A sizzling sports romance from NYT, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, International, and #1 Amazon bestseller Jasinda Wilder, this second-chance firefighter hockey romance will steal your heart and leave you swooning for more!

When personal tragedy upends the life of Tomlin Falls Fire Department Captain Noah Austin, he has no choice but to call his son, Noel, an NHL star. With his career in question and his private life in sudden turmoil, Noel leaves everything and returns home to be with his family. The small town of Tomlin Falls, Alaska, however, shows up to support the Austin boys in a major way, changing not just their lives but the whole town.

Years pass, and Noah finds healing in the passage of time, in his work with the crew, and in the companionship of his son, Noel, who decided to retire from the NHL and stay in Tomlin Falls as a firefighter like his father.

However, something is missing from Noah’s life.

It’s not until he collides with a beautiful divorcee on the ice early one morning that he finally starts to understand what’s missing. He’s just not entirely sure if he can let anything happen, no matter how attractive she is, no matter how alive she makes him feel, or how intense the desire she stirs in him.

* * *

Morgan Wheeler had lifelong dreams of Olympic gold. A star figure skater, with a dream in her hands not just once, but twice, only for life to wrench it out of her hands both times. It wasn’t all bad, though, because it also gave her the light of her life, her daughter Mallory, her mini-me, a 17-year-old spitfire who loves a good slapshot as much as she does a triple toe loop.

Morgan loves her job as a figure skating instructor; she loves her daughter, her home, her car, and her town. If you were to ask her what was missing, she’d say nothing.

Until she crashes into Captain Noah Austin early one morning. Rugged, handsome, broad-shouldered, kind, and beloved by everyone in the Tomlin Falls community, Noah sets her pulse racing and fills her dreams with a heat she hasn’t felt in a long time. Too bad she shut down her libido decades ago. Noah, however, wakes it up, sets her on fire, and helps her find herself again.

Lace up your skates and get ready for a sweet, spicy, and funny adventure in small-town Alaska.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a heartfelt romance about second chances and finding love later in life.

Noah, a widowed fire captain, and Morgan, a single mom who teaches figure skating, both carry emotional baggage from their pasts. Their story begins with a bump on the ice at early morning practice to an accidental FaceTime call that leads to an unexpected first date. From there, they slowly navigate the awkward, vulnerable process of learning how to date and trust again after years of heartbreak and loss.

What makes this story stand out is how real their journey feels. Watching them relearn intimacy, build trust, and open their hearts again is both sweet and emotional. It’s a beautiful reminder that love doesn’t have an expiration date and that the right person will see all of your imperfections and still think you’re perfect.

A touching and hopeful romance about healing, growth, and second chances.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the first book in the Relationship Goals series. It is a standalone hockey romance with a HEA.
Noah's wife passed away from cancer. Hockey has always been a huge part of their lives with their son playing in the NHL. When the small town comes together to start a fundraiser it's only natural that it involves hockey.
Morgan is a divorced single mom who had dreams of competing in the Olympics for figure skating. Now she's a instructor and has been put on the spot to perform at the annual guns and hoses fundraiser. While getting in extra practices she runs into Noah. Literally runs him over on the ice.
I loved this book. It had it all. Lots of spicey, swooning, and laughter. Mallory quickly won me over with all her spunk. Can't wait for the next book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Noah is a sexy 50 something firefighter/hockey player who has just experienced trauma in his life. Morgan is a self proclaimed perimenopausal ,single mom with a horrible track record with men. When they run into each other on the ice, literally, sparks fly that could melt that same ice!

Lord have mercy these two have chemistry! Major hot chemistry! They both have deep wounds and help each other heal in ways that could never be expected!

Their story is sweet, sexy, swoon worthy, and at times sad. But overall a great read! I couldn’t put it down!

Jasinda is one of my favorite authors. When she asked for reviews for her upcoming book, I couldn't type my email fast enough.

Too Pucking Old For This is a 5 of 5 for me. Love the characters and the story line. I even loved how The Badd Family had a cameo.

Can't wait to see what happens next.

I love sports romance, especially hockey and baseball. So this was right up my alley. I’ve read a lot of hockey romance and they have mostly been college hockey. I really enjoyed this version.

The Cutting Edge has always been one of my favorite movies and this gave me those vibes from the beginning. I loved that little surprise at the end.

The first chapter was gut wrenching. I loved how each of them were with each other and how honest their relationship was. You could feel their attraction from the get go. I also thought it was sweet how both of their kids just wanted them both to be happy.

Thank you Jasinda and Jack for an ARC ♥️

Widower
Single Mum
Age Gap
Small Town

Noah and Morgan

This is so refreshing for an older couple to fall in love.

Noah and Morgan have an attraction. Noah has not dated or
Felt like dating since his wife’s passing.
Morgan is a single mum who has not had a serious relationship since her divorce. She is runs her own business as well as bringing up her teenage daughter.

I thought the way Jasinda brought them together was handled well. The struggles Noah would have were also considered.

I am looking forward to more in this series. Thank you for the ARC. This is my honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book about Noah and Morgan. The main characters are both older and are dealing with the aftermath of loss and bad relationships. This is such a relatable books to the older readers out there and I loved how they are both no BS about communication and working on past issues together. There is no jealousy about the past that they both have, just a strong desire to have an open and honest new relationship. This book was spicy, funny and very well written. Thank you to the author for an advance copy to read and give my honest opinion on.

There are not enough words to describe how much I loved this book. I literally forced myself to stop reading and do something else only because I didn't want the book to end too quickly. Being a long time reader of Jasinda's I loved the tiny references to previous books but no way impacts your reading experience if you're reading this as a stand alone.

What's not to love about a super cute, funny, steamy, romantic, sports romance?
I absolutely adored this story.
Noah and Morgan are brought together on the ice when she collides right into him.
Morgan is a single mom and a figure skating teacher. She is gearing up for a big event in her small town. Performing a solo act after many years for a charity to support the fire chiefs deceased wife.
Noah finds it hard to move on from his wife's tragic passing after a brief battle with cancer. The charity hockey game keeps him going and his son, a former hockey star, has moved back to town to help out.
These two have some incredible chemistry when they finally get together. Even Mal, her daughter, ships them.
I really enjoyed this sweet yet spicy sports romance. It has a little of something for everyone.

A great take on a later in life romance.

The Wilders proved once again why they are wonderful authors. They give us two characters who have lived life who have had experience, but also need love in their life. They haven’t had it easy. They both experienced trauma. They have experienced loss. And it shows how that trauma and loss have shaped their lives going forward. I loved Morgan and the fact that she’s so sure of herself but also not at the same time. And then we have Noah, who lost his wife and isn’t ready to move forward, but at the same time needs to move forward. I love the way their relationship organically starts, and organically moves through the stage stages from start to end. If you have not read this writing duo at this point, you are missing out on some amazing stories.

I think Jasinda is paving the way to a new trope with this book; mature romance. Steamy love stories between two people who are older and have a lot of life experience. I am 100% here for it!
Fair warning: once you start this book, you will not want to put it down. Their chemistry is undeniable and the heat incendiary.

so good!

Noah and Morgan are made for each other. Both have a love of being on the ice. One is divorced and the other becomes a widow. Both have children that all love the ice. These two run into each other while practicing on the ice. After that they are I. Tune with one another. I love the crossover at the end, you never know when the Badd’s may appear.

What a great surprise this book was.
The author combined hockey romance with single parents AND mature characters!
The hero and heroine were so refreshing from the normal young, college aged characters were read about. They brought relatable life experiences, and I really enjoyed their stories.

Looooved it😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
So I wasn’t sure after reading the blurb that I want to read this book. Older characters, male character’s wife died who he loved so much. So I was like how on earth will this play out to be a good book. Well let me tell you something, it did surprise me how beautifully it was written and how carefully and wonderfully it was handled.
The spice was spicy, the romance was so sweet, best thing no drama for the sake of drama and my favourite no third act break up.
Yaaay🤩🤩🤩🤩definitely a re-read kind of book when you want something that warms your heart but brings the spice too.
Thank you for the brilliant author ,Jasinda Wilder creating this masterpiece 🥰

This author is an auto read for me, so I usually go into the books without reading the blurb. From the cover, I was expecting a romance, so I was a bit confused as this one started out and Noah was married, his wife just diagnosed with cancer that was already stage 4 and fast moving. What the heck was going on??? After the wife's death, they town did a fund raiser for other cancer patients in her memory, a hockey game between the police and fire departments, which made sense as Noah was the fire captain. We fast forward a couple years and the hockey game is one of the town's biggest events, still honoring the wife and raising money. This was very sweet and a way to get in some action and remember the wife.

The romance between Noah and Morgan was interesting. Neither looking for anything, but after literally bumping into each other, they are intrigued, leading to smitten and more. The thing is that both of them have issues. Noah's are easy to guess, Morgan's more involved. What I loved about these two was from the start they acknowledged the elephant in the room about these issues, often stopping to have "frank" talks and not shying away from talking about these hard things. What was interesting was how each of them was able to show the other how wrong they were in their thinking. For Noah, it was that his wife was always have a place in his life, they were together for decades and that was ok. For Morgan, it was that POS's from her past didn't have the right to clog her mind with stupid shit. It was a lot of one step forward, two steps bad, but the thing is that they kept talking and revisiting things when those issues came up again, which made their new relationship all the stronger.

I also like how both of them were with their kids and talking about things. Just as open and honest about the past, the present and what might happen in the future.

From the prologue to the end, this book had me enraptured. Noah had a heartbreaking loss right of the bat and didn’t know how he would go on. Noel, his son, lost his career and his mom. While putting one foot in front of the other, they both start living again. Morgan is a single mom with massive trust issues but finds Noah to be a decent man. She is in a struggle with her teenage daughter about hockey.

I loved the interconnected storylines of his hockey playing and her daughter wanting to play, but Morgan having issues. While I liked the times where Noah and Morgan talked and spent time together, I felt like that part lacked in comparison to the spicy moments. For two people with heartbreaking baggage, I felt like they moved at warp speed, even though they said they were going to go slow.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more in the series. Moving on after losing a loved one is hard and I wish there would have been more respect to that aspect. I love Jasinda’s writing and can’t wait to get Noel’s story. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Love this story about Noel and Morgan. Two older people in life deserve a second chance for true love. After an unexpected meeting on the ice, their relationship quickly grows into love. Noel's son Noah and Morgan's daughter, Mallory are both okay with their parents finding love again. I'm looking forward to reading Noah's love story.
