This was such an emotional and beautiful MX story, I just love the love between these two so much 💛 Child hood friends that lost contact, and meet again years later when they have both been going through some not surprisingly changes 💛
This story is dealt with respectfully and sensitively 💛

Theo and Shae were written in the stars! The things they went through, meeting younger, losing touch, then it just so happens that Shae goes to a camp owned by Theo! Not to mention Shae just happens to be a little while Theo is a Daddy! Perfect! I enjoyed the plot of this story!
With that being said, while I don't mind age play, this one just isn't my kink! To each their own! I still found this book enjoyable though!

Theo and Shea fall for each other all over again in one intense week. For Theo, seven days are enough to realise he wants a future with Shea. For Shea, a single look brings all his old feelings rushing back — only now he’s returning as the man he’s become after transitioning and being forced to hide his true self. Both know love wasn’t enough the first time, but this week might be their chance to make it different.
The undeniable connection between Theo and Shea shines through every moment of this story. I loved how fate — with a little help from Shea’s best friend — stepped in to bring them back together again, giving them the second chance they both clearly needed. Theo’s tenderness and the way he looked after and cared for Shea was beautiful to read, adding so much warmth to their reunion. The whole story felt emotional, sweet, and deeply heartfelt, capturing the magic of rediscovering someone who has always held a piece of your heart. This was labelled as an MX story but it felt like an XX story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Their relationship develops with so much warmth, trust, and understanding that it was impossible not to root for them.
Shea's journey in particular was handled with care and sensitivity, and I appreciated how the story focused on two people finding the courage to be themselves and believe they deserved happiness. The emotional moments hit hard, but there was also plenty of sweetness to balance them out.

I just finished reading "Stars Like Confetti " by Rae Simmons, was a beautiful story about two people who found each other after years of being apart. Shae is transgender and a little they revert back to being a little when they are overwhelmed its their safe place. Theo is nonbinary and a caregiver they run a summer camp that is a safe place for those who are Little ls and careguvers. They want to just feel like they belong somewhere and be their true selves. When Theo and Shae come face to face after being ripped apart by Shae's parents they cannot believe it. Its as if no time has passed and the love they shared has grown into what I would describe as a supernova. It was explosive, beautiful and something that cannot be described. This book is wonderful and a beautiful story between two people who found love and get to share the rest of their days showing that love to the world

Oh, my heart. This second chance romance wrecked me in the best way possible.
There’s nothing like a childhood-friends-to-lovers story when it’s beautifully done right and watching these two find their way back to each other after two decades apart was just beautiful.
Rae handled their individual growth and years of separation with so much sensitivity and respect. It was such a sweet, tender look at two people who had gone through hell and back but still had a fire to fight for themselves and the right to be their authentic selves. They just wanted to be loved for who they were.
The emotional connection and right amount of spice made this story a wonderful read. Their chemistry was unmatched and their love for each other was so special. Just beautiful.

Stars Like Confetti is definitely one of my fav reads of 2026.
The story of Theo (they/them) and Shae (he/him) hit home in a lot of ways for me that I was not 100% prepared for.
The story that Rae gave us was sweet, but real. Forced separation leading to second chances. Getting to be a part of Shae and Theo reconnecting and getting their happy ending was priceless.
The caution and the hesitation in trying new things was adorable and had me giggling at times when Shae would finally let go.
This is a definite must read and a special thank you to Rae for helping me see some nuances in things to navigate raising my own nonbinary kiddo in a healthy environment.

This was so sweet!
These two were so gentle with each other. Yes it was fast-paced but it felt just like they were soulmates regardless of who they were or became. I loved it.
Theo was so loving and caring. They really paid attention to Shea's needs and boundaries. They were amazing.
Shea deserved better parents than he had , I am glad he found Sophie after escaping that hellhole. He was such a sweet baby.
