Pumpkin Hollow

Grave Expectations

For three hundred years, Alaric Blackwood has watched over Pumpkin Hollow as a ghost, cursed to witness the town he died protecting but never touch it again.

Rosalin Graves has spent her entire life believing she's the weakest necromancer in her family—until a chance accident awakens the town's legendary founder. Suddenly, she's the only person who can see him, hear him, and hold him.

As they unravel the centuries-old curse binding Alaric to the cemetery, friendship blossoms into an impossible love. But freeing him may mean losing him forever, and some ghosts are far harder to let go than they ever expected.

Roz is a failed necromancer who lives in a village that shuns her. Alaric is the ghost who has protected the town in life and death. When Roz activates her magic, and starts to bring Alaric to life, everything changes. Roz wants to keep Alaric with her, but doesn't want to deprive him of crossing over. As they work to break the curse that was cast on him a deep bond of love is formed.

My only complaint is that this book was repetitive, the same ideas expressed over and over when once would have been enough. I did find the story very entertaining and creative, especially the end. However it needed to be shorter or different ideas needed to be expressed.

Pumpkin Hollow was a really fun town, with an eccentric group of residents. A fun, enjoyable story.

Pulled from the grave

Just finished this, and absolutely loved it!
A different take on a witch.

She has no powers or so she thought till suddenly she can talk and see the founder of their town.
Hes been dead 300 years but never found peace, cursed to watch but never seen or heard. She has been talking to his tomb for 10 years unaware he is there.

Now they need to break the curse and for him to move on... but does he want too?

Like your MMCs cheeky, a dirty talker who doesnt care where you are to take care of your needs? Hes for you...

Book quote:
“Subtlety is a lost art,” Alaric said. “In my day, you’d truly wait for someone to pass before whispering about them.”

This was a cute, fun little fall read. It’s a romance between a necromancer and the ghost of the town’s founder, who died trying to stop the witch trials. The novella length was perfect, even though I honestly would’ve loved a little more of them. There were a few spicy scenes but they were well balanced by the overall plot.
