Her sister vanished three months ago. The search was called off. Nora Fielding never stopped looking.
When Sergeant Ethan Cole arrives in Pine Crossing with a K-9 that won't obey him, Nora sees what everyone else missed — a handler carrying guilt and a dog carrying grief. She calms the Belgian Malinois in thirty seconds. It takes Ethan longer to admit he needs her too.
Tess didn't get lost. She uncovered an identity laundering operation hidden in the summer tourism trade — and the man who took her isn't finished. Every lead Ethan and Nora follow brings them closer to a truth the whole town wants buried. And closer to each other.
But when the man holding Tess offers a devastating trade — her sister's life for the evidence that could dismantle an entire criminal network — Ethan faces the one choice he swore he'd never make again.
The mission, or the people he's learned to love.
She calms his broken dog. He believes her when nobody else will. Together, they're the only chance Tess has.
Clean romantic suspense where the couple saves each other — and the K-9 saves them both.
Book 3 in the North Star K9 Series. The story is good, solid and the plot is interesting. I liked the couple and enjoyed going on their HEA story. Sometimes this author goes into such detail about whatever the bad guys have planned it takes me a bit to catch up. However, this is a well written story, great characters and I definitely love the dog’s character. Another hit for Kate Voss to add to this really great series.
