Christie Gordon

Christie Gordon is the author of steamy, heartfelt gay romance novels that explore the emotional journey of men discovering themselves and finding love. It all started when she stumbled upon MM fanfiction by accident—and let's just say, it was love at first read. Inspired by the genre's mix of passion and complexity, Christie transitioned from reading about men in love to writing her own stories. After taking fiction writing classes at a local community college, she published her first MM romance novel in 2009 with a small press, and she’s never looked back.
When she’s not writing, Christie watches boys-love dramas, creates digital art, or is serenaded by her snoring one-eyed rescue pug. A graduate of both Electrical Engineering (BS) and Business Administration (MBA), she spends her "day job" navigating the high-tech world, but her heart belongs to the characters who live in her books. Christie currently resides in the Phoenix metro area, though she’s also lived in California’s Bay Area and Minnesota (which probably explains her deep love of pumpkin spiced latte coffees and hockey).
She’s also the proud mother of two young-adult sons who provide plenty of material for stories—usually in the form of chaotic shenanigans. But no matter what, Christie’s always up for a new adventure, whether it's on the page or in the real world.

Evan Crosby has finally made it. After a gruelling five-year grind in the minor leagues, he gets his major call-up to the Arizona Coyotes as a "Black Ace" just in time for the high-pressure NHL playoffs. Celebrating at a Scottsdale bar, he locks eyes with Ronan Vale, the lead singer of his absolute favourite rock band, Vanta Crown. The physical connection is an instant, explosive magnetic force—so much so that they are practically jumping onto each other the absolute second they cross the threshold of the front door.

But their lives are a chaotic clash of completely opposite worlds. Evan is a clean-cut NHL rookie trying to establish his spot on the roster without the distraction of a media frenzy, while Ronan comes with the massive, chaotic spotlight of being a global rockstar. Because of the sheer pressure of the playoffs, Evan wants to keep their relationship entirely under wraps for now. While Ronan does worry about what will happen when Evan eventually has to come out to the world, Evan doesn't shy away from him, so that worry doesn't last long. Instead, their private relationship quickly becomes a beautiful, safe haven where both men can finally escape the suffocating expectations of their public lives.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I thoroughly, completely adored this book! It was such a beautiful, easy reading experience with so much genuine warmth crammed inside the pages. Now, I normally enjoy a high-angst bisexual awakening full of dark turmoil and painful denial, but the sheer, swoon-worthy love in this story just hit my heart from the very first page and absolutely refused to let up. Ronan & Evan have some delicious spicy times, but the real highlight was watching their intimacy grow and develop. Evan was such an incredible character. I really loved how he—having always considered himself a straight man—just falls completely head over heels for Ronan. He has a very minor wobble after their first intimate moments, but he didn't shy away or spend chapters questioning himself after that. He knew what he wanted, and I loved him for it.

The dynamic between this famous rockstar and the "clean-cut" athlete is pure perfection, driven by an intense opposites-attract chemistry and the most beautiful mutual caretaking. Ronan has been damaged and bruised by his past, but watching him step up as a protective, grounding force when Evan faces playoff anxiety completely melted me. Mind you, it isn't all heavy emotion—we also have the absolute joy of Beanbag, or "Bean" for short, Ronan’s adorable French bulldog. Bean brought some genuinely lighthearted moments to the book, especially his habit of running away to hide the second things got a bit too hot 'n' heavy between Ronan & Evan!

The plot isn't without its external friction, which comes in the form of Ronan's absolutely dreadful father. You could see exactly where that storyline was heading from a mile away; the looming betrayal and toxic family dynamics were very plain to see. But knowing it was coming didn't stop the heartache when the truth finally broke and the media fallout hit. I really felt the emotional weight of it all, and it made me desperately want to reach through the pages and give Ronan a massive hug. I loved how the roles reversed between the pair and Evan became the caretaker as he supported Ronan.

On the brighter side, diving back in with characters we first met in Blindsided Lesson was so exciting. Getting to know the "Coyotes" roster better and watching their fierce locker room found-family support network accept them was everything I wanted. By the time I reached the ending, I actually had a few tears threatening to appear. I thoroughly loved every single part of their journey.

You absolutely rocked it, "Ro-Van"!

This is an incredibly comforting, high-heat, and emotionally rich MM sports romance that will completely capture your heart. The transition from an instant physical pull into an ironclad, supportive partnership handles the bisexual awakening trope with absolute perfection and maturity. With the perfect mix of high-stakes hockey pressure, rockstar glamour, a protective found family, and a gorgeous little Frenchie, it is impossible to put down.

Honestly, I left this book wanting so much more of Evan, Ronan, and Bean—I am officially waiting for my invite to coffee on Ronan's patio to watch the sunset with them.

ARC REVIEW
BLUE LINE COLLISION (Desert Elite Hockey #1) di Christie Gordon
VOTO: 4⭐3🌶

English Review:
Blue Line Collision is the first book in Christie Gordon’s new Desert Elite Hockey series. The main characters are Evan, Colton’s best friend from Blindside Lesson, and Ronan, the frontman of the rock band Vanta Crown, which is hugely popular with teens. They meet in the first chapter at a bar and they get along very well, even though Evan says he's straight and focused on his new NHL career with the Coyotes and he can’t let a relationship distract him. The two will keep their relationship a secret, often meeting at Ronan’s house.
I loved the incredible chemistry right from the start and watching them fall in love was exciting!
I hated Ronan’s father; he was just awful. I’m glad Evan wasn’t alone dealing with him.
I expected the relationship to develop more slowly (since Evan had told Ronan he was straight), but I really liked the story; Christie Gordon is amazing, and I love her writing style, it’s always so sweet.
I really liked Evan’s mother, especially for how she accepted Ronan as her son’s boyfriend.
I can’t wait to read the next book!
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I thoroughly enjoyed Evan and Ronan’s journey to unexpectedly finding the person who filled a hole they didn’t realize was there, someone who “saw” them, listened to what they said and provided unwavering support, there when needed, and offered the special love and affection that was missing in their lives (except for Ronan’s Bean). Neither had any idea that a chance encounter at a bar, and then another one at a charity event, would put them on a path to change their lives in a dramatic way. Although inconvenient, timing wise, Evan discovered something about himself which he never expected, something that could compete with his focus on hockey and his career and that opened a whole new understanding of his sexuality and capacity for feelings of love. Ronan was supportive of Evan and his discoveries, moving at Evan’s pace, yet surprised in many ways at Evan’s enthusiastic commitment to learning all that he could about this new self-realization of who he was becoming.

Both had a good support system, willing to not ask too many questions, but there when needed for one or both. Trying to keep the relationship under wraps until Evan’s place on the team was secure, and the games were over, was a challenge in some ways, both were very invested in continuing to move forward, aware that getting ‘caught’ could have ramifications, so one thing that Evan did most times they got together did surprise me even though I understood why he did it. Everything was not always smooth, past events have a way of surfacing at inconvenient times, but all worked out in the end, in some ways more positive than they would have expected. They end up in a good place, moving forward toward the life they want together.

Both Evan and Ronan were very realistic and relatable to me, and I quickly became engaged in their developing romance, reading the book in one sitting. I could immerse myself in their deepening feelings for each other and the concerns both had about possible impacts on their careers if they were outed too soon, especially Evan and his bi-awakening. Christie’s world building, both in the hockey arena and out, help me create vivid pictures in my mind as I read, enhancing the story for me. (One thing that just occurred to me is that Ronan seems older than Evan to me even though he is a year younger. I wonder if that is due to his life experiences — just a random question that popped up unexpectedly. I wonder is anyone else felt that, too, as they read.)

One thing I really enjoy in this author’s books is the crossover of characters from her college hockey and football series into the professional sport she is writing about. There is so much backstory that adds to the books if you have read her previous series. It isn’t required, but it just enhances the interactions between characters and friend reactions with the history between them. It looks like Alex Volkov, Coyotes team captain will be the next player to get his story. I’m looking forward to that one next. If you enjoy sports reads, especially hockey ones, I would recommend this book or any of her others as an enjoyable read for you. Give her a try if you haven’t yet. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Blue Line Collision starts another hockey series by Christie Gordon, the Desert Elite series. We first met Evan in book 5 of the Desert Football series as Colton’s best friend. Evan is an AHL hockey player who is fortunate to get called up to the NHL for the playoffs as a Black Ace to cover for an injured player. Evan’s goal is to make the Coyotes’ full time roster for the next season so he’s trying to keep his nose down, play hard, and avoid distractions. What he doesn’t account for is meeting Ronan, lead singer of popular music group Vanta Crown out at a bar when he goes out to celebrate his call up. Their connection is instantaneous, and it catches Evan, who heretofore was only attracted to women and considered himself straight, completely off guard.

Their paths cross again at a charity event, which leads to them making plans to get together to work out in Ronan’s home gym where Evan meets Ronan’s dog, Bean, and discovers how secretly domestic “bad boy” Ronan actually is. During their workout “date” they learn more about each other’s families to include Ronan’s deadbeat drug addicted dad and of course one thing leads to another and they share their first kiss…and more.

Their relationship progresses over time but Evan opts to keep their relationship secret, telling his friends he’s seeing a woman, because Evan worries how the truth might attract the wrong kind of attention and impact his ability to sign with the Coyotes next season. Meanwhile, as Evan is coming to terms with his bisexuality and working hard to play the best hockey he can, Ronan is blindsided by his father’s reappearance in his orbit. Together the men navigate the hockey playoffs and parental relationships while building their own. As expected, the story reaches an eventual conflict and peak, and the men do, finally, achieve their happily ever after.

As this is a start of a new series, it is certainly a standalone novel, though reading the prior Desert Hockey series (and the final book of the Desert Football series) would help to provide familiarity with some of the secondary characters. It’s not crucial, but I really love the references to prior books as I’m reading a new series, and Christie does this particularly well starting all the way back with the Mesa Boys and Rock U series. So if you enjoy Blue Line Collision and want to enter a Phoenix, Arizona (and surrounding cities) MM universe with LOTS of books to binge, this author will not disappoint. I enjoy that all of these books are told from both characters’ points of view and in general, her characters are likable men who you want to see find happiness by the end. My one pet peeve here is the overuse of the word “pleasant” as an adjective (pleasant morning, pleasant surprise, pleasant buzz, etc.), just as I found that the word nice was overdone in her last book. I don’t know why this particularly stands out to me but it was often enough to be noticeable.

I look forward to what’s to come in the Desert Elite world, as the Coyotes captain finally gets his time to shine.

This is the first book in Christie Gordon's new Desert Elite Hockey series, featuring Evan and Ronan as the main characters.

I have to say, this series is off to a very strong start, and I'm already excited for what's coming next. Then again, Christie Gordon has yet to disappoint me, no matter which of her books I pick up.

So, about the book:
On one side, we have Evan Crosby, who gets called up from the AHL to the NHL during the playoffs as a replacement for the Coyotes. On the other, there's Ronan Vale, the lead singer of Vanta Crown.

They meet in the very first chapter, and the chemistry between them is there from the start. The only thing I struggled with a little was how quickly their relationship developed. Despite Evan initially identifying as straight, I expected his feelings and attraction to another man to unfold a bit more gradually. That said, I also ended up loving it because Evan accepted those feelings with such openness and honesty. Watching him fall in love with Ronan was genuinely wonderful.

One thing I really want to highlight is the pacing of the story. Everything was handled so well. We didn't just get to follow Evan and Ronan's growing relationship, we also got Evan's determination to earn a permanent contract with the Coyotes, as well as the arrival of someone from Ronan's past who, let's just say, was not exactly my favorite person. Not even close.

I loved that there wasn't any unnecessary conflict between Evan and Ronan. They were willing to do anything for each other, and their relationship felt refreshingly supportive throughout the story.

But do you know who completely stole the show?
Bean. Yes! Ronan's dog.
Because if there's one thing about me, it's that if you put a dog in a book, you've already earned yourself an extra star. Granted, this book was going to be a five-star read for me anyway, so Bean didn't really need to help, but still.

To sum it up: this was a fun, entertaining read. You could probably spot the source of the upcoming drama from a mile away, but honestly, that didn't bother me at all.

And do you know what else was amazing?
There was no third-act breakup. And honestly, that's always a win in my book.

Also: I am SO excited for Alex and Julian's story!

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC.

I received a free advance copy. This review is submitted voluntarily.

Evan Cosby is a defenseman just called up to the NHL during the playoffs. Ronan Vale is a rock star on hiatus after a long tour. The two meet in a bar where Evan went to have a mini celebration of his call-up. They have a nice conversation, though Evan has to leave early to be ready for practice with his new team the next day. His father is rather overbearing since he played hockey as well but never made it to the NHL. Meanwhile, Ronan is haunted by his past where his father abandoned him and his mother, and where his mother took up with a series of boyfriends, one of whom murdered her. After their meeting at the bar, they though they’d never see each other again (1neither can get the other out of his mind), but they meet again at a charity event where Ronan and his friend Drew are performing. They get together (up to this point Evan was sure he was straight) and the rest, as they say, is history.

The plot in this story is a tad more complex than in other sports romances. On the one hand, there is the romance between Evan and Ronan. On another, there is Evan’s desire to be signed permanently with the Coyotes. And on a third hand, there is the conflict with Ronan’s father who makes a return into Ronan’s life. Plus, of course, there’s the sexual identity with which to deal. Both MCs are clearly made for each other, with no real conflicts between them and both being ready to do anything for the other. And both adore Ronan’s French bulldog Bean. When they are outed, it is handy that a number of the Coyote players are also queer (we met them in a previous series by the author) and that they both had been to an extent prepared for it. I found both MCs to be sweeties who are totally sympathetic. There is a goodly number of secondary characters there to help them. Ronan’s two band members know right off the bat and keep the secret while encouraging them. It was great to meet up again with the various queer players on the Coyotes. I’m also pleased to see that the author did not change any of the NHL team names as it doesn’t complicate the reading unnecessarily.

Another hit from the author that I’m happy to recommend.

Blue Line Collision by Christie Gordon is the first book in her new series Desert Elite Hockey and I absolutely loved this book!

I loved Ethan in Snapping the Ice: The Games We Play - Season 2 and I was waiting for his book. It completely blew away all my expectations, and then some! It grabbed me from page one.

Evan is an AHL hockey player who is called up to the NHL for the playoffs to cover for an injured player. He wants to be in the Coyotes’ roster the next season. Ronan is a famous Rockstar. Although Evan always thought he was straight, he didn’t spent chapters panicking or questioning himself after they got together. He just knew what he wanted and went for it. I loved their dynamic. Ronan has some heavy baggage from a pretty toxic father, but watching him step up as a protective, grounding force for Evan during the high-pressure NHL playoffs completely melted me. And when things seemed to go wrong after a massive media fallout, and they took care of each other, it just broke my heart in the best way.

And what about Bean, Ronan’s adorable French bulldog! He adds the perfect amount of comedy, especially since he literally runs away to hide whenever things start getting a little too hot and heavy between the guys. I also loved the cameos of the guys from the Desert Ice Hockey series again: Ace, Archer, Mason and Jett Jarvis (and just another Jarvis, a real one this time, has just won the Stanley Cup!).

It’s just a warm easy read with a mix of steam and emotional health, and a great hockey backdrop. I’m so excited to see more of the Coyotes roster!

Thank you, Christie Gordon for this free eARC. This is my honest review and recommendation.

5 star fire from the start. All the steam, all the spice, all the love and tender moments.

This series starts with Evan Crosby's story, who was roommates with Colton from Blindside Lesson the last book in the Desert Football series.

Evan Crosby has worked hard to go from ASU to AHL to NHL as a replacements for one of the Coyotes. And he's with the many of the guys from Desert Ice Hockey series (so fun to have them in the books again).

During his solo celly at a local bar, he runs across Ronan Vale the lead singer from Vanta Crown. The attraction for both is immediately except there's one problem. Evan isn't attracted to guys, right?

They meet again at an event hosted by Zoma and his husband Ace (from Spinning to the Goal) for his charity. Ronan plays and Evan attends with his friends from the team. They once again enjoy each other company and feel the sparks of something. Evan comes up with a plan to help Ronan with his strength training.

One thing leads to another and Evan gives into his feelings. An explosion of sparks and spice ensue every time they meet. That first spicy scene is fire. Evan also learns that Ronan has a dark past that he hasn't quite dealt with or had time to deal with when someone from his past arrives to cause problems once again for both of them.

With the help of Evan, his adorable dog Bean, and friend and guitarist Drew, Ronan is able to make peace with his past and live the life he wants.

They both fall headfirst into acceptance, love, and friendship to live the lives they both want. Not without some speed bumps, but in signature Christie Gordon style they work to get through it together. And it was so fun to see all the prior characters who popped up in this book. A great start to the Elite Hockey series.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book. Nothing has been promised or exchanged for the review.

Christie Gordon has written quite a few hockey stories, she manages, with each one, to add new twists, romances that come out of the blue and plenty of on and off-ice action. This time, the collision that happens on the blue line is completely unprecedented, surprising the characters as much as the reader!

For Evan things are really looking up. He's been playing in the AHL for five years, now he has a chance at the NHL. If he can show off his skills in these playoffs he could get a place in the NHL, all he needs is 100% concentration. That shouldn't be a problem but taking himself out for a celebratory moment finds him meeting Ronan Vale, the man whose music has been part of his life for years, the man who is looking at him as though he is something incredibly special. But to make any moves, to do anything at all with another man when Evan has only ever dated women is not only outside his comfort zone but could also be a danger to his career. Are the risks worth it?

Ronan knows fame is fragile, it also brings far too many people who don't really want you, aren't really interested in you, simply want to get close to and have a claim to fame. Caution is vital but somehow Evan breaks down every single wall, makes Ronan break every single rule he has ever set himself. Ronan isn't expecting Evan any more than Evan is expecting him. Ronan can support his career, he can cheer from the crowd but he can't tell Evan that what they have is safe from the world around them, can't make the decisions for him - even if he would love to do nothing more.

Can Ronan and Evan take the step, the big leap, to having one another, to having what they both want in the world - their music, their hockey and one another? A story that explores possibilities, that shows us we can take chances but that those chances will keep us on our toes.

BLUE LINE COLLISION - CHRISTIE GORDON

This is the first book in the new Desert Elite Hockey series.

A chance meeting in a bar in Scottsdale and Evan’s life will never be the same. Stopping in the bar near his apartment, Evan cannot believe it when he realizes Ronan Vale is sitting quietly enjoying a drink. He takes a photo to show his friend Lucas, and gets caught by Ronan. They spend time getting to know each other, and while Ronan is definitely flirting, Evan insists he is straight, but would enjoy getting together again as friends.

Of course, that doesn’t explain why Evan can’t get Ronan off his mind once he is home, or the fact that he does find him attractive. Evan has to concentrate on his career because he has finally been called up to the NHL from the AHL and knows getting involved with Ronan would be too distracting.

Meanwhile Ronan cannot believe that Evan is completely straight, and manages to find a way to see him again at a charity event. When they meet this time, Evan finds he is drawn to Ronan and wants to explore his feelings a bit more.

Ronan and Evan start spending time together between Evan’s hockey games, and can’t help exploring a friends with benefits relationship before Evan admits he is bi-sexual and doesn’t want to give up any chance he has to be with Ronan. Meanwhile when Evan is away, Ronan starts writing songs for his band’s new album, and tells his friend Drew he is inspired by his new man.

There are fantastic side characters from previous series that are a welcome part of the storyline and the challenges and drama both of the MC’s go through are very realistic and engage the reader from the beginning.

As always, Christie Gordon writes a wonderful story that is heartwarming and endearing and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

In this first installment of the "Desert Elite Hockey" series, we dive right into the storyline with Evan believing he was "Straight"... right up until he spy's one of his favorite and "Very Handsome" musicians at a bar. Sneaking a photo for his buddy, he gets caught red handed by Ronan who invites him to come sit for a drink. The encounter leaves Evan confused about his reaction to Ronan, and Ronan leaves regretting not getting Evan's contact info. A chance encounter a couple weeks later seals their fate and begins their inevitable HEA. Right from the start of their relationship, the two MCs were in sync, they fit together so well. Evan was sweet with Ronan and Ronan was just as caring with Evan; they took good care of each other right from their first meeting. Evan was conflicted about coming out due to Ronan's high level of fame, he didn't want the publicity to affect his team and their playoff run, Ronan was completely supportive of him. Evan in turn was extremely supportive of Ronan's traumatic past, and when his dirtbag of a father showed up, Evan stood by his side through it all. Ronan's Dad gave me so much anxiety 😬 man'O man. Money issues get to me; they give me so much anxiety! Unreliable, lying, absentee, users and abusers get to me. I sort of wish there was an on-page scene with Karma for Jeff the dirtbag 🤬

Overall, I really liked this story, the main characters are super likeable, they had an easy flowing realistic relationship with little angst. I had a soft spot for Ronan as he reminded me of myself, found family is the best family, and stronger sometimes than blood. In this book, you get a glimpse of past characters from past series which is always nice, and we get to know Drew, Ronan's bestie. My favorite character (besides the MCs of course) was Bean! Dogs are the best of us; we don't deserve them. I look forward to seeing where this series goes!

Hockey player/rock star emromance

Such an enjoyable romance, emotional, with a bit of angst, I finished it in one sitting. This kicks off the Desert Elite Hockey series with the perfect mix of sports drama and so many intense feels.
The chemistry between Evan, a stressed out rookie finally getting his NHL shot, and Ronan, a broody rockstar, is instant fireworks. What starts as a chance encounter quickly turns into a deep, emotional connection. It's a beautiful bisexual awakening for Evan. The way Ronan looks at him like he is the only man in the room, and the way Evan completely lowers Ronan's carefully built guards, had me swooning.
However, dating in secret is exhausting, especially with Evan's hockey career hanging by a thread during the playoffs. The constant fear of a media scandal adds so much tension to the plot. They cope by seeking out private, stolen moments , away from the flashing cameras. They also have an amazing found queer hockey family in their corner. I loved seeing cameos from the Desert Ice Hockey crew, Ace, Archer, Mason, and Jett Jarvis, they're there for the lovers, when needed, no questions asked.
I have to shout out Ronan’s adorable French bulldog, Bean! I totally fell in love with him. He's such a comedian. Whenever things start getting a little too hot and racy between Evan and Ronan, Bean literally runs away to hide. It made me smile every single time!
The conclusion is spectacular and emotional. When the final buzzer sounds on the playoff run, Evan has to make a choice between playing it safe or risking everything. The ending delivers a beautiful, grand gesture where love comes through .

I received an ARC of this story, which in no way influenced my opinion.

Rockstar – hockey player romance – yes please! I really enjoyed this book right from the start and had been looking forward to Evan’s story and it really delivered. Ronan is the perfect match for Evan and again, really enjoyed their story from a chance meeting in a bar to how it developed into something very deep and real.

Evan is a hockey player who has just been called up to the NHL and decides to take himself out for a little celebration and in the back of the bar he recognizes one of his favorite rockstars, Ronan Vale. And Ronan notices him too. There is instant chemistry between these two but Evan has always dated women and thought he was straight. But even after just one evening he can’t get Ronan out of his head and another meeting at a charity event solidifies the beginning of their friendship and so much more.

I liked the dynamic between these two, there’s a lot going on for both of these men but they are genuine and heartfelt together. Evan is trying to sort out what he’s feeling and this new attraction to Ronan along with his desire to find a permanent spot with his NHL team and really solidify his career. Ronan lives the rockstar life and has enjoyed it but he’s got a painful past and an awful excuse for a father that he tries to protect himself from. But as these two open up to each other and begin to explore the possibility of more together they both end up falling hard but they are there for each other and take care of each other.

I thought this was a really good mix of emotions, heat, romance and just the right amount of humor too – thank you Ronan’s dog Bean! I definitely enjoyed it all, especially the cameos from previous characters, and think this is a great start to a new series and I’m looking forward to more!

ONCE AGAIN ANOTHER SLAP-SHOT! 💕 🏒🎤🎶

The new series Desert Elite Hockey starts off with strong emotions and characters that I know will crawl deep into our hearts like the other series’s by this amazing author!

“I was chasing shadows in the neon light Kissing strangers just to feel something right
Every face blurred into maybe, not you Every night ended like déjà vu
I said love was a ghost I’d never meet Just a song in a key I couldn’t reach Then you walked in like a wrecking sound. And everything I lost came crashing down

You were fire in a quiet room Every glance like a loaded fuse And I swear when your hands found mine

It felt like fate finally crossed the line”
~
Evan Crosby (best friend of Carlton) entered a dive bar to celebrate his call-up to play as a Black Ace for the NHL team the Arizona Coyotes and someone unexpectedly catches his eye- a man not a woman- Ronan Vale- the singer from his favourite band- Vanta Crown and song~Sudden…

Ronan Vale- bad boy rockstar is badly smitten with his hockey player but Evan is straight…

Even has a beautiful Bi-awakening with his sweet, generous, sexy, surprisingly domesticated Rock star but needs to stay in the closet to make it as a Coyote in the NHL until the worst scenario happens…

This is their love story about how Evan and Ronan became close and unexpectedly so much more together with Ronan’s lovable dog Bean, band members and Evan’s hockey family, they overcome scam artists, homophobia and “clutch performance” pressure to become “RoVan” to the world!

I especially loved the last chapter and Epilogue and look forward to the Captain of The Coyotes next with an unruly, spoilt brat…

This is the first book in the Desert Elite Hockey series and it is off to a wonderful start. This is the story of Evan Crosby and Ronan Vale. Evan is a defensemen and AHL hockey player. All his hard work is paying off when he is called up to the NHL as a Black Ace. He is going to be in the playoffs as a substitute for an injured player. Evan knows that this is his chance to get the Coyotes to really see him as a player and his potential. It could lead to fulfilling his dream of being full time player on an NHL team. When he goes out to celebrate the night before he joins the team, he sees the lead singer of a popular group at the bar. Thinking he is discrete, he snaps a photo of Ronan to send to his friend. Ronan explains how he wasn't discrete at all the first time they meet. They both meet again at a charity event. The instant connection and chemistry that they both felt the first time, is still there. Evan begins to understand and explore that his sexuality may not have been as black and white as he originally thought. This is their story. I received a complementary advanced review copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review. The book is well written and easy to read. I loved watching how their relationship slowly evolved. Both men were in a position where privacy was vital but very hard to maintain. I liked how they supported each other as well. Of course the secondary characters such as teammates and bandmates really made the story richer. This is a fun and entertaining book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

I’ve got to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this Book.
Evan Crosby is playing for the coyotes. He’s not a permanent player yet but with hard work he could get there. He knew he had to concentrate on his hockey. But one night he saw the lead singer from his favourite band and they made eye contact. And then Ronan came over and sorted talking to Evan. The issue is Evan has always saw himself as a straight guy he had dated many women, but he was noticing things about Ronan. And he was feeling an attraction to him. They stayed for a few drinks and then as chance would have it the band had been asked to play a charity function. He agreed, especially when he found out some of the coyote players would be there. Because Ronan was also feeling an attraction to Evan. They met up at the function and on the understanding Evan was going to come and look at his gym and Ronan some tips. Oh really? ??
The attraction between these two was instant and very real and although Evan should be concentrating on his hockey, the attraction he felt for Ronan was addictive. They had this mad obsession with each other, but it was real and they were both supportive for one another. There’s another twist in this story that I’ll let you read for yourself but know that both men were there for each other. The passion is off the charts chemistry is electric but for me it was this deep rooted connection that they had for one another that made the story.
I received a ARC from the author and this is me leaving my honest review.

Christie Gordon is the queen when it comes to a bi-awakening sports romance! This book delivered the perfect mix of emotion, chemistry, spice, and discovering love in the most unexpected places.

Evan Crosby has been working hard to be called up from the AHL to the NHL. Now that he's finally earned a spot with the Coyotes, he's determined to prove he belongs and secure a permanent place on the roster. Having only ever dated women, Evan has always considered himself straight…until he meets one of his favorite musicians, Ronan Vale.

What begins as a simple attraction quickly turns into something much deeper. Evan finds himself drawn to Ronan in ways he's never experienced before, and the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to ignore his feelings. Watching Evan navigate this new side of himself felt authentic, emotional, and incredibly heartfelt.

One of my favorite things about this story was how naturally Evan and Ronan's relationship developed. Their connection was undeniably intense, but it wasn't just built on attraction alone. There was so much depth to their relationship as Evan worked to break down Ronan's walls, trying to understand his past, and showing him that he didn't have to carry everything on his own. Their unwavering support for one another made their romance even more special.

Another thing I love about Christie Gordon's books is how interconnected they are. While each series stand on their own, familiar faces from previous books make appearances throughout the series.

This is book one in the author’s new Desert Elite Hockey series and features Evan, a hockey player called up to the NHL and hot rock star, Ronan (he kinda reminded me a little of the Rock U series and specifically, Axel from Come Closer to Me).

Oh man, this book was so. GOOD! Evan kinda brings to mind a sleek, golden retriever; happy, friendly and open while Ronan makes me think of… well, I don’t really know what…something deep and a little mysterious, maybe? Whatever it was, I loved it—loved both guys really. They each had their own concerns but it didn’t slow them down and together, they were perfection. And the steam, oh my gosh, YESSS! I certainly wasn’t ready for the book to end. I kept trying to think of things I needed to do so I could make it last longer until finally, I couldn’t hold out anymore and finished the rest in one sitting, no bathroom breaks… nothing; I seriously couldn’t wait any more to get to the end and I was by no means disappointed (though I knew I wouldn’t be from past experience).

I honestly can’t recommend this book enough! If you’ve already read any of the author’s books before, whether it was any of the books in her hockey series, football, rock stars or skaters, then you know exactly what I’m talking about but if you haven’t, check out the other reviews—don’t just take my word for it—you’ll soon see what I’m talking about. Check it out, either this one or any of her other books, today; I think you’ll find that you found a new favorite author. 5 stars

Blue Line Collision by Christie Gordon is the first book in a new series about Evan and Ronan. Evan, a professional hockey player in the minors who stopped in a bar to celebrate being called up to the NHL. Ronan, a rockstar who just came back from being on tour, stopped in for a drink. When Evan walked in it was the classic saw from across the room moment. When Ronan approached Evan for taking his picture they started talking and Ronan felt a connection between them and Evan was confused as he identified as straight but couldn't get Ronan out of his mind. When they end up meeting again at a charity event for one of Evan’s teammates they both notice their connection is getting stronger. With the post season games and the pressure to perform so the coyotes keep him permanently he really didn't have time to spend with Ronan but there was something about him that called to him and when he realized he was falling for Ronan they had to find a way to be together. Ronan, a rockstar, had his share of disappointments and hardships in his life but he was finally pretty content in his life until he met Evan. The sweet, genuine man who showed up when he needed him the most and continued to be there no matter the issues. I really loved this story of two men on the edge of getting everything they wanted and didn't know they needed each other to be truly happy. This was a great start of a new series and cannot wait until the next installment.

This was such a strong start to a new series, and I ended up reading it in one sitting.

Evan, a hockey player freshly called up to the NHL during the playoffs, and Ronan, a rock star taking a break from touring, meet by chance and immediately click. What starts as an unexpected connection quickly becomes something neither of them can ignore.

I absolutely loved these two together. Ronan was patient, supportive, and willing to move at Evan's pace as Evan navigated feelings and attractions he never expected to have. Watching Evan embrace this new side of himself with honesty and openness was one of my favourite parts of the story.

What really worked for me was how supportive their relationship was. There was no unnecessary drama between them—they communicated, showed up for each other, and genuinely wanted the best for one another. The conflict came from outside forces, whether it was Evan fighting for a permanent NHL contract or Ronan dealing with unresolved issues from his past.

I also loved the hockey world, the found family vibes, and of course Bean, who was an absolute star in his own right.

✨ Hockey player x rock star
✨ Bi awakening
✨ Secret relationship
✨ NHL romance
✨ Found family
✨ Supportive MCs
✨ French bulldog sidekick

A sweet, emotional romance with great chemistry, lovable characters, and a relationship that felt strong from beginning to end. I'm already excited for the next book in the series.

Evan has is chance of playing for the NHL team the Coyotes in the play offs for the Stanley Cup. He has been always been seen with a woman on his arm, but when one night he spots Ronan Vale in his local, the singer from his favourite band. Well, there is something about him that wants Evan to know him more.
Evan from the start showed how determine he was to get a permanent spot on the Coyotes and I enjoyed following him on his journey, learning his regime to get that spot. Likewise learning how Ronan went about writing songs and how he was such a good dog daddy and Bean was adorable and it did make me laugh how he would go into hiding when things got passionate between Evan and Ronan.
Added to that following their relationship from the moment they locked eyes. Their relationship was sweet with Ronan whilst wanting Evan from the start, letting Evan go at a pace that he felt comfortable with. Being there for each other when things get difficult.
Familiar faces play a role in this story including Evan's best friend Colton, who introduce me to Evan in his story Blindside Lesson. Playing for the Coyotes, familiar faces also play at part and it was good to see Mason and Jett, Ace and Zoma and Lucas and Ezra. Glad to see that Mason has not changed, he is still has his larger than life attitude and Jett is still trying to rein him in.
There was on ice action and the tension felt real when they were battling on the ice. A good start to a new series and looking forward to more

For Evan the call up to the Coyotes in the NHL feels like it is the shot he needs to get his career going. He goes into a bar to have a drink to reflect and celebrate and meets Rowan, a rocker whose band is a favorite of his. He finds himself intrigued and then gets to talk with and spend time with Rowan and although he believes himself straight, he is drawn to Rowan. When they meet again at a charity event it kicks off them getting to know one another and Evan coming to a realization that he is very much attracted to Rowan. Evan wants things to go well with his shot to jump start his career but he also finds that he wants Rowan. But Evan is not ready to share his realization publicly as he wants to sign with the team and does not want his personal life to be a distraction. Rowan has his concerns as well. He has issues with his problematic father that he needs to deal with. I really appreciated that as these two men navigated career and family issues they did not let those things stop them from deepening their relationship and falling in love. They had good support from their found-family and they are there for one another. Their growth towards one another and through their life challenges made their story that much more.

Christie Gordon brings us back to the ice in Blue Line Collision, the first book in the Desert Elite Hockey series. This series takes us away from college hockey to the professional arena with the Arizona Coyotes. The NHL team that several guys from the Desert Hockey series joined.
Evan Crosby, finally gets his chance to play in the NHL. After years in juniors and the AHL he has his shot to play with his best friend with the Coyotes. When he goes out for a celebration drink, he spots rock star, Ronan Vale, across the bar. A chance meeting, turns into an unexpected attraction neither saw coming. Evan is working hard to prove himself and find his place on the ice while Ronan is world famous but lives a life apart from others.
The chemistry between Evan and Ronan is off the charts. The development of their relationship is so sweet. I loved how Evan was so surprised by his attraction to Ronan but rather than dissect it, he just went with it. Ronan is so beautifully fragile, it is heartwarming to see how Evan cares for him and protects him.
This is a wonderful start to a new series. It was fun to see a lot of the squad members back again, supporting Evan off and on the ice. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

This is book one of a new series. What a start! After reading the previous hockey series by Christie Gordon I was excited to see how this one would play out. The two main characters Evan and Ronan have vastly different careers yet they work so well together. Evan is an AHL player who finally gets called up to the big leagues for a playoff series run. He meets rockstar Ronan at a bar after celebrating the call up. Evan discovers he may not be as straight as he thought when he isn’t particularly turned off by Ronan’s flirty vibes. I enjoyed the fact that Evan’s sexual awakening wasn’t super dramatic in a sense and was just there. He was honest about a “panic” episode to Ronan but didn’t explode or freak out in front of him which I thought was an interesting literary choice not seen as often with MM romances. Both gentleman being in the public eye made their relationship dynamic more tentative. Both characters dealt with their own trauma and familial relationships while navigating their new romance. Overall, there was spice, hockey, musicians, and some twist and turns with family drama. Couldn’t have asked for a better start for the new Desert Elite Hockey series!

Evan has finally been called up from the AHL to NHL for playoffs. Now he just has to prove to them that he deserves to be there and if he is good enough, they’ll sign him for next season. So his goal? To be focused and put everything he has into doing well in the playoffs. But he never expects to meet Ronan. A member of a band he loves and for them to have such a connection. Evan has never been attracted to a guy before, but Ronan is different. And the idea of staying away and not getting to know him or be with him? Well, that may prove to be impossible. Ronan is was never one for a relationship, especially with his career. So imagine his surprise when he meets Evan and everything changes. Being with Evan can be complicated. Evan has a lot to prove and they can’t afford the media to find out they are together. But the one more time they spend together, the harder they fall. And it may just be worth the risk. Great start to this new series. A rockstar and hockey player may be an unlikely combo, but these two prove they are just perfect for one another!

"Blue Line Collision" is book one in Christie Gordon's the Desert Elite Hockey series. It's a spinoff from the Desert Ice Hockey and Desert Football series(s) and we'll see some cameos. She also sometimes tosses in characters from her overall worldverse, including Rock U and the Mesa boys.
Evan and Ronan meet in a bar, which is quite common in Ms. Gordon's worlds. The attraction is instant, which comes as a surprise to supposedly straight Evan. It would never work out, Ronan is a rockstar and Evan is a struggling hockey player.
Lots of angsty emotions. Yes, scenery gnawing, major. Ronan has a difficult family and past, gets put through the wringer. Evan steps up, supports him, which solidifies a strong bond. The spice level is ghost pepper hot.
The hockey scenes were rather exciting, a right fit rather than too much. Good secondary support. Between Ronan's band and Evans' teammates, there's lots of fodder to carry the series.
It's a quick, more often than not a fun read. Christie Gordon as ever. gives us strong, likeable characters and a story to set your teeth in.

“Blue Line Collision” by Christie Gordon is the first book in the ‘Desert Elite Hockey’ series and centers around Evan Crosby as he gets his chance to play in the NHL. He’s disconcerted to discover a mutual attraction to one of his heroes, rockstar Ronan, and then must juggle the fear of being outed in a league that isn’t necessarily accepting even though his teammates would be nothing but supportive.

This adult contemporary gay sports romance is the first book in the ‘Desert Elite Hockey’ series and is connected to a couple of other series by this author. I was happy that Evan has the potential for folks to support him as he faces such challenges in his professional and personal lives, but I’m sorry to say that I didn’t feel a connection with him. For a couple who wanted to remain under the radar, their behavior didn’t quite reflect that, and I felt that Ronan was deliberately naïve when it came to dealing with his father. Despite all of this, I think this introduces an interesting new series, and I hope to get to know some of the other guys in this corner of the world.

I have been so excited for Evan’s story since meeting him as Colton’s BFF in Blindside Lesson. I love that Evan and Ronan meet in Chapter 1! Evan, the straight hockey player who just got called up to the NHL, meets Ronan, the bisexual Rockstar who just finished touring. The chemistry between them is palpable and sparks are flying!

This was not a slow burn! Things heat up pretty quickly and continue at the same rate. It was hot, steamy, romantic & fun! I loved how easily Evan accepted himself and his feelings for Ronan. There was lots of characters from previous books and I loved getting an update on all of their lives. It was fun to see them all interacting again.

You could see the drama coming from a mile away and I just knew what was going to happen! But I loved how Ronan & Evan handled it, together! I really hate a third act break up so I’m always glad when there isn’t one!

I can’t wait to continue this series with the Captain & the team owners son! I hope we get to see more of the band eventually too!

The attraction between them was immediate.
The admitting to what it was exactly took a little time For Evan. Ronan, knew exactly what it was, but he waited.
To say my kindle smoked a few, ok more than a few times, is a huge understatement.
Being irresistible to each other yet not quite sure where it would lead AND keeping quiet about it was all a part of their growing attraction and feelings for each other.
I absolutely loved their story. How Evan and Ronan were with each other was both adorable and hot.
The heat level is off the charts with these two.
Their friends are super supportive but also give them grief, as true friends do.
There is one person I wanted to harm (throat punch) but since he isn't real, I had to vent to someone about him, so I did.
We get major attraction
flirting
heat
more heat
figuring things out
more heat
and finally love.
Also, amazing hockey play descriptions.
We also get to meet a furry guy who is adorable!!
Fantastic read and I look forward to the next one in this series.

This is so good. I love Christie Gordon's writing style and her complex characters. The way they are usually juggeling multiple emotional situations in life at the same time makes for a very interesting read. Here you have Evan who is under big pressure trying to make it into the NHL and the playoffs. His father has lots of expectations toward him and on top of that he realizes his attraction to a man for the first time in life. Then said man is a famous rockstar, something that complicate the whole situation even more. On the other hand you have Ronan with his complicated past and relationship with his bio dad. I love the relationship between Evan and Ronan and the way it progress. They are both so sweet, compassionate and very dedicated to their careers and each other.
Another big plus is the secondary characters, that I know from other books. The hockey family is supportive, fun and lovely contributing so much to the story.
A top notch book that I highly recommend to read.
