During more than fifty trips to the island over the past twenty years, award-winning photographer Lorne Resnick has sought to capture the experience of being in Cuba. The result is a collection of moments filled with passion, friendship, love, and laughter. Those moments, exactly so.
Featuring over 250 extraordinary color and black-and-white photos, Cuba: This Moment, Exactly So provides a stunning portrait of the vitality of Cuban culture, the beauty of the island, and the enduring spirit of the Cuban people. This deluxe coffee-table book is organized around thirty-two lyrical micro-stories, each beautifully printed on translucent paper, by two-time Pulitzer Prize-nominated author Brian Andreas. Each story is inspired by Resnick's Cuba photography and Andreas's own visit to the island alongside the photographer. Featuring a foreword by celebrated author Pico Iyer and an introduction by acclaimed critic Gerry Badger, this lavishly produced volume is an ode to Cuba made up of gorgeous visuals that will transport you into the heart and soul of the island.
I loved it! It's a photography book with a love letter to Cuba from the photographer. The pictures are so vibrant, and they capture the passion, vitality and resilience of the Cuban people. I am first generation Cuban American, and I am so proud of this book!
Lovely photographs of Cuba, focusing on people and their joyous approach to life. The photographer, an American, has spent a long time there over the last few decades.
