An Amazon Bestseller - Take a Dive into Chris Kyle's Life

A great read for those who are left wanting a little more, or if you don't know anything about the American Sniper and want to know what the hype is!

This is the legacy story of Chris Kyle, not glorified by Hollywood - An Amazon Best-selling Short-read

An incident took place at a shooting range next to Chalk Mountain, Texas on 2nd February 2013 that has continued to dominate news space ever since. A former Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle, was shot and killed by a fellow veteran, Eddie Ray Routh, who he was trying to assist with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. With a confirmed 160 kills out of a probable 255, Kyle is perhaps the deadliest sniper in the history of the United States Military. Two years after that incident, film actor and director, Clint Eastwood, created a box office hit from a best-selling autobiography by the name “American Sniper”.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding the credibility of some of the events portrayed in the film. Some of these claims include a bar fight with former governor of Minnesota and wrestler Jesse Ventura, an incident where he killed two carjackers at a Texas gas station, and supposedly sniping at looters in New Orleans when hurricane Katrina occurred. Ventura sued for libel and the court awarded him damages amounting to $1.845 million. There was an article in the New Yorker that suggested Kyle had a tendency to exaggerate the truth; did Eastwood follow Kyle’s narrative or known facts or did he try to marry the two?

Considering that Kyle was a legend of sorts, this is one question whose answers may not be easily forthcoming. The reason you will love this book is that it tries to bring out a few of these inconsistencies so that you have a clearer understanding of this man. You will get to understand why Clint Eastwood grants some breathing room to some military operations so as to build a film that helps you to reflect about some things that simmer beneath the surface.

This book will probe a few of these inaccuracies

This is the story of Chris Kile, a cowboy who was interested in the Navy, so he tried out to be a Navy Seal, he made it and he promised to defend his country with his heart. He made the longest kill of all time with a sniper. He died trying to help a man who had psychological problems.

Good Sumary of a Great Man

As the last sentence clearly states, we may never know the real Chris Kyle. What we do know has already been captured, but the author did a great job of paying proper respects to "The Legend". It really makes me think of what the reality was like that provoked the creation of mythological lore, and what caused it to be passed down through the centuries. I would say that for centuries to come there will be tales of the character, reputation, and accomplishments of Chris Kyle.
