Amara Whitmore has always lived between worlds, raised with privilege, discipline, and expectation, yet drawn to something deeper she can’t quite name. Focused, intelligent, and guarded, she believes her future is already mapped out… until one moment, one man, shifts everything.
Kairo Summers is the kind of man people warn you about. Powerful. Calculated. Feared. A man shaped by the streets and loyal to them, until Amara walks into his life and challenges everything he thought he knew about love, control, and destiny.
Their connection is instant. Forbidden. Unavoidable.
As enemies close in and buried secrets rise to the surface, Amara is forced to choose between the life she was raised for and the man who owns her heart. And Kairo must decide if loving her means walking away… or burning everything down to keep her. Because once the streets touch you, they don’t let go easy. And love? Love doesn’t come gentle. It comes with consequences.
There is really only one thing that I disliked about this book. It’s told from an omniscient point of view. And it kind of throws the book. While there is dialogue the omniscient point of view makes it awkward. It is a great book. It is long but it moves rather fast. Lastly the omniscient point of view lends itself to so many questions that were still never answered. Did he cheat with Dior? Overall, good read, though.
I was nervous at first since the book didn’t have any reviews but This book was good and steady. Lengthy but worth it. Just enough love and street to keep me pulled in.
