I loved this story. We get to meet up with many of our previous shifter couples. Cy and Layla are quite the pair.

I really enjoyed the fast pace of this book. Plenty of action kept me up all night to the end. A bit more background info on Cy and what made him hate shifters so much would have made the book 5-star material for me. I love Lila’s determination and strong will. Some disliked her rash decision making, but I felt it gave her character more realism. She has been sheltered by her overprotective family so has not had the opportunity to experience a lot of danger where she could learn to make better decisions. Plus her world has been turned upside down with suddenly meeting her mate. There’s a lot going on for her to process. She does think about it all as the other events are unfolding. So it wasn’t like she just saw him and said mine and the deed was done. To each their own I suppose. I liked the story a lot.
As for the complaints that they don’t spend time courting and romancing before mating, it is a book about shifters, not run of the mill humans. Of course they are going to be led around by their animal instincts. I never have understood that complaint in reviews of PNR. How is it one can suspend reality enough to accept people shifting into animals, yet cannot accept instantly being drawn to a mate? Animals don’t spend weeks courting before having sex In the real world. Makes sense to me then that shifters don’t need much time to claim their forever mates.
I love most of what I read by Elle Thorne. Her style is quick paced and fun for me when I want a quick read with all the fun stuff tossed into a story that leaves a smile on my face at the end. Looking forward to the next one.

Cy and Lila are the first two shifters to mate in this series. I don't know if I missed it or if it isn't there, but I don't remember reading either marking the other as the bear shifters all did...?

He has no tribe, no official allegiance. to anyone aside from his sister, Petra. Petra is missing, last heard from when she was in Dallas, Texas on a trip far from their home in Houston, Texas. Cy trusts no shifter, knowing his family history it’s understandable why that is. He is crossing into Tiero tribe territory in his search for Petra, but nothing, not tribe, territory nor other shifters will prevent him from finding his sister.
Vax and Callie are on a trip to New Orleans to visit with Lezare of the Arceneaux branch of the family. Some might call it a honeymoon as Callie and Vax are newly nated. While the Alpha of the Tiero tribe is out of town, the running of After Dark and all the other matters of the territory are being handled by Vax’s sisters… and his security force. Lila has been informed of a strange shifter in the area, under lock and key. Knowing Gavin, Vax’s head of security and Lila’s former boyfriend, the stranger would be trussed up and bloody by now. Men! So she took it upon herself to find out exactly what was going on. She never expected her tigress to sit up and take notice of the man in the cage. Their mate.

Love shifters? Then you need to be reading the Always After Dark shifter series. I would not hesitate for one second in recommending these stories to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance , with a steamy sexy story and totally Alpha shifters.

Shifter Cy's sister is missing. His sister Petra was kidnapped for underground fighting. He crosses into Tiero Territory to look for her and gets caught. One of his captors is a beautiful curvy tigress named Lila. She's the enemy but she's also his mate.
I loved the characters that Ms. Thorne comes up with for her books. They are always fully thought out and multidimensional. Even the bit players or secondary characters are fleshed out to the point that you really get a feel for who they are and what their purpose is in the story. I like that about her books. I like characters that aren't all black and white. That's the bad guy, this is the good guy doesn't work with me. People are shades of gray. A little bit of this and maybe a lot of that thrown in.
I also thoroughly enjoy how she builds her stories up. She starts out strong and stays that way. Her worlds she creates are powerful, exciting and take you on a ride that you never want to get off of.
I believe you will love these books and highly recommend you giving them a try.

Book 2 of the tiger series is just as good as the first. Again Ms. Thorne has pulled us into the Tiero tiger clan and focused on Vax's sister Lila. Lila is a strong ,snarky female who is tired of being told what to do. She does not need a babysitter or to be protected like a child and its high time the male populations sees her as the capable women she is. Cyric has not declared himself in shifter territory so he will be seen as a threat. He needs to find his sister and not even the Hot as heck snarky female tiger , her jealous ex boyfriend or his own tiger is going to stop him . I just love to watch characters grow and become something to be reckoned with. Lila is awesome and if you have ever had siblings you will be able to relate to her wish to prove herself. Cyric is tall ,dark and dangerous with the need to protect those he cares about even if it puts him in the proverbial dog house. This is fast paced, easy to read and quite enjoyable. I love strong women and the men who are lucky enough to earn their love always provide great stories. A must have in every shifter lovers library.

I really really loved this 2nd book! Lila is really head strong...errr...stubborn! She's kinda tired of being doubted she can take care of herself by Gavin and her brother and others. So its no wonder she is a bit stubborn and acts a little crazy at half baked ideas. LOL. I liked her a lot. Gavin we briefly saw in book 1 is an ex boyfriend of Lila's and still loves her. I believe he was too protective and tried to hold her back sort of by "protecting" her and not doing things for herself. Not only that he loves her and I dont think she felt the same affection. They weren't mates and she ended it hurting him. He still has issues with that and it comes out when we meet Cy. Cy is a really good guy whose searching for his sister Petra who was kidnapped for underground fighting. He just went about it a bit wrong and got caught. Met Lila...his mate. Chemistry was really hot between these 2. We see some more characters in this book and returning ones. Some wolves. So, I liked the story better because there was more to it and more things are explained. So, book 3 should be really interesting.

Read in the Always After Dark boxed set...
I bought the boxed set, which is the only reason I'm still reading this series... that and a morbid sense of curiosity to know if the series/writing gets any better. While this one was better than the first (the MCs actually have a conversation before mating), it still falls short. Cy was okay, although there is no explanation for him hating his own kind. Lila was the very definition of too stupid to live. She makes the stupidest decisions and the author is kind enough to have help always arrive just in time. It's interesting how she gets pissed when people treat her like "a princess who needs to be locked away in a tower", but then she runs out and proves why she needs protection. What a joke. There was next to no love or romance, with the MCs being driven by hormones and their animals.

When a Brother has Sisters
Alright then time for turn around for the female shifters. Their as sexy as the Alpha males with a few more curves. Way to go Lila big brother's not the only one who gets things done. When Lila saw the intruder she was lost. Great just when she gets to help her mate wants to protect her from the trouble when will they learn We have to do what you got to do when you decide to do it. Looking forward to how this future family grows within the new shifter alliances.

Enjoyable read
I really like this book I really love Lila fiery personality and the fact that she didn't want to be treated as a pampered princess she wanted to prove that she could take care of yourself. I would've like a little bit more backstory on her and Gavin relationship all we know is that she broke up with him but overall a good read.

Wow!
Lila is a strong willed tiger. She likes no man telling her what to do but then she meets Cy. Cy's in Dallas cause his sister is missing. They team to try to find her but may also find love. They find out his is in more trouble than they may be able to handle. Ms Thorne is an awesome author that you just can't pass up
