Erica Jade is the author of Never Yours, a gripping dark Mafia romance. When she’s not writing, Erica enjoys binge-watching TV shows with her husband and their French bulldog, Ellie. She cherishes quality time with her husband and their three children. Erica has a deep love for all things horror, an insatiable appetite for tacos, and an ever-growing collection of books to fuel her reading obsession. Whether she’s diving into a spine-chilling horror flick or savoring her favorite tacos (yes, they’re worth mentioning twice), Erica’s passions always find their way into her vibrant and dynamic storytelling.
There are expectations, and then reality... The reality is this book had me on the edge of my seat, and then it blew me away with that plot twist 🤯
I absolutely loved these characters! Erica wrote them so intricately and they are so intertwined from the beginning.
The story starts off following Grace, who leaves home to go to university, but also to find her dad... When she meets him, things get tangled and she is taken and used as a pawn.
Damián becomes obsessed with Grace as soon as he sets eyes on her. The dichotomy of her character, and where she meets him have him curious at first and then leveraging the situation to suit his needs.
Damián and Grace are very much opposites but their chemistry and everything about them is just utter perfection. His dark to her light, his depravity to her innocence it's a giant ball of contradictions that had me so obsessed, I became somewhat sleep deprived.
As much as Damián is portrayed as a cartel leader who would do anything for money and power, he is also a gentleman... Hear me out 😂 he wanted her to beg, wanted her innocence but at some point, he didn't want to take advantage of her... he started falling for her long before they actually had sex.
When Damián started calling her "mi reina" 🫠🫠🫠 I knew he was done for and honestly so was I 😂
All I'm saying is GO READ IT!!!
Rating: GOD TIER ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👑 (yes, that's a thing now) Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
An MC, a Mexican cartel, and a small-town good girl… honestly, how could I not read this?
This is the first book set in this world, and if this is just the beginning, I already know I’m going to be obsessed with whatever comes next.
With found family and forced proximity, the story is packed with tension, passion, and that addictive pull that makes you say “just one more chapter”… until suddenly it’s 2 a.m.
Damián and Grace were such compelling characters. Their growth, the complicated relationships around them, the emotional tension, the chemistry… everything builds so well and keeps you completely invested in their journey.
This was my first book by this author, but after this? It definitely won’t be my last.
🔥 If you love intense romance, dangerous worlds, and characters you can’t stop thinking about — add this to your TBR.
Gah what can I say? This book was addicting from the very beginning! I absolutely loved the dynamic between Grace and Damián. But also the dynamics between Grace and the family she's been searching for. There are already some side characters that I hope to see again in the coming books! 20/10 recommend reading this book!!
A morally black MMC in a dark, captor romance that has both mafia and MC?? Yes please!
Damián is exactly the man you love to hate and hate to love. He's deranged and dangerous but also absolutely delicious. He knows just how powerful he is and makes sure everybody else knows too.
Grace is a sweet, smalltown girl who sets off to find her father and instead finds herself in the middle of worlds she couldn't have imagined.
This amazing is the start of a new series where each book will follow different members of the family and I can't wait to see who we get to enjoy next.
Hello, hello, my girly girls! New day, new review!
Phew, I don’t know where to start. It’s been a complete rollercoaster of emotions, a memorable and unforgettable read. Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down.
Our characters are polar opposites, like the moon and the sun, or light and darkness. Grace, a young woman wanting to find her father, ventures into what you might call a dangerous world. There, our male lead meets her and becomes obsessed with her innocence. Do you not find that sometimes you can have a love-hate relationship with certain characters? Because that’s exactly what happened to me with Damian, a dominant, possessive man who’s clear about what he wants to possess, but come on. A couple of times I felt like throwing a punch at him, but phew, the moment he opened his mouth, he had me melting for him all over again.
Our FMC, the sweetest, most innocent little thing I’ve ever read about, but with a tiny touch of darkness waiting to be unleashed by the right person. With her, I really enjoyed watching her grow, although at times I would have liked her to be a bit more tenacious, a bit firmer with our MMC. To make him beg for her just a little.
📍Do I recommend it?
Honestly, bestie, my question is why haven’t you added this book to your TBR yet?👀🤭
This book was a fast-paced read, with characters who are completely different from one another. Let’s call it the ‘good girl and bad boy’ type. Of course, it carries the dark themes we often find in dark romance, blended perfectly with elements of the mafia and MCs.
So, bestie, don’t wait any longer and rush to pre-order your copy of “His Grace” and, when you’ve got it, come back and tell me.
📍Possessive and obsessive men, or quiet ones who are just as obsessive?
His Grace, by Erica Jade, is book one in the Filthy Wicked Gods series. This book explores the dark bond between a dangerous cartel leader and an innocent young woman caught in his orbit. There is a thin line between control and obsession.
The book focuses on Damian and Grace. Damian Lazaro is the ruthless heir to a criminal empire, and Grace Gentry is the naive university student whose life is upended by the sudden discovery of her father and his background. For Damian, his obsession with Grace is not merely romantic but a part of his need to dominate. He attempts to strip away her identity and reshape her into the embodiment of his desires. Grace tries to navigate the desires formed while in captivity. Using material comfort and a luxe lifestyle as tools of control blurs the lines of control.
Damian shifts between terrifying cruelty and tenderness, throwing Grace off balance. Grace has had a sheltered life, and the discovery of her father, his background, and now Damian, causes her to latch onto her former self, but her urge to rebel only lures her back in.
I normally don’t explore mafia or Motorcycle Club books, but reading the blurb, I had to give it a shot. I’m glad I did. The book was a thicccck one, but it flowed nicely and kept me engaged. Also, the spice was pretty nice! I look forward to more books in this series!
Thanks to Erica Jade for gifting me an eARC of His Grace. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Absolute jaw drop, surprised and exceeded my expectations. And from where I started and wondering where this was going, I was left in absolute awe!! There are some parts that I wasn't sure would be my thing......well I may have unlocked a new kink or two!
Damián is head of the Mexican Cartel, he doesn't do feelings, I mean he has no heart. But, if torture and blood shed is required, he well and truly exceeds. But, with her, His Grace, he has that softer side, one of my favourites tropes.
Grace is so strong as our FMC, and after finding herself kidnapped by Damián after just meeting her birth father (who just happens to be the president of a motorcycle club) as payback for him not repaying his debt, our virgin FMC is tested in more ways than you could imagine. However, it also allows her to be whom she truly is, and not what she has been or thought she should be. How she is with Damián is everything, but nothing comes easy and they are tested at every turn.
Erica, I am in literal awe of this book. I initially thought WTF as I begun reading this but I was thrown back into my chair with some serious g force, my heart squeezed, and all the emotions felt. It tested my limits but did not have me shying away, I absolutely loved this book. But, dearest reader, this is not for the faint of heart, so read those trigger warning. Oh and let's not forget this will have you wanting more in this series, and I am here for it!!
I devoured this book in one sitting and was absolutely gutted when it ended. That is definitely the sign of a 5 star read 🌟.
We have a delicious and dangerous MMC Damian, and a small town good girl FMC Grace.
When Grace sets out in search of her father, the last thing she expects is to end up falling into a world of tattooed bikers and drug deals with the Mexican Cartel.
When Damian sets eyes on her he claims her as his and god help anyone who tries to stop him or touch her after this moment. Damian is a man of power used to getting everything he wants, using women and then spitting them out without a second thought.
The chemistry between Grace and Damian is electric, and the growth of their connection is incredible. Grace really does rise to be the queen he needs by his side, and she may have fallen for the devil, but I see a softer side to him, that he reserves only for her. I mean the aftercare is EVERYTHING!!
This couple have quickly become one of my true power couples and I hope we see more of them 🖤
His Grace is book 1 in the Filthy Wicked Gods series.
This is not your typical romance: there aren't a lot of feelings, or sweet moments. There's obsession, there's craving, there's control. This is on the darker side of romance, especially in how the love is showed.
The contrast between sheltered, sweet Grace and cartel enforcer Damian is clear from page one, and it made for a compelling story of finding common ground, but also letting go of preconceived notions and just accept the other.
The plot was intriguing, with some unexpected twists and turns. The MC made for an interesting background of the story, and an exciting pool of candidates for the next books in the series.
There's plenty of tension in the story, and the spice was intense and a deserved culmination of all the yearning.
Overall, this was a very satisfying read, and a great start for a new series that I'll be sure to follow.
I wish I could go back and read that again for the first time. This book is delicious. I held my breath, gasped, kicked my feet and got utterly lost in this world. An MC Princess and a Cartel Prince. Good gravy. I’m drooling. It’s spicy and thrilling. I absolutely love Damián. Morally black and a bit deranged. Tons of ott/touch her and 🪦 energy. Grace is the perfect FMC. She grows so much. Turning into the Queen he needs by his side. Their chemistry is electric. They are wonderful together. Dark and absolutely perfect. I needed this so much more than I needed sleep. I couldn’t put it down. I am absolutely obsessed. Erica writes age gap so well. She has made it one of my favorite tropes. I hadn’t realized how good it could be. Thank you for that Lady!!!! I am so unbelievably excited about what comes next. It’s going to be one hell of a ride! 10 ⭐️ 3.5🌶️
This was a motorcycle meets cartel Damián Lázaro the cartel prince captures Grace Gentry the mc princess. I loved how Erica wove the religious aspects into his life, totally unconventional and his warped way of thinking made this delicious. I loved this man in all his obsession for Grace. There was lots of character growth for Grace from the naïve, timid girl setting out to find a father she never meet. She winds up between both the mc and the cartel when she is taken. Him speaking Spanish HOT. I hope we get to see more of the secondary characters not just from the cartel side but also the MC side as well I am a big fan of the silent broody type.
Age Gap (32/18 14 years) Virgin FMC Obsessed MMC Motorcycle Club x Cartel Captor/Captive Touch Her And & He Speaks To Her In Spanish Religious Undertones
Oh my LORD! This is one that you need. I have been singing its praises since about 40% into the book.
How Erica portrays these characters is captivating. I really enjoyed how she mixed MC in with Cartel, you get to read aspects from both “worlds”.
Damiàn is cartel leader also called El Sombra. He is a decadent mixture of obsessive and possessive. Yes I described the man as a dessert, read the book and tell me I am wrong 🙃 Then throw in the nicknames, your girl was a puddle.
Grace is hopeful and persistent, she’s compassionate, and genuine. She shows that often through out the story.
The two of them together is electric and the tension crackles. I was glued to this book and did not put it down.
So the moral of my story is, add this to your tbr and you can thank Erica later 😉
This is my favorite book that I’ve read this year. Grace grew up sheltered and innocent and was quickly introduced to a whole new world of depravity, crime, violence, and loyalty on her search for her father. Damian was hooked from his first look at her. Their relationship has action, heat, love, passion, and loyalty. I loved the depth of their points of view and up until the last chapter I was on the edge of my seat! Literally cannot say enough good things and of course the HEA was beautifully spicy! It is a MUST READ.
“Sometimes the most beautiful futures are born from the darkest beginnings.”
🖤morally black MMC 🤍sweet small-town FMC 🖤dark mafia/MC ties
Grace sets off to find her father. However, she finds herself in the middle of a mess she didn’t except. It’s a world of tattooed bikers and drug deals with the Mexican Cartel. Damián is deranged and dangerous but so delicious. He knows just how powerful he is and makes sure everybody else knows too. Once he sees her, he claims her. The chemistry 🥵
Grace is leaving Tx and heading off to college and away from her mom, while at college she plans to find the dad her mother would never talk to her about. Damian is part of the cartel and he hands out punishment to anyone who crosses them. Walker is the president of local MC and Graces long lost dad. Once Damian comes in contact with Grace he finagle away to have her by all means even kidnapping.
Such an incredible read. Had me hooked from beginning to end. I loved the shift from Grace being the small town good girl to her giving in to her darker desires once she was involved with Damián. The way the tension built up between them was intoxicating and the payoff was well worth it. I loved seeing Grace with the MC family and the way they treated her. This was deliciously dirty and perfectly v ¡ 0 | € n t and I loved every second of it.
girl you ate this book it was soooo good Damien is my man man 😮💨 the way he speaks Spanish to Grace 🥵🥵 my my I loved how dark you went with this one and my girl Grace was so fierce she really didn't take no mess lol 🤣🤣🤣 and the spice 🥵🥵 was perfecto🤌🏾this book was a 10 outta 10 loved it
His Grace had me hooked from the very first page. Grace and Damián’s dynamic is pure chaos and chemistry, her innocence clashing perfectly with his darkness. Their opposites‑attract tension is absolutely addictive. I loved the world Erica made and thay twist at the end had my mind blown!
Loved this book!! We have Motorcycle club and Mafia, found family and heavens the Spicy Heat!! I truly couldn’t put this one down and I cruised through these pages. Let me tell you there are some twists in here I couldn’t predict. I have been a fan of this author from her first book and it just keeps getting better.
