A Guide For Parents, Teachers, & Supporters Of Children With Autism Helping Autistic Children Find Their Voice By Understanding The Mechanisms Of Autism
Autism is a very sensitive subject for many and it is important that is be discussed with care and empathy, especially since it's been so highly misrepresented in our current time and culture.
This book will provide a look into the diagnosis of Autism and the challenges that come with Autism. In addition, unlike many other books on the same subject, it will also bring up the false information that has been fed about this condition.
It is my belief that before anybody can effectively educate children diagnosed as being on the spectrum into the normal flow of society, and most importantly – teach them skills to become more independent – we must first educate ourselves on the realities of this condition.
This book can be beneficial to your situation if: You are a parent of a child that you believe may have some form of Autism You are a teacher who may have children in your class with Autism and want to educate yourself on different treatments that can benefit them You wish to further educate yourself on the reality of Autism You know someone who has Autism and you want to understand them better
In this book, you will learn: Chapter 1: Understanding Autism • What is Autism? • What are the Causes of Autism? Chapter 2: The Red Flags of Autism Chapter 3: Autism Myths: Misleading Beliefs about Autism Chapter 4: Treatment Options and Interventions for Autism Chapter 5: Accepting and Coping as a Parent of a Child Diagnosed with Autism Chapter 6: Supporting a Child with Autism at Home and in School
You can further educate yourself on a rising challenge in society.

Books advice is outdated and ableist. Keeps referencing tantrums and how to discipline them out of an autistic child. Tantrums are goal oriented and meltdowns are overwhelm. You can’t discipline a meltdown out of anyone. Do yourself a favor and don’t read this book
Gives a basic guide but author has no direct experience of autism
Gives a very basic into to ASD and the symptoms and treatment options. May be helpful to a friend or relative who's never heard of autism. However, the lack of science or personal/professional experience of the author make this book of limited utility.
However, it would be even better if it recommended further reading on the spectrum. Overall, I would recommend it for those seeking a very basic understanding of the disorder.
