I accidentally married a grumpy NHL captain. Coach Daddy is going to kill me.
One wild night in Vegas and I’m married to Jake Morrison, the Metro Raptor’s team captain and my dad’s greatest asset.
Jake looks like he was carved for sin and slap shots.
Our wedding night? A full-contact sport.
But the morning after he’s colder than the rink.
He plays by his no rings, no babies, no attachments.
I’d rather swallow a puck than confess this disaster to my dad.
One failed annulment later, we double down and fake the relationship.
Now we have to convince everyone we’ve been dating all along… instead of getting pucking hitched.
Except the more time we spend together, the less I can pretend this is nothing.
I fall for the man who swore he didn't need anyone.
And just when I’m all in, the puck drops.
I'm pregnant.
Pucking Hitched is a steamy standalone romance—each book in the series can be read independently.
You’ll find a grumpy NHL captain who plays by his own rules, a sunshine heroine who refuses to back down, explosive chemistry, and a Vegas mistake that changes everything.

Ellen Young writes steamy, feel-everything billionaire romances—fast, emotional, and deliciously spicy. Her books deliver razor-sharp banter, explosive chemistry, and powerful men who fall hard for the last woman they expect. Think: fake dating gone very real, secret identities, forced proximity, surprise feelings (and sometimes surprise babies), and swoon-worthy HEAs with penthouse views. If you love big emotions, bigger wallets, and bedside-table-worthy spice, Ellen’s got you covered. (from Amazon.com)
Pucking Hitched was an absolute joy. I loved the messy, heartfelt family entanglements and the chaotic, chirpy hockey crew that never stops giving each other a hard time. Ellen Young nails that perfect blend of humor, warmth, and emotional honesty. And the romance? Beautifully unexpected — the kind of love that finds you exactly when you didn’t know you needed it. A fun, heartfelt sports romance with so much heart.
It started out fine, then at some point the writing became lazy. I had a hard time reading the one sentence narration. Like what do we have against writing cohesive paragraphs? It felt like I was reading broken thoughts. I was so close to DNFing but powered through anyway -- and that's on me. It really had potential at first but after a few chapters, I got confused with a lot of things. Like why does he act so annoyed like he didn't make the decision to marry her. And why did she want to stay married then move in to his house. There's literally 0 chemistry after they left Vegas.
Also, there was that chapter when the team was going home from Vegas and he described Misha as "Silent. Observant. Russian." Like?????? And a lot of cringey dialogue too.
I was really disappointed about this book. I initially liked them, but after that first night in Vegas, I just can't.
“Pucking Hitched” is the third book in the “Metro Raptors Series.” Jake Morrison is a grumpy NHL captain who plays by his own rules, Tahlia Petrov is a sunshine heroine who refuses to back down. The explosive chemistry and a Vegas mistake changes everything. After literally running into each other, Hercules, aka Jake, and Sunshine, aka Tahlia have a few drinks together along the strip and end up standing in front of the chapel window now. “Plastic roses. Flashing pink lights. A cardboard Elvis giving a thumbs up” Next thing they are exchanging vows and rings…. “by the power vested in me by the state of Nevada, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
“You’re my wife, Talia,” I murmur, the words tasting unreal and inevitable all at once. “You’re mine.”
In the cold heart of morning, reality hits….especially when they see a Certificate of Marriage for the State of Nevada. Jake then notices her name on the marriage certificate…. Talia Petrov, his coaches daughter. She has married Jake Morrison, the Captain of the Metro Raptors….the hockey team that her father coaches. Tahlia ran to Vegas to escape everything her dad stands for - only to marry the man who lives and breathes the exact same world. "We have a problem. And we need to fix it."
This book is everything you expect from a sports romance with a touch of alpha male thrown in. I’m very happily hooked - I did not want it to end! Once I started reading, I could not put this book down! At times you will laugh, you will cry, get angry and frustrated - most of all, you will love the twists! This book will charm “the pants off you” and leave you going back for more. This is a lovely book that will keep you hooked! It has fun, laughs, intrigue, twists that you do not expect, and physical attraction. You will fall in love with Jake and Tahlia. They compliment each in some many ways - faults and all.
“My hands slide from her face to her waist, pulling her closer until there’s no space left between us. She makes a soft sound against my mouth, her hands sliding up into my hair this time, holding on like she’s afraid I’ll disappear if she loosens her grip. I kiss her even slower. Deeper.”
I was hooked by the first chapter. This is a lovely book that will keep you hooked! It has fun, laughs, intrigue, twists that you do not expect, and physical attraction. I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story. From page to page, chapter to chapter, from cover to cover - you will enjoy this beautiful story. This book will not disappoint! Highly recommended 😊
I love a good hockey romance for a fun break from all the dark romances I’ve been reading lately. It’s such a fun genre of book to dive into, even if you don’t know anything about hockey. Some books have more hockey talk than others but what I love the most if the family feel of the team.
This story is the one night stand that doesn’t quit. They meet in Vegas, drunk and decide to get married. Because drunk brain says this is a fantastic idea. Only he is a complete control freak, stoic and disciplined, she is sunshine, rainbows, choas and a tornado all rolled into one. But as we all know…opposites attract and boy do these two complete each other.
I loved the push pull of their relationship. There were so many “oh sh*t” and “awwww” and “is it hot in here” moments, it was crazy.
Jake is the Captain of the Metro Raptors, an NHL hockey team and he is in Vegas for a bachelor party for one of his team mates. He doesn’t want to be there but he is trying to be supportive, as well as keep everyone in line. But a run in with a tiny, fierce women in a yellow dress has him making decisions he wouldn’t normally make.
Talia is sunshine, rainbows and choas. She is the glitter you just can’t quite clean up, but do you really want to? When she finds herself hitched to a Greek god of a man in Vegas she panics and runs. Then because she is who she is, she lets the time lapse for the annulment and now is really married to said Greek god. But will she be able to keep him or will they go their seperate ways?
The relationship between these two broke my heart at first. I hated how Jake tried to push her away and was mean, even though I understood his grievances. And as much as I loved Talia I wanted to smack her with her let’s bury my head in the sand and everything will sort itself out moments.
The ending was everything I never hoped to dream for. I love how these two who didn’t really have any family create one so beautifully, and uniquely theirs.
If you like sports romances, happy endings (not like that) and bad decisions that turn out to the best best decisions, then give this book a read.
This is part of the Metro Raptors series and I highly recommend it! Ellen Young is a talented writer and I love her stories.

Jake is the captain of the Metro Raptors. And he likes structure. And when he’s at a bachelor party for a fellow teammate they get him to drink but he runs into Talia. Talia went to Vegas as an act of rebellion. And before either of them know it they’re drunk and getting married by Elvis. Waking up is a shock plus finding out exactly who they both are. Talia is the captain daughter. And of course Talia freaks out when she gets the annulment papers so as the mature lady she is- she shoves them in the bottom drawer of her cabinet. Where she then puts it off for days until she's going through her cabinet for paint and finds the papers. Only to realize the deadline has passed. So now she has to swallow her pride and go to Jake to let him know she kinda screwed up. Now we can't get an annulment only a divorce. Now I wanted to shake her for that. However, who knows what would have happened had she not freaked out about them. Once Talia moves in with Jake due to the failed annulment the sexual tension eventually gets to them. They decide the best thing to do is start fake dating. Which of course is when the feelings start to feel more real every day. I loved the surprise pregnancy! Wonderful book! I can't wait to read the other books in this series!
I am quickly falling in love with the Metro Raptors series. Young writes with detail, heat, and excitement while portraying the raw truth behind finding happiness in round about ways.
Jake is the team captain for the Metro Raptors. He takes his role seriously and has no desire to settle down and have a family. After all, he's never really had good role models when it comes to parents and family. He meets Talia while in Vegas for a team mates bachelor party. They literally run into each other. In a drunken haze they have the brilliant idea to get married. But come morning, they realize what they did and go their separate was, agreeing to an annulment.
When the truth comes out, and Jake finds out that Talia is his coach's daughter, they need to come up with a cover story.
Their road to happily ever after is not smoothly paved, and when Tallia gets an unexpected surprise, she runs. But he finds her and they finally share their feelings.
Definitely worth the read.

OMG! I laughed out loud so hard last night that I thought 2 things would happen: 1) I would pee my pants or 2) my husband would rush into the room (it was 11pm and he was still working) to check to see if I was losing it. Spoiler alert: I was losing it!! LOVE LOVE LOVE Talia and Jake's story. And the gummies scene (read it! I promise it is awesome) caught me off guard as it came out of nowhere! So funny! The only sad part is that it wasn't mentioned, discussed, or teased about for the rest of the book.
Anyway, I digress. Talia is an awesome mix of sweet, strong, and a scattered. But absolutely endearing. Jake is a perfect blend of grump and romantic. I cannot recommend enough this book; especially if you are into sweet, romantic with a side of grump hockey romances. I will absolutely be reading more by this author!
I absolutely loved Talia and Jake’s story. Talia is the perfect balance to Jake, and their journey was filled with spice, chemistry, and depth that made their interactions impossible to put down. The author beautifully layered the storyline with Talia’s sister, the challenges surrounding their home lives, and the undeniable connection between Talia and Jake. The team dynamics added another rich layer, especially with Talia’s dad being Jake’s coach, which brought both tension and emotional weight to the story. From their very first interaction, Jake and Talia sparked—then lit a fire they tried so hard to put out. But together, they only made it burn brighter. This was a love story that reminded me that once love takes hold, sometimes you just have to be bold, committed, and let it burn all the way to a truly satisfying HEA.
The story starts off with a bang. It keeps it going throughout the whole book and keeps you interested. I love the chemistry that the main characters have both when they have had too much to drink and when they haven’t. They are opposites but yet still connect together so well. Her father being his coach definitely brought some conflict into it but they managed to pull things off okay. Would read more by this author. Good hockey romance.
A wonderful love at first sight but they do not realize it book. Go to Vegas and wake up in bed with a stranger you're married to. What's worse is her father is your boss (coach). Too late for an annulment and living together while waiting for a divorce. Lots of getting to know each other. Birth control pills don't always work. There is a happily ever after ending. Thank you Ellen Young for a great emotional lots of feelings book. Loved the gummies part.
Steamy from the start. Zara & Jaxon have chemistry and nothing is ever really fake. Their love for Lilly pushed them through the hard until they realized what was in front of them. It was a good story and quick read. I would have loved to know a bit more about each of the characters. There were short little hints at background but nothing more. But good for a fun fast read.
* I did receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review
This is the sweetest story. Talks meets Jake in a bar in Vegas. They get drunk, het married and discover she is his coach's daughter and he is the Captain of her dads hockey team! Jake decides they will get an annulment and keep it quiet but Talks forgets to sign the papers and time runs out for an annulment. Great story.
I loved this book!!! it was wonderful to watch Jake lose his rigid control and fall in love. This is one of those stories where you didn't know what you were missing until you had it. Jake is sweet and sexy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked how opposites attract with Jake and Talia and they do fall in love once they get past the start of their relationship. I enjoyed reading this well written story.
I love hockey romance and this was another that was super AMAZING!! Had several laugh out loud moments but also some very emotional moments. From start to finish I didn't want to put this down and was sad when I read the last page. I highly recommend this book.
I loved their story Jake and Talia's I could not put this book down. I felt like I was there right along with them in all their emotions,. laughing, crying and angry at times. Awesome book.
There was an ad for this FB and it intrigued me. I like the way this author makes the character inner monologues funny and captivating at the same time. This was a good tale. I recommend it.
The relationship between the main characters is so heartening. This story didn’t seem to meet the regular pattern of many romance books these days. I loved the growth in all the relationships. I would most definitely read more from Ms. Young. Great story!
A hockey player attends a bachelor party for a teammate in Las Vegas. Before the next morning he has married a complete stranger at a wedding chapel. The twist comes when Jake finds out that Talia, his new bride, is the daughter of his hockey team's coach.
I am a sucker for a good hockey romance. The writing was done well. Funny, romantic, spicy and tense. I teared up, laughed and fell in love right along with them. Great HEA too!!!
This book was a quick, fun read. The relationship grows nicely into love. Jake proves to be a pretty hood guy. He is protective and caring. He made me swoon.
Another great read by Ellen Young. I have been waiting for Jack's book. It was a little slow to start but once it picked up, it really flowed well. The tension between Talia and Jack added so much to the story. Talia was so vulnerable but Jack was so caring. It was sweet to see their progression. It was such a good story. I definitely recommend.
