. Overall, an excellent book and a great addition to The Society series!

Exhilarating Ride

Moving onto the second book in the series and things just start getting more and more exciting. Another person comes onto the scene, but who is she and what does she want. Other than to flirt with all the males, until she finds Berman.

This book is full of exciting drama and action. Good guys and bad guys, even though we can't seem to figure out who is who. Nothing seems as it should be. We have all our old friends back to help the new evil that is coming.

This is a page turning and you don't want to put the book down because you are so exciting to find out what is happening next. You will continue to enjoy this journey, can't wait to see what happens next.

Will William find true love? That's what I want...

Until Next Time.... Tabi

Book 2 of The Society, Rise of the Fae. We continue the story meeting Selene, a Fae that is back in the Earth plane on a mission. She is badass, takes nothing from anyone, but has a secret. She meets Neeman and what a rollercoaster they go on.

This was filled with action and excitement all throughout. Rebekah has written another GREAT book that gives you an insight to a different world where things could be so different from the norm we know.

I can relate to Selene, sometimes we all have that inner 'demon' that makes life hard sometimes. But she knows us also, you can be one with if you just put the effect in.

It's a must read for anyone that loves vampires, demons, fae, and the otherworldly creatures.

Selene is really badass heroine. She was kept in Reign of Fae for twenty years and when she return into human world, she is confronted with brand new reality. The earth is ruled by vampire society and the technology is miles away from which she once knew. Neeman is vampyr who was turned into vampyr against his will. And his former love is mated to someone else whom she dearly loves. He should kept an eye on wild Selene, and she turnes his world upside down. It´s really great lovestory and also story about accepted all elements of yourself and learn to live with them.

I am really getting into the Society storyline! I kinda felt sorry for Neeman, but at the same time I admire that while he doesn't like what he is he makes the best of it. Not to mention the fact that he recently lost a romantic interest and still has to see her regularly, but then also ends up having to look after Selene without knowing what he's committing to!.... >.< lol. Selene is quite the character... She is loyal and is trying to do the best she can in a difficult situation. Overall, was a wonderful read!

This story is beyond enthralling. I did not want to stop reading. Selene is the ultimate bad girl but she is part demon and has some wicked magic. But there is so much more to her. You see so many sides of her and realize you wish she was your BFF. Neeman makes you want to just smack him in the back of the head sometimes and then beg for his affection the next. I mean damn is he the tall brooding type. The story has so many amazingly written characters both good, bad and sometimes undetermined. You get fight scenes as well as get to watch Selene drive Neeman completely crazy.

Since I loved the first book. I knew I was in for a treat with the second book. As excepted I was not disappointed. While continuing on with the first story but focusing on new characters Neeman and Selene. It didn't confuse of have you feeling tagged between both stories. They flowed together with ease. I can't wait for the 3 book to see how things wrap up. Just sad that it will be the end of the series.

Love Selene's story. Selene is fighting with her inner demon throughout the story and needs to learn how to become one with her. Selene and Neeman's bond grows throughout and they both learn to trust each other. But there's still conflict going on in the community and they all need to figure out how to gain back control. Definitely a great read and cant wait for the next book to see what happens!!

This time focusing on Neeman from the first book and the amazingly written character of Selene aka Seraphine. She is half-fae and half-demon and was sent on a mission by her mother and one of the high elder fae's. The story of the hot and cold between the two and the new items coning to like about previous characters like Chase and Garon and the allies they made made for an interesting end to this tale opening up for the next story.

This book is awesome! Love the second installment of The Society!! I can't say enough positive about it. I love this version of a vampire world. It's different and it's really intriguing. In this book, there's still plenty of Mason and Danika, but it concentrates on a new character, Selene, and Danika's previous lover, Neeman. Lots of fun to be had! I can't wait to read the next one! Very highly recommended!!

Love the Characters

Rise of the Fae is book 2 of Rebekah R. Ganiere's The Society series. The characters in this series are wonderful. You'll find yourself pulling for creatures you never that of as good. There are still quite a lot of editing issues throughout this book as the with in book 1. The editing is why I can't give it 5 stars. The story will keep you invested and wanting the next book.

A truly captivating continuation of the Society series. This book is jam-packed with action and romance and it begs not to be put down. Rebekah's books just keep getting more awesome as you read. Neeman's and Selene's/Seraphine's story is filled with so many twists and turns that I was even afraid for them at a point... And the way it concluded? You have to see for yourself. With the both fae and demon trying to catch them, what will be the fate of the world? Cant wait to read book 3

This incredible world of The Society is working hard to rebuild what a virus destroyed. I love how roles are flip flopped between species, vampires are trying to be good guys for the remaining humans, but there are always a troublemaker or two. Neeman and Selene's story is intriguing.
