After a devastating fall deep in the mountains, Sarah awakens in a remote cabin hidden beside an endless forest.
Injured, disoriented, and unable to remember everything that happened on the cliff, she finds herself under the care of a quiet stranger named Elias, a man who seems to know far more about her than he should.
Beyond the cabin, a massive tree rises above the forest canopy like something pulled from a forgotten dream.
The locals speak of it in whispers.
The creek flows from its roots.
And somehow, Sarah feels drawn toward it.
As the days pass, the line between memory and reality begins to blur. Strange flashes haunt the trees. A black crow watches her wherever she goes. Elias speaks in half-truths, as though he has been waiting for her arrival for a very long time.
But the deeper Sarah is pulled into the forest, the more she begins to fear that reaching the tree was never a choice.
Atmospheric, unsettling, and deeply introspective, The Hollowed Tree is a haunting psychological journey about memory, identity, grief, and the quiet places where reality begins to fracture.
Hi all in the Goodreads world. I'm new to Goodreads and am still finding my way around. Thank you for having me.
I've been gone a long time. I've learned a few things and forgotten a few things along the way. I have a new book that I think outshines most of the things I've done in my life. I hope you will try out "HIM and I." (It is NOT a romance) HIM and I: A Story of Fractured Identity, is a slow-burn psychological literary fiction with some twists that many have commented on so far I hope some will try it out and like it.
Sarah likes climbing/bouldering but when she takes a tumble, the story takes a turn. She wakes up in a strange cabin with a strange man who is healing her. Turns out she's in a strange place where she will meet others and see a whole village of people like her. I think I had an inkling what was happening when she kept hearing the same noise. But I'll leave that journey for you. This one is a bit of a mind bender but I keep thinking about it. Well written, few errors.
Thus book held My attention and gave My imagination something to play with in My mind. I had thoughts about the various possibilities of the outcome of Sarah's journey. Now I'm curious as to what/where and/or when My mind may travel if I were ever in a coma. I'm in no hurry to find out but I can't help wondering.
This book was a great pleasure to read. The author went into such great detail you could see everything. The story had just enough mustery mix with fantasy that you couldn't help but stay interested. I won't give away any spoilers I will just say the way it ends answers questions but allows you to fill in with your own opinions
