Dark fantasy romance
A good fantasy romance, with angels and demons, secret identities, forbidden love (he'll burn the world for her), oaths, rules, deception, survival and chemistry.
Jet, an angel, was sent on a mission to find an angel in the Black Mansion in Hell. His task is to find out if she's there under duress (and rescue her), or voluntarily (and ☠️her). He didn't expect to find Kit who is a demon disguised as an angel.
Kit's been in the Black Mansion for years and has learned to survive, though she's protected by Alastor, she knows it's only because she's useful and she's really trapped with no chance of escape. But being with Kit gives her hope and he's determined to not leave without her.
This is a standalone story but set in the "Veil of Shadows" universe and there are numerous epilogues all linking to different books in the series. It's duel POV and jumps back in time a few times, helping us to understand the characters better. This is the first I've read by MR Pritchard and I will definitely be looking to read more in this series.
