Absolutely not. This was the weakest MC man I have ever read. And he was the president! Only because it was handed down to him. So I thought he'd learn from his mistakes and he'd get gradually better and more mature, but that's not what happened because the author took zero time to prove it. He was a cheat, a criminal, and a theif. Stealing from registers that belonged to the MC businesses along with taking money from the younger MC brothers like some dumb high school bully. What was that? Anyways, I do no recommend this book whatsoever and wonder why the h was ever attracted to this guy.

If this book was the first in a new series and not a spin off of a few connected series with the next gen, I would have dnf'ed it within the first couple of chapters. But I kept reading because I liked the older series and wanted to see this next gen. While I hated/loathed Zeke, I liked what I saw of the others. Zeke is the reason why this book is rated so low and why I almost dnf'ed it a hundred times.
I know Zeke is a made up character, but man...was he a whiney, self absorbed, self entitled, little bitch! The very definition of a nepo baby in the worst way! And I don't say that because he was the President of a MC, honestly that was the only good thing he had going for him. It was his behavior and it was from the start and carried on the whole book.
From getting pick up after doing time (for the 3rd time, not a good look when you are a President of an MC), to how he treated Violet (his ride from jail), to realizing he didn't have his phone, must be the pigs fault they didn't give it to him when he was arrested (what a joke) to literally stealing money out of the bar till when he realized he didn't have any cash and needed it now that he was out of jail. This was all in the first couple of chapters. Then there was how his dad found him, insert eye roll here. He was a waste of air. It didn't get better when we learned why Zeke and Kyra broke up, at that point it didn't surprise me, the amount of disrespect. I wanted Zeke to get a beat down, from his father, the others in the MC, Kyra, a granny walking down the street, anyone really, because he was a huge POS and kept proving it over and over. There was no time while I was reading this that I was rooting for him and Kyra to get together, in fact, every time Kyra gave into Zeke, I thought less of her. I don't think I can say enough bad things about this fictional character and how much I hated him. It was only at the 90% mark that he even started to act like a President should and the book ended around the 95% mark. What a joke this guy is!!
I will read the next one, but it will be a make or break book for me is many ways. If there are other characters as bad as Zeke, or if he has a big role, then I'm out. I just can't handle reading about someone who is such a huge POS.

This book was a disappointment. Usually I love Jeanne St. James, and I highly recommend the original Dirty Angels series and her other series. But I could not get behind this one. Zeke is an overgrown man-child who is selfish, entitled, and misogynistic even by the standards of this series. He never deals with these dark aspects of his personality head-on and he really doesn’t show any personal growth. He just is determined to “do better” once he figures out that he has a kid and wants his old girlfriend back, but I am not sure what the “better” is supposed to be. He crosses pretty much every boundary that Kyra sets for him and she seems to just let him get away with it. He also never actually does anything to create value and never comes to terms with the fact that the only money he has is essentially stolen from other hard-working people and businesses. Everyone acts like he has grown into his role as President of the Dirty Angels, but there is never any sign of why he is better suited for this role than literally any other club member, and plenty of signs that others would do a better job than him. He just gets to be president because he is the oldest son of the former president. In the original Dirty Angels series, Zak (Zeke’s father) demonstrates over time that he has the vision and leadership skills to be the right President for the club. Zeke doesn’t even come close. This story just fizzled out for me - the idea had potential but didn’t work.
In short, I recommend that you read literally any Jeanne St. James book other than this one.

Trash!!!!!! Absolute horrible the plot was just bad and all of the characters were just plain bad and I was completely shocked because i love the author.

I've been excited for this next generation since hearing about it. I think starting it with Zeke was a perfect way to open up this series. We all make mistakes- but are some too big to come back from?
I will admit at the beginning Zeke was a PITA and I didn't want to like him- but Jeanne St. James doesn't write guys you instantly fall in love with (hello look at Zeke's dad Zak). None of these guys claim to be the good guys and Zeke has big shoes to fill after taking over as president from his father.
Zeke finds himself released from jail for the third time, he swears it'll never happen again- and he says as much to his cousin Vi. But is he able to keep those words? I mean his road name is Trouble for a reason...
Unfortunately one of Zeke's past mistakes comes and slaps him in the face when he sees Kyra for the first time after being released. All the past feelings come rushing back. His life is about to change, but in a good way- one he never expected would happen. He wants a second chance with her and plans to stick around this time.
I absolutely loved all the banter and interactions between all these characters and the fact that we got to see glimpses of old familiar faces. We get to see Zeke mature throughout the book and finally start putting family.
This book was definitely a wild ride from start to finish and such a perfect introduction to the next generation of the Dirty Angels MC. I'm so excited to see what the next book brings.

Started off rough was not a fan of Zeke but got a little better. Looking forward to book 2

Oh my word, where to start?! In December of 2017 I picked up a book, “Down & Dirty: Zak”, and just like that Ms. St. James sucked me into the crazy, sometimes messed up, but never boring world of the Dirty Angels. Then I was pulled “In The Shadows” and tossed into the “Blood Fury” universe and I’ve even crossed over into “Dark Knights” territory…Magnum is one of my favorite anti heroes. Yep, gotta admit, I’m a true fan and don’t see that changing anytime soon. So hopefully you can see how I would be excited that we’re heading back to Shadow Valley and the MC where it began. The originals, or OG, have mostly stepped back and their sons and daughters are now running the club and businesses. And it’s only fitting that the first in the new generation is Zak’s son Zeke. Zeke is now the President of the Dirty Angels MC, but he is nothing like his dad. Where Zak was more level headed and calm, Zeke is reckless and a little…well maybe more than a little…arrogant. He reminds me a lot of Romeo, the Dark Knights President. He’s not a bad guy, just doesn’t think about much but himself. Then a blast from his past in the form of a former girlfriend, Ky, has him back peddling quickly and trying much harder to be the man he was raised to be. I’m not going into any more than that. Do yourself a favor and read the book, it’s so worth your time. I have a feeling these guys, and ladies, are going to suck me in just like the OG’s did. Amazing book, didn’t doubt it would be, and I’m now waiting patiently…not…for the next!

A great start to what seems is going to be an amazing second gen series!
I can’t start this review without saying how much I LOVED the original series or how much anticipated this second generation to make an appearance! And it certainly didn’t disappoint. Great plot, amazing character development and the hint of a new feud and danger the new generation of Dirty Angels are going to face that I am sure will see about in the next books. I loved and hated Zeke in this one! I loved the fact that Jeanne St. James didn’t make him a carbon copy of his father Zak in character; it would have been boring and predictable. Zeke is nothing like our beloved former Prez of the MC. He is a hothead, rebellious, immature and self-destructive. This behavior landed him in prison more times than he would have liked and also cost him the one girl he always wanted. So, when he spots her by chance at a fundraiser along with a three-year old boy, his world turns in its axis. Four years ago Kyra fled Shadow Valley, hurt by Zeke. Now she is back, along with her cute little boy, Ledger. Can Zeke prove to them both – and his own club that despite everything still entrusts him with the gravel – that he can be taken seriously? Although I didn’t like Zeke’s recklessness and cockiness in the majority of the book, I loved seeing him gradually straighten up and finding his footing in life and I found it endearing how Kyra tried to navigate through the hurricane he brought back into hers. So, a great read overall and I can’t wait for the next one! 4 stars!

We all make mistakes and Zeke’s mistake was huge and something he couldn’t come back from and because of that he lost the one person he loved the most. Years of wondering where she was and not having a chance to explain was about to change, actually his whole life was about to change in a good way. When Kyra enters his life again, everything is different, she’s different and so is he. He’s made not so great life choices, but wants a chance with her again and to do better by her. These two were a rollercoaster ride I didn’t want to get off of. All Kyra has ever wanted was a life with Zeke, but can she forgive all his indiscretions and move forward? I loved the banter, the quick wit and all of the family they have to surround them. Zeke is a good guy who just needs a little incentive to make better choices and to be present. It was nice to see him mature a little and understand how his father and the other OG’s took care of business and now know what they need to do and the most important thing is to protect the family at all costs. I was so excited for Zeke’s book and the next generation to see how they are going to handle everything that is coming their way and I think it’s going to be a long and bumpy ride and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Finally Zeke grows up!
This is book one in the Dirty Angels Next Gen book. I am a big fan of the original series with Zak, Diesel, etc. The author had me laughing out loud so many times with the originals so I was excited for this series to start.
That first scene with Vi picking up Zeke was so good. Seeing the strong relationship between Vi and Zeke (cousins) was one of the best parts of the story for me. The fact that Vi took over from her father (Diesel) and she and her sisters are fierce young women. I am looking forward to more about the Reaper from the Shadows; he is talented.
I wish I understood more the history of Zeke. Why was he still messing up? I could feel that he did not care about himself, it was off putting to try and find any redeeming qualities. I liked Kyra. She is intelligent, bright, and focused. Zeke does not deserve her at all, but I am glad that he groveled, apologized, and groveled some more.
I am appreciative that the blame for Zeke’s gross mistake in an open courtyard was not placed on Bunny. It was good that both Zeke and Kyra acknowledged it was not her fault. There is an overarching storyline going on so this book ends and leads to the next. Read On!

Returning to Shadow Valley is like coming home. We have seen glimpses of the next generation in Jeanne’s other series, Blood & Bones Blood Fury MC, Dark Knights MC Crossover, and in Beyond The Badge Blue Avengers MC. These kids are all grown up and ready to show the originals that they can lead and handle the obstacles being thrown at them. One of the best parts of this book is the interaction between Zeke and his dad, Zak. As Zeke grew and matured throughout the book, it was heartwarming to see him come to realize that the OG’s always had their women and children’s best interests at heart even though they didn’t always know how to express that. I enjoyed the storyline, the introduction of the next generation, the comradery, and the connection, whether blood or not that they all treasure. I love how the women, the Angels of Fury, have their own club and don’t take any grief from their brother! This book sets the groundwork and tone for the future books., and I will be waiting impatiently to see what happens next. Thank you Jeanne for such a great beginning to this next generation series!!

If you are coming into Zeke's story expecting Zak 2.0, you would be very much mistaken. Zeke's road name is Trouble and he earned every letter of it. Quick temper, fists flying before his brain can engage, embodying the biker life style with his every breath. Which is how he got to this point, getting out of prison, again, and spotting his ex at an event in town. Kyra ghosted the biker who broke her heart and has been gone a couple of years. She came home for the support of her family, figuring she was over Zeke. But now that she is back, he is on a mission to get his cut back on her and her sleeping in his bed. Wowie, Zeke is a full throttle, all gas no brakes, kinda guy. He really evolves over the course of this book, I see the emergence of the president he is meant to be. Kyra is a strong woman, walking away from the love of her life and everything she has ever known. She came back home, risking her sanity (kidding) knowing that she would have to face Zeke at some point. But these two were meant to be and the love of a good woman is always an asset to the Prez. Such a fun read, I was cackling in several places. I'm so happy to be back in Shadow Valley, Down and Dirty 'til Dead!

I was so excited to start the next generation of the DIrty Angels and it didn't disappoint. Zeke (trouble ) has truly become his road name, he has spent more time in prison than he should. The son of the former president of the DIrty Angels he doesn't feel like they should be following in hi fathers footsteps in the way he runs the MC as the new President. When his past slaps him in the face he has to come to terms with the reality he needs to change. He has never claimed to be a good guy but to be a part of his son and Kyra's life things need to change. Kyra is a strong single mom who is doing everything she can to give her son the life he deserves even if that means not having Zeke in it. She makes him work for her trust and time with their son. Zeke finally matures and sees what needs to happen. The story has twists and enemies from the MC are back with a vengeance to wreak havoc. Even though it has a HEA the story will continue in the next book, can't wait to see what will happen next.

Zak was the OG President of the Dirty Angels who led his MC out of their 1% origins to the promised land…literally! Their gated community provided security and comfort, but it also meant that all the kids grew up together and formed a tighter band of brothers. And sisters!
Zeke is book one in the next generation and he is NOTHING like his dad. We do see glimpses of his younger brother who is literally his father’s shadow. Zeke loves the life, loves to party, loves to get dirty, and unfortunately loves to get into Trouble.

Zeke had a lot of growing to do, but with the help of his cousin, Vi (Diesel’s oldest), and his brothers…Zeke rises to be the man and MC President they need to face their newest enemies. Zeke is president of the MC now and is the son of Zak and Sophie. He is a hard headed man who is always getting into trouble; which happens to be his rode name. When his old girlfriend comes back to town and she was the only one he ever cared about. Things in his world rapidly start changing in ways he never thought.
This is the beginning of the Second Generation of Dirty Angels MC and it was a wonderful start to the series. There is danger at every turn and hard decisions that have to be made. The suspense and anticipation is in the story from beginning to end and will keep you on your toes. Jeanne has a way with words that just have you wanting to see whats going to happen next. I'm so glad she put a list of the family lineage in the front because there were times I needed to refer back to it. I look forward to see what could happen next in this series.

Oh how I missed Shadow Valley!!! Where the bikers own the valley and run the town. This next generation is shaping up to be as rough as the last. Zeke has an enormous hill to climb in proving he deserves his position in the club. No one is too happy with how he has chosen to live his life. The curve ball he is thrown might be the toughest challenge yet. Fatherhood isn't easy.
Kyra is part of the tough challenge. She left to protect what was left of her heart but had to return for support. I respect her for it. She is looking out for more than just her heart now.
I was excited to see this series come to life. The DAMC has been my favorite MC series out there. At least it started my love for the MC world. This story went beyond my hopes for a next generation. The personalities of the kids are not far off from their parents and grandparents. I cant wait to see what Jeanne Started James has in store for the rest of these "kids".

I am huge fan of the OG team of Dirty Angels. I have re read Zak a million times so I was excited to see what his son had to offer. I hated him!! but I get it. I also was not a big fan of one of her other Presidents in another series and never read that book because they had similar characteristics but I ended up loving that other series. What I can say is that Jeanne St James knows how to write a good book!! If her intent was to color Zeke as nothing like his father then she nailed it!! We all know a Zeke in our lives whether we realize it or not and not all of them see the error of their ways. Others do, doesn't mean they become perfect but they do become a better version of their old selves. I can't wait to read the rest of the other books she has up her sleeve and please please Ms St James, if you are listening I am hoping you do a spin off of the Shadows too *praying hands* cause I love where you went with that one!!

I have been so excited for this new series. I love the Dirty Angels MC - I have reread the OG series several times! I'm glad JSJ made it clear that Zeke's redemption was going to be ongoing because he started out as such a waste. An ungrateful, unappreciative jerk and a total disappointment who didnt deserve to be president and had just walked out of jail. BUT, then the only woman he ever cared about showed up again and suddenly , there were things he was willing to fight for and he started to appreciate what his dad Zak had been trying to show him. I loved returning to Shadow Valley and seeing all the kids grown up (I cant wait for Violet's book!). Zeke still has a ways to go and Kyla was kind of a pushover, but I did feel like they belong together. I am excited for this series and I hope there will be a lot more of the OG Angels in it. Even though Zeke had great role models when it came to his parents he hasn’t followed in their footsteps. He may be the president of the Dirty Angels MC however his actions have earned him a well-deserved reputation both with law enforcement and with women and neither is good.
Kyla was involved with Zeke in the past however she knew that staying with him wouldn’t end well for everyone involved so she walked away and cut off contact. When their paths cross again she isn’t sure that he has changed from the man she used to know but despite that she can’t deny the feelings she has always had for him.
Despite his missteps I enjoyed seeing Zeke become the man that the MC and Kyla needed him to be as they take us on an action-packed adventure filled with danger, heat and a love that was always meant to be.

I loved this book! It is a fantastic start to this new series! I loved seeing the OG’s from the original Dirty Angles MC series. Getting to know their children was amazing. Zeke was a little hard to like at first, but I fell for him in the end. Zeke and Kyla were great together. Zeke had a lot to prove himself to Kyla, but he did his best to prove he was all in with her. The new generation of Dirty Angles have obstacles to overcome come, but they will prove to the originals they can do it. I loved watching Zeke and his dad Zak. Seeing Zeke mature and make Kyla and baby Ledger his top priority was amazing! I loved Down & Dirty: Zeke! I can’t wait for the next Dirty Angles MC: Next Gen series book!

Yay!! We get to return to Shadow Valley! I am so excited about this it’s like going to a family reunion and seeing people you haven’t seen in years but think about often. So this is the next generation of the Dirty Angels. Well guess who is president of the MC that’s right Zeke. I thought Zeke would be like his dad. Oh heck no he is not! Oh wait I lied he does have some traits like loosey goosey hips which we all love :)) he’s also been in trouble with the law. We get glimpses of the original crew or OG as they are called now and they are still bad a**es. Of course there is plenty of drama with the club still it hasn’t been all roses. And with the new generation comes even more problems and drama.

With the road-name of "Trouble", Zeke is not an easy man to corral. Reckless, arrogant, passionate, ultimately a jerk (at least in the beginning). His story is about growth and maturity and while he is not suddenly all wise and all understanding, you can see the start of his changes (at least I hope he continues to grow). Especially in his taking responsibility for and caring for someone other than himself. Kyla really had him rethinking some of his choices. His understanding of how he behaved both towards his family as well as towards his actions led him to see just how insensitive he could be. I like Kyla for him. She kept him on his toes and showed him that he wasn't the centre of the world.

I loved the first generation of Dirty Angels but I’m not a big fan of ZEKE Jamison. He’s self centered, rude, crass, irresponsible and seems to have very few redeeming qualities. And Kyra is a pushover even tho he totally humiliated her in front of everyone. She did the right thing and left town for 4 years. Meanwhile ZEKE was in and out of prison. I get why she came back to town but she let him treat her like sh$t. He eventually kind of redeems himself but you’re not really sure he can keep up the responsible ZEKE act. Time will tell. I will read the next books bc they’re interconnected and I do want to see what happens. The book is an ok read. But I did have to power thru some of his stupidity

Welcome Back DAMC
It’s nice to see the next gen but at the same time, I could’ve done without.
Zeke is to old to be as immature as he is and considering who his parents are, it’s disappointing. Now his story with Ky/Ledger is cute and I’m happy for the resolution but it was very quick. I’m not sure there was enough of a timeline given but it seemed like only a few weeks.
With the return of the DAMC of course some trouble has to brew because it can’t all be sweet. It just seems that so much time has passed since the OG’s and now the new generation, to have the same type of conflict quickly materialize it’s far fetched.
I must say I’m intrigued by the Angels of fury and by the new Shadows though, if we get more of that with less reminders of the past I’m all in.

Zeke was definitely trying but he absolutely needed to say I’m sorry I hurt you… Kyra needed to either hold firm on copadenting or work through her crap. It never really seemed like she did work through it, it was more like she caved to his Alpha maleness. But Family wasn’t the only reason she came back so I am guessing she wanted it to end up the way it did but she didn’t want to admit it to herself.
They found their shaky footing in the end.

It felt like old times revisiting Shadow Valley and meeting up with the Dirty Angels years after the original series. I was super excited to read an arc. But my nostalgia ended rather quickly. I didn’t care for the main characters. Zeke is the new president and he is unlikeable on many levels, selfish and kinda stupid. I have a difficult time believing the MC would keep this guy as president. He’s a giant weak link. He needs to “cook up” some more to be romance novel worthy. He’s just not ready and he doesn’t get ready in this book. He accidentally meets up with an old girlfriend and decides to try again for what will become obvious reasons. This wasn’t much of a romance. Zeke thought he was over her but, well, reasons. She has full body betrayal syndrome. I kept worrying about STDs. He’s a man hoe and gets blindly drunk a lot. The heroine is disappointing. She knows Zeke is a loser, but he’s just so good looking she can’t help herself. The “other man,” Glen, seemed like a good alternate choice and I was rooting for him. Of course, the heroine can’t get it on with him - only the man hoe gets some extra loving from those biker bunnies.
There are so many characters introduced and if you haven’t read the prior series, you may get lost or just not care. I’m more interested in others -Zane, Rage, Reaper, are all much more intriguing than hungover Zeke. It ends abruptly with little resolution on the romance end other than “let’s try again.” Zeke still has substance abuse issues. I’m not all that sure he’ll be faithful, that wasn’t even discussed and it should have been, considering their past. I didn’t see much growth here other than he promises to try real hard. Still hoping Glen finds a nice girl. I’ll keep reading because I loved the original series, but this one didn’t do it for me.

What an amazing start to this series. You must read the previous series to fully appreciate this book.
Zeke swears this his last time being locked up. His family has heard it before and he never keeps that promise. This time he has something worth fighting for. Worth forcing himself to check that temper and stay out of prison.
She didn’t want to go and risk the exposure. Knew it was a bad idea but she had to keep her promise. When she runs into her past she knows there is no hiding now.
Absolutely loved this book. The characters are amazing and they pull you into their world and you never want to leave!! I can’t wait for the next one.

This is the start of the next generation of the Dirty Angels MC. Zeke is the son of Zak and Sophie, he has a tendency to get himself into trouble and that is where he gets his road name from “Trouble.”
Zeke grew up with the best role models but the way he lived his life, it earned him a reputation that wasn’t the best. The trouble he always found himself in was of his own doing. Zeke had so much growing up to do.
When Kyla comes back to town, she has him realizing his behavior has not been the best. Kyla walked away before because being with him became too painful. But with her return, it is the motivation for Zeke to make better choices. His redemption arc is fantastic.

It is very hard to live up to the first generations shoes in this MC, and Zeke has even bigger shoes to fill as the President. But not everything goes according to plan for Zeke, especially given his road name Trouble. When Kyla comes into the story Zeke finally realizes that this is his chance for redemption and although he does not want to walk in his father's footsteps, it is not a problem to walk next to him. Hard decisions, hard actions and a new beginning is exactly what is needed to start the second generation series.

Oh my lord Zeke!!!!! Those Jamison hips and swagger are back y'all!! Having loved all of the DAMC OG's I have been so very excited for this new generation and Jeanne St. James has come back Shadow Valley full force!! I came into this book knowing that Zeke and Zack were so very different, but man are they the same type of men...love their protectiveness and I tell you, when they fall they fall hard. Zeke still has some making up to do with Ky...but those two are going to be a force of nature thru the rest if this series. Cannot wait for Rage now!
