Hazel Rockwood is a romance author, and all her stories come with HEA (Happily Ever After) or HFN (Happy For Now) guaranteed. She loves writing spicy stories with wide-open doors—and sometimes windows. Occasionally, her characters even do it outdoors. Most of Hazel's books feature more than one love interest, though sometimes she tries to save her sanity by writing just one.
When Hazel isn't writing, she's probably reading. If, for some reason, she’s not doing that, she’s very likely watching Gilmore Girls and eating pizza, snacking on dried mangoes, or munching chocolate.

I'm grateful to have received an ARC copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was so excited for book 2 and it delivered!! It follows on from book 1 and Wave's relationship with both Rishi and Jarred develops a lot during the course of the book which was so nice. I really appreciate how the relationships don't feel rushed, which I often feel is the case in lots of why-choose books. I also loved how the FMC Wave didn't immediately forgive Marc and Hellion after what happened in book 1 and is making them work for it- Hellion definitely still has quite a bit of a way to go!

The plot also developed a lot, and more was revealed about Wave's background and family which was nice, and she is able to use a bit more of her power now which was also nice to see.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading and look forward to book 3!!

I received this book as an ARC from the author.

Okay, I absolutely enjoyed this book even more than the first one!

Siren’s Secret picks up right where Stormbringer left off — on a brutal cliffhanger. Wayla (a.k.a. Wave) is now forced to deal with the consequences of her actions while navigating the complicated feelings between herself and the men who have fallen for her. One thing I really loved in this book was the romantic development. The buildup with the man she ultimately chooses felt natural, slow-burning, and incredibly spicy.

As the story progresses, Wave slowly begins to let more people into her circle of trust, and honestly, that was such a relief to see. She’s been carrying so much on her own, and watching her finally allow herself to lean on others emotionally was one of my favorite parts of the book. I won’t spoil who becomes part of that circle — you’ll have to discover that for yourself — but trust me, it’s worth it.

The character growth in this installment was fantastic. We truly get to see Wave stand up for herself while also learning that accepting help and care from others is a strength, not a weakness. There are characters I’ve completely fallen in love with and others I still absolutely cannot stand… although maybe book three will change my mind.

And speaking of book three — that ending?! This book leaves off on one massive cliffhanger, and I already need the next installment immediately!!!🖤

I received this book for free early as an ARC, the review contains my honest opinions. This review contains spoilers.

I really liked the book two of Tracthesian Academy, though it was definitely a different vibe than the first book. There was less of a focus on there academy setting. I left the book satisfied, but felt that the first book was a bit stronger. I’m excited for book three.

Strengths
Wave explored and grew her connection with Irishen. I felt this was something not fully explored in the first book compared to the other relationships so I was happy to see this built on.
I liked how the cliffhanger of the second book was resolved (*for the most part, will get to that in weaknesses). I was happy this wasn’t a cliffhanger where you get to the next book and it’s like “actually never mind that wasn’t a big deal at all”. Time is spent resolving it.
The spicy scenes were well written like the previous book, I never felt taken out of immersion by them.
I like the introduction of Esserieh. I thought his relationship ship with Wave was delightful. In a similar vein I am very intrigued by her maternal family I am looking forward to exploring that in book three.
I was ok with how Marc wheedled his way back into her good graces, though I hope she makes Hellion work more for it.
The mystery of why the attack happened was delved into a little but still unresolved, though it didn’t feel like an afterthought because of the poisoning incident. So I’m ok with this books being focused on interpersonal drama rather than delving into the wider conflict more. But I hope that will be a large focus of the next book.

Weakness
I feel like we explored everyone in the book except for Wave. There were multiple key moments that I felt would have greatly benefitted from being her POV. Thing that, based on her demeanor in the previous book would have been life altering, impactful moments for her. They weren’t from her POV and I don’t feel satisfied with how they were explored when it did eventually switch to her POV. This happened multiples times but especially revealing her identity. She was prepared to die and or kill herself to prevent this from being revealed in the first book, but she reveals in the second book and I feel like I don’t fully understand how she feels about it? I came out the book with that being one of my lasting thoughts and I docked a star for that reason. I also don’t feel like I understand how she feels about her Grandfather considering her reaction to him “saving the day” at the beginning of the of the book was very subdued.
I also wish we had gotten to explore the other powerhouses, as some of them feel like complete unknowns still, even thought it was hinted at that Wave was building trust with them. But it felt like most of this happened off page, which was unsatisfying.

Overall I liked the book and I’m excited how that much less life threatening cliffhanger will turn out, it was quite a funny twist. Will definitely continue this series.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC!

I read the first book earlier this year after amazon showed it to me as a series I might enjoy based on what I had already read, and that book took me by surprise. It was one of the easiest five stars that I've ever given out, and that's saying something because I am someone who is extremely picky about what books I give five stars. So when I saw that the author had openings for an ARC sign-up, I couldn't click fast enough. And it didn't disappoint.

The ending of the book was kind of a mess for Wave---it kind of seemed like everything happened at once and she didn't even have a chance to process everything. This book picks up directly after the ending of the last one, so no time has passed, and I think that worked well, all things considered. I did have a good giggle when her grandfather showed up several chapters in and read about their interaction. We already knew that they didn't have the best relationship, but seeing it in action, especially given the circumstances, it was just kind of funny.

I also loved the relationships that we get in these books. Wave has four love interests, but there are 13 guys that all live together and are extremely close. It's nice to see them interact with Wave and how those that aren't involved with her still greatly care about her, even if it is a more brotherly way. Wave's friends are also in that same boat. They took Wave at her word and made a plan to make sure that she was never alone. She's got great people in her corner. As for the men . . . Well, two of them have gold stars, one of them was pretty much there after about 75% of the way through. But the other . . . Well, let's just say that he has his work cut out for him, despite the fact that he very clearly still has feelings for Wave.

This was a great book, and seeing Lucifer in it was just hilarious, especially given Wave's relationship with someone that is close to him that is not his son. And given the bombshell that be dropped in the last couple of chapters, I have a feeling there's more to him then meets the eye. I can't wait to see how the series wraps up and what becomes of the characters. 2027 is a long time, but I suppose I can be patient.

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 - 4.5 it just flew by and gave me everything.

I loved it and dreaded the last 20% because it meant it was over soon.

Wave and her multilayers are beautiful to watch. Her control is insane and I love how we are never explicitly told she is "xxx" kind of powerful but it is dropped in here and there with reactions from others to her statements, to her reactions and actions.

The MMCs:
•Jarred's love makes me tear up ❤️
•Risha and his feelings and own insecurities are beautiful and raw.
•Hellion and Marc are assholes who can't control their temper... Both struggling with the distance and handling it with loud outbursts and weird behaviour. (But worth sticking by to watch 👀)

A favourite moment: The courtroom reveal was just how I imagined it would be. Perfectly disruptive and precise.

Love Wave's found family and the way they have her back 😍 Sin is just such a good friend (shrimp ❤️). Lots of cute friendly nicknames.

Uncle Essi! Probably the best addition 😍

The dialogue is still excellent 👌🏻

That ending was surprising and left me pondering and stuck in my thoughts. Can't believe I have to wait a year for the next book. All my highest recommendations!

Spicy spice 🥵🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 (still a lot of 'fade to black' and short scenes but it still works!). The consent checks, that clear communication about boundaries makes up for it, it is so hot 🌶️🥵

Romance: Mates and claimed and bonded. MFMM+1? It is a RH yay 😁

World: 🌎🌎🌎🌎/5 – it is still so subtle and often brushed over quickly, not taking up too much space. Sometimes it works but some things I would love to be hashed out a bit more.

📝📚 Thank you to Hazel Rockwood for letting me read this as an arc. My review is my own honest opinion.

FYI Possibly the most chaotic review I’ve ever written.

*Incoherent screaming*

How many times did I get mad at the author? Yes.
How many times did I expire from swoon and spice? Yes.

I’m just going to share some of my shouting at Hazel.

~You’re writing is so f*cking delicious and I’m dying and I want to savour it, so I’m going to pause for today 😂~

~I am outraged that I need to feed not only myself but also my husband and stop reading 😤~

I envy the readers who will read Stormbringer and Siren’s Secret for the first time. I will be going back and starting again before book 3 comes out because there’s a lot going on with this story. I want to find any hidden threads I might not have spotted the first time through.

I love Rockwood’s writing style. It’s crisp and sharp and soooooo good I can’t explain it. I find myself rereading scenes to sit a bit longer in a moment; turn the words and phrases over in my mind again and again. Wave is the most awesome heroine. She kicks arse and is vulnerable as well. I adore her friends—bestie Salis is both literally and figuratively an angel. I need a Chrissy to make me an incredible wardrobe? Diana and Ginny—they are all awesome and just the best girls/angel a struggling, powerful being harbouring many secrets could need.

And the Powerhouses. I can’t say anything else without spoiling, so you’ll have to just experience them yourself 😂 I love each of Wave’s relationships with her men. They each have their own strengths and struggles, and most of all, I love how they support and love her.

I’ll yell at anyone who listens to read it. READ IT.

“I received an early copy of this book for free from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.

The first thing I have to say about this book: INCREDIBLE.

I received my copy this morning and I couldn't put it down. I started at 8 a.m. and finished at 9 p.m., with only a two-hour break. Hazel has given us another incredible book.

The character development and their relationship with Wave are so well done that you can't stop reading.
The story is mainly focused on her relationship with Jarred and Irishen in this one. Hellion is sulking and trying to find excuses not to get close to Wave. I admit that frustrated me a little, but I understand the idea behind it, especially with that ending!!

Yes, the end of this book leaves us with another insane cliffhanger that only makes us want one thing... THE SEQUEL, NOW!

Honestly, I have I loved this book as much as the first one! This series is truly incredible, and I'm so grateful to Hazel for letting me read this book in advance!

I 1000% recommend reading the sequel to Tracthesian Academy when it's officially released! Not reading it would be a huge loss!

Really a five star read!

I received an early copy of this book for free from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.

This book was fast paced and kept me entertained and engaged the whole way though! I liked Wave a lot, she’s funny and I appreciate her witty confidence. She’s powerful without being arrogant and recognizes that she still has much to learn. I loved all the aspects of found family, especially her platonic relationship with Salis, but also her roommates and the powerhouses.

Now for the parts I wasn’t a fan of: the dialogue felt very immature, especially because it was brought up multiple times that most of these characters are 40+ years old. Even if their magic didn’t mature until they were older, I feel like their overall maturity should still match their life experiences as the book has a modern setting. I also thought the use of nicknames (Salis and Waves sexy food names aside because that was hilarious) were overdone.

There are definitely some darker elements of the story that are mentioned but overall, I think this is a good book if you’re looking for something fun and sexy.

Wave is back, and she is a force to be reckoned with!

Hazel Rockwood does it again. Book 2 picks up right where the chaos of the first book left off, taking us on a total rollercoaster of revelations, high-stakes twists, and deep emotional growth. Wave continues to be an incredible FMC, and watching her navigate her evolving world is a highlight of the series.

The Men & The Bonds
The character work in this installment is top-tier. I loved seeing Wave deepen her connections with Jarred and Risha, and eventually Marc. What I appreciate most is that every bond feels distinct; each man brings something unique to the table, and their dynamics with Wave make perfect sense for their individual personalities.

The Standouts
• The Support System: Wave’s relationships with the girls and Silas remain a favorite part of the story.
• New Dynamics: Sin and his nickname for her—"Shrimp" 🦐—how cute!
• Family Ties: Let’s not forget Uncle Essi 🥰, that was a surprise.
• The Villain: Hellion is officially on my last nerve!

Strength & Suspense
Wave’s character growth is stunning. Seeing her stand her ground against her grandfather was such a powerful moment; she is fierce, resilient, and refuses to back down.

And that ending... OMG. Just when I thought I had a handle on things, another massive revelation and a cliffhanger have left me reeling! I need the next book immediately.

Huge thank you to Hazel Rockwood for the opportunity to read this ARC!

I received an early copy of this book for free from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.

An amazing continuation of the series. Wave is still her badass self, and continues to be true to herself. She doesn’t fall over backwards for her men.
Her friendships are kept intact, and there is NO “not like other girls” vibes, which is so rare to truly find in reverse harem books. Furthermore her friendships grow further in this book, which was lovely.

A pretty good depiction of PTSD as well, although it doesn’t delve too much into it. I appreciate how it was shown and explained.

The men are cuties. I’m so happy they are there for her and are continuing to build together. I love that not all the powerhouses are part of the harem (12 seems a little insane to me), and are instead “big brother” types.

Some of the men are so … male it’s hilarious. How they don’t pick up on cues and things really cracks me up.

Overall I truly loved this book, and I am so extremely keen for the next one.

The only con is having to wait until 2027 for the final book!!!

I received this advanced reader copy after seeing an ad on insta. I love why choose and magic so it was an easy sell.

I liked book 1 and I liked this book. I liked the pet dynamic and how Risha plays into it. I was disappointed when pet put the brakes on that situation, and am hopeful the next book will give me some of that Lion/Risha passionate power together. ⚔️ and pet. I want pet to play too.

There were parts I had wished were fleshed out more like when the scene cut to a new chapter when she was in the shower with pet the first time. Talk about lady blue balls on that. I was ready to see how pet reacted to that. I also wished we had heard Rishad story about Hellion or his family or whatever it was he told her, who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe we’ll get some more in the next book.

Sometimes the sentences melted my brain.

Overall, it’s pretty ok. Solid 3.5 stars.

The character development between the first book and the second is incredible. Wayla has so many different layers to her life and we are slowly uncovering them piece by piece. She’s learning how to control her powers and letting people into her world which shows huge growth for her. The tension between Hellion and Irishen is great as the book progresses you learn more about them. I love how Wayla knows Esserieh, one of the most feared demons in Hell and refers to him as her uncle and then Lucifer makes some appearances, and everyone is just blown away how this sweet girl knows demons. The spice level was on point, a little too much all at once in some cases. I hope we learn more about her Siren abilities and get to see them in action in the book to come. The cliffhanger definitely took me by surprise and now I can’t wait for the third book to come out.

Siren's Secret by Hazel Rockwood is the second book in the Tracthesian Academy Trilogy. I voluntarily review of a file received from the author, all words and opinions are my own. This is not a stand alone, I recommend to read the books in order. The previous book is Stormbringer.
The story picks up where Stormbringer was left off.
Wave is at the Academy and she and her 4 love interests make things pretty interesting so to speak. Siren's Secret is a multilayered story, spicy, rh and once Morgenstern shows up - yay all the way.
I loved the pace of the story, the characters growth, the drama, the push and pull. Even the secondary characters are fantastic.
I recommend the book and the trilogy that deserves all the stars.

I was so excited for this ARC and to get back into the world of Wave and her crazy men. Hazel did not disappoint in this sequel. I went back and re read book 1 because I wanted everything completely fresh in my mind for this book. It picks up right where book 1 left off. I absolutely love Wave’s journey and inner strength. Jarred is one of my favorite golden retrievers. I realized enjoyed getting to know Irishen more, he’s a great addition. All of these men are HOT and I love how even though there’s 12 (technically 13) powerhouses, Wave only has eyes for certain ones but she still continues to build bonds with all the rest. This is a great sequel and I’m so happy to have gotten a chance to read this ARC. This book is worth the read!

I received this as an ARC and immediately started reading it. I needed to know more about Wayla and what will happen next to give myself more than a day to read it. There was a lot that happened in this book that had me at the edge of my seat and swiping through it all night. I’m glad Wayla has the people around her that she does! She’s been through so much and they’re willing to bend over backwards to protect her. This book, however, has a major cliffhanger, and I wished I savored it more. That way, I wouldn’t want to immediately ask about getting the next book as soon as possible. Overall, a 4.5/5!! I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

When i began reading this book (book2) i just had to go back and re-read book 1 because it was just so good, and i needed to really live in this world for a few days.
I dont usually reread that much unless its a book i really enjoyed.

Just like book 1, this book is filled with laughter and wholesome friendships that would disintegrate a body in acid without question. The girls' friendship group is so well done that your heart always feels full.
The witty banter and comebacks are phanominal and always leave me laughing.
You never know what's going to happen next, but you'll love it. The characters are so lovable, especially how they all band together.

This book is a very steamy why choose fantasy and will definitely make you blush and giggle. It is very hot🔥

"Creampop? What the fuck is a cream pop?" Wave asked with a genuine smile.
"Hell if i know. Im running low on food-related nick names. Would you prefer gravy boat?"
"What kind of gravy?"
😂🤣😹 always love their nicknames.

Jared on the island, Irishen's overwhelming protection, Marc on the plane🥹❤️
Hellions jelousy 🔥 i cant wait for how hot book 3 will be with him.

Love how each connection gets a different name between the species. It seperated what each connection means for eachother.

Just drop off that cliff when it was getting juicy!!!!!!!! I NEED MORE.!!!!!!

If I could give this book 10 stars I would.

Firstly thank you Hazel for trusting me with your baby. I got to beta read this and it is amazing. The way Hazel writers MMCs should be studied.

I love that we delve deeper into the backstories of each of the characters, we get to meet new villains and we get to see the FMC become more and more herself and be ready to step into the power…

Yearning? We have plenty of it.
Smut? We have the best of it.
Begging? We have the most of it.

Yes pick up this book as soon as you can.

The second installment of this series is amazing.

Also this book will make you want to read all of Hazel’s books.

I would have read this quicker if life didn't get in the way. I wanted to step out of my daily needs to just lie in bed and read this from start to finish.

If you thought it could not get hotter than book 1, you would be wrong.

The spice continues to spice, the banter continues to banter and Hazel continues to surprise with turn you don't expect the characters to make.

Why-choose even get an upgrade here and I love it! So glad I got to read this second part of the series as an ARC reader again.

Thank you Hazel for proving me with an ARC💕

This is the second book in the Tracthesian Academy, so you do need to read book one to understand this one since continues the story with no time gap!

We learn more about our FMC Wave and watch her character develop more which is so beautiful to see. Her relationships are slowly building with the men who have fallen for her.

I wont spoil the ending because you definitely need to read it to believe it! All I have to say is the ending left me with my mouth on the floor, because what do you mean!?!?

Thank you to Hazel for the ARC opportunity!

Ahhh, I loved it. It kicked right off from the first book and we were able to see how the relationships between Wave and the boys developed more in this story.

The writing was well done and fluid, the plot was interesting and kept me wanting more, and I enjoyed how each relationship played out and didn't feel rushed!

Another cliffhanger, so beware, but I can not wait for the next book in the series!

WOW! I couldn’t read this book quick enough, could not put them down in fact devoured both books 1&2 with 48hours. The books are well written, fast paced, fun read, good banter, plenty of steam and a side of mystery. I can’t pick a favourite character as think I love them all. Please read book 1 first as the background is so important for book 2. My only disappointment is I now have to wait for the next book and with that ending too.

I had the privilege to be an ARC for this book, I was so excited because after reading the first book in the series I’ve been waiting anxiously for this to come out.
