Oh my! After reading "The Hidden Path" I feel like I've watched a fantasy action/adventure movie unfold, with themes of good and evil. If you have young adult male readers who enjoy a rousing, well-described battle, this is the book for them. Girls will enjoy it as well; there are a couple of female characters whose bravery and skills contribute to the success of the good guys.
Sean and his friends from the true Justice Consortium are given a broad education, from history to self-defense. They love God and choose to follow His ways, which means voluntary, daily self-discipline. My favorite take-away is how relatable Sean's world is to our present time, though it is set in a medieval-like past. In our own culture, we see ordinary heroes who stand up for honor and truth--according to God's definition--and we also witness those who cut corners and deceive with smooth words.
Check out "The Just Man" first and then pick up this one for a good read. Then prepare for your teens to develop an interest in fencing and knife-throwing!
