Wow, what a journey this book takes you on. The premise sounded so unique, so I was excited to give this a read.
Augustine is a college student who suddenly is able to see her Silver Thread... that connects to her A’aruin, her guardian spirit, or angel, Alderian. As their laws dictate they are to never actually interact and are doomed to forget their lives, this is quite the anomaly. Alderian fears if the High Counsel finds out, they can be erased from existence.
Their journey reveals hidden truths, powerful emotions, and perhaps a promise of a future as well as revealing the past. I really adored this book. Sometimes my brain will read with a recently listened-to audiobook narrator’s voice in my head, which worked perfectly with the dialogue here.
Augustine seems like an innocent girl, navigating college, friends, and her dating life. Then suddenly when she can see Alderian and talk to him, her life is forever changed. Her trajectory is something I could have never predicted, and about the halfway mark, I was completely engrossed in the story.
The world-building was immaculate — the idea of hidden pasts and futures and living in a world that’s lost its color and memories, it’s so captivating. And I love how both Alderian and Augustine, against all odds and better judgement, take steps to find themselves and each other.
The romance is beautiful, the story captivating, the setup for the next book — exciting!! I really enjoyed this debut novel and will absolutely read the next book! I cannot wait to see what happens next.

¿Qué tiene de bueno tener a dos espíritus unidos para nunca poder hablar entre sí ni reconocerse mutuamente?¿Por qué estaba prohibido todo contacto de forma tan amenazante?
¿Por qué los humanos habían sido capaces de representar ángeles en tantas obras de la antigüedad, incluso mencionarlos en textos religiosos, si el contacto con ellos se suponía imposible?
¿Respondía todo a un simple producto de la imaginación humana? ¿O había existido algún tiempo en que ese contacto sí fue real?Morir y encarnar siempre parecía un baile infinito, en el que solo uno de ellos estaba en la pista. Nunca los dos bailando, nunca los dos sentados, descansando.

❤️ World Building: The world building was well done, though maybe a little drawn out in the beginning. The “magic” system was VERY original as well. Once the book got going though, the world building was helpful.
❤️ The Characters: I loved Augustine and Alderian and their story that spans centuries of their love story, but up until recently they have been doomed to forget. They were strong main characters. But it is Elarión that has me intrigued and his story arc is the one I’m most curious about!
❤️ The Story: The story starts very slow, but after the first half of the book it really picks up and engages you. Since this is going to be a series and now that the story has started to be engaging, I feel like this is going to end up to be an amazing series!
❤️🔥Overall: While the story starts out slow, I really feel like this is going to be a fantastic series and I’m really looking forward to the next book.

They are the most common and most recognized class of angel and serve under and alongside the archangels as the chief medium between the earth and the heavens. They are human in appearance and have two wings. Guardian angels lose their immortality and invulnerability while in human form. ⏾ The world building in The Silver Thread really shines. The magic and mystery are intriguing and pulls you along on this journey. The idea of guardian angels is one we are all familiar with, but I enjoyed Ema’s spin on it. The world is full of intrigue, twists and turns, which was a fun surprise.
⏾ I’m a sucker for a forbidden love story. The pain of two people being forced to orbit each other for lifetimes, never allowing them to meet, is a prominent theme.
“They were like the sun and the moon: they would never shine together under the same sky.”
⏾ Augustine and Alderian are two sides of the same coin. Their souls deeply connected in a way that transcends time itself. The powers that be have decided they are to protect and guard one another for the rest of time, but they may never know of each other’s existence. It doesn’t get more tragic than that. The Silver Thread is a love story that tugs on your heartstrings.
⏾ I personally struggled with the pacing and the dialogue. The dialogue was very direct, which isn’t always a bad thing, but it left no room for moments to grow or feelings to develop in the silence. The pacing was fast one moment and slow the next, it felt a bit disjointed to me and took me out of the story. However, this is my personal opinion, what might not work for me, may work for you!
⏾ If you enjoy urban fantasy with deep overarching plots, you’ll enjoy this. It was a sweet romance, with some yearning that outlasts time itself. Thank you again Ema for the ARC ✨

When I first started this book, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. I was nervous because I really thought I was going to be giving this book a bad review at the beginning. Don’t get me wrong, just hearing the synopsis of the plot had me intrigued- the originality of the story, the forbidden love aspect- but the writing felt choppy and I struggled to get lost in this new world Ema V. Arden created. I kept going though, and I am so, SO thankful I did.
What an incredible idea for a story! The more I read, the more I became intrigued in Augustine and Alderian’s forbidden romance. This pull they had to each other seemed to defy all logic in both of their worlds, and as they discover the truths of their lives, I couldn’t read fast enough! Forbidden love is one of my favorite tropes to read, and this love story is unlike anything I’ve ever read before.
While there were times I had to reread paragraphs to make sure I was understanding, the writing was choppy and to the point, and the beginning confused me a little as it jumped around in the world building, it gets much smoother as the story continues.
This is Ema V. Arden’s debut novel. I have no doubt she will continue to be an author I watch! I hope you give The Silver Thread the chance to consume you for a few hours like it did me. Read it, and then come back to talk with me about that shocking ending we’re left with until book 2 releases!

I really loved the concept of this book — the idea of guardian angels and two main characters destined to never meet was so intriguing.
The world building was beautifully done, especially the way the guardian angels exist on another plane. It was described really vividly and added so much atmosphere to the story.
The pacing was very fast, maybe a little too fast in places, which did leave some parts feeling slightly confusing or underdeveloped at times.
Overall, I enjoyed this read and I’d definitely be interested in continuing with the series and seeing where the story goes next.

La manera en que este libro me tenía gritando, llena de emociones, felicidad, enojo, nervios ... Fue muy fácil de leer y entender. Te encariñas de los personajes, al igual que llegas a odiar a otros, pero pasaban tantas cosas que me tenían con la mente explotada 🤯 Simplemente me encantó, disfruten el 15 de junio porque yo en estos momentos lo disfruté demasiado!

The Silver Thread completely pulled me in with its simple yet incredibly effective writing style. Instead of getting lost in overly complicated fantasy worldbuilding, the story focuses on what truly matters: the characters, their emotions, and the hauntingly beautiful connections between them. Reincarnation, angels, humanity, love, yearning, and deception all weave together into a story layered with suspense where no one is truly who, or what, they seem. Every reveal left me questioning everything, and the cliffhanger ending left me eager for more. I need the next book immediately.

He tenido la fortuna de leer esta historia antes de su lanzamiento. Pero más que agradecer la oportunidad de leerla antes, agradezco el haberme topado con un romantasy completo en todos los sentidos.
Definitivamente la autora sabe qué hilos mover para generar en el lector la necesidad de seguir leyendo la historia de Augustine y Alderian.
Para ser honesta, cuando empecé no tenía ninguna expectativa, puesto que es la primera obra que leo de esta autora y que previamente mis experiencias con el género no estaban rindiendo frutos. Pero El Hilo de Plata me sorprendió gratamente.

Narrativa lineal con algunas escenas que presentan saltos en el tiempo como contexto de escenas posteriores o para sembrar intriga en el lector, acompañada de capítulos cortos que permiten un avance rápido y orgánico.
Prosa: inmersiva y funcional, con escenas visuales y movimiento constante acompañado de descripciones concretas.
Ritmo: ágil y sostenido.

Augustine pasa por un arco transformacional completo, el cual nos revela una identidad base o alterna a la que se nos presenta al principio del libro, mientras que Alderian pasa por un arco positivo que pone de manifiesto su verdadera fuerza como personaje.
En esta historia considero que conocemos a los protagonistas a través de la capa exterior, pero conforme avance la historia y por ende el resto de la serie o saga, iremos conociendo la complejidad de sus capas internas.

Romántica y argumental.
La novela cumple con los elementos esenciales del género y los utiliza de forma efectiva para construir una experiencia memorable, pero sobre todo para permanecer en la memoria de los fanáticos del romance.
Y progresivamente la autora va soltando pistas acorde al avance de la novela que hacen que nos preguntemos qué sucederá después. Intriga aplicada eficazmente.

El Hilo de Plata se ha convertido en una de mis lecturas favoritas de este año. Y lo digo sin ninguna pizca de duda.
Me sorprendo de estar escribiendo estas líneas, pero la sorpresa ha sido positiva.
Algo que me parece un acierto digno de aplaudirle a la autora es que desde el capítulo 1:
• Supo atraer la atención del lector.
• Sembró la intriga suficiente para seguir leyendo.
• Puso sobre la mesa la dinámica del romance entre los protagonistas.
• No perdió el tiempo en descripciones innecesarias.
• Dejó clarísimo el contexto del mundo fantástico de manera que no necesité varios capítulos —o incluso todo el libro— para comprender el concepto. Y esto, en fantasía, es sumamente difícil.
A eso le agregamos que la estructura narrativa ayudó muchísimo porque le permite al lector la sensación de avance constante sin sensación de estancamiento.
Su prosa es funcional y dinámica, centrándose en los hechos sin sacrificar la complejidad del mundo fantástico.
El eje romántico estuvo bien cuidado y equilibrado con la construcción del mundo de los A'aruins. Me pareció muy interesante e innovadora su propuesta con el sistema de hilos, la soberanía de los Guardianes y su papel en A'aru, elementos que traen de la mano un conflicto político muy digerible para el lector.
Casi al tercer tercio de la historia, la tensión iba ascendiendo progresivamente con uno que otro huevo de pascua que más adelante terminaban siendo revelaciones de alto impacto.

Pero Alderian empieza a tener sentimientos por su protegida que van más allá de su comprensión. Sentimientos llenos de anhelo y devoción.
Augustine y todos los seres humanos no están conscientes de la presencia de los A'aruins. O bueno, hasta que un día Augustine puede ver a Alderian —lo que se considera una anomalía grave— y enciende en Alderian, más que una alerta, una esperanza: la de no volver a ser parte del olvido de Augustine, aunque no tenga certeza de adónde los llevará ese deseo.

He tenido la fortuna de leer esta historia antes de su lanzamiento. Pero más que agradecer la oportunidad de leerla antes, agradezco el haberme topado con un romantasy completo en todos los sentidos.
Definitivamente la autora sabe qué hilos mover para generar en el lector la necesidad de seguir leyendo la historia de Augustine y Alderian.
Para ser honesta, cuando empecé no tenía ninguna expectativa, puesto que es la primera obra que leo de esta autora y que previamente mis experiencias con el género no estaban rindiendo frutos. Pero El Hilo de Plata me sorprendió gratamente.

El Hilo de Plata se ha convertido en una de mis lecturas favoritas de este año. Y lo digo sin ninguna pizca de duda.
Me sorprendo de estar escribiendo estas líneas, pero la sorpresa ha sido positiva.
Algo que me parece un acierto digno de aplaudirle a la autora es que desde el capítulo 1:
• Supo atraer la atención del lector.
• Sembró la intriga suficiente para seguir leyendo.
• Puso sobre la mesa la dinámica del romance entre los protagonistas.
• No perdió el tiempo en descripciones innecesarias.
• Dejó clarísimo el contexto del mundo fantástico de manera que no necesité varios capítulos —o incluso todo el libro— para comprender el concepto. Y esto, en fantasía, es sumamente difícil.
A eso le agregamos que la estructura narrativa ayudó muchísimo porque le permite al lector la sensación de avance constante sin sensación de estancamiento.
Su prosa es funcional y dinámica, centrándose en los hechos sin sacrificar la complejidad del mundo fantástico.
El eje romántico estuvo bien cuidado y equilibrado con la construcción del mundo de los A'aruins. Me pareció muy interesante e innovadora su propuesta con el sistema de hilos, la soberanía de los Guardianes y su papel en A'aru, elementos que traen de la mano un conflicto político muy digerible para el lector.
Casi al tercer tercio de la historia, la tensión iba ascendiendo progresivamente con uno que otro huevo de pascua que más adelante terminaban siendo revelaciones de alto impacto.

Antes de empezar esta reseña, quiero agradecer a la autora el envío del eARC para poder leer la novela antes de su publicación. Dicho esto, El Hilo de Plata ha sido una de esas lecturas que consiguen llamar tu atención desde la propia premisa. Y no es algo tan habitual como parece.
Nunca había leído una historia centrada en la relación entre un ángel guardián y la humana a la que ha protegido durante vidas enteras. Estamos acostumbrados a encontrar vampiros, hadas, dragones o demonios en la fantasía romántica, pero la idea de los hilos de plata y de estos guardianes vinculados a una misma alma a través de distintas existencias me pareció original y muy atractiva desde el primer momento.
La relación entre Alderian y Augustine es, sin duda, el corazón de la novela. Lo que más me gustó de ella es precisamente aquello que la hace imposible: nunca han existido realmente en el mismo plano. Durante incontables vidas han estado conectados y separados al mismo tiempo, condenados a recordarse y olvidarse una y otra vez. Esa distancia constante genera una tensión emocional muy interesante y aporta un componente melancólico que atraviesa toda la historia.
A medida que Augustine comienza a percibir aquello que antes estaba oculto, la dinámica entre ambos cambia por completo. Y aunque la novela tiene romance, lo que más me atrapó fue precisamente esa sensación de destino compartido, de dos almas que llevan siglos orbitándose sin llegar a encontrarse del todo.
También me gustó mucho el sistema de "magia". Es relativamente sencillo de entender, algo que agradezco enormemente cuando una historia tiene una mitología propia. La autora no intenta abrumar al lector con largas explicaciones ni reglas interminables. Todo resulta accesible y, al mismo tiempo, deja suficientes preguntas abiertas como para querer seguir explorando el mundo en una futura entrega.
Además, la lectura es muy fluida. En ningún momento tuve la sensación de que la historia se estancara o de que las escenas perdieran fuerza. Siempre había algo empujando la trama hacia delante, y cuando llegué al final entendí perfectamente por qué hay una segunda parte. Porque sí: ese cliffhanger está planteado de manera fenomenal.
Ahora bien, también hubo algunos aspectos que me impidieron conectar por completo con la novela.
El principal tiene que ver con los diálogos. En determinados momentos sentí que algunas conversaciones tenían un tono más juvenil que el resto de la obra. Y no porque los personajes sean adolescentes, sino porque la historia maneja conceptos tan grandes —memoria, destino, amor eterno, rebelión espiritual— que a veces esperaba una carga emocional o una madurez mayor en ciertas interacciones. Había escenas donde la atmósfera era casi épica, y otras donde parecía que los personajes habían vuelto al instituto con problemas mucho más cotidianos.
También me quedé con ganas de conocer mejor el escenario donde transcurre la historia. Esto probablemente sea una manía personal, porque siempre he defendido que el setting puede convertirse en un personaje más dentro de una novela. Aquí la ciudad funciona como telón de fondo, pero apenas llegamos a conocerla. Me faltaron detalles que la hicieran única y reconocible, algo que me permitiera sentir que esta historia solo podía suceder en ese lugar concreto.
Respecto al romance, me gustó especialmente que las escenas íntimas estén al servicio de la historia y no al revés. Son pocas, están bien integradas en la trama y tienen un propósito emocional claro. Nunca sentí que estuvieran ahí únicamente para aumentar el nivel de spice, algo que agradezco muchísimo.
En conjunto, El Hilo de Plata me ha parecido una propuesta fresca dentro del fantasy romance actual. Tiene una premisa original, una relación central muy emotiva y suficiente misterio como para dejarte pensando en lo que vendrá después.
Una lectura que recomendaría sin dudar a quienes disfruten de romances imposibles, conexiones espirituales y fantasías donde el peso de los sentimientos es tan importante como el de la trama.
Y, sobre todo, es una historia que ha conseguido algo muy valioso: hacer que quiera leer la segunda parte nada más terminar la primera. Tendremos que esperar.

Words cannot begin to describe the amazing journey this book took me through. If you’re looking for a romantasy that is full of mystery and intrigue, with a morally grey FMC, and love that transcends time, this book is for you!
The Silver Thread puts a twist on the concept of the red strings of fate x guardian angels. It gives me S line x Platinum End vibes. In this world each human is protected and tethered to an A’aruin (guardian angel) by a silver thread. The A’aruin protects their human and when the human dies, they switch places and protect each other for all of eternity. Once they reincarnate as an A’aruin, they forget all their memories from their human lives. They are the two sides of the same coin, the sun and the moon, two beings that are the most closely linked yet can never be with each other. I found this concept to be so devastating: the idea that your “soul mate” is right there, but you don’t exist in the same realm, and never will.
We follow Augustine, a human, and her journey as she suddenly is able to see and speak with her A’aruin, Alderian. They feel the undeniable bond between them and fall in love, even though it goes against every law of A’aru. We also see the bond between other humans and their A’aruin: ranging from romantic tension, to casual indifference.
What I loved most about this book is how much mystery and intrigue there is. I am so intrigued by A’aru and the history behind it. It’s so shrouded in mystery throughout the book. We see it as a world that’s constantly bathed in moonlight, leaving the world colourless, a place where love isn’t allowed. But we get glimpses of a time BEFORE all of this. That makes you wonder, was their colour in A’aru before? Were A’aruin allowed to love? What drove them to become what they are now? And why are there so many empty seats in the High Council?
Alderian was such a great MMC. He’s completely devoted to Augustine, wanting the best for her and willing to sacrifice himself for her. He’s the voice of reason whenever things get confusing and overwhelming, a reassuring presence that keeps Augustine grounded. He is the literal definition of the “touch her and die” trope. It was heart wrenching to see his pain of loving he can never have.
Augustine was such an inspiring FMC. She is persistent, hard working, and will do anything to stay with Alderian. She’s not afraid to speak her mind and she’s also very “touch him and die” coded. I absolutely loved how level-headed of a character she is as well. She doesn’t get in her head when things get stressful and just does what she can (my overthinking self is very envious of her).
This is my first time reading a book about reincarnation and love that transcends through every life. I need more of this trope because I have never met a more devoted couple than these two. I am so excited for book 2 that’s coming out in December!!

The Silver Thread has one of the most intriguing premises I’ve come across in romantasy recently. The idea of guardian spirits bound to humans by luminous Silver Threads, destined to remain connected yet forbidden from truly being together, immediately captured my attention. It’s a beautifully romantic concept with plenty of emotional and imaginative potential.
I particularly enjoyed the world-building surrounding the A’aruin and the mythology of the Silver Threads. There were moments where the story felt wonderfully atmospheric, and I found myself eager to learn more about the rules governing this world and the forces working against Augustine and Alderian.
I found myself invested in both Augustine and Alderian, and I appreciated the central romance and the sense of destiny woven throughout the narrative. The story also introduces some fascinating ideas surrounding memory, fate, and free will that kept me turning the pages to discover where everything was leading.
My main struggle was with the pacing. At times the story moved so quickly that I found myself wondering whether I had missed something, as major developments, revelations, and emotional shifts seemed to arrive in rapid succession. I often wanted key moments to have a little more space on the page so that the characters, relationships, and world could be explored in greater depth.
I also found some of the dialogue a little too direct for my personal taste, with characters frequently expressing exactly what they were feeling rather than allowing those emotions to unfold more naturally. Given the dreamlike and romantic nature of the premise, I would have loved a little more subtlety and space for those moments to breathe, as I think it would have strengthened the emotional impact even further.
Similarly, there were times when I felt I was only scratching the surface of the world and its mythology. The foundations are compelling, but I found myself craving additional detail and development to fully immerse myself in the story and connect more deeply with the characters’ journeys.
That said, the uniqueness of the concept kept me invested throughout, and by the final portion of the novel I was thoroughly curious to see where the story would go next. While this wasn’t a perfect fit for my personal reading tastes, I can absolutely see the potential in the series and would be interested in continuing with Book Two.
A thoughtful and imaginative romantasy with a compelling central concept, The Silver Thread offers plenty of promise and leaves the door open for the series to grow even stronger in future installments.

El hilo de plata me llamó la atención por su preciosa premisa: todos los seres humanos están conectados a su ángel de la guarda por un hilo de plata.
Es una historia sobre amor prohibido, reencarnación, destino y el anhelo de alguien que siempre está cerca, pero a quien nunca puedes alcanzar del todo. Y sí, admito que toda esa idea me encantó. 🫶🏾
Lo que más disfruté fue precisamente el concepto. La idea de los ángeles guardianes, las almas conectadas y los destinos entrelazados a través del tiempo me pareció tierna y diferente a cualquier otra romantasy que haya leído recientemente.
Personalmente, nunca terminé de sentirme completamente inmersa en la historia. Tanto las emociones como el mundo y la mitología tenían mucho potencial, pero constantemente me quedé con ganas de profundizar más en ellos. Me habría gustado que el lore tuviera una presencia más marcada a lo largo de la narración y que algunos aspectos del mundo se desarrollaran con mayor detalle, ya que a veces sentía que muchas cosas no tenían sentido del todo.
También me costó conectar con el estilo de escritura en español. Hubo momentos en los que sentí que la narración priorizaba explicar lo que estaba ocurriendo o lo que sentían los personajes, en lugar de dejar que el lector lo descubriera y lo experimentara por sí mismo. Esto hizo que, por momentos, la lectura me resultara menos fluida y un poco distante emocionalmente.
Además, encontré ciertas decisiones narrativas un poco extrañas, como referirse al protagonista como “el joven” incluso en etapas muy avanzadas de la historia, cuando el lector ya conoce perfectamente a Alderian. Son detalles pequeños, pero para mí afectaron la fluidez de la lectura y dificultaron mi inmersión en la historia.
Aun así, creo que la premisa es preciosa y muy original. Mi dificultad estuvo principalmente en la ejecución y en un estilo narrativo que no terminó de encajar con mis preferencias como lectora.
Curiosamente, tuve la oportunidad de leer algunos fragmentos en inglés y sentí que la prosa fluía mucho mejor en ese idioma, por lo que probablemente recomendaría esa versión a quienes puedan leerla.
Aun así, terminé el libro con curiosidad por saber hacia dónde llevará la autora esta historia.
Muchas gracias a Ema V. Arden por enviarme un ARC de este libro. Tengo la sensación de que esta serie tiene mucho potencial y me intriga ver cómo evolucionará en el segundo libro.
Es una historia sobre amor prohibido, reencarnación, destino y el anhelo de alguien que siempre está cerca, pero a quien nunca puedes alcanzar del todo. Y sí, admito que toda esa idea me encantó. 🫶🏾
Lo que más disfruté fue precisamente el concepto. La idea de los ángeles guardianes, las almas conectadas y los destinos entrelazados a través del tiempo me pareció tierna y diferente a cualquier otra romantasy que haya leído recientemente.
Personalmente, nunca terminé de sentirme completamente inmersa en la historia. Tanto las emociones como el mundo y la mitología tenían mucho potencial, pero constantemente me quedé con ganas de profundizar más en ellos. Me habría gustado que el lore tuviera una presencia más marcada a lo largo de la narración y que algunos aspectos del mundo se desarrollaran con mayor detalle, ya que a veces sentía que muchas cosas no tenían sentido del todo.
También me costó conectar con el estilo de escritura en español. Hubo momentos en los que sentí que la narración priorizaba explicar lo que estaba ocurriendo o lo que sentían los personajes, en lugar de dejar que el lector lo descubriera y lo experimentara por sí mismo. Esto hizo que, por momentos, la lectura me resultara menos fluida y un poco distante emocionalmente.
Además, encontré ciertas decisiones narrativas un poco extrañas, como referirse al protagonista como “el joven” incluso en etapas muy avanzadas de la historia, cuando el lector ya conoce perfectamente a Alderian. Son detalles pequeños, pero para mí afectaron la fluidez de la lectura y dificultaron mi inmersión en la historia.
Aun así, creo que la premisa es preciosa y muy original. Mi dificultad estuvo principalmente en la ejecución y en un estilo narrativo que no terminó de encajar con mis preferencias como lectora.
Curiosamente, tuve la oportunidad de leer algunos fragmentos en inglés y sentí que la prosa fluía mucho mejor en ese idioma, por lo que probablemente recomendaría esa versión a quienes puedan leerla.
Aun así, terminé el libro con curiosidad por saber hacia dónde llevará la autora esta historia.

I went into this book genuinely excited because the premise got me immediately and I'm happy to say it delivered on most of what it promised.
What makes The Silver Thread stand out is how it weaves real-world history into its fantasy framework. It's not something you see often, and it works beautifully here. The blend of our world, our past, and the realm of A'aru feels remarkably believable rather than jarring, and that's a harder balance to strike than it looks.
Worldbuilding: I loved it. The author gives you exactly what you need to move forward without overwhelming you, but just enough to keep your curiosity constantly alive. The writing is straightforward and easy to follow, you can picture everything clearly. My one wish is that the prose had been a little more lyrical in places. The world feels like it has so much more texture to offer, and I would have happily lingered in it longer with richer, more flowing descriptions.
Characters: Both the FMC and MMC are strong, which I always appreciate. They're supportive of each other, they fight for each other, and the connection between them, while it arrives fairly quickly, is earned by the way the plot is constructed, so it doesn't feel cheap. What I loved most is that the relationship never tips into toxicity. Both of them give each other room to leave, and they still choose each other, even when the odds are stacked against them. There's something really beautiful about that. I did wish the secondary characters got more page time, the world around the two leads feels a little thin. And I wanted to see more of the FMC's defiance. There are flashes of it that are genuinely electric, and I kept wanting the author to lean into it harder.
The antagonist: This is where the book lost a star for me. Without getting into specifics, the main threat builds well, and then the resolution arrives too quickly and too neatly. After so much tension, it deflates rather than detonates. Hopefully this gets more room to breathe in future books.
Spice: Open door, I'd put it at a 4/5.
Overall, The Silver Thread is a promising and genuinely original start to what I hope becomes a series with more room to expand, in its world, its side characters, and its conflict. I'll absolutely be continuing.

No sé cómo hacer esta reseña sin soltar spoilers (no lo haré), porque tengo muchas cosas para decir. Desde el comienzo, los personajes me cayeron bien, sobre todo Alderian. La novela está llena de amor, tensiones, momentos tristes y confesiones que te dejan el corazón blando y con ganas de venganza. A medida que avancé la lectura, sentía más rabia por el sistema de los A'aurin (espíritus guardianes).
Por un lado, tenemos a Alderian, un espíritu guardián que está enamorado de Augustine, su humana destinada. Ambos están unidos por un hilo de plata, pero están condenados a olvidarse. Mientras Alderian es un guardián, Augustine no es capaz de verlo y cuando ella muere, intercambian de lugar. Ella es su guardiana y él, un humano que no la recuerda. Sin embargo, un día algo cambia. Una anomalía, una grieta en el sistema, hace que Augustine pueda ver y oír a Alderian.
Confundido y emocionado porque por fin pueden hablar, Alderian no hace nada para corregir esa anomalía y, por ende, la situación escala a mayor. Entre confesiones amorosas, momentos íntimos, risas y caricias, la vida de los dos cambia, quizás para mejor, quizás para peor. Augustine tiene un acosador peligroso, pierde amigos, enfrenta a sus sombras y abre una grieta mayor. Me encantó de principio a fin y marqué muchos diálogos de Alderian e incluso de Elarión quien, pese a su comportamiento final, sigue cayéndome muy bien. Cada personaje le da un toque especial a la historia y no quitaría a nadie, ni siquiera a Milán. Voy a esperar con ansias la continuación, porque CÓMO ME VAS A DEJAR CON ESE FINAL, O SEAAAA. Me engancho desde las primeras páginas. Se me hizo súper fácil y adictivo de leer (los caps son súper cortitos), con una trama que toma elementos que ya conocemos dentro del romantasy, pero que la autora logra combinar de una forma que funciona increíblemente bien🤌🏽😮💨
Esta historia me hizo desear ser la protagonista únicamente para poder ver también a mi ángel guardián😏. Porque manaass.. Este hombre es todo lo que está bien en la vida: protector (tócala y muere, cómo nos gustan🙂↕️), poderoso, devoto y completamente entregado a ella. Además, físicamente es mi debilidad absoluta: pelo blanco y con alas🪽. Como puedo ser objetiva con semejante combinación?🤤
Me enamore de la dinámica entre los protas desde su primer diálogo, y no es que yo sea una facilona (que si lo soy🤣), pero es que sus conversaciones son preciosas. Tienen el toque de diversión que me encanta, complicidad, tensión y una ternura que me iba derritiendo poco a poco. Leer como se anhelan y como va creciendo ese slow burn tan delicioso fue de mis cosas favoritas del libro❤️🔥
También disfrute mucho del worldbuilding. Como alguien que le encanta la fantasia y que se pierde en universos nuevos, amé asomarme a este mundo. Siento que para ser el primer libro tiene una muy buena dosis de información porque no se vuelve denso ni introductorio como solemos ver en primeros libros de fantasía. Eso si, me dejo con muchísima curiosidad. Quiero conocer más sobre las leyes, su origen, sus misterios y todo lo que rodea a los A’aruin porque siento que hay mucho por explorar.
Ya sospechaba algo del conflicto, pero el giro que da la prota me fascinó. No voy a decir mas nada porque sería spoiler y eso aquí jamaaasss❌
Del final no dire nada porque Ema te quiero, gracias mil por escribir esta belleza pero WTF? Como nos vas a cortar las alas así linda?😳

Me anoté para intentar obtener esta colaboración con la autora debido a que, al leer los tropes, y ver que se relacionaba con ángeles y amores prohibidos, me vino una nostalgia de mi yo adolescente que amaba leer libros de este estilo.
Así que estuve la mar de contenta cuando Ema me eligió.
Me pareció un libro bastante original, ya que trata de los ángeles guardianes.
Alderian y Aldana viven sumergidos en una eternidad donde su amor solo puede ser unilateral… Ya que cuando uno encarna en una nueva vida humana, el otro pasa a ser su ángel guardián (un A’aruin) y, al morir el humano, se intercambian los papeles. ¿Y qué ocurre con esto? Que solo los ángeles pueden ver y recordar, pero en sus formas humanas olvidan todo, ni siquiera pueden verlos ni hablarles. El único contacto es a través de los sueños y, aun así, el humano al despertar también lo olvida.
Pero, un día, Augustine cambiará esto, originando un caos que a muchos les molestará.
Al inicio me estaba pareciendo una historia simplecita, destacando que me resultó apresurado el amor de ella hacia él. Me hubiera gustado que se cuestionara un poco más el asunto. Por él lo entendía, recordaba todo.
Luego el libro pasó a darme un montón de escenarios que no esperaba, incluso en cuanto a cuestiones humanas, fuera de la fantasía, como en varios aspectos relacionados con las redes sociales. Me gustó cómo la autora los llevó a cabo.
Por otro lado, ellos comienzan a tener un crecimiento enorme, debido a que parte de su vida pasada, borrada de sus memorias (tanto para ellos como para cada A’aurin), comienza a resurgir, involucrando a otros seres, como a las sombras.
Amé la fuerza de su unión, creo que la autora quiso expresar un amor que trasciende en el tiempo pase lo que pase, y yo pude percibirlo.
Mis personajes favoritos fueron Augustine y el Guardián del Olvido.
Muchos misterios todavía continúan en el aire, y cuando salga el siguiente libro, estoy dispuesta a descubrirlos. Así que, a pesar de mi primera impresión al comenzar la lectura, para mí fue un libro estupendo del que quedé maravillada.

El hilo de plata nos muestra una historia de amor idílica donde nada, ni nadie, es capaz de eliminar el amor que se profesan el uno al otro. Lo curioso es que no importa cuántas vidas pasen ya que el cariño, la lealtad y el deseo de luchar para que la otra persona sea feliz persiste, sin importar si son pareja o no.
Se dice que el verdadero amor te deja libre, sin restricciones, sin ataduras y Alderian siempre ha querido eso para Augustine. Aun así, ella teme ser juzgada por sus actos y lo único que encuentra en él es complicidad y apoyo absoluto: “Si quieres quemar el mundo, lo quemaré también.”
Es verdad que su historia es una lucha constante por los numerosos obstáculos que se encuentran en el camino, pero he de destacar otros aspectos de esta maravillosa novela:
• Primero: el sistema obsoleto y opresor en el que se encuentran los A’aruin obligados a olvidar, incapaces de amar o de tener pensamientos propios. Se deben al completo a ese humano al que están enlazados y no pueden salirse de lo establecido. Si los consideran problemáticos o cometen cualquier error el castigo está asegurado.
• Segundo: el tacto con el que trata la depresión profunda y la manera en la que expresa ese tipo de emociones tan difíciles y complejas.
• Tercero: lealtad y amistad. Nunca sabes dónde te vas a encontrar a una persona fiel, leal y justa a tu lado. A veces es una amiga de toda la vida, otras un compañero que te ayuda a ser mejor y otras una compañera con la que tienes buen feeling. Debo decir que el tema de la amistad me encanta. Esa familia elegida y que siempre está ahí para superar los días malos que te da la vida.
Para acabar, estoy deseando poder tener en mis manos la continuación porque la cosa está que arde. Augustine no se va a rendir y ni si quiera “el olvido” hará que se desvíe de su objetivo.
Frase que destacar: “El cuerpo recuerda lo que la consciencia olvida.”

No es una historia más de ángeles y humanos, ES LA HISTORIA QUÉ TE ATRAPARÁ DESDE EL PRIMER CAPÍTULO. NADA ES IMPOSIBLE PARA AUGUSTINE Y ALDERIAN❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Podría decir que este libro es hermoso, pero eso no le hace justicia; es maravilloso. Hace mucho tiempo que no imaginaba tanto mientras leía. Ema, me hiciste viajar a través de este libro. Me hiciste desear tener un ángel, esa conexión única y la capacidad de comunicarme con ellos.
Experimenté una gama de emociones con cada capítulo que leí, y tenía muchas preguntas e incógnitas que fui respondiendo a medida que avanzaba en la lectura.
Una traición duele pero desgarra cuando la hace alguien querido. Augustine no lo merecía 💔😭
Pasar cientos de años juntos sin poder comunicarse, ya fuera como ángeles o como humanos 💔, fue muy triste, pero gracias a la anomalía de Augustine, las cosas cambian. Y ambos están dispuestos a todo por seguir juntos 🥳

¿Por qué Alderian tiene alas negras?
¿Por qué A'aru es así?
¿Quién es Alderian?
¿Quién es Aldana en realidad?
¿Cuál fue el motivo del nuevo orden?

This book starts off by introducing the main character Augustine and her “A’aruin” Alderian. A’aruin are guardian beings, invisible to the humans they protect. A human and their A’aruin are attached by a silver thread and constantly change places in an unending cycle where they can never interact, but only take turns watching each other.
Until the day when Augustine has a near death experience and comes out of it being able to see all the A’aruin, including her own. That awareness is forbidden and the closer she becomes to Alderian, the more she interacts with his world, the more the secrets that hold them apart begin to unravel.
This is a really unique take on the concept of angels and I find myself fascinated by the world-building here. There are obviously so many things that the A’aruin culture and hierarchy have forgotten and it seems to me that ignorance in entirely intentional. Somebody *changed* things, leaving the A’aruin in a cold and colourless world that has no space left for love and relationships, only duty. I find myself wanting to know so much more about the history and how it relates to our myths of angels and demons.
One of the things I found genuinely hilarious about the book was the juxtaposition of Augustine’s life as a college student against what was going through with Alderian. There is college kid drama with dating and betrayal and back-stabbing and oh yeah, also there are shadow monsters and mysterious silver women trying to kill you. I really want to see more of Augustine’s friends – her real friends – becoming involved in the plot and finding their own happiness and freedom.
This is a truly unique story and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Alderian es un guardián (A'aruin) atado a Augustine mediante un sagrado Hilo de Plata. Él la ha observado y amado en silencio a través de múltiples reencarnaciones, reteniendo cada uno de sus recuerdos, mientras ella lo ignora por completo.

Al apoyarse en tropos como el amor prohibido, las vidas pasadas y la proximidad forzada, acabamos viviendo un romance magnético y emotivo altamente adictivo.
A tener en cuenta que los primeros capítulos pueden requerir un poquito de paciencia al introducir las leyes que rigen el olvido y la división de mundos, pero es fundamental para poder seguir la trama.
Al ser el primer volumen, nos deja con la miel en los labios y deseando una continuación cuanto antes, puesto que quedan interrogantes abiertos y cabos sueltos para continuar en las siguientes entregas de la saga.
En resumen, si disfrutas con el romantasy dulce pero intenso, las historias de almas gemelas atrapadas en un destino trágico, rebelión espiritual y un amor capaz de romper barreras interdimensionales, esta es tu novela.

This was an enjoyable read with a really promising premise. I loved the concept of souls being bound together across lifetimes, protecting one another through reincarnation. The mythology and lore surrounding these connections were intriguing, and I found myself particularly interested in uncovering more about the world's mysterious guardians and their history.
While I enjoyed the story overall, I did feel the pacing was a little rushed at times, especially in the opening chapters. Some scenes and character developments moved quickly, leaving me wanting a little more depth and explanation. A few plot points also felt a bit too convenient, and some of the larger confrontations didn't quite have the payoff I was hoping for.
That said, the world has a lot of potential, the characters kept me invested, and the ending definitely left me eager to see what happens next. The story introduces some exciting developments towards the end that make the sequel incredibly tempting.
With a light romance element and around 🌶🌶 spice, I'd recommend this to YA fantasy readers looking for an engaging story with soulmate themes, intriguing magic, and enough mystery to keep the pages turning.

Agradezco a la autora por la confianza, la oportunidad y sobre todo dejarme ser lectora ( ARC), está historia desde que ví la portada y el título dije es fantasía, romance y porqué no un nuevo territorio por explorar .
Creo que la parte por la cual conecté mucho con la historia fue por el hecho, de las almas predestinadas, gemelas y sobre los ángeles guardianes, por lo que no sepan estos temas me gustan y soy fiel creyente de ellos. Está historia quizás te suene que sea una tragedia de amor, de esperanza, desilusión pero no solo eso sino tiene personajes que a veces a mi los tomaba como esencias o los correlaciona a cómo creían que se veían como en hotel haz bit.
Agustine es huma/A’aruin, es hermosa, lista, inteligente , sentimental, sensible , valiente, guapa , y también con ciertas habilidades, una chica decidida como humana es como cualquier adolescente que piensa en equivocarse, arriesgarse, incluso jugarse la aunque salga las tomaba, sus habilidades hablan más de un despertar de la conciencia que otra cosa, su parte A’aruin es luminosa, tengas, romántica, justiciera e porque no lucha por su verdad .
Alderean es un A’aruin/humano apuesto , sensible, duro a veces con sus emociones, atractivo, celoso, impulsivos , incluso no digamos migajero pero sí que prefiere la felicidad de quien ama como A’aruin o Ángel Guardian es autoritario, impredecible, posesivo, preocupado, a veces imprudente o arriesgado, como humano confiado, ágil, astuto, impulsivos, seguro a veces incluso celoso y romántico.
Ambos han vivido una vida de cambio de roles de proteger o cuidar al otro aunque no siempre, termina bien para su unión ya que el simple hecho de que mezclen sus mundos. Lo que sienten, y el Hilo que los une han hecho que se busquen todas la vidas,esto puede ser la causa de que todo se altere o hacer que más de una persona se involucre, cuenta con personajes único, mágicos y llenos de sorpresas, picardías, lo cual hace de la historia amena siento que también de mis personajes favoritos es el Olvidó ojo que aveces uno no quisiera olvidar ciertas cosas, pero el dolor vaya que varios quisiéramos así que te invito a leer esta historia.

Slowly, she starts noticing all kinds of odd things; a silver thread coming out of her chest, a voice only she can hear, and Alderian, an angel only she can see. On top of this, she starts to see and hear everyone else's A'aruins!
Conflicting, confusing feelings develop and sparks fly; Augustine and Alderian can't stop thinking about each other despite not being able to physically touch.
Unfortunately, the Guardians of Order, Threads and Oblivion begin to catch wind of strange breaches that seem to be connected to the two.
As they try to hide their secret relationship, the two start to wonder who they really are? How long have they really known each other?
I really loved the concept of this and loved the love story. I'm also really impressed because Ema has released this in both English and Spanish!
The pacing felt odd at times however I still had a blast reading! There is a human antagonist that will make your skin crawl and I think he could have been built as a bigger threat but also kind of glad he wasn't? If you know, you know!
I am keen to read book two when it comes out!

« Me gusto muchísimo la historia, era intrigante leer como un ángel guardián y una humana desafiaban lo imposible, lo impensable.
Desde el momento uno incluso cuándo aún no intercambiaban palabras sentí la conexión de almas, que es algo que está preciosamente retratado aquí. La idea de que tú alma sea tan afín a la de otro ser que estén destinados para una eternidad en todas sus vidas pero sin poder conectar en un mismo tiempo y espacio.
Algo que amé es que la autora no sólo te escribe emociones, si no que te hace sentir a través de las páginas esas emociones; no tuve dudas de la ternura, la posesividad, el amor y al mismo tiempo la nostalgia que reflejaban nuestros protagonistas.
Me impresionó conectar tan rápido con el sentir de ambos, no lo sentí forzado, no lo sentí fuera de ritmo al contrario; la lectura es tan ligera y amena qué una vez que comienzas seguir te resulta demasiado fácil.
Alderian definitivamente tiene las vibes de husband literario y Agustine aunque a veces me parecía un poco infantil me hizo sentir que era muy real, sobre todo me sentí identificada con ella como creadora de contenido, exponer tu vulnerabilidad y dejar que los demás te vean cómo eres es aterrador a veces y ella fue muy valiente y dulce, ambos son preciosos.
Y por último pero no menos importante cuando escuché Cosmic Love lo sentí parte de esto, pero tendrían que leer el libro para entender, así que... Tienen que leerlo.🩵 »

I was instantly hooked by the premise of this book, so I signed up for an ARC. I was thrilled to get it, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
From page one, the world of A’ru grabbed me. I fell right into the story and couldn’t stop reading.

And that ending? Perfect setup for book two. As part of the ARC, I got the first three chapters, and I’m going to dive into them now.

The Silver Thread felt very emotional and atmospheric from the beginning. The concept of guardian spirits tied to humans through invisible threads was honestly what pulled me in first, but the relationship between Augustine and Alderian ended up being the reason I stayed invested.
Their connection feels both deeply familiar and completely impossible at the same time. I really liked how the romance developed through memories, dreams, and small moments rather than relying only on dramatic scenes. It gave the story a softer, more emotional feel that worked really well for this kind of fantasy.
I also enjoyed that the world slowly opens up the further you read. At first it seems quite simple and character focused, but then more secrets start unfolding around the threads, the guardians, and the rules controlling everything. By the second half, I was fully locked in trying to figure out what was really going on.
Alderian was probably my favorite part of the book. He feels patient, lonely, protective, and slightly tragic in a way that made it very easy to root for him. And Augustine’s curiosity and determination balanced him nicely.
That ending definitely left me needing the next book because there are still so many questions left unanswered.
