I didn’t have the best track record when it came to men. No matter how hard I try to make good choices, I end up picking losers just like my father. After my last failed relationship, I decide to take a break from dating and focus my energy on other things—family, friends, and my thriving business.
At least that was the plan.
Until a certain gorgeous hockey player walks into my small town bookstore one day and turns my carefully crafted world upside down.
Tanner Fine is back in Hope Valley after a season-ending injury and his body isn’t the only thing he’s trying to heal. He’s set his sights on me and is determined to show me that he’s different from the men in my past. Despite all my efforts to keep my walls up, I can’t stop myself from falling for him.
There are just two problems standing in our way.
The first is that he isn’t here to stay. Hope Valley is my home, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. But it’s only a matter of time until Tanner returns to his real life, leaving me behind. The second is that I’ve been keeping a secret from everyone I love. And when it finally comes to light, it could ruin everything.
Born and raised around Houston, Jessica is a self proclaimed caffeine addict, connoisseur of inexpensive wine, and the worst driver in the state of Texas. In addition to being all of these things, she’s first and foremost a wife and mom. Growing up, she shared her mom and grandmother’s love of reading. But where they leaned toward murder mysteries, Jessica was obsessed with all things romance. When she’s not nose deep in her next manuscript, you can usually find her with her kindle in hand.

Alright, despite that nerve wracking book title, this was actually a light, safe read. Sigh of relief. It was a short book, but I did have to put it down a couple times. I kept getting distracted by my growing pile of TBR recommendations. Thank you IG reels. 🥴 But yea, this was decent, smutty, though lacking a bit in emotional depth. Still, it was non angsty, doesn't spike my blood pressure. Which is a nice change, ya know. To not want to shake the heroine in frustration. Or hate the hero's gut for being such a prick! Especially in the wake of Connor and Raylan.
Mild spoilers
Our hero, Tanner was kind, protective, supportive and pure gentleman. So rare these days! He's an athlete, taking a break for the remainder of the season due to his injury. He vacations in the town of Hope Valley where he meets our sweet as molasses, heroine, Holly. She is Gypsy and Raylan's sister and owns a bookstore named " One More Chapter". It was pretty much love at first sight, both smitten right away. The relationship developed super duper fast, cuz Tanner moves fast. He's ALL in. His "sunshine" ain't escaping him.😁 And far as the plot goes. They meet, hooked up on the first date (hey, I don't judge 🫠), fell in love and stayed in their love bubble. No major drama, misunderstanding or conflict. Just the return of Holly's evil scum of a mother. She's utterly revolting, I wanted to reach in and slap her HARD. And do it two more times!!
What to expect: 📌 No third act breakup 📌 No cheating 📌 Cinnamon roll, non-toxic Hero 📌 He can COOK! Yasss 📌 Hockey player 🏒 🎶 all the things she said--running through my head 🎶 (Heated Rivalry- what have you done to me. 😆) 📌 Alpha sweetness but dirty talker 🤭 📌 Holly's 🐈 named Yoda. How freakin adorable. I wanted to name my puppy Grogu but lil diva just glares at me. 📌 Slight ow drama. Tanner had a "situationship" ex Sandra but he ended things before he got to Hope Valley. She's a puck bunny stalker, shows up and kisses Tanner (unwelcome and he pushed her off). 📌 Slight om drama. Blane, Holly's ex (the cheater) sees her with Tanner and got all fan boy. And he's still with the skank he cheated with. Good riddance! 📌 Naomi (Holly's bff) - the extra star is for her in fact. I like this sassy, lil dynamo of a woman. Hope she gets to keep her fire and backbone in her own book. 🤞
The bad or ick factor: 📌 Raylan. Still don't like him. I'm glad Tanner put him in his place after he blew up at Holly. Smuck that you are Raylan! 📌 Tanner dated Holly's friend, Ivy, in the past or previous books. Prob not a big deal for some as they were not serious and only made out as far as intimacy goes. Still, it gives me the heebies jeebies. Because Holly was in the friend group and noticed him. But he didn't. 😬
I mean, I'm not mad 𝘮𝘢𝘥, just a bit irked. That's just the possessive reader in me.🤷♀️ Like Holly...that gonna be ur man girl. Can you mind a little or get a bit jealous? 😄
We knew he was gonna be straight golden retriever vibes since Tangled in you and he delivered.
NHL hockey player. Gets injured. Decides to vacation back to lovely Hope Valley.
Enter Holiday Bradbury. Another sibling in the group. The romance bookstore owner. Sunshine vibes.
This was sweet. And spicy. And just a solid farewell to the series.
It felt a little like an episode of friends when they were all in the cafe on the couches 🤣 This series made me happy and I’m glad it introduced me to Jessica Prince.
Returning to Hope Valley one last time in this series feels a bit bittersweet. The author assures us we’ll see some of these beloved characters again, but this book wraps up a journey many of us have been on for years. I’ve followed this series from the very beginning, starting with Out of My League, and over time these characters have come to feel like old friends. When Jessica Prince introduced the second-generation stories set in Hope Valley, it felt like coming home again.
Holly and Tanner’s story is the final installment, and it’s a wonderfully comfortable, entertaining read. And let’s talk about Mr. Fine—because Tanner Fine is very fine in more ways than one. Any man who openly adores and respects his mom and isn’t afraid to show it is an absolute rock star in my book.
Tanner is facing a big decision about his hockey career, something readers have seen building since we first met him earlier in the series. Holly, on the other hand, has been part of this world since Gypsy’s story long ago, so longtime readers will feel an extra connection to her. Together, Holly and Tanner have undeniable chemistry and a kind of easy magic that makes their story a joy to read.
The book flows smoothly, keeping me invested from beginning to end. One thing I especially appreciated was the minimal angst—sometimes it’s nice to simply enjoy the story without wanting to throw your Kindle across the room.
A standout secondary character for me was Naomi. Her honesty, wit, and sharp sarcasm practically demand a book of her own. I have a strong feeling we might see that happen someday, and I would absolutely be here for it.
If you haven’t started this series yet, you could jump into this book and still enjoy it—but I’d definitely recommend going back to the beginning. Knowing the characters’ histories makes the experience even richer.
I’m going to miss this Hope Valley crew, but if there’s one thing I know, it’s that Jessica Prince always has something new up her sleeve to pull us in and keep us hooked.
I’m so angry that I finished this in one sitting. Not that I spent time with Holly and Tanner, mind you, but that I managed to devour the whole journey that fast. And what do I do now? Wait. Yeah. I wait. Because there are still people waiting for their forever in this town, even if they won’t get it as part of this series.
Tanner is someone I’ve liked since the beginning when he was there for another woman who was a bit lost, much like he is now. His friendship with her brought him to the town that gave him peace because he surely needs it now. He also gets the added bonus of meeting his future. He just needs to figure out how to convince Holly of that same vision.
This is everything I’ve come to adore about this town. The friends like family, the family that has your back, the love and the heat and the sweet, and the happy ever after that is guaranteed. So I’ll wait because I know a few others will share their tales soon enough. And while I wait, I might even head back for a reread when I need to feel some of this hope and happiness again.
What an incredible book!! I loved this series so so much. it's so bittersweet that this is the last book of this series. It was phenomenal. I loved Holly and Tanner together they were absolutely perfect. I couldn't put the book down at all. amazing book!! so excited to see what is next by this incredible author
Another great story with a perfect hero. Holly has her HEA and she and Tanner will be forever happy in their gorgeous “cabin” with all their friends nearby.
I’m sad we’re saying goodbye to Hope Valley (again ~ and I have no doubt we’ll get updates every now and again and possibly head back one day because there still be people I NEED to have their own HEA) this was a great way to go.
I ADORED Holly and Tanner. Both are genuinely good people. They’ve worked hard for what they have and truly adore their friends and family…and crazy enough they aren’t as ‘opposite’ as one would assume. Their chemistry was intense from the start, and to say I loved their ‘meet cute’ is an understatement, but I truly appreciated how they communicated with each other…yes, there were some secrets, but overall how they were open about who they were and what they wanted for themselves and how they felt about their relationship.
The drama that is woven throughout their story doesn’t overtake it, but did keep me turning the pages to see when it would make itself known and as expected, it made things interesting, but I like how everything worked out for them in the end.

This is the last book in the second generation of Hope Valley. Holly is a sibling to Gyspy from the OG series. Gyspy and Marco were my favorite couple so it makes my heart so happy to see her siblings finding their HEAs. I loved Tanner. He is at a crossroads in his career and healing not just his injury, but also his soul in Hope Valley. Hope Valley has a way of making people take breath and enjoy life not just go through the motions. I love that Holly owns the bookstore in town. I know I would be a frequent visitor especially for book club. I also loved that Holly has an adorable cat. I can honestly say Holly is living my dream life. Tanner's bbf and teammate Luke is awesome and one of my favorite scenes is when he comes to visit Tanner in Hope Valley. This book was a beautiful note to end this series on.
4.5 stars - brilliantly beautiful story to end the series and town I never wanted to leave! The Bradbury's have been through it all and seen so much in their lives. What a wonderful conclusion and now they all have their own HEA. Holiday never thought that she would find that love that her siblings had except in her books. She was so happy for them but she just couldn't get past her past. When Tanner Fine popped into her shop the little hearts began to dance around in her head. Tanner was in Hope Valley for rest for his injury and to figure out where he should go from here. He had reached that time in his life and career that he needed to make his "plan B" or better yet, his grand finale on the ice. "Holiday" was just what he needed, both now and always. I have truly loved Hope Valley and this was just the perfect end to the series. review by C. Seymour - blogger

Love this series! Loved this conclusion to the series! I have read all of the other novels in this series and loved them. This novel did not disappoint. I was so excited to jump back into this series and it did not let me down. From the first chapter this novel sucked me right back in and held on tight. I didn't want this novel to end. I loved Holly and Tanner’s story. Their chemistry was so so good! Once I started reading I could not put this novel down. Even if it meant staying up almost all night to finish, so worth losing sleep over. I loved checking in with characters from some of the previous novels. So good! Loved it! I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next.
Jessica Prince is one of a few authors that I don't have any problem or struggle with an instant love or love at first sight even if I don't believe in it.
Beautifully Broken Pieces is about a Hockey player falling hard and fast for a bookstore owner... actually they both fall hard and fast for each other. Prince is an excellent author who can extend what happened in one day or 24 hrs to be 50% of the book without me feeling like it was dragged too long or boring. I was pulled deep into Holly and Tanner's chemistry and attraction. I love seeing Holly has been taken care of and Tanner's possessiveness is swooning.
Anyway, when it comes to Holly's secret, I felt a little bit annoyed with her decision so even if I enjoyed reading the book, I decide to give it 4 stars.
Beautifully Broken Pieces is the perfect ending to the Second Hope series, where Holly finally gets her happily ever after with hockey hottie Tanner.
I’ve absolutely loved the Bradbury family throughout, and watching Tanner step up for Holly made me love him even more. When he chooses her and fully embraces her family, he fits right in with the Bradburys—proving he’s exactly the kind of man Holly deserves.
This story is filled with heart, healing, and the kind of swoon that reminds you sometimes the most broken pieces can create the most beautiful future.
I pretty much devoured this 5 star story in a matter of a few short hours.
Tanner needs to recuperate so he ends up in Hope Valley. Upon entering the book store, it’s love at first sight when he sets his eyes on Holiday. It’s instant love at first sight for both of them.
I loved this amazing story. Tanner is a swoon worthy and protective kind of man. Beautifully written with a highly entertaining storyline. Bottomline this is a must read.
This story is part of a series that is already available. Grab them all and enjoy. Story told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
I loved this story of Tanner and Holliday! This story was amazing. Tanner walked into Holiday's bookstore and just the sight of her knocked him over. The attraction was strong. Holly was gun-shy when it came to men. She's been hurt a lot in the past. Tanner was just supposed to be in Hope Valley on vacation away from his injury from hockey. And then he meets Holly and all bets are off. These two are truly perfect for each other. I love this book and series! I highly recommend the whole series! I have loved this series so much. It has been one of my favorite book families.
I love love love Holly and Tanner. We met Tanner before and now he is back and just the man to make Holly believe in dating again. He is such a sweetheart. So sweet and so determined to see Holly smile and be happy. Holly is pure sunshine and I hate what she is dealing with, or should I say who. They are just so good together. I always love seeing Gypsy and the rest of the gang. This town just makes me happy. Theee isn't much drama and I love how he goes about it when it happens. Sad to leave this town but cannot wait for what's to come.
Another great story in the Second Hope series. The Bradbury family has been through so much in their lifetime. It is wonderful to see them get their happily ever after. Holiday never thought she would find that type of love that would be all consuming until she crossed paths with Tanner Fine. Tanner was just looking for someone to love him for himself and not for who he was. Their relationship was so sweet and spicy. Tanner became not only Holly’s lover, but her best friend and protector. This was a great conclusion to the series.
I really enjoyed this story. My heart broke for Holly and how she felt like she had to hide how she was trying to save her siblings from their mom. I loved Tanner and how much he showed Holly his interest and eventually his love. Both characters were broken because of how they grew up and because of their parents but their lives became beautiful because of the devotion and care of their loved ones (for Holly, her siblings and friends and for Tanner, his friends and his mom). Thank you for the ARC!
Tanner is a 37 year old hockey player who is out for the season due to injuries. He goes to Hope Valley to heal and regroup. He meets Holly and he is immediately smitten. He convinces her to go on a date with him and their romance takes off from there. Just when they realize how much they love each other, drama shows up from both of their pasts. They stand together and overcome all obstacles. I totally loved the book. I was happy for Holly to get her happy ending.
When a sports injury puts you out for the season so you take a little break from the job and life. But once you get to your destination, you start to feel your axis on life turn. Then throw in the most breathtaking woman you've ever seen into the mix...what's a man to do? Loved having the whole gang back together and adding some new friends into the mix.
Not sure about the title of this book as its pretty low angst, I guess its that they've both had bad experiences in the past. Its pretty insta. They meet one day, text, go on a date the next and she sleeps over and they are pretty much together after that. No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. Ex in Hero's past, small comfrontation scene which is dealt with quickly. HEA.

These two were the best way to end Hope Valley. I was waiting for not only Tanner but Holiday’s story. I knew it would take someone special to win over Gypsy’s sister after everything they went through, and Tanner was the perfect Golden Retriever guy for her. I just really enjoyed this book and think it was the perfect way to end this series.
I’ve loved this series but this book felt very rushed and surface. Felt like the author just wanted to get the story over with. I feel like it had so much more potential but overall still enjoyed the characters and visiting Hope Valley again.
no major drama and the MMC is an absolute golden retriever. if only all the men knew how to communicate like him. The FMC is very sweet and deals with a lot of family drama but she finds the courage to let him know of what is happening and he helps her move on .

I’m so sad to see this series end, but what a perfect couple to end on. I love that Holly got her happy ending and getting to read all of Gypsy’s siblings heal was a full circle moment. The plot was great with plenty of spice and instant attraction. Such a good read!
Typically insta love isn’t really for me however I really enjoyed this. It had the perfect space for the book length. I do wish we would have gotten a little more yearning and relationship build up. I thought it was a great end to the series.
