She went into heat. Three alphas answered. They didn’t claim her. They kneel.
Elowen Rowan didn’t come to Elderwood Academy looking for a pack.
She came carrying her grandmother’s herbs, her quiet strength, and grief she hasn’t finished unpacking.
What the brochure didn’t mention: three omegas died here last year. The administration called it heat complications. Case closed.
Elowen isn’t convinced.
What it also didn’t mention: them.
Calder — controlled, brooding, hiding a billionaire inheritance and an arranged omega his mother fully intends to install on campus. Tyler — steady, warm, the one who remembers how she takes her tea. Julian — precise, observant, quietly devastating. She spills chamomile down his shirt. He buys her another cup. Juniper — the one-eyed greenhouse cat with impeccable taste in people. She chose them all first.
When Elowen’s first heat arrives, the Greene Pack makes her a promise she didn’t know she needed.
They don’t claim her. They wait. They kneel — until she chooses.
But Elderwood isn’t as quiet as it looks.
The deaths weren’t accidents. Someone wants the past buried. And Calder’s formidable mother has her own plans for who belongs in her son’s pack.
The closer Elowen gets to the truth, the harder it becomes to stay invisible.
She’s not just asking questions anymore.
She’s already a target. The Greene Pack know she’s theirs.
Now the only question left is whether Elowen is brave enough to choose them back — before the truth costs her everything.
Omega at Elderwood Academy is a slow-burn, why-choose omegaverse set in a secluded academy town where devotion matters more than dominance.
A restrained first heat that will leave you aching. A second where she chooses them right back. A threaded mystery with rising danger — and a mother-in-law who won’t back down.
MFMM • No swords crossed • Guaranteed HEA Juniper included.
This was an interesting premise, hello good consent and characters choosing each other, however it needed more. The author appears to be new and the writing style I think reflects that. The world, setting, and characters lacked important background details and fleshing out (what on earth was the point of the academy and why would a pack only be two people, just as examples). The tone and pace are slow and easy, but were missing that oomph to drive reader connection imo. I’ve never read a heat in an omegaverse that was so dull. Even the mystery set-up for a handful of omegas dying the school year prior lacked urgency and action.
I dnf’d before much happened and I recommend Elizabeth’s review because she pushed through and had more thoughts.
Buddy ready with RL... but I am totally okay if you don't finish this one, RL!
Why did I? Well, apparently, I'm a sucker for a mystery and I wanted to find out who the murderer was. Was I satisfied in the end? No. But, I found out the murderer so 🤷🏻♀️
I LOVED the premise of this book... (omega goes to university where other omegas are being murdered around her... and meets three consent kings who fall in love with her while they work to solve the murder) but the author needs help editing for story (and for content).
Elowen goes to school (college?) one year later than normal as a 19-year old (right off the bat, she's young and do I care?). The school teaches "consent theory", which I loved. I adore consent in romance so I appreciate the author was really trying.
I did not realize that consent could bore me SO MUCH. She meets three alphas who are all about consent and agency and supporting her choices. And the romance is SO BORING.
There's also a mystery. Over the last year, four omegas died right after heat.
This story could have been really fun... but the author didn't know how to write it. The plotting dragged, the worldbuilding didn't make sense, and the romance fell flat.
In the beginning Elowen has an uncomfortable interaction with a mean girl who claims one of her alphas. Next thing we know, this girl is no where to be seen. There's some drama with the same alpha and his family towards the middle of the book... and then it's resolved. It seems like everything was resolved so quickly. Even the murders. We get some suspicion, and Elowen confronts the murderer... and it's resolved immediately.
This is omegaverse... but having a "pack" that's more than one alpha and one omega is "non-traditional". Huh? Why would it be called a "pack" if it's just 2 people?
It's hard for me to write a coherent review because this book meandered so much and was so incredibly boring.
I would NOT recommend it. Maybe this author will mature and write better in the future?
I wanted to like this more than I actually did. The premise had potential: cozy omegaverse academy, mystery, emotionally intelligent shifters, and a softer why-choose dynamic. Unfortunately, somewhere around 30% I realized I simply didn’t care enough to keep going.
The biggest issue for me was that the story felt more focused on delivering a message than immersing me in the world or characters. Consent and emotional communication are important, and I appreciate stories that handle them thoughtfully, but here it became so constant and repetitive that it started feeling less like natural character interaction and more like a lecture woven into every chapter.
Because of that, the relationships lacked tension and emotional unpredictability. Everyone felt overly self-aware and emotionally optimized to the point that the conflicts lost their bite. Instead of messy, believable people navigating attraction and pack dynamics, the cast often felt like they were speaking in therapeutic talking points.
The mystery also wasn’t compelling enough to keep me invested. By 31%, I realized I wasn’t excited to pick the book back up, and that’s usually my sign to DNF.
That said, I can still see why others might enjoy it. Readers looking for a very soft, cozy, highly communicative omegaverse with low emotional volatility may have a great time with it. Sadly, it just wasn’t for me.
So, I only made it to 80% before I just stopped reading for a while, and now I have just decided to fully stop reading this book.
The story had promise. I can see where the authour was going with things, and I like the characters. However, it kinda felt unfinished to me. I felt like there were parts of the story we were missing, some unfinished sentences and plot points. (Although I found it weird that Elowen was referring to her grandmother by her first name.) I can see the potential with this story, and I don't want to discourage anyone from writing.
There was a plot line of the typical mean girl getting jealous and warning Elowen away. But nothing comes of it. The mean girl threatens Elowen once and then is never heard from again. She moved on fairly quickly with how she wanted Calder all to herself in the beginning, and is supposedly dating some other guy on campus, so we never see her again.
And I found it weird that a pack in this world is only two people. Any more than that is seen as weird and not normal. I guess I find it more weird when a pack isn't more than two people.
I didn't make it to the end, mostly because of the story and the lack of urgency for the FMC in finding out who the killer is, knowing she has less than 10 days left before something happens. And yet, we skipped four of those days (timejump) just to meet Calder and his family for an awkward dinner session, and then we met Tyler's family, and now off to meet Julian's. I don't understand how any of this is happening, knowing someone is going around killing Omega's and is going after Elowen next.
Where is the urgency???
All of this could have happened way before or after Elowen's life wasn't in danger, but I guess priorities. When it got to that point, I stopped because I just couldn't justify why any of this was happening as opposed to finding the killer.
And for those claiming AI. I understand AI has used common writing tactics and punctuation, and such. But not everything is AI. It is very prevalent in today's world, and I absolutely hate it. But I don't think AI was used in this book (hopefully). Mostly because of the grammatical and punctuation errors. This book needs to be edited, but it does need work overall.
I really enjoyed this story but it was definitely missing a little intrigue, and something to help you latch on a little bit more. It has great potential! The romance was VERY sweet which made it just a little boring in my opinion but it didn't make me stop reading it. I had to find out who the murderer was, so I was at least going to do that.
Overall, I thought it was a cozy read and I enjoyed it for what it was.
This was an OK book with a decent plot and the writing was solid as well. But it was all a little I don’t know what the word was emotional obsessively about consent, blah blah blah. The dialogue wasn’t normal. It was that almost AI hinting you know where instead of just saying the sky is blue it says the sky is not just blue. It’s dark like the storm in your head or something just a little absurd that you don’t need. And when it happens every time someone has dialogue it’s exhausting to read. This author needs a lot of work on the dialogue. It doesn’t flow like a normal conversation. It’s like she needs every sentence that involves dialogue to be so over the top insightful that it doesn’t even seem like real people talking. I don’t know. It just wasn’t realistic in anyway, and the fact that these are college age kids and they’ve “”been a pack and all they’ve done is some like kissing is the most insane thing I’ve ever read. I don’t know if she’s new into omega versus but since in heat and all of that stuff, you don’t do this weird middle school dating thing. I don’t know it needs a lot of work before it’ll be great.
Omega at Elderwood Academy: ARC Review This book has everything; the bubbly supportive bff, the sunshine alpha, the quiet thoughtful alpha, the fiercely protective alpha who has added depth, wealthy parents pushing an arranged mating, lovable younger sisters, ⭐️TRAUMA⭐️, mysterious omega deaths, sleuthing, a knowing loving grandmother, heats, knotting, biting/marking, and a fiercely independent and unapologetic fmc omega.
10/10 would recommend! There is spice in this book but it’s really connection focused and less descriptive like it would be in a more smut-focused book. It really showed how the relationships the omega formed with each mmc differed and grew. So if you’re looking for explicit spicy scenes, this is not for you. If you’re looking for plot, solid character development, and a mystery that keeps you guessing, this is for you.

A very sweet and engaging story with a subtle touch of erotica that I read in one sitting. The book focuses mainly on relationships and the delicate setting of boundaries, which adds depth and authenticity. Don’t expect any major dramatic twists—on the contrary, it’s a calm and comforting read, perfect for a quiet evening. It’s also the kind of book you’ll enjoy returning to after some time. I’m already looking forward to the next installments, which are expected to explore the side characters in more detail.

This is a great book for those who enjoy Omegaverse RH romances. Elowen meets Calder, Tyler and Julian who become her pack. There is perfect chemistry between them. While they are navigating the pack lifestyle there is someone killing off omegas on the campus and one other sister university. Elowen and her pack figure out who is the killer and they catch them. There are other obstacles they must get around to create the perfect pack for them. I highly recommend this book to all paranormal romance readers.

The author has a toxic love affair with em dashes, ellipses and fragmented sentences. Author also attempts to make her own grammar structure, i.e., a whole lot of punctuation went wrong in this book.
Bonds at Elderwood is basically the definition of low angst cozy omegaverse. If you’re into slow, atmospheric worldbuilding and quiet relationship moments, it delivers. This book is long and the pacing is slow. There were whole stretches where I felt like we were just wandering around the greenhouse, admiring plants and having the same mellow conversations.
What really worked for me is how protective and supportive her three alphas are. Thankfully there’s no body betrayal and none of the messy drama you sometimes get in omegaverse.
If you want something calm and low stress, this is a great pick. Just know you’re signing up for a very leisurely stroll instead of a plot that actually hurries anywhere.
Note I did read the unedited version so things may be different with the final release. I'm giving this a 3.5 of 5 stars.
I believe this is a standalone story for Elowen and her pack but the subsequent books will feature other fmcs.
The first book of Georgia Meadow’s new series for Elderwood Academy is about an omega who values her self-worth and discovers a love built on being truly seen when three very different alphas are smitten with her. Calder is a dominant and protective alpha. Tyler is a kind and nurturing alpha. Julien is the studious and serious alpha.
It is more than just a romance; it’s a story of how restraint and patience are the measure of a true mate. Elowen has found not one but three alphas who value her independence and are willing to deny their own most basic needs and desires in order to satisfy hers.
This is a story that transcends literary fantasy and delves into the sincerest form of love and protection. It has beautifully written characters, with an emotional storyline and mild angst. The author did a wonderful job of balancing emotions in this book and blending passion, fear, hope, and love into a wonderful story. What do you expect when you go to an Academy? Most igo to learn thier professions or what they love. Elowen is going because she had a choice. When she shows up so do many Alphas to check her out. Three do it quietly, Calder, Tyler and Julian. They choose each other. Every day and all the time. If you like to read about choices this is a book for you.
