ARC Review…..
This is a gripping dark romance that pulls you into a world of power, obsession, and emotional vulnerability from the very first page. The story centers on Zephyr “Kade” Myles, a powerful and calculating tech empire ruler whose life is built on control, secrecy, and isolation. Everything changes when Ysis “Ice” Bautista enters his world as an assistant who refuses to be intimidated by his dominance.
What makes this story so compelling is the dynamic between Kade and Ice. Kade is intense, enigmatic, and deeply flawed, while Ice brings a quiet resilience and emotional depth that challenges his rigid control. Their chemistry is electric filled with tension, defiance, and an undeniable pull that keeps the pages turning.
My girl does an excellent job building a slow burn romance layered with secrets, psychological tension, and emotional stakes. The push-and-pull between control and vulnerability feels authentic, and both characters are complex enough to keep readers invested in their journey.
The atmosphere of surveillance, manipulation, and buried pasts adds a darker edge to the romance, making the story feel more like a battle of wills than a typical love story. Watching Kade’s carefully constructed world begin to crack because of Ice’s quiet strength is incredibly satisfying.

Okay listen… Cage Me In is one of them books where you gotta pause... put the phone down, stare at the wall, then keep readin’ cause WHAT just happened? 😆
Kade Miles is a menace. Fine. Billionaire. Controlling. Possessive. Daddy issues stacked on top of daddy issues. And the crazy part? He KNO he toxic. That man is a walking red flag with money and intelligence, and somehow you still sittin’ there like… “Yeah, he can get it.” 🤣
Now Ysis “Ice” Bautista... she DONT play. At all. She give Kade hell every chance she get... She’s sassy, guarded, traumatized, and gotta mouth piece that make a man who’s used to control absolutely lose his damn mind.
Their chemistry is intoxicating... Like suffocating, can’t-breathe, can’t-look-away either type energy. The intimacy is wild... It’s obsession, power, and trauma bonding. Two broken people crashing into each other with zero chill.
But let’s talk about the PLOT because Ms JAS 'A was not playin’. Plot twists was twistin’. Secrets on secrets. Family drama. Control issues passed down. Every time you think you gotta handle on what’s really goin’ on, BOOM… another layer. Betrayal everywhere. Nobody safe 😩
What I loved most is that this story got depth. This ain’t just “toxic dark romance because vibes.” These characters are damaged for real. Generational wounds. Abandonment. Trust issues. Control. Fear of love. Fear of losing love. All of it wrapped up in a story that keeps pullin’ you back in.
And can we give credit where it’s due? Cause she did her BIG one. Her pen is dangerous in the best way. She knows how to write tension, emotion, chaos, and connection without spoon-feeding you anything.
This is book one of a series and I’m locked in. Cause if this just the beginning? I already kno the next ones bout to have me stressed, emotional, and obsessed.
If you like dark romance that’s toxic, funny, intense, emotional, and WELL-WRITTEN… put this on your TBR when it drops... Period!!!

Kade Myles is complicated. Some may characterize him as psychotic. I would argue that that description is far too simplistic. While he is successful, his success is a result of his own insistence. Despite the dysfunction of his family, he has accomplished greatness. The moment he meets Ysis he can’t ignore the instant pull she has on him, without even trying.
Love is the name of the diversion in both of their lives. They have to accept parts of the other that isn’t easy to understand. Emotions and familial ties stand in the way, but it never distracts from what can’t be denied.

Lawwwdddd, my sis love to stress me!!! This the kind of dark romance that grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go (and the other side of me love that ish 🤭 ). From the very first page, the tension between Kade and Ice burns slow, dangerous, and completely addictive. Kade’s cold, controlling empire colliding with Ice’s quiet strength creates the perfect storm of obsession, vulnerability, and explosive chemistry.
The writing pulls you deep into a world filled with power plays, secrets, emotional scars, and raw passion. Every interaction crackles with intensity, and the emotional depth behind both characters makes the story hit even harder. Ice isn’t just a love interest, she’s resilient, fearless, and impossible not to root for. And that damn Kade!!!! A beautifully broken antihero you’ll love despite yourself.

This story had so many twist and turns I could not strap my seatbelt tight enough. Just when you think you know what’s happening boom another twist. Talking about keeping you on your toes this story does that and more. Do yourself a favor and read this book! I can’t wait for part 2!!!
