Tala
They want me to be their princess, smile sweetly and submit to their barks and orders. The feral dogs have no clue I’m snapping a mask on while morphing into the weapon I was designed to be.
The wolf is coming out of the cage, ready to bite the hands that beat it. And it almost tastes as sweet as the Devil.
Jax
My heart has been ripped from my chest, leaving wrath to pump my veins. I only smell gas and see flames roaring into blankets of white, each ember drifting away with my sanity.
I will watch the sky turn blood orange until I find her. And once I have her back, I will never let her go. I will obsess over every breath in her lungs, even when I no longer share oxygen with her.
“Our souls have been in love far longer than these bodies have known each other. I’ve always belonged to you, Jax. And I always will.”
I do not think I’ll ever recover from these. They were beautiful. The authors ability to write pure sonnets into this love story was otherworldly. The story gave me vibes like the cat and mouse duet but better in my opinion. The characters had depth. They had substance. There was more believable love story. It felt as though their love truly did transcend. Twin flames. Red string. North stars. It was beautiful.
The plot felt as though it gave me everything I wanted. I do hope we see more in the future. Maybe a prequel to the grandparents. A spicy novella even. I’ll take whatever crumbs this author leaves. 🥵
I loved the character and relationship development between Jax and Tala. It felt smooth and natural. The pacing was a little slow for me. I found the writing unique and interesting. Jax is a villain with a good reason. He's motivation in life is to get revenge for his father and to save as many dogs as possible. With that said beware there is animal abuse but not from the main characters. The side characters were multidimensional and well developed.
Jax & Tala my god! Their relationship is so intense. The love and the spice was so good. Jax would say the most swoony things I ever heard. I just loved this book so much.
