Ice Station Thule

Rate this book
A SECRET SOCIETY. A DEADLY CONSPIRACY. A RACE AGAINST TIME.

A 97-year-old man is murdered in a Scottish nursing home. What looks like a random killing turns into something far more disturbing — the victim was a high-ranking Nazi scientist, protected by the British government for decades.

The trail leads to a myth that was never supposed to be real. Ice Station Thule — a massive secret U-boat base, buried deep beneath the Antarctic ice. A ruthless killer and a shadowy organisation known as the Order of the Black Sun will stop at nothing to keep the station's secrets buried.

But the real danger isn't the Order. What the Nazis left behind in those frozen steel corridors was never meant to be found. And if it escapes the ice, humanity's fate is sealed.

If you like Indiana Jones, Clive Cussler, or Dan Brown's Robert Langdon novels, you'll love the Order of the Black Sun series.

It begins with the brutal murder of an elderly resident of a nursing home and leads an emotionally devastated former journalist to a rumored Nazi installation buried beneath the thick ice of Antarctica.

When DCI Patrick Smith reaches out to Sam Cleave for help, it brings back painful memories of Charles Whitsun and the subsequent murder of Sam’s fiancée. A search for the legendary Ice Station Thule is initiated, a mission that will endanger the lives of all who join and possibly the future of mankind. There are plenty of shocking discoveries, seemingly impossible impediments to overcome and the presence of Sam’s old enemy, who appears to be a shell of his former self; however, at times there remains a vestige of Whitsun’s malicious rage behind his eyes. The expedition members are fascinating individuals, each with their own reasons for signing on. Will Ice Station Thule be their ultimate doom or will they escape with answers regarding the purpose and fate of the supposed Nazi installation? Buckle up for an adrenaline-filled, constantly shifting narrative that grabs you and never lets go! This is my honest review of an ARC I received from the author.

The worst book I have read in many years. It is poorly written, researched and edited and has to be an AI creation that the author couldn't be bothered to check. Do you believe that he has written over 500 books. No

The characters have no character. Descriptions of people and places are thin. It is full of Americanisms and yet is set in Scotland and Antarctica with no American characters or connections. Scottish whisky is referred to with the Irish spelling whiskey throughout. The attempts to create pauses and atmosphere with one word paragraphs gives it a very cheap feel. Even the choice of title rings fake as Thule is in the Arctic.

This writer, if one exists, is having a laugh. He has over 500 titles and that is not writing, that's AI. I don't believe his bio which has no detail that can be checked out, and I think his name is trying too hard to sound like another British author.

Review of advance copy received from Author

The way this is written you feel like you're actually there and experiencing it and the book just flows. It's really a cool experience. The author explains everything in so much detail that you actually become familiar with it and feel like you could do it too. There's no angel in this bunch only people who make mistakes which is another reason it feels so real. What they found didn't surprise me. I kind of expected that. Just sorry that mankind hasn't learned from past mistakes.

A great Antarctic adventure with a well written storyline, great characters, and an outstanding location. Contains plenty of action, some suspense, and several twists and turns. A page turning story that was very enjoyable and one I highly recommend.

Thrilling conspiracy theory

I got my copy for free but this review is my own. This was a fun thriller and conspiracy theory with hints of romance. It leaves room at the end of the story for a sequel.

Fast-paced with a constant sense of forboding.

I don't want to spoil the novel by giving away any of its many twists and turns.

But lots of action, with some interesting characters.

ok

Bit wordy, too much of the nonrelated information to the central theme of the story and pretty predictable, but readable.

Where's the beef

Made it through the book. Just barely enough to keep me interested though i confess I skimmed through the last 50 pages pretty fast.
