I Don't Want To Level Up #7

I Don't Want To Level Up Book 7: Isekai Harem Fantasy LitRPG Dungeon Exploration

Rate this book
Grandorval – the third largest city on the continent, as well as, the city Rockin and his crew will be traveling to. However, it won’t be just a sightseeing trip. Rockin Starling and his party were hired by Meribel Willming herself to escort her to Grandorval. Since Rockin wanted to leave Hirvant anyway, he accepted the job without a second thought.

Girza, a white bear beastman and his crew weren’t the only addition to protect Meribel Willmint on her way to Grandorval. Blue Assassins, a name Rockin came up with himself, were a group of personal female guards assigned to watch over Meribel Willmint as well. Where Girza was in charge to plan and make decisions needed to secure the safest route they’d be taking, Blue Assassins were literally the only people allowed to be close to Meribel Willmint during the trip.

With that many guards and protection in place, reaching Grandorval shouldn’t have been a problem, or so people would’ve thought. However, it wasn’t until Girza decided to change the originally planned route that things started to become dangerous. First the crew had to defend against monster attacks, then a well-organized assassination ambush happened. Worst of all, a traitor was suspected to be among the escort people. As unexpected, or shocking, as it was, apparently somebody really didn’t want for Meribel Willmint to reach Grandorval. Will Rockin and his crew be able to escort Meribel Willmint safety to Grandorval in the end?

I Don’t Want To Level Up (book 7) is the seventh book in the series, which is a work of fiction. It includes fantasy isekai, gamelit, LitRPG elements, dungeon exploration, unconventional (harem) relationships and some adult sexual content.

Hello. I grew up with video games and anime when I was a kid. From early childhood I was dreaming up all kinds of stories in my head, but never thought about writing. With too much time on my hands at the beginning of 2020, I decided to sit down and write a short story just for fun. Chapter after chapter and the short story developed into a bigger one, then evolved into a full novel.

'Circle Star Adventure. Meeting Eve.' is the first book I had written. Since then, I now have two more series going: Magic Dungeon Academy and I Don't Want To Level Up.

I really like the plot mechanics of this story, but I don't like the MC's behavior or mindset a lot, and everyone is pretty childish a lot.

Based on the last book, I expected the MC to be dealing with two different groups that are looking to kidnap or otherwise exploit his unique ability to level. Instead, the woman he's dealt with at the local auction house hires him and his guild to be part of her escort to a major city. The MC and many of his members accept the quest, and the book deals almost exclusively with that escort quest panning out.

The MC has major confidence issues, and they crop up all too frequently in mental diarrhea internal monologues that plague the book. He's a good guy, but his self doubt and criticism take a large chunk of the enjoyable parts of the story and dull them. You'd think with having 3 (albeit slave) lovers already, he'd have a little more self confidence. But he's rash, and easily baited into dumb decisions, making him hard to enjoy.

I'll read the next book since I'm pretty invested in the overall plot, but I'd like to see the MC develop quite a bit more.

longwinded without much in it.

The fight scenes are awful. It’s 90% just different characters yelling out attack names.

The MC isn’t just an incel misogynist, but he’s also exceedingly stupid, emotionally immature, dense, and overpowered.

Overall, this book is a miss. Not much in it of value. But that’s the style of this author.
