Baking for the Popstar: a closed-door celebrity romcom

Rate this book
I’ve been kidnapped by a famous popstar.

Well, okay. Kidnapped is strong language. Lukas Bachelor—professionally known as King—asked if I wanted to go home with him, and, unfortunately, I’m allergic to the word no.

Even when I’m not being propositioned by the most attractive man in the world, I struggle to hold my ground, so when Lukas brings me home, I suspect I’ll be giving him anything he asks for.

What I don’t expect is for Lukas to ask nothing of me.

The mentally unstable man only wants me to bake for him. And shower him in attention. But mostly…be myself in his vicinity?

I don’t really understand the rules of this new home I’ve found myself in, but so long as the King treats me like his queen, I’m willing to do anything.

Even fall in love.
~
This is a forced proximity, celebrity romcom with plenty of sizzle, yet none of the spice. Fall in love with he falls first swoon, and enjoy the humorous world of Sunset, West Virginia.

A Bunny a Day

Clara works for a caterer and while handling a special job, meets King Bachelor, the pop star of the bachelor brothers. King more or less strong arms her into going home with him to bake and cook for him. She doesn’t mind the baking and cooking, but she is so paranoid about everything despite how kind and gentlemanly King has been, she uses a bunny sticker in her journal to signify each day she has not been molested.

King, a.k.a. Lukas is just as messed up as Clara is and lives and breathes her attention and singular focus, all while trying to help Clara have faith in herself.

This story is less a romance and more two people working out the mental damage done by their families. It’s oddly soothing and in some ways more than sweet how Lukas and his family have gathered around Clara to help her to grow. This is a five star psychological drama that is wrapped in a romance. No spice at all, because that would be ungentlemanly.

I DEVOURED THIS.

I’m writing this review LONG after I finished the ARC because I needed time to recover from how good that was. You’ll laugh, cry, giggle, and complement ✨ why is life ✨ when the book is over.

Finishing this book was harder than break ups. Read it.

Oh my gosh, I absolutely love this series. All of the Bachelor Brothers are amazing, but I especially adore Lukas. The whole baking theme of the book was just perfect, and I lived for the Beauty and the Beast references.

He bought her books and even more importantly, he listened to her talk about them. How adorable is that? And her love for stickers? I just loved every bit of it.

The story between Clara and Lukas is so beautiful. Clara had been mistreated her whole life by her family, but she didn’t fully realize it until she met Lucas and began to understand what love truly is. Love isn’t demeaning it’s kind, patient, and caring. Lucas showed her unconditional love. He helped her see that her worth wasn’t based on what she could do for others or what she accomplished, but simply on who she was at her core. She was loved for being herself. She was respected. She was cared for.

I really appreciated how patient and gentle Lukas was with Clara as she learned what real love looks like. And I loved how Clara loved Lukas in return. They’re both imperfect because no one is perfect but they chose to love each other without condemnation. When mistakes happen, it’s not about punishment or failure; it’s an opportunity to grow and do better.

I also loved the family dynamic. The Bachelor Brothers welcomed Clara as a sister in a way her own brother never did. That found-family element was so meaningful. Lukas consistently put her needs before his own, not out of obligation, but from a genuine place of love and care.

That idea of being fully known and fully loved for who you are really resonated with me. And this story captured that so beautifully.

(I received an ARC for this book. My opinions are my own and only slightly influenced by the fact that Camilla is a delightful cinnamon roll I would never dream of wounding. Also, don’t come for my em dashes, I don’t use AI.)

The Bachelor brothers live in an idyllic small town filled with curated residents and businesses, with high security so it’s basically a giant gated community. Sunset is a mini utopia, and the Bachelor mansion its heart. So when a famous (and super hot) pop star who lives in the heart of paradise says “come home with me,” you’d be an idiot to say no, even if you are terrified of his intentions —right?

Clara is a sweetheart half crushed by her own horrible family’s treatment, and Lukas is a beloved pop star who craves attention and control to move past his own messed up upbringing. While their relationship starts on somewhat ….awkward footing, what with the whole half-kidnapping and all, what grows between them is sweet and real and relatable on many levels. I love the genuine respect the Bachelors have for each other and the way they rise up to protect their family—both biological and found. I loved seeing Clara blossom into who she was meant to be, and Lukas learning to tone down the parts of himself that weren’t genuine. As usual, Camilla creates a cozy and safe story world to talk through some issues that affect real people in legitimate ways. Her books are a cozy little dose of therapy, with a hug and a snack and a higher bar for all the men to jump over.

This sweet, brutal, beautiful book.

Flour dust, pretty blue off-the-shoulder dresses, & lilting baritone. Bunny stickers, trauma journaling, and so much loving care.

It is wildly uncanny how much of Clara’s struggles, her inner voice, her mother, could be me. Is me, was me.

I need a paperback to annotate all the comparisons & relatability in the margins & highlight endless quotes.

3.5/5

I was really looking forward to this book, and it both did and didn't deliver. There's a fair chance that part of that is just the headspace I was in while reading this book. There are times that Camilla's books are some of my favorites, and there are other times when I wonder why I like them. And that has nothing to do with Camilla's writing (she's incredibly consistent) and everything to do with the mood I'm in when I read one of her books.

For this book specifically, I loved getting to see our broken main characters start to find healing with each other. That part of the book was heartwarming. What I struggled with was some of the less healthy, obsession aspects of the relationship. This wasn't surprising given the backgrounds of our main characters, but it still made me a little uncomfortable as I was reading it.

Not sure if I'll end up picking up the last book of this series when it comes out. I have enjoyed most of the book thus far, but I may have to wait until I'm in the right mood to read the last one.

I have been enjoying this series about the Bachelor brothers. This book focuses on Lukas, who is the second-oldest and the pop star of the bunch.

While Lukas is portrayed as a narcissist, he is really sweet to Clara and prioritizes her healing over his own needs.

Clara's parents are emotionally abusive. While the Bachelors also came from an abusive background, it's more talked about than seen, whereas Clara's is happening in real time. I would suggest reading the author's note at the beginning for trigger warnings.

I feel this author does a good job at dealing with sensitive subjects and still keeping the overall tone of the book hopeful.

Lukas is a musician, known worldwide as King (hoo that is bold), and he’s just wrapping up a world tour. The moment he sees Clara, he knows he’ll do anything to keep her. Clara, however, thinks he only wants one thing. This is the story of how that works out.

If you haven’t been reading the Bachelor Brothers books (nice alliteration), I do recommend you start at the beginning, but you can still jump in with no knowledge of what has come before.

So, Lukas takes Clara home. And trauma recognizes trauma, but Clara doesn’t yet understand the abuse that’s been done to her. Quite frankly, she was a slave to her family, and endured daily emotional abuse, and boy, do I know how that feels. I also know how it feels for people to objectify you because you have a big bust line. Clara, sweetheart, I feel you, I SEE you.

When she first meets the rest of the Bachelors and their wives and girlfriends, she’s already seeing the difference in how she’s treated. But she’s been so conditioned to be the good little girl, never ask for anything, and always do what she’s told, to the point that her mother confiscates most of Clara’s paychecks to pay for Clara’s existence. And oh, the gaslighting. So much gaslighting.

Lukas is definitely not completely sane. He’s aware of it, and thinks he’s the brother with the darkest urges. He thinks terrible thoughts (been there, done that). But he is never violent with Clara. Nor does he ever take advantage of her. He’s there for her, doing what he can to encourage her so that she discovers who she actually is when she’s away from her old family, because she’s definitely never going back there.

As someone with bipolar disorder and anxiety disorder topped with the cherry of empathic introvert, I could identify heavily with Clara. I got therapy, asserted who I am, found myself a Lukas of my own, and have been happily married for nearly twenty-nine years, despite my mother doing her best to break us up. (She finally stopped trying after our third wedding anniversary.)

This book may not be for everybody, and that’s okay. For me, this story reminds me of how strong I can be, and how I’m always supported by my husband. Clara deserves the freedom to be who she is without fear of reprisal, and she gets her wish, because Lukas would do absolutely anything for her happiness. So get the book, or don’t, but if you like stories that you won’t find anywhere else, just start reading this already.

Clara is minding her own businesses, subbing for the catering serving crew at an after party for the popstar King, when suddenly...he's kidnapping her. Or, not really...but kind of? If only ""no"" were part of her vocabulary...then maybe she wouldn't be in her own room, in a castle, actually able to leave whenever she wants, surrounded by people who just genuinely think she's neat, and that the food she cooks is the best thing they've ever eaten. The horror.

I loved this. I mean, I love everything from Camilla, but this was super fun for me. I grew up baking for my family, and basking in the praise that only a well-made chocolate chip cookie can bring. I loved how Clara learned and grew and gained confidence. I *loved* how Lukas put her needs first, consistently, and held space while she healed. (Her own family was not nearly so...kind..as her new found one.) I began the book thinking I related to Clara - a baker with a few self esteem issues - but was a little dismayed to find out that by the end...I related more with Lukas. A bottomless pit of Pay Attention To Me along with a healthy dose of I Will Love You, and Only You, Forever.

Content notes - Clara has a body type that has been sexualized her whole life, and that causes her a significant amount of physical discomfort. Lukas is a self-proclaimed narcissist/egomaniac that is working really really really hard not to cause harm. Both of them come from a background of abuse, of different kinds, and are working to heal. Also, Clara's mom is just...rotten. Like, Matilda's Mom rotten. Mother Gothel rotten.

(And??? Look closely at the cover - the artist has captured Lukas's Phoenix tattoo on his chest so well!)

This is great for fans of forced proximity, he falls first, baking as a love language, or anyone who dreams of the materials and time and equipment to bake *anything* their heart desires. Also, found family. The Bachelor Brothers are adorable.

The Bachelor brother I am sure all we fans have been rabidly waiting to get our hot little hands on… and Lukas’s story does not disappoint.

We’ve met Lukas briefly before- rock god megalomaniac who probably should be on a serious cocktail of mental illness medications. Larger than life and sexy as anything, I was ready for an anything goes and off the rails personality, but it’s Lukas’s tenderness despite a tough guy exterior that wins our devotion in the end.

Clara is an adorably fragile mess who has yet to learn to say no… a people pleaser on steroids. She apologizes for living so much that it breaks my heart, because I, like many others, have been this girl at some point in our lives. That girl who tries but is always demeaned and belittled- told they are stupid or how you’ll never amount to anything because who could put up with such ineptitude.

Yeah, abuse has many ugly faces in its various forms.

So what happens when the girl who can’t say no is essentially kidnapped by someone who seemingly wouldn’t hear a no even if it was presented on a silver platter? Lucky for Clara it’s Lukas Bachelor who propositions her and is intent on getting Clara to recognize just all she has to offer by being herself.

Look, we’re adults here… we recognize the premise is a huge and glaringly red flag, but in a sweet romcom it’s an acceptable trope to be kidnapped (though here i’d call it rescued) by a knight in a huge tour bus. Take the story for the fun fiction with good self-worth tips scattered throughout like therapeutic sunshine it is and enjoy.

The only downside? We only have one Bachelor brother’s story left before the series ends.

This book was incredible. Clara is sweet, considerate, talented, and struggles standing up for herself and saying no due to her family environment and desire not to upset anyone (mood). Lukas is charismatic, cunning, astute, and tries his best to reach for what he wants (the man is obsessed with Clara, baked goods etc.) while fearing rejection (absolute relatable icon). I appreciated how the author handles topics like abuse, toxic family members, consent, healing, and growth with genuine vulnerability and compassion for the main characters. Yes I do despise both Clara’s family and Lukas’ parents, why do you ask? There were many lovely moments, great banter, tasty food, and I loved seeing Lukas and the rest of the Bachelor family from previous books surround Clara with love, encouragement, and support as she tried to figure out what she wanted and began to thrive. Also, I don’t know who keeps cutting onions, but I wanted to hug Lukas and Clara so badly and cheered them on as their relationship developed and blossomed the more they spent time together. Also, coloring in Lukas’ tattoos similar to coloring pages I had growing up AND cutie patootie doodles? Yes, please! If you like obsessed MMCs, delicious food, coloring-in tattoos, complex characters, found family, healing growth / empowerment, and sweet swoony forced proximity / popstar romance with no spice, then I highly recommend this book. I got a copy and these opinions are my own.

Clara and Lukas have a lot to figure out in their lives, but one thing is for sure: they’re going to figure it all out together. The author has a way of taking peoples’ trauma and hardest parts of life and turning it into beautiful stories of love and redemption that I can’t wait to read.

I love Lukas. He is a bit unhinged at times, but no matter what happens, he has only Clara’s best interests at heart. I loved seeing him take care of her and teach her how to love herself because he knows “it’s not her fault that she grew up surrounded by people who didn’t deserve her.”

Clara’s story could be my own in so many ways. I found myself highlighting passage after passage of the healing that was happening in real time as I read. For all the trauma in her life, she just wanted to be loveable, which is something I think most people can relate to. I loved seeing her learn to speak up for herself and ask for the things she wanted in her life.

The found family vibes in this story are IMMACULATE! I loved seeing the Bachelor brothers and their women rally around Clara and Lukas as they found their way into love.

This small town, age gap, celebrity romance is the 4th in the Bachelor Brothers series. It comes with serious content warnings, primarily around abusive families and low self-esteem/self-loathing behaviors, as well as frequent descriptions of a female body, and mentions of sex. Please review the reader expectations before jumping into this one.

I love reading Camilla Evergreen books. There is always an air of manic chaos about them; there is always a delightful lunacy involved with her stories.

Lukas Bachelor, aka King, one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, takes home a pretty girl, and all he wants from her is her happiness. He wants her to bake for him and to learn to say no. Clara Field has a problem saying no; her family have taken advantage of her all of her life. This is how she finds herself taken home by Lukas and given everything she could ever dream of.

I love Lukas, he is kind, generous and caring. He may call himself a monster, think he’s a terrible human being for getting everything he wants, but he has nothing but love and care for sweet Clara. He would willingly allow her to push him away if it meant her finding the courage to ask for what she wants.

Clara struggles with her own self-worth, something I can identify with. Unfortunately, her parents encourage this lack of worth (not something I identify with; my parents are wonderful people), and they have convinced her she is no good other than her pretty face and well-endowed figure. Lukas allows her to be herself, not just what she can offer him, although he is happy to indulge in her baking.

Watching both of them overcome their vulnerability for each other was beautiful and hilarious in equal measure.

Baking for the Popstar by Camilla Evergreen is a beautiful, charming, and gut wrenching book that you just CAN'T put down.

This book was simply that, beautiful. The writing is impeccable. The beauty of a Camilla Evergreen book is that she makes her characters DEDICATED. Dedicated to their craft, dedicated to their loved ones, and dedicated to their values. It's just beautiful.

🥐Forced proximity
🥐Celebrity Romance
🥐Cooking together
🥐Age Gap
🥐Found Family
🥐He protects her
🥐He writes her a song

These characters are flawed with a capital F. They each have their monsters and their own challenges. But the beauty of it is about the growth in a safe space, becoming yourself in a safe space. This book felt like a safe space. From each conversation, from each look, and from each decision, the MMC and the FMC respect each other, and that communication. OOOOOOOH the communication. I've said it before, but Camilla fills a hole that you never knew you had.

I will always recommend a Camilla Evergreen book, and this is the one.

Thank you Camilla Evergreen for the free book.

Loved Lukas and Clara's story.

If readers have author types, Camilla Evergreen is 100% mine. Her writing has such a specific brand that I eat up with every book she writes. I have loved the Bachelor series! The way Lukas adores Clara is so swoony, but the way he helps her find herself (really the way they both help the other find themselves) is so heartwarming. Definitely heed the author notes at the beginning! There is some significant mental un-health happening here as well as deep seated emotional abuse. I know that certain titles are what sell in the romcom market, but Camilla's books are so much deeper than what her titles suggest, and this is no exception. Expect complexity, depth, and a bit of darkness. Yes, this classifies as a romantic comedy, but cute and fluffy it is not. They both have to face their trauma head on to find their way toward healing. I laughed, I teared up, I raged on the MCs' behalfs. This was just really good, and I can't wait for the final book in this series.

We’re back with the Bachelor brothers! This is the story of Lukas, the pop star of the family and he’s just wrapping up another tour. Before he heads home though, he meets Clara and insists on taking her home with him. From his own trauma, he notices Clara is suffering the same fate and won’t take no for an answer when he’s trying to improve her situation. This one weighs heavy on the emotionally troubled scale out of all the Bachelor brothers so far (there’s still one more brother to go!) but it’s the one I was most invested in. Lukas is a closet softie and absolutely melts for Clara. With the right support, Clara thrives in the Bachelor household and watching her journey go through the motions is not as fictional as it seems. Closed door but still the romance remains and it’s exactly the feels Clara needs.

I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own.

Camilla, I love your works, you may write all the disclaimers in the world and portray the most disturbing love stories and yet I would still love them all, always.
I can’t help it. I am drawn to their raw realness behind them and I know it sounds like an oxymoron (we’re talking about fiction, no need to remind me) but spoiler alert: love is not perfect. Relationships are messy. Most people need therapy. I don’t want perfection, I want to read about characters who face real struggles, I want to hope that love may heal whether it’s platonic or romantic. That’s what Camilla does egregiously. I have nothing more to say, my praises are eloquent enough. By the way, if you’re looking for a heart warming closed door romance, this one may be the right one for you.
The main tropes are:
✨ found family
✨ he falls first and harder
✨obsessed mmc
✨ slightly less murderous version of the ‘touch her and you ☠️’ trope
✨beauty & the beast vibes
✨consensual kidnapping 🤭
✨ celebrity x regular person
Now don’t waste your time and give this book a chance, I’m sure you’ll love the other books in the Bachelor Brothers’ series, too.

Au revoir,

- sissi

I have always liked celebrity meets regular person romance. Throw in some fun he's helping her get away from an unhealthy situation, he falls so hard, protective streak, and his amazing brothers and new sister in laws, and you have a recipe for a book I will adore. As expected, this book was absolutely perfect for me. He's not perfect, she's not either, but together they are perfect for each other. Book 4 in the series, this could be read and enjoyed on its own, I think, but it's going to make significantly more sense in the context of knowing the other bachelor brothers and their relationship dynamics, plus they're fun books, so I'd recommend binging them all. I read an early version from the author, and I'm excited for everyone else to get access to the book soon! (I also can't wait for the youngest brother Kyran to get his story!)

Another amazing book! How the author does it, who knows? Though it does concern me a bit that she writes these abused, unstable characters so well. I’m in tears over how much abuse Clara has been through. My heart just aches for her. Even though Lukas has been abused and is narcissistic, controlling, attention seeking, he is at least self aware enough to try to do better. He wants to help Clara and is trying his hardest to curb his tendencies and do what she needs. “Obedience means nothing if she can’t choose it.” He wants her to obsess over him but he knows it means nothing when she’s this broken, shell of person. I mean really, who doesn’t want someone to love them with such dedication? They are both so broken and flawed, but together they are beautiful. I have so much of this book highlighted; painful truths, beautiful insights plus a few funny lines.

Another Bachelor brother

One line from Camilla Evergreen‘s author’s note sums up all of the stories in this series (and most of her other books as well!), but especially in this book:
“They fit together in flawed ways, brokenness calling to brokenness.”
Both Lukas and Clara had abusive parents. This abuse formed Lukas into a narcissist, and Clara into a docile servant/slave. Clara‘s pain calls to Lukas, who recognizes the same pain that he feels himself, even though he doesn’t know it at the time. He’s trying to improve his selfishness, but the journey isn’t smooth or easy. Clara is so easily pleased by the least little thing he does for her, and is constantly expecting the worst.
This is a heartfelt journey for both of them. You will finish reading this book with such a feeling of hope for everyone (regardless of flaws) to find his/her HEA.

Kidnapping....Light

The 4th Bachelor brother's book is just as good as all the rest. We haven't seen as much of Lukas in the other books yet, other than him swooping in and being fabulous occasionally. So it's not much of a surprise that at a party one day he sees a woman he can't take his eyes off of, and just, takes (*cough*kidnaps*cough*) her home with him. Let's be honest, aside from Viktor, they all would totally do this. At least he's doing it for her own good.

Clara, who has a problem saying no, just goes along with her kidnapping. And why wouldn't she, when he is promising to take her to a castle, give her all the baking supplies she wants, plus cute stickers, and her own library?

I love how Clara opens up and goes from a chronic people pleaser to her own fantastic person. I loved how Lukas showers her with positive attention and encouragement. Frankly we all could use a hype person who cares as much as Lukas does.

I enjoyed the ways the different characters start to deal with their messed up childhoods. I always like how Camilla's characters grow through her stories. Clara's growth through Lukas' love is really fun to watch. And it is so satisfying seeing her family get theirs. If I had been there, I would have been clapping in that moment when she is able to speak up for herself.

In other words this is an interesting mashup of some beauty and the beast tropes (even though they are both pretty), some Rapunzel/Tangled vibes, and a case study in dealing with childhood trauma.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

The emotional abuse and parental abuse was hard to read, but in a good way. It shows real life and the sorrows and trauma that some endure. People are full of all types of backstories that make them feel unworthy of love or unimportant. Camilla is always so good about including parts of people that may exist but aren’t often talked about.

I love Clara and even Lukas, even though they both had a lot to overcome. Their character arc was special and beautiful. Sometimes it’s hard for me to put into words what her books do to me and for me, but I feel like I heal a little each time. I don’t suggest they would be for everyone because they could be triggering, but I do enjoy that they are unique and speak to people that may have felt overlooked.

ARC review

This was perfection, I just adored it. I love her books and her brand of crazy, it's so good.
Clara had been mentally abused her whole life by her family and she didn't have any self worth, she couldn't say no and didn't a sense of self. Parents like that are the worst kind of trash.
Lukas saw this brokeness and wanted her for himself. He was broken too, him and his brothers had been mentally and physically abused by their parents until they died.
He was so gentle and patient with her, he never forced anything and was there for her even if she only wanted a friend, he was willing to do anything just for her to have a chance to break free of her abuse and be her own person for the first time.
They completed each other so beautifully and I was so here for it

Messy, Quirky, Delightful Romance

“You don’t have to vilify someone to understand that they’re not good for you. You deserve to feel safe. And if I’m not willing to accommodate you in that venture, you must tell me, so I can make efforts to fix it.”
I highlighted so much in this book! The characters are broken but their healing is, at times, relatable and beautiful and messy. The conversations as Lukas and Clara learn to truly care for each other are interesting and thought provoking. It’s not entirely healthy and gets intense and steamy🔥🔥
Camilla gives awesome expectations at the first of the story so read that if you have mental health triggers. Otherwise, read and enjoy 🩵🩵🩵 No swearing, No spice

I just had high expectations-
I read till like 40% in and I couldn't stand it. Perhaps it's Lukas's weird obsession and need for control- even though grant you he's sweet and kind to her- or perhaps its the weird fixation this book has with mentioning how big the FMC's breasts are and how they impaire her (it's not all the time but...) - it just rubbed me the wrong way. I guess nothing will ever measure up to Partnering with the Artist so perhaps I am being a little harsh?
I think some people could genuinely enjoy this dynamic- but I couldn't for personal reasons x

4⭐️ I really enjoyed this story! We saw Lukas in the previous books, but didn’t really get to know him until this book. The trauma he went through made him able to recognize the trauma Clara was going through before even she did. In true Bachelor brother fashion, Lukas brought Clara home with him right away to take care of her, almost like a pet (but in a funny and endearing way.) As she got to know the Bachelor family better, she realized what family should be, and began the process of unraveling the untruths she had been taught about herself. I loved watching Lukas support and affirm her, encouraging her in her healing by using tools he had learned in his own ongoing trauma healing. As always in Camilla Evergreen‘s books, there was a lot of found family support, and great banter!

So worth the wait for King! After the Creators Ball I was SO excited to learn more about him and I wasn't disappointed.

The humor was awesome, the healing journeys tender, the couple sweet, and the found family moving.

The teases about Kyran's story make me grateful it's only a month away!

Content:
Style - Dual POV contemporary romcom (strangers to more, celebrity, Forced Proximity/ kidnapping?, 10y age gap)
Intimacy - High (sharing bed, coloring in tattoos, just all the touching and talk about intimacy)
Language - None (a lot of “he swears” or “frick”)
Violence - Mild (slap, threats, past physical abuse)
Potential Triggers - parental abuse and manipulation

Baking for the Popstar is easily one of my favorites of this series.

Lukas is fully aware of his issues, but he can't resist Clara, whose issues complement his so well. So, of course, he has to ask her to come home with him and bake him chocolate muffins.

Lukas uses so much care and gentleness to help Clara. Clara is sugar sweet, and her inner monolog is hilarious. Viktor is a great big brother keeping Lukas accountable, but also making sure he's okay. The whole family is warm, and their unity is beautiful. All the little glimpses of familiar characters make you want to go back and reread their stories again. Also, great teasers for the next couple. Very grateful for this opportunity!

I always love getting to be a part of Camilla’s Arc team.

Something I love about this series is it doesn’t shy away from trauma but rather shows the ups and downs as characters recognize it and grow on the other side of it.

As Camilla states ever so clearly in the intro, there are obvious warnings and things to consider when choosing to read this book.

However, I really enjoyed it. I’m excited for the final book in the series coming up because it’s been so fun watching the family expand and welcome new people in.

Lukas’ perspective was interesting because you got to see his perspective of processing his own trauma and trying not to repeat it.

Clara was so sweet with her passion for cooking and baking and I was so proud of her journey.

Another impactful closed door romance from Camillaaaa.

I loved this book.
I'm in love with this book.
It was messed up, and chaos, and love, and sweetness, and devotion.
It was Lukas and Clara both fearing they weren't good enough for each other when in reality they were made for one another.
Lukas was real. He was self aware about his flaws and all he wanted was to be better for Clara.
Clara was broken and afraid, but she loved with her whole heart; she had a kindness to her that only they great can have.
And the found family. One of my favourite parts of Camillas books is the found family. It is pure love. It shows what a family should be, how they function and love and are just purely wonderful.
I can't wait for Kyrans book 😍😭
