I will start by saying I really enjoyed this book, but it is not going to be for everyone. The writing style the author used is very chaotic and often times erratic, which given the subject of the story fits and makes it fun. I liked it, but I also have ADHD and the thought patterns were not outside of what I often experience. It will not surprise me if some readers struggle with it. I will admit there are also times that the writing style can make the dialogue heavy sections of the book difficult to follow.
The banter within this story is amazing and I loved seeing the progression of the relationship between Zero and Colt. Please pay attention to the trigger warnings, because while the author does not detail Zero's trauma, it becomes easy as the story progresses to understand the issues.
At times, if feels like the story repeats itself, but I do believe that is intentional as we begin to understand Zero's trauma response and how Colt works with him to gain his trust. These repetitive conversations are realistic and often needed with trauma victims.
If you have not already read Omega Zero, the prequal, you need to do that before starting this book. If you do not, it will feel like you are starting in the middle of a story. Also, if you are not familiar with the omegaverse, I would not start your journey with this series as the author writes with the assumption you have at least a basic knowledge of the omegaverse.
If you are a reader that is pulled out of the story because of editing issues, this is probably not the book for you, the editing is rough. I can usually ignore these types of errors, but even for me, I found several times I had to reread sections because I was confused.

Apparently I learned absolutely nothing from Omega Zero because I happily dove straight back into the chaos, and honestly? No regrets. Omega Protocol picks up where the first book left off and continues unraveling the madness, answering some questions while naturally handing you several new ones because peace was apparently never an option. The story is fast, weird, unpredictable, and ridiculously entertaining, but Zero is still out here casually stealing the entire damn show.
Zero is officially my spirit animal. His commentary is LEGENDARY. The things that come out of his mouth in the middle of situations where a normal person might experience fear, concern, or literally any appropriate human emotion had me cackling. Sir, this is a crisis. Could you please behave accordingly? Actually, don’t. Never change. His completely unhinged observations somehow make the chaos even better, and I genuinely looked forward to every single one.
This series has absolutely embraced its particular brand of insanity, and at this point I’m just along for the ride. Give me the confusion. Give me the ridiculousness. Give me more Zero narrating the apocalypse like he’s mildly inconvenienced by it. Whatever happens next, I’ll be there.

When I read the prequel I was a little on the fence about this world but mostly in love. This book sealed the deal. Zero is the best, most damaged omega full of snarky coping mechanisms and Colt is an absolutely impossible bastion of patience and understanding (and barely restrained murderous intent) and the supporting cast, both supportive ones and evil villains are nuanced enough to feel worth the time it took to read their parts.
I particularly enjoyed the writing style, though possibly not everyone will. The short, clipped structure made it possible to really feel the frantic movement and pacing of the story.
Highly recommend if you want some laughter and aww moments with your dark dystopian settings.

that’s it?
I am confused as to why it ended where it did especially when learning the next part is about someone else. I have so many questions. I would’ve liked more explanation as to what tf was happening. Despite all that, it was still quite pleasant and enjoyable.

I absolutely loved the continuation of Zero and Colt‘s story! I was hooked after reading Omega Zero and was highly anticipating this one. The way Colt is fully aware of Zero‘s trauma and is patient with him even though his alpha instincts are yelling at him to claim Zero was truly beautiful. He was caring, devoted, and protective. The way Zero was able to accept Colt‘s comfort and let him in despite what he suffered at the hands of HVC had me cheering for his character development. He was witty, sarcastic, but deep down a golden retriever for Colt. The spice had immense emotional depth and added significantly to the plot, the suspense had me on the edge of my seat, and the found family was top tier. Overall, I would highly recommend picking this one up if you love MM, dark, post-apocalyptic romance!

I would recommend reading Omega Zero first. This is a dark romance, but it is also about family, a chosen family. Most of us have families, they come with the territory. Zero chooses his family. There is Rook, Mara and of course the love of his life is Colt. Zero is very snarky and I love it. Colt is laid back and very quiet for an alpha. This is a time where everything has been destroyed and they have to find how to live again.

First! I recommend that you make sure to read the (short & cheap) prequel, Omega Zero, so you better understand what's going on. Zero's PTSD-induced take on life in this interesting apocalyptic future has all the vibes of a cat given human form. He's only doing this because it's his own idea. Totally. Not because he's has to, no, he's absolutely in charge of everything... his biology, the situation, and certainly the alpha he has to travel with. Absolutely has to travel with. He certainly doesn't like an alpha, why would you even think that?! This whole situation is making him feel a little bite-y. Will this be a biting day?
This is a fun book–well as fun as post-apocalyptic can get, which is a lot more fun than you'd think!–and I thoroughly enjoyed reading Zero's POV takes on what's happening, contrasted with Cole's POV, which is... mostly normal... about what's actually happening. And if Zero's entertaining way of viewing the situation wasn't enough, you also get the joy of figuring out just what in the world is going on in this nightmare of a society, because the characters may or may not know, but they're not going to just let you in on anything right away. Oh, and be sure to bring your carry-on paranoia while visiting this world, because you're going to want it.
I would absolutely recommend this book, and look forward to the next one!

You will absolutely need to read the prequel Omega Zero to understand what’s going on here but it’s worth the read.
I love Zero and Colt, both together and individually! Zero is so chaotic and so traumatized, and Colt not only acknowledges the trauma but respects it and gives Zero as much control of as many situations as he can. I love the duel POV’s because I like seeing each persons perspective and thought process.
I really enjoyed the introduction of the new characters and the dynamics that they bring to the mix, both good and bad, and can’t wait to see how the next book ties in.

I read the Omega Zero as an ARC read and totally fell in love so o knew I needed to get my hands on Omega Protocol. Definitely not disappointed.
This is unlike any other book I have read. The writing style and snark in the dialogue was written beautifully. Zero (Elias) and Colt are my favorite couple and they deserve to be happy together after all they have been through. The suspense and banter all coming to a head when they FINALLY claimed each other kept me on my toes just waiting for it to finally happen! I love how this book balanced the plot and smut so well. Definitely a slow burn but totally worth it.

Omega Protocol is the second book in the Omega Protocol series. This series should be read in order as it follows an existing couple. We are back with Zero and Colt for more of their story. I couldn't wait for this book after reading Omega Zero and it was definitely worth the wait. I love these two and watching them work together as they build trust and feelings grow for each other. I loved the new characters and world building that went into this book. This is a story like none I've ever seen before. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book and series as 5 star reads.

Anyhow, I read this book without its prequel "Omega Zero", which made it sometimes hard to follow or understand what is meant. Even while I could enjoy the book nevertheless, I would recommend to read the prequel first. But if you cannot await, then just dive into it and follow their adventure right away.

More fascinating dystopian fantasy
I am writing this review so that all of the other feral little romance gremlins will be able to find this book just like Zero said to do. This is a great book that is probably unlike anything else you have ever read. The main thing that makes it that way is Zero and the way he thinks which affects everyone around him. So go ahead and read this series because it’s really interesting, but remember to hydrate because Colt says it’s important and he is right even if Zero doesn’t want to admit it.

I was waiting for this book as soon as I finished the first! Zero got me from then and I was ready to see them grow. I love the story line and how colt just lets zero be him! He takes him as he is and still protects him, lets zero set his own pace at figuring everything out! Zero has a chaotic way of thinking and I feel the author was able to really capture that in the writing! Overall huge fan ❤️ and definitely know I’m going to have to finish this series out!

MM Romance. Dystopian. Trauma. The best banter. Highly recommend reading the prequel before starting this book, things will be confusing if you don’t read it. Sometimes I wish there was more explanation, but overall a really good read. If you like funny banter that sidesteps trauma, this book is for you!
