Stalking Around The Christmas Tree is the story of Henry and Rafael. This was an amazing story with characters who felt real. The plot was interesting and kept me wanting more. I loved the emotions this story made me feel. The blurb is what made me want to read the story but the writing style is what kept me interested. The story has some dark elements that I really enjoyed. I loved the chemistry between these two. I also loved Huey the pet pig. I am looking forward to reading whatever Ashlynn Mills writes next. I would definitely recommend this book.

I liked the idea behind this one, and it started off quite fun. Then the main characters got together and there was a long, drawn-out section with sweetness and sex and I’m sorry but it wasn’t super interesting.

Extra editing could have come in handy - Henry’s blindness was conveniently forgotten a few times and the speech verbs/adverbs were odd/didn’t fit the situation often enough that I really noticed it.

It’s Christmas in March. Anytime is the right time for murdery boyfriends. In books. Not in real life.

I had a lot of fun with this serial-killer-romance series when it came out at Christmas, and was thrilled to see this late addition pop up. And as another reviewer noted, it got off to a promising start. For the first 60%, I was enjoying myself and I was happy to set aside some disbelief in the name of fiction.

But sigh.

Then they started sleeping together, and a massive chunk of time was wasted in endless rounds of sex that did nothing to advance the plot. 🥱

And THEN, almost like an "oh shit, there was a plot?!" overcorrection, any interesting momentum that has built up from the stalker/killer plotline came to a screeching halt when the author leapfrogs us past what should have been a huge moment - Henry finding out that Rafael is a - with a suddenly shoehorned in, tell-not-show reveal that

I was frankly already getting impatient for something to actually happen after wading through the endless chapters of gratuitous sex, and probably would have DNF'd after that reveal if it wasn't already so close to the end. But then, almost worse, was the... climactic confrontation moment, I guess? When we finally find out the specifics of what was telegraphed pretty hard irt Raf's sleepwalking, and he

Final verdict: 2.5 stars, rounded up to three since GR doesn't do halves and because I didn't DNF, and the beginning was fun.

But I'm definitely dropping two extremely disappointed stars for the last 40% of the book. 🫤

Henry lost his sight while arguing over Christmas songs in the car his boyfriend Travis was driving and they got into an accident that left Henry in a coma and then waking to find he could no longer see. Not long after Henry found out that Travis was cheating on him with his next-door neighbour.
Henry didn’t change his plans, his plans to go to the cabin for Christmas. He knew it would be challenging but with the help of some apps and his best friend dropping him off he was determined to go. Henry had started using an app basically you contact this app. You speak to somebody and they are your Eyes. They are there to help. And this is how he met Rafe.
Rafe had been in the army and as a result of his time serving his country he got PTSD and suffered with sleepwalking. Not just any sleep walking he would harm people, drive his car and even have conversations with people and have no memory of them the next day or of what had happened. He had got a restraining order against him due to his ex boyfriend waking up to find him holding a knife watching him sleep. Rafe had also woken up with Blood covering his hands he felt he was not safe to have around but he thought using the app would help someone so him and his pet pig Huey were there to assist. There was definitely a connection when he spoke to Henry unbeknown to Henry, they had actually met once in the park when he was walking his pig but Rafe was helping not stalking.
So this story has got a few plots going you’ve got the connection between Henry and Rafe. Then in the background, you’ve got the story of Rafe being a serial killer. Then there’s also the complication of Travis who is still contacting Henry.
so the connection, the connection was beautiful and the trust was there for both of them but we did lose part of other plots as the connection to these two intensifies and don’t get me wrong there’s a lot of passion in this book and they have chemistry that is off the charts. There’s some twist and turns along the way but I hoped we would learn more about. Rafe. It felt a little rushed.
I was given a copy of this book from the author and this is me leaving my honest review

I’m so glad Ashlynn released this book despite all the challenges she was facing because we would have missed out on an amazing story!

I read all the all the books in this series and loved them all. This one wasn’t as gory as the others but it still kept the whole serial unaliver vibes. A little tamer but still very on point with seeking revenge.

Henry was a talented artist whose life was turned upside down after an accident. When he needed him the most, his boyfriend left him to fend for himself with only an app to assist him.

Rafe was an Army vet battling his own demons. He suffers from PTSD and sleepwalks. He has no idea what he does when he’s sleepwalking but he always wakes up with blood on his hands. Somehow, he’s unaliving the people who tried to hurt him or those he loved.

When he meets Henry by chance, he’s immediately taken by his sweetness. So when Henry needs his assistance him with his day to day, Rafe is more than happy to help.

What was supposed to be just a volunteer job to help someone, became the most beautiful relationship between two broken people. Henry became Rafe’s reason to want to be a better person and Rafe showed Henry he deserved to be loved the right way.

I low key wanted Rafe to put Travis in his place for being such a jerk to Henry. He deserved some kind of punishment for not taking care of him after the accident.

Rafe was such a beautiful character. Even though he had his own problems, he always put Henry’s needs first. Despite being afraid that he could hurt Henry during his sleepwalking blackouts, or that he couldn’t tell Henry what he’d done; he always made sure Henry was safe.

𝓘 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓽𝓸 𝓼𝓮𝓮 𝓲𝓯 𝓘 𝓬𝓪𝓷 𝓫𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓶𝓪𝓷 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂𝓸𝓷𝓮 𝓬𝓪𝓷 𝓽𝓻𝓾𝓼𝓽 𝓽𝓸 𝓫𝓮 𝓪𝓻𝓸𝓾𝓷𝓭 𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓲𝓷. 𝓘 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓽𝓸 𝓯𝓲𝓷𝓭 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓶𝓪𝓷 𝓫𝓮𝓬𝓪𝓾𝓼𝓮 𝓗𝓮𝓷𝓻𝔂 𝓷𝓮𝓮𝓭𝓼 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂 𝓫𝓮𝓼𝓽 𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓸𝓯 𝓶𝓮 𝓱𝓮 𝓬𝓪𝓷 𝓰𝓮𝓽. 𝓗𝓮 𝓭𝓮𝓼𝓮𝓻𝓿𝓮𝓼 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓫𝓮𝓼𝓽 𝓸𝓯 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰.

I loved that Henry figured out the truth and instead of being afraid of Rafe, he wanted him even more. Rafe gave him the kind of security and love he never had before.

I really enjoyed this book a lot. This whole series was such a fun read.

I don't care if it's mid March. As far as I'm concerned, Christmas stories are good all year long and this one is no exception. Actually, it's really only a Christmas story in that it takes place at Christmas time, because there's nothing about "Peace on Earth" in here. I kept thinking I knew what was going on in the background (if you read it you'll know what I mean) but Ashlynn Mills kept switching things up and I was on my toys all the way to the big reveal - and, boy, did I not expect that! I guess I shouldn't be surprised because this author has a way of letting the darkness sneak up on you and it's why they are one of my go-to reads.
Henry and Raf - there's so much to unpack there and I don't want to slip any spoilers out but I will say that they absolutely are what each other needs. Henry has lost his eyesight in a terrible accident and is dumped by his longtime boyfriend. Raf is a military vet with massive PTSD, convinced he's responsible for terrible acts of violence, and trying to even out the scales of justice by doing volunteer work on an online app for people with vision limitations. The two men find kindred souls in each other and as they grow closer secrets are revealed that will either strengthen them or break them. Hint: Ashlynn Mills always has a HEA - even if not exactly conventional.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can safely recommend it for lovers of dark romance and morally grey characters. Will keep you guessing to the end. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter where you can read a bonus epilogue where certain people get what's coming to them! Bawahaha!

I love a good dark romance! Ashlynn Mills is one of my go-to authors for them. Is it weird to read a Christmas story in March? Absolutely not! Christmas stories are great year round especially in hard times.

Henry is an artist. He is in a relationship with Travis when they get into a car accident that steals his sight. What happens next is not a complete surprise.

Rafael, Raf, is a retired Army soldier. One night something happens to him and he has no memory of it. None of his army buddies will say what happened, they just turn their backs on him. PTSD causes his life to unravel after leaving the service.

Okay, read the trigger warnings. While hard things are mentioned, none happen on page for the most part. I really enjoyed this story. It is twisted in a good way if that makes sense. I think Henry is the perfect match for Raf and Huey, the cute pet pig. Raf is the loving, spoiling with attention type of boyfriend that Henry always longed for. For Raf, Henry does what needs to be done to take care of him. It just works for them. I think for me the balancing of the scales for what happened to Raf during the military is exactly that, karma/justice whatever you want to call it. I really enjoy reading books that have darkness and light to them. I hope we do get to see more bonus scenes from these two soon.

After losing his vision in a car accident and walking away from a painful relationship, Henry escapes to his family cabin to figure out how to live again. His world is suddenly unfamiliar, and the accessibility app he uses to navigate daily tasks becomes an unexpected lifeline—because on the other end of the line is Rafael, an Army veteran with his own heavy history.
What starts as simple guidance slowly shifts into something tender and deeply intimate. Their late‑night conversations, shared movie nights, and small moments of trust build a connection that feels incredibly natural. The emotional chemistry between Henry and Rafael is the heart of the story, and it’s written with so much care. The added tension around Rafael’s PTSD and sleepwalking brings a subtle thread of suspense. Strange moments in the cabin blur the line between psychological unease and something more mysterious, mirroring Henry’s uncertainty as he adjusts to life without sight. I loved how the book balances vulnerability with resilience. Both men are hurting, but their trauma defines neither. Their relationship grows gently and patiently, with a kind of emotional honesty that really stayed with me.

Despite having the word "stalking" in the title, this isn't your typical stalker romance. It's more "stalker-light" if that makes sense? Although there is still plenty of obsessive behavior on display. And I love an obsessive MC! Rafael is former military and now volunteers his time on the Be My Eyes app. Henry recently lost his sight in a car accident and starts using the app as he works on becoming more independent. Flirtation and an awkwardly hilarious situation lead to off-app communication, and you can guess where things go from there! Meanwhile, Rafael has some unexplained unaliving situations happening, while Henry has to deal with his annoying ex, who apparently only wants what he doesn't have. I really loved these two MCs. They work so well together, and I always appreciate when one MC helps another MC with self-discovery. There are a couple twists and turns, and my only issue is that they happened so close together at the end of the book. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the story, and while it takes place over the holidays, it's a great read any time of year.

Two Hurt Men Finding Healing in Each Other

After losing his vision in a car accident and ending a painful relationship, Henry retreats to his family’s cabin to regroup. While adjusting to life without sight, he begins using an accessibility app that connects him with volunteers who help guide visually impaired users through daily tasks. One of those volunteers is Rafael, an Army veteran Henry had previously met in the park.

What starts as simple assistance—helping Henry navigate his home and describing movies while they watch together—slowly grows into late-night conversations and a deeper connection between two men who are both carrying their own scars. Rafael’s PTSD and sleepwalking add another layer of tension as strange moments in the cabin make Henry question what’s happening around him.

I loved the emotional intimacy between Henry and Rafael and how naturally their bond develops.

3.5 ⭐⭐⭐💫

I enjoyed this for the most part.

I really enjoyed the relationship that built up between Raf and Henry, going from being his eyes to falling for each other. I also enjoyed the mystery behind why Raf was doing what he was doing in his sleep, and the outcome of that really did surprise me. I was also surprised at Henry's little secret when it came to Raf. These two were perfect for each other.

I am a fan of spicy scenes in my romances, but for some reason, after a while, I found myself skipping through these, looking for when the real story picked up again. I think in this case, the story part was compelling, but the sex part seemed a bit too frequent and pulled me out of the story.

I loved Henry and Rafael. Henry lost his eyes sight with a car accident that his stupid boyfriend was driving and he couldn't deal with a Christmas song and wasn't paying attention to the road.Henry tries the be my eyes app to find something and it works for him. When he found out his boyfriend was cheating he decided to head to the cabin early then planned for his vacation and he can still use the be my eyes app. His best friend told him that the be my eyes app guy is cute with the pig.. Rafael is trying to remember what happened to him when he was in the war

This was a great book. I loved Henry and Rafael and their wonderful connection and chemistry. Henry and Rafe and a deep connection as they were both trying to overcome and heal from their past and their traumas. I really enjoyed how they both had their own storylines and were able to intertwin them. These two were able to get a mush needed and deserved HEA. I can’t wait to see what Ashlynn as in store for us next.

Rafael is the voice on the App that helps Henry find things after he goes blind in an accident. He's kind, funny and has a pet pig. But there's another side to Rafe that no one sees, a bloody frightening side that is hidden except for when he sleepwalks. As the two guys grow to appreciate, enjoy and care for each other, Rafe fears hurting Henry or him finding out. It's a thriller with a sweet Christmas edge and a twist. Honestly, it reminds me of a thriller movie called "Wait until Dark" with their fascination with movies.

I love this book. So many little twists and turns it was hard to keep up with at times. I would think I knew something and it turned out I only partially knew things. Or I would be completely wrong. Same thing with the ending. By the time I got there it turns out I was only about 75% correct.

First I have to say this. Travis is an idiot and I couldn't stand him from the word go. Poor Henry has been through it, and at first I was annoyed by him cause it seemed like he had no backbone, but boy was I wrong. His strength is just not right in your face, it is a quiet strength and you really start to see that the further into the book you get.

Rafael is an awesome character. I love that has a pet pig named Huey. He takes the pig on walks which is just about the cutest thing. This is how he first meets Henry, on a walk with his pig and comes across Henry who intrigues him by his outfit of choice.

While this book does have some dark aspects to it, this is definitely a lighter read for the most part. That isn't to say to skip the content warnings, unless like me you really don't have triggers, because there is some subject matters that can be difficult to read about. Also be prepared cause Ashlynn sure knows how to write those spicy scenes.

In Stalking Around the Christmas Tree, we meet Henry and Rafael. He was recently in an accident where he lost his eyesight. Rafael has retired from the military. This is a dark romance but on the lighter end of that with some cute Christmas rom-com vibes too. Ashlynn brings the spice as usual. Raf and Henry have plenty of chemistry. Their love story is super sweet, despite the darker elements of the book. And of course, Huey the pet pig is adorable and now I want one.

I found this entire story and Henry and Raf really interesting. I was beyond invested in these two. I cannot begin to imagine the adjustment of losing eyesight and trying to go at it alone. Raf had emotional scars of his own but was there for Henry. I adored watching them grow close. I appreciated the naturalness and reality of what they were both going through and the fact that things were not always perfect.

I really enjoyed this. Was unique and fun. Henry and Raf were a bit sickly sweet, but it worked. Raf's sleepwalking activities were like a puzzle, the cause devasting, especially as they were a team. Loved that Henry knew what Raf and didn't care. Just a kooky pair.

A DARK POTENT READ I DEVOURED IN JOY!

One heck of a read that I just liked so much. Henry loses his sight, and his boyfriend leaves him. Raf is a vet with PTSD. I enjoyed their story and was interested right away. A read I liked from an author whose stories I enjoy. This is an ARC review.

Good Story

I'm rounding this up from 3.5. The majority of this story was very interesting and entertaining to read. There were just a few things that didn't work well for me.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

Brought together by circumstances, Henry has lost his eyesight and has retreated to a cabin whilst Rafael is an ex military officer who provides aid to the partially sighted.
When the events that occur keep them in each other’s lives, a connection forms that allows them to help each other and become more than friends.

A story with Christmas themes, darker aspects, a character with PTSD and a guaranteed HEA. It was an engaging read seeing these two characters come together.
