Unbridled Fire by Kaya Sable delivers exactly the kind of intense, emotionally layered mafia romance its description promises, and I found myself fully pulled into Leo and Katia’s story. 💜
What stands out most for me was the slowburn tension between the leads.
Leo is the classic protector with a badge, an FBI agent walking a dangerous tightrope by feeding information to the mafia while clinging to his own code. His long held feelings for Katia, who was once tied to Michael Caruso, add real depth and conflict. The “she belonged to someone else” trope isn’t just window dressing here, it shapes every hesitant glance and protective instinct. I loved how the author lets that history breathe without rushing the romance. The yearning feels authentic, especially as danger forces them closer.
Katia is a strong, resilient heroine who has already survived tragedy and settled for emotional safety rather than passion. Her internal journey from guarded comfort to risking her heart again is compelling. She’s intelligent and capable, never a damsel waiting to be saved, which makes Leo’s determination to protect her feel like a true partnership rather than overbearing alpha posturing. Their chemistry builds beautifully from lingering looks and restrained touches to the kind of sizzling connection the “spicy mafia romance” label suggests. The heat is confident and fits the characters rather than feeling inserted for the sake of it.
The plot balances the romance with genuine stakes. The mafia world, vendettas, and Leo’s dual loyalties create constant pressure that keeps the pages turning. It’s not just background noise, the threats feel personal and escalate in a way that forces both characters to confront what they’re willing to lose.
I loved how this book ties in with the Enduring Vendettas series, while standing solidly on its own.
If I had one small critique, it’s that the “keeping his distance” phase goes on just long enough that I occasionally wanted to shake Leo, but that restraint also makes the eventual payoff more satisfying.
Overall, this is a heartfelt, steamy read with strong protector vibes, moral gray areas, and a love story that feels earned.
If you enjoy mafia romances where the emotional walls come down as hard as the action ramps up, Unbridled Fire is worth diving into.

The characters were very appealing and complex and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. Another great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!

Leo finally gets the chance to be with Katia but will the bad mafia guys take her away? If so, can he save her in time? Can she turn their techy guy, Dimi, before they take Michael down? This is a heartwarming story of Leo and Katia along with their families. It has some real nail-biting scenes as well as some tears. The epilogue is a great finish. Now I think Adrian needs his story to be told.

I loved this last book in the series! I'm sad that it is over but everything wrapped up perfectly, just as I like it! Both characters were already from the first two books in the series and this set their story up nicely. I'm glad that they both found their HEA but it was aslo nice to delve a bit deeper into their thoughts and personalities. Really see who they are. They were perfect for each other and very well suited. Would definitely recommend this series!

If you loved books 1 and2, you’re going to love this one. Wonderfully written with a fantastic storyline that pulls you in from the first pages. The story of Leo and Katia is exciting, loving and hot 🌶️. They were meant to be. I highly recommend.

Fantastic mafia romance! Unbridled Fire is Leo and Katia's story. Once you start reading it, you will have a hard time putting it down. The characters are well developed and the storyline is engaging. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!.

Do you see me over here with my pom pons!? Yes! Katia and Michael finally got there! This was hard earned and a long time coming. The danger, the tension. This was so amazingly good. I’m sad that this is the end, but so happy for these two. An amazing ending.

Katia and Leo’s story is so good. It’s so suspenseful and their love story is wonderful. There’s danger closing in. Will Leo be able to keep her safe? I definitely recommend this story.

I thought this was a slow burn that will keep you turning the pages. It was well written and the story plot was great.
