Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart?

Willow Dupree is done with love.

After catching her boyfriend in bed with the one person she trusted most, Willow stops believing in fairytales, kissing her soft-girl era goodbye. In her eyes, love is a losing game—and every man eventually proves why.

Quadir Moses was never looking for love in the first place.

Life taught him early that trusting the wrong woman can cost a man everything. Now with his own priorities, Quadir keeps his circle small and his heart guarded. His world is his daughters come first, his empire comes next, and anything tied to emotions no longer exists.

But when an unexpected Valentine’s night turns into more than either of them bargained for, two emotionally unavailable souls find themselves breaking their own rules.

The only problem is…

Neither of them came without baggage.

With past wounds and unresolved drama standing in the way, Willow and Quadir are forced to decide if protecting their hearts is safer than risking them.

Because the truth is…

We all have baggage.
What really matters is the one person willing to help you unpack it.

Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart? is a complete, raw, and emotional standalone urban romance about heartbreak, healing, and finding love when you least expect it.

My first Kutura B. Book and it did not disappoint me. I was over here crackingggg up. I love a good bestfriend Duo and Willow and Izzy had me cackling. But boy oh boyyyyy…this wasn’t all peaches and cream, it was definitely messy and emotional.

Quadir & Willow… Willow & Quadir

Lawd! This story had all the raw emotions you can think of! The kind of story that makes you wanna reach out to the author and just ask “girl where this story come from?” The kind of story it makes you wanna check on the author and ask “is your soul intact” because you can feel the heart and soul in every chapter? Like sis, you left your soul in the book, so I hope you saved some for you. Lol

One of the biggest highlights for me was the fact that both the FMC & MMC in the story had passed traumas, lingering insecurities, and although they were strong enough to endure, they were also just the right amount of vulnerable that was needed when they found each other!

Quadir.. My man my man my man! Seeing him in boss mode, daddy mode, lover mode, and beast mode made me love him more and more. This was absolutely one man that I would’ve accepted flaws & all!

Willow.. definitely gave homegirl and sister from another Mr. vibes! Smart, sophisticated, but will definitely drag a bih if she had too. The way this explosive love story unfolded made this book truly a masterpiece & a work of art!

The way these characters were relatable made this almost feel like a nonfiction story. I can’t tell you how many times some of these scene hit home. The fact that it wasn’t all roses and sunshine, made it that much better in my opinion! Things are not always easy & the pain between these characters just felt way to raw, relatable and simply REAL!

Now let’s talk about my ABSOLUTE favs.. Rhyder & Maverick are my babies. Being raised by a single dad, these beautiful little girls, wanted for nothing and their sassy little personalities enhanced my overall reading experience. I loved every time they stepped on the scene.

What I didn’t love? The fact that Kutura B has not promised us another book with Izzy in Black lol. Definitely putting that in the atmosphere because I love them down.

Absolutely recommend this one! It was simply an amazing story and shows the diversity of Kutura B’s pen game.

I think I may have to accept that I’m not this authors target audience. The writing itself is fine it’s just the story content. We have two main characters who are stunted and trapped because of prior betrayals. The real issue for me is that the people who betray them had shown signs of being losers, raggedy and just terrible so it’s hard for me to sit here and feel bad about either of them crying, complaining and harping on it. Like go see the lady because the two losers who crossed you are living life care free. The romance was just them having sex and hanging out some. I just think of you expect a romantic story of redemption and love after heart break this is not really that. If you like a more rugged rough around the edge MMC and a BBW FMC then this maybe your speed but if you want depth, real romantic connection and chemistry uhmm yeah .

This Was Some BS

That’s a wrap, I will never ever read another book by Ku’Tura B! How do you wait until the last couple of chapters of a book and then throw in some B.S in the mix?First, if Quadir is so in love, why does he cheats with not just one woman but two? Then he doesn’t use a condom to protect himself or Willow. Next, he supposed to be so bad but he can’t handle his B.M. Then on top of all that Willow goes out by herself and gets so drunk that she’s pissing and vomiting all over herself to the point where Kentrail, of all people, gets an opportunity to be in her space. And these are the people that I’m supposed to root for? Man, make it make sense! If I had of known that Ms. KuTura B was going to pull a stunt like this, I would have never purchased this book. I hate for writers to waste my time with B.S!

Whew… ma’am, I’m gonna need you to circle back because I am not done with these characters just yet. This story put me through every emotion possible, and I felt every single moment of it. The drama, the love, the depth of connection it all came together so beautifully that I couldn’t look away. This was truly a masterpiece in the way it captured relationships, growth, and raw emotion.
Now listen… I’m not even going to lie, I did want just a little more at the end because I have questions that need answers. I need a “where are they now” at least a year down the line, and don’t even get me started on Izzy and Black because there is a whole story sitting right there waiting to be told.

I gave this 5 stars because it made me feel something from beginning to end. It pulled me in, kept me invested, and left a lasting impression even after I finished. Any book that can take me on that kind of emotional ride and still have me begging for more? Yeah… that’s a 5 star read for me.

Too Open ended

I was waiting to fall in love with the characters, it never happened. Quadir wasn’t shit the entire book and we never got to see him be a good man to Willow. This wasn’t a romance book more like a humiliation kink. Her taking him back at the end without any real action is crazy. Her loving him being “enough” to accept him back after cheating on you multiple times is WILD. This disappointed me because Willow didn’t actually heal or learn much.

First off thank you for letting me ARC read! Now come to the front Kutura!!!!! Right now! You wrote this book like the rent was due ! I felt every emotion. I cried twice in this book! I highlighted so many gems that was dropped! This book was different but necessary!

Willow and Quadir are two broken people with baggage and trauma done with love but they find a match in each other . Now that man did upset me for a bit but he fixed it . I really love when men grow tf up and hold themselves accountable. They were both guarded and scared . I was just rooting for them. I just felt all the things ! You did your big one Kutura!

I loved this book down and this is one of this books where I’ll be thinking of this characters often and wondering what they up to now lol

Not really into the books where a character gets done wrong one time and then they just start doing the most because of it. I’m not saying go out and fall for every man but damn heal and move on. Especially when the author makes the characters stay with the person doing them wrong for so long for the dumbest reasons. This man been doing wrong basically since the relationship began the MFC stays the whole time, keeps going back, and then hates all men for her dumb ass decisions. Now I gotta sit back read how much she hates men at 30 for a majority of the book. Then after all that the new man does her just as dirty and she STAYS again. I mean wtf? What’s the reason for the book atp. She was supposed to grow and stand 10 toes down about herself after that first horrible relationship. I DNF this and over the MFC.

This was an interesting read!

Willow took me on a roller coaster. From her ex to her meeting the MMC. Then the ups and down with her journey of healing. I loved that she had Izzy. Quadir was a flawed for sure and definitely has some work to do. Over all this was a solid read. I laughed and I noticed myself in these characters. There’s no perfect path to love after being hurt.

Another one ♥️

This book had me feeling all types of emotions. There was pain , heartbreak , and healing in this story. I enjoyed the dynamic between Quadir and Willow . I loved the balance in this book when it came to the urban aspect of it with smut and romance added into it.

So much happened continuously, Willow. I was wondering when someone would come and take her away from all the disappointments she faced. Her mom was the real MVP and her best friend. Those were the people who stayed by her side no matter what. Willow got the ending she deserved. Glad that the author decided to stop with this book. Great read.

Decent but lacked growth and character development. There was no falling into love with the characters or between eachother. Their initial meeting wasn't charged enough for all of the emotional turmoil they both carried. The initial meet sets the tone in my opinion, especially if she's supposed to be someone who's enough to make him finally love again. I didn't feel the love between the characters at all. He cheated on her then tried to flip the script and make it about her ex being at her house- she pops up pregnant (after being told it wasn't possible) and takes him back with no real work and then it ends. No epilogue, nada. Storyline was decent, the execution was lacking in my opinion. I'm just waiting on the Slums...

Okkkkk. This was an interesting read but then it wasn’t. lol
Idk it was missing something for and I hate that because this is my first read by this author. And I’ve heard nothing but good things about her. But this book was just okay to me.

First let’s start with the MFC. Her name is Willow and we start off the story by her basically being stood up on her birthday by her boyfriend Kentrail. We then get the back story of how this man has basically been trash since the beginning of the relationship. The relationship started while they were in high school after they graduated she ends up pregnant right away. Kentrail of course talks her into getting an abortion and during this procedure they damage her uterus/cervix I’m assuming. Basically making it difficult for her to carry a baby. Kentrail is no where to be found during this time but of course he pops months later talking about how much he misses her and of course she takes him back. This is truly the start of their toxic relationship. Now back to the present time she finds her boyfriend in bed with her “best friend”. And apparently he has been dealing with since high school as well. Willow is heartbroken and decides love is no longer something she wants.

Now onto the MMC, Quadir had a tough upbringing. His dad was on drugs and also had a gambling addiction. He loses his job so of course everything falls on his mom. She does make a little money but most of that has to go towards her diabetic meds and paying the bills. So she’s mostly broke. Quadir’s dad then takes he last of the money they and claims he will flip and of course he loses it. This starts the downhill of Quadir’s life. We are back in the present Quadir has kids and a wife. The woman he married is a woman who used to be a stripper who is kind of the hood’s pass around. But her sex was so good he couldn’t leave her alone and somehow they end up with kids and married. Some crazy things go down that ultimately changes Quadir’s life.

When Willow and Quadir finally come together it honestly seems like it’s mostly based of sex. You don’t get too many scenes where they are talking getting to know each other. The one date we see they end have sex right at the beginning with no real conversation. We are basically told how their relationship blooms. Everything seems to be going well. But the. All of sudden Quadir cheats on Willow while at the mall with his old jumpoffs. Mind you he’s there with his CHILDREN! And I also notice that he doesn’t seem to use condoms. With ANYBODY. So he trash and not even careful with his health not his partners. Anyway he claims to feel guilt but it literally took nothing for him to step out on Willow even after knowing what she’s been through with her last ex. So many things eventually happens and everything does come to light. But I think what bothers me most is that Willow took Quadir back without a second thought, all he had to say was that he loved her and that he was trying his best to change. Mind you it’s been SIX MONTHS with no communication. How I saw it the situation was a mirror of what she had with Kentrail. Except this time a baby will be involved. Making it more difficult for her to leave if he messes up again. Which was disappointing because there was no growth. But at least she got the baby she never thought she would be able to carry.

Ultimately this book reminds me of the person I once was. Someone who just desperately wanted to be loved and accepted no matter what form it came in even if it wasn’t good for me. I just wish Willow had made that man fight for her and prove he had grown.

A Dang GOODT Read!!!

Past trauma regardless of what type is nothing to ignore. Never allow anyone to dictate or tell you your worth. Red flags are shown for a reason, pay attention. When a man wants you, he is going to put in the work and allow his actions to show. A person with unsealed pain will self sabotage. Remember when you point one finger, there are 3 pointing back to you. Lets chat!!

I’ll start with Willow. Her energy and vibe was it until she overthinks😔. She didn’t deserve how she was treated and handled by Kentrail. Shouldn’t no woman be treated the way she was nor have to suffer what she did an alone😔. My girl didn’t pay attention to the red flags at all. Ya boy was trifling and thought that grass was greener on the other side 🤣! He went from Ruth Chris type woman to a Sizzler chick🤣! Let state that my girl could and would handle business if needed and she played no games about her respect. Regardless of what she may go through, respect was mandatory 🤏🏾. Just like any woman, past pain will cause a wall to form and swearing off love. At least that what she thought, until she met Quadir. This man showed her with action and not just words. Not only that, the chemistry was 10/10 between them and let’s not forget the adult actively 🥵! But they why he handled her was so hurtful and wrong in all ways. Oh but my girl handled it the best way possible to where he had no choice but humble himself.

Quadir, was that 🥷🏽what childhood trauma that he held close at heart. His past was hindering his future and he had to learn the hard way. He wasn’t the man that asked for much only- trust, respect and loyalty. That’s it. He was all about his daughters (Rhyder & Maverick), his ole girl and money. This Man let it be known he didn’t need a woman but for one thing and after his trifling BM/Wife Teri he too swore off love or so he taught until he met Willow🤭. The way he showed her with action and then backing it with word was it for me. However, he had me hot as fish grease when he started being a typical man😒! What he did was a move for weak 🥷🏽 and that was something he was not but in my opinion he was scared due to that heffa Teri. Oh but when he had to tuck his tail, become humble and accountable, my guy became a better man for self and his🥰.
Now I’m not going to touch on the girls too much but please know that I love them. They are the father’s child but Rhyder is hands down that girl. Would love a fwd of her as an adult. She’s going to be a force 🤭!

Kentrail was a bum 🥷🏽. He really thought he could have his cake and eat it too. The way he did Willow was disrespectful - the friend though. Just trifling. He was selfish and only thought about himself. Oh but that karma happened quick and right on time.

Izzy was a true definition of a friend/sister 🫶🏽. My girl never took anything series and clowned at all times 🤣. Like her energy was at a ten and I lived it. Ya girl had Willow back Since the sandbox and like no other. From the positive vibes and the affirmation she helps build up Willow confidence. Every woman needs a friend that’s going to ride for them🫶🏽.

First off, let me say that this read was good from page one to the final page🤏🏾. Kutura is poppin out and showin what that pen does with this read and I’m here for it all🥰. This read displayed forgiveness, trust, accountability, growth and most importantly healing🥹. Honestly can’t wait to see what she brings next.

This book was absolutely everything.

KuTura delivered a story that felt so authentic I found myself side-eyeing my Kindle, shaking my head like I personally knew these characters, and talking to them through the screen as if they could hear me. The relatability was undeniable. The character development was beautifully executed. Their mistakes had me clutching my Kindle and asking, “Now why would you do that?” Yet that is exactly what made the story so compelling. These characters were layered, human, and emotionally textured in a way that made it impossible not to become invested in their journey.

And listen, Willow and Quadir had me in a chokehold. I rooted for them through every misstep, every lesson, and every moment of growth. Their journey felt honest, messy, heartfelt, and real in the best possible way. By the end, I found myself smiling like a proud auntie watching two hardheaded souls finally mature into the love they deserved.

KuTura has a remarkable ability to craft stories that feel raw, hilarious, and emotionally resonant all at the same time, and I absolutely love that for me as a reader. She never disappoints, and once again she proves why her storytelling continues to captivate readers who appreciate characters with depth, humor, and heart.

And I will say this with my whole chest: I wanted more. That is always the mark of exceptional storytelling when you reach the final page and immediately wish the journey had stretched just a little longer.

Congratulations on another dope, hilarious, and beautifully written read, boo. I am already looking forward to the next one. ❤️

This was an easy 10 stars for me 🤷🏽‍♀️

This was hands down one of those books that grabs you by the emotions and does NOT let go.

Let me just say this my girl Kutura really stepped out of her usual lane with this one, and it paid OFF. You can feel the growth, the risk, and the intention behind every page. The storytelling is raw, unfiltered, and deeply relatable in a way that hits different.

Willow and Quadir!!!’ Lawwwdddd whew. These aren’t your typical romance characters. They’re guarded, wounded, and real. Their chemistry isn’t just about attraction it’s about healing, timing, and whether two broken people can actually choose love despite everything they’ve been through. That tension was PERFECTLY done.

What really stood out is how the book doesn’t romanticize pain it respects it. The baggage, the trust issues, the emotional walls… it all feels authentic. And instead of rushing into a fairytale ending, the story makes you sit in the discomfort, the vulnerability, and the growth. That’s what makes it powerful.

But girl that lil Valentine’s part was very unexpected, messy, and exactly what the story needed to push both characters out of their comfort zones.

My girl didn’t just write a romance book she delivered a whole emotional experience. This book is about heartbreak, healing, accountability, and learning that love isn’t always soft it’s sometimes scary, complicated, and worth the risk anyway.

Kutura if this you stepping into something different, I NEED more of this energy. You nailed it. Period.

3.5 star read Great story...

First time reader of this author. The book was definitely entertaining and keep me engaged. my main issue...was the healing part...there was none...there intial meeting...was crazy work...but I understood it..they both were not looking for no commitment..and I was rocking with the spending time and him finally making him her girl...but Willow is kinda a simp for love...she got drunk way too much in her feelings...I dont see how the heaux functioned and Quadir was just as disrespectful as her Kentrail....the only reason he came after her was bc she was pregnant for him...and now I am supposed to believe he is a changed man...she forgave all his disrespectful shit in 5 min...I just felt a bigger conversation at the least should have been had...bc he did her so wrong...he a selfish man and want her all to himself but gives the business to two dirtiest heauxs in a bathroom and feels bad but no bad enough to acknowledge what he has done until he gets caught in the act. Willow got stomped on and she was the only one with a heart that needed saving...I still feel bad here....I thought it was a great story..but felt rushed at the end..

Scared to Love, Bold Enough to Try

A street romance with real depth, not just vibes.

Quadir’s growth? Heavy. That man was carrying heartbreak and still stood ten toes for his daughters like it was nothing to play about. Real provider, real protector, real consistency… not just talking love but showing it in every move. And Willow? Whew. She was every woman who got lost in the wrong man and had to rebuild from the ground up. But baby, she didn’t just bounce back… she leveled up. Soft, strong, and standing in her purpose without folding.

Teri… a whole problem. The worst type of woman and a deadbeat mom. Every time she showed up, it was straight chaos.

Quadir and Willow finding their way back to love wasn’t easy. Two people who strayed from it, scared to try again, still fell hard when it became real. And I loved that the storyline kept me guessing without doing too much.

Overall, this wasn’t just about finding love… it was about choosing it again after life tried to convince you it wasn’t for you. Raw, emotional, and real in all the right ways. Definitely a solid read that sticks with you.

Anybody wanna buy my heart….come pick me up off the floor😩

KuTura, twin, my good sis! You wrote the HELL out of this book. This was an AMAZING read and I loved every bit of it. This story gives all of the feels. Love, friendship, heartbreak and real life from souls that have been scorned and messed up in the past but come together full circle when they meet each other. Whether they’re ready for it or not.

Willow, my girl went through it. And as much as I wanted to round house kick Kentrail in his throat, baby sometimes we gotta kiss a few frogs before we get to our thugged out prince😝.

Quadir, Big Q, Qmaaannn, QDaddy! Gave everything he was supposed to, even if did almost fumble the bag. He got it together and put some respect on my girls name. Im still laid out of the floor swooning!!!❤️❤️❤️ (Somebody help me up).😂

Chile just go read it! Because my sis did her thing. Aint no if and or buts about it. 10/10 highly recommend. Thangyaaaa🤏🏾

Emotionally Charged

If you love a second-chance-at-love story between two people who swore they were done with relationships, Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart is definitely for you.
Willow shuts her heart down after years of disrespect from her ex—only to catch him cheating on her with her best friend on her 30th birthday, with infertility thrown in her face as the excuse. Quadir is carrying abandonment trauma and betrayal from a marriage that literally left him fighting for his life. So when they meet, neither of them is looking for love… but their connection keeps pulling them back together.
I really enjoyed how Arthur Kutura B handled the emotional healing, trust issues, and slow rebuilding of love between two guarded people. This story gives single dad energy, teacher × parent connection, surprise pregnancy, and a beautiful healing arc. Highly recommend! 📚✨

I loveeee watching two emotionally unavailable people fall in love…like it’s just something about love smacking mfs in the face that I can’t get enough of. Willow and Quadir both got done dirty by their exes, and they’re avoiding healing by using sex…until they run into each other. Feelings QUICKLYY escalated…especially once Willow got her back blown out. I LOVED both MC’s and the whole book had me rooting for them. And the side characters? Hilarious. We all know a couple like Izzy & Black. If I’m not mistaken, this book takes place in the Slums universe too! (Shad & dusty ass Kentrail HAVE to be cousins)

Flowers are very much in order for Ms. Kutura B!! If she hasn’t told me she JUST started writing adult urban fiction last year, I wouldn’t believe it. Her pen is INSANE and so is her ability to write these crazy characters! Willow & Quadir had me giggling and rubbing my feet together

Addictive but messy!

Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart? really pulled me in with Willow and Quadir. Neither of them were perfect, both carrying the damage from past relationships while trying to figure out how to love each other without losing themselves in the process.
But Quadir… sir, did you really have to fumble that badly? You came through in the end, but the amount of times you had me frustrated and wanting to shake some sense into you 😩
And Willow, I’m so glad you found yourself again and finally got the life and love you wanted, but whew… the things you had to go through to get there hurt.
The twists in this book just kept coming too. Every time I thought I knew where things were heading, another turn had me hooked right back in. Emotional, messy, frustrating, addictive reading.

Willow and Q two people that have been beyond hurt and fell for each other . I actually enjoyed this book because it showed when you have been hurt and haven’t fully let go of your hat trauma even if you find the one you can sabotage a good thing . W know he made me mad and at one point I felt Willow deserved better . But reading fully and knowing what they both went through and Q’s mom giving him the real . This story showed healing is very important and also GOD HAS THE FINAL SAY ! I’m not even gone hold yall. I need a lil novella or something for an update on them . To make sure they got some real act right

Overall this story was decent.

We have Willow and Quadir who high have been done by love by the people who were supposed to love them. Once they meet we as readers go on a journey to see if both of their hearts can heal.

While I did like the story, I wanted just a little bit more of a deeper connection between the main characters. Maybe shown them on dates or even them having more deep meaningful conversations about their hurt and pain. Sometimes it felt like lust took over and that’s how they fell in love.

Also the ending to me could’ve ended with a much cleaner ending and not leaving me as a reader with more questions.
