A first rate, claustrophobic technothriller!
Skyscraper: No Way Out is an exceptional technothriller set in the most advanced skyscraper in the world. Brothers Ethan and Troy set out to rescue Ethan's girlfriend, Livia, a security officer, when the terrorists create a literal firewall, knowing the fire would be contained, not destroy the building, and trap the police and security on the other side for hours. The building hermetically sealing itself wasn't in the plans of the intruders, nor the elevators locking down. Troy isn't who he seems, still a good guy, but with a sketchy past. The writing is characteristically perfect for anything by Rey, great characters, high octane plots that still fit in a bit of science, even in his less sci-fi efforts, great, well thought out plots with pacing to match, the kind of strained dialogue with an occasional bad attempt at humor one might expect in just such a dire scenario. This is a fantastic, high concept thriller that will appeal to nearly any adult audience! Overall, 5/5 well earned stars!

Overall, a fairly entertaining novel. I've actually been craving more novels related to AI in light of current events. Truly, an apocalyptic thriller about AI would be even better, but I digress.
From a technical standpoint, and having a non-zero background in tech, the actual mechanics of the AI felt weak and didn't really make sense. But if you ignore that, the concept of an AI doing things (avoiding spoilers here), it's serviceable.
The ending felt a little abrupt or rushed. All the loose ends were tied up, but the final conflict fell flat for me.

Brilliant read
Really enjoyed this book had me gripped from the beginning..Well done Tim Rey. Couldn’t put it down. Was on of those books you wanted to now how it ended but at same time didn’t want to finish it.

Engaging!
Very engaging plot line. Characters are real, and the technology subject matter was exciting and believable. Good book from a good writer!
